Incredibly professional and friendly. They worked very hard, and made sure the job was done right. It was a tricky L fit into a pantry. I wasn't sure they could do it without taking down the shelves. But they did! It was also reasonably priced and the service was fast! We'd had another installer put in our kitchen slab and were disappointed. So this time I was very cautious. This was a superior job. I love the way they edge their marble, without a "seam" showing. Couldn't recommend them higher. In fact, we have another cabinet in our entranceway that needs a countertop. Definitely returning here for many reasons.

We just finished our kitchen remodel and worked very closely with Rann Valdez to personally guide us through the process from selecting the stone counters to demo of our kitchen to measuring up our kitchen and then finally installing the stone. My wife and I could not be more pleased with Rann and his team. I built our home 20 years ago and it was time to upgrade our kitchen counters. From start to finish, Rann was there every step of the way. As a custom contractor, I can't say enough good things about our experience. It was trouble free, on time and on budget. I had a new bathroom vanity installed by Rann. He is very good at what he does. You can tell he takes pride in his work. We had a talk about what I was expecting, and Rann bent over backward to make me happy. I went with a granite countertop. He had so many slabs to choose from I had a hard time deciding. In the end, I couldn't be happier. Nothing looks better and lasts like natural granite stone.

A great guy to work with and his team did a wonderful job. We remodeled 3 bathrooms and needed new counters for all. Gave him the requested material, he came out to measure and voila, they installed the counters. Oops, 1 mistake - they used the wrong material in one of the bathrooms, but no problem, his team came out, removed the wrong and installed the new! No issues. Rann is super easy going guy, interesting community engagements and does great work. I strongly recommend his work and services!

A few weeks back we started doing our homework for a kitchen redo. We contacted Rann an within 30 minutes he was at our home. Not only was he professional in appearance but also in communication of the bidding process. While at our home he shared The whole job process as well as timetables we could expect on work starting time completion. Since Rann's business is within 20 minutes of our home he invited down to pick out materials for colors a pricing. After we picked out materials Rann shared we could expect a detailed bid within hours. When we received our bid it outlined all items and cost. My dream countertops are in! Rann is a true artisan and craftsman. He clearly has vast depth and breadth of experience when it comes to stonework for homes, businesses and restaurants. I interviewed quite a few contractors/shops and received bids, yet I felt most confidence in the estimate by Rann, especially given my initial referrals to him and subsequent references I spoke to. He personally created our countertop templates by hand and possessed that great blend of artistic sensibility, accuracy and professionalism as we were going for funky Art Deco curves and asymmetrical shapes. He also was willing to be a one-stop shop providing great guidance/consultation/solutions for our plumbing needs: new double sinks, bar sinks, faucets, garbage disposals and more. Our kitchen, island kitchen, bar, alcove desk and kids bath now feel all-so-sparkly, updated and luxurious. His team of installers (and demolition) were absolutely tidy, cautious, courteous, detailed and took pride in executing high quality of work, too! Worth acknowledging, no doubt Rann is a busy contractor, always the sign of a great business that is high in demand. Every customer's home project Catch 22. Professional, courteous, responsive, well-priced and just genuinely nice people at Rann Valdez Stone! Rann and his team did an excellent job replacing some of our kitchen and bathroom countertops. The new slabs completely transformed and brightened our spaces-- it almost looks like we did a full renovation. Our project was definitely not an easy job with quite a few unforeseen issues cropping up with our house, but Rann and team dealt with them quickly and professionally. My counters are in!! Love the wood grain look!! It's fusion quartzite! I highly recommend Rann Valdez Stone in Concord for the beautiful installation!! The edges are cut at 45* and match perfectly!! They worked with us to squeeze our counter and island out of one piece of stone slab and it looks beautiful.

Rann installed a Caesar Stone quartz counter top in my kitchen. It looks beautiful. We had a very small kitchen with a doorway to the living room. When the wall was knocked out, the installed counter tops with "waterfall" on both ends make the whole area look so spacious. Rann and his installers did a fabulous job, and I would hire him again in a minute. I could not decided what tiles to pick for the floor so Rann just showed up one day with a tile sample and it was perfect. I really appreciated his quick response and designer touch.

I was looking for a local contractor to install a granit counter for my kitchen. My counter included a unique design with a metal frame. Rann was very creative and offered several options. When we finally agreed on the design, my wife and I changed it a day before installation. Rann took care of changes without hesitation and we finally got it installed the way we like it. His crew was on time and worked non-stop to finish installation. They also cleaned up the kitchen spotless. I would recommend this business to anyone who wants to update their kitchen.

We've just had a bunch of contracting work done at our house and our best experience was with Rann Valdez Stone. We had just completed a horrific installation of cabinets, sinks and a counter in our kitchen that included a flooded kitchen, hardware installed improperly, missed appointments, etc., so we were hesitant about doing our bathroom. However, Rann Valdez Stone was the perfect company to restore our confidence in contractors. They were responsive, friendly, worked to get us the best deal, were timely and did an amazing job with our project. They come with our highest recommendation and our only regret is that we didn't hire them for our kitchen project.

Rann Valdez Stone just did a small bath vanity for us using bianco romano granite. I figured since it was a very small job compared to what they usually do, this would take a while... low and behold I got a call within a week of providing the measurements and they came out to perform the install. The finished work looks great, looking forward to having them do my outdoor grill area!

We had Rann install our granite kitchen counter tops in September 2014, that we purchased from Marble Unlimited in Hayward. Dave the sales person there (very helpful,btw!) recommended Rann to us when we asked for a reference in the Walnut Creek area. I called Rann, and he came out the next day and we discussed exactly what I wanted and expected. He gave me a very competitive price for the job (out of 5 bids that I previously got); I said lets do it, and he measured and made the template on the spot. The slabs that we picked have a very busy pattern to them. Rann asked if we wanted to come into his shop to discuss the best way to match the patterns up, as best as possible, after all the mitre cuts were done. He laid out the template on the slabs, when we arrived, to discuss the best plan of attack. After scheduling the install in advance, since we were going to be out of town for a couple of weeks, Rann's crew were right on time, professional, and did an excellent job on the installation. They also threw in, without charge, the sink installation and leveled out our 48' Decor ranges to align it with the counter new top. After the installation was done, I called Rann back to take care of a couple of very minor issues, he responded the next day and sent his crew out to take care of it. I am very happy with the results, and working with Rann. I have also recommended him to several people, including a contractor friend of mine.

I have hired Rann to do several projects in my home and have always been very pleased with his work. He and his staff are professional and work hard to make clients happy. Our first project was a large kitchen (granite and backsplash tile). He did an excellent job from start to finish. From referring me to places to go select my materials to fabrication and install he was excellent. He faced a few tricky issues with our kitchen design and met each one with a great solution. We were super happy with the job he did. We then went on to hire him to do a bathroom vanity and a top for a laundry room sink. Again from template to install the process was smooth, his pricing was excellent and the finished product was perfect. The latest project he has done for us is a limestone fireplace that is amazing. He took a picture I found in a magazine of a pre-cast mantel and brought it to life in limestone and it is truly the center piece of my room. It came out better than the original picture and him and his crew worked hard to make sure it was simply perfect. I look forward to more projects with Rann and his company and do not hesitate to give him 5 stars!!

I was in a hurry for completion of this project as I was entertaining out of town guests and really needed use of that bathroom. I shopped around to several businesses in looking for Cambria quartz countertop for a 7 foot custom vanity install. The initial contact with Rann Valdez Stone allowed for some negotiations on the price and lots of flexibility on the template sizing, fabrication date, and installation date. The countertop was measured by Rann himself, and was installed by two of his top notch installers today. I have no qualms in giving Rann Valdez 5 stars and would highly recommend his business to anyone looking for a smaller type operation where price is important and flexibility too. Thanks.

We were pleased with the kitchen countertops that were installed. It was great that the template was able to be done without having to demo our current countertops, so we didn't have to wait 2-3 weeks with just plywood. My biggest complaint was the communication process. It was extremely difficult to get responses. It was explained that they had lost their office manager and his wife was stepping up to help out. Still, it would take several calls and emails on my part to get any response. That was challenging. Hopefully, this gets resolved soon.

Our experience was parallel to G.T.'s comment, plus more. We were put off, mistakes made more than once, wrong marble (twice!), wrong finish and prices were all over the place. I just got the feeling we weren't valued as a client, even though we spent over 10 grand. Melissa is a nice enough and was helpful, but it seems to me that she spent a great deal of time covering up for Rann, who is mysteriously always unavailable.

We have been so disappointed with Rann's services. Communication was poor from the beginning and we found him to be rude and inconsiderate. He upcharged any time there were little changes that needed to be made, and they had to redo part of the countertop because of a mistake the fabricator made the first time. When they reinstalled our appliances, our stove vent/fan did not work properly, and while the appliance guy was trying everything possible to fix the problem, Rann stepped in and told him not to bother with it. He told my husband that that was not his responsibility, even though we paid him for the reinstallment of the appliances. It was a clear part of the quote he gave us. We also discovered that the plywood underneath the island countertop now has a huge, long crack. We were told by another contractor that our counter has too much overhang and that the wood is cracking because it does not have enough support. When my husband called Rann, Rann said that plywood is made to crack!! On top of that, the rough plywood underneath the counter gives us splinters and catches on our clothes when we sit at the island. My husband asked him to come back to sand it with a power sander and he said that is not his job!! After one phone conversation, he never called my husband back. And now our faucet is loose with a broken part underneath because of sloppy installation. This has been so upsetting after all the money that we paid. I would absolutely not recommend him.

Bad workmanship and communications at nearly every step of the process for a kitchen installation. In the end you will be left to litigate to get a possible resolution for their lack of quality. Go to another stone fabricator for your project needs.

5 years ago had 3 bathrooms, kitchen and fireplace done. Beautiful work. Told everyone how awesome they were. Flawless work. Today, totally different experience. Much smaller project...redoing the tiled bathroom due to water damage from a pipe issue. Had to remove the floor tiles. The shower is done with tile and round cut 'raindrop' accents that also carried across the floor. Again, gorgeous work that I hated to have ripped up and was looking to replicate. Contacted Rann and after several follow ups and an incorrect quote finally received a quote 5-21. After working with my insurance contacted them to move forward. Schedule an on site meeting that Rann was a no show., finally meet 7-6. Was told repeated that it wouldn't be problem matching the existing shower, went over another small job on the fireplace and I though everything was set. Yesterday (8-6) get this email: Rann is unable to take on this type of project at the moment. We have so many projects going and we are down one staff member. Thank you for thinking of Rann and his business. I am newer in the office but I heard about the beautiful work he did in your bathroom! How cool. All of us here at Rann Valdez Stone wish you luck with your project. If you need any references feel free to reach out anytime. ====== There were multiple opportunities over the course of several months to turn down this project. Given the to many projects comment I can only think my small project (quoted over 10grand so not exactly tiny) got bumped by something larger. It's been 7 years since my Icestone (concrete and recycled glass) countertop was installed by Valdez stone employees while the boss was out of town for a biking event. Every time I go into my kitchen I resent them. They said the slab was cracked at the warehouse and offered us a $500 discount for a small seam that would be needed. We felt bad for them and told them $250 off was OK, because the seam was not so noticeable under the cooktop. Not long after the slab cracked in multiple places. The employees put a shim under one slab at the sink, now that slab is 1/8 inch or more higher causing a big break in the seam. No shim at the next slab making it and uneven break. We had to install my faucet at the far corner of the sink because they did not allow enough room in the back when they cut the sink area out, making it hard to spray the far side of the sink. I had sent in the exact measurements from the manufacturer which no one bothered to look at. Also I had to replace the undersink hose because it rubbed against a pipe, expensive for a German Grohe faucet. On top of that the workers used our pre-primed boards which we had for another purpose without asking, left a mess of concrete dust outside, used our glue clamp which we never got back. They even left their own saw on the sidewalk strip long enough for it to get stolen with our clamp. Rann came out to check the work just after install and I could see his facial expression was odd when he felt the difference in height between the two slabs which at that time was masked by silicone caulking. I am about to replace the countertop and I would NOT use Rann Valldez Stone if they offered me free services. If they screwed up again I would need to spend get more money. My next countertop will be Ceasarstone or something similar that does not need sealing to prevent stains especially since I want a light colored counter top in my small kitchen. POSTSCRIPT I have learned my former installers are no longer with the company. The owner's wife and bookkeeper reached out to me and she was very caring and gracious.

HORRIBLE GRANITE GUY. And possibly an even worse business man. He cut our material in both bathrooms wrong and then tried to cover it up. Used a completely different material for backsplash and claimed it was the same until he figured out that I knew what I was looking at and couldn't lie his way out of it anymore. To this day has told us that he is still looking for the right material. (been 4 months) Seams in kitchen are horrible. They are the width of a nickel and hang up on everything. They set a grinder on my island slab while it was still spinning and cut into the finished surface. Job was supposed to take a week and months later it is still not complete. HERE'S THE BEST PART...when Rann gets to the point where he realizes he cant manipulate, lie and make up excuses about the problem you are having with him he will just tell you "take me to court and I guarantee I'll win" then he will say "have a nice day" and HANG UP ON YOU!!!

After reading those reviews I know it can't be true. In nut shell excellent in salesmanship, horrible in customer service and workmanships the biggest problem; they lie, lie and when I catch their lies they twist their lies. Nothing but headaches; 1) they cut the quartz behind my range wrong by 5" and I just can't understand how after seeing the range and cabinets side by side they will cut wrongly? the seams are wide so you can see gaps so they came back and glued it, several parts were all scratched up 2) Day one in front of my kitchen designer I was told that the job will take 10-15 days I guess to impress my kitchen designer and get referral a month later the job is not even near done. 3) after measuring my kitchen, I purchased the exact quantity of the slabs they requested now they are telling me they are short and I need to pay them another $1000 otherwise they can't finish my job, and when I went to their shop I saw 2 pieces of my slabs sitting there, but I can't proof it but my shade and pattern was very rare. 4) Day one I was told we do not nickel and dime our customers so far they are asking a bunch of fees and in order to finish the job, with your kitchen non-functional it is more like distortions than anything else what else am I going to do now? I hire someone else to finish the last 25%? 5) Each person tells me something completely different than other, the owner Rann told me he did all measuring and drawings, 3 weeks later when I asked his installers why the rest of the job is not done he said because he needs to come back and do the drawing next week, the office contradicts both, in nut shell they are full of lies. I am most sorry that I gave them the job I had several estimates and Rann was the most expensive of all ($3,000 more than the next guy) simply because I believed his salesmanship.
