I normally read customer reviews to try and get a sense of what to expect from a business, but I rarely take the time to write a review. This is one of those times when I’ve had such an exceptional experience that I need to share my thoughts.
We were referred by a family member that had countertops installed by MGW and they were very happy with their experience. We shopped around and the cost was very reasonable compared to other quotes we received. After we picked out our slabs, Pashko and Patrick came out to measure the kitchen for the new countertops. The countertop facing our bay window and sink is almost fourteen feet long and is pretty complex; so, Patrick used a computer and laser to precisely map out the walls and cabinets to create a template for the new countertops. The install went very smooth and the fit was exact. Because the countertop was so long there needed to be one seam, but the joint is so tight and they took the extra effort to line up the veining that you don’t notice the seam unless you are really looking for it. The same attention to pattern matching was also taken to coordinate along the backsplash on each section of the countertops. It is very obvious that the MGW team takes pride in their work; it’s that attention to the details that really makes the difference. The installation team was also exceptional; they worked with skill and precision, not rushing, all while keeping things clean in the process. We have already referred a couple friends to MGW and they were extremely happy with their installs too. We will be using MGW for future bathroom renovations. I highly recommend Marble & Granite Works!
Thank You Pashko, Patrick & the MGW Team!

So happy with their customer service & pricing. Even happier with our new countertops. Still a lot of work to do in my kitchen, but the quartz looks phenomenal! Would absolutely recommend.
As a side note, they did a great job working through the pandemic. No contact sample pickups & the installers in our home wore masks.

We priced and looked for countertops for months. We were able to see the whole slab, not just a small piece or sample. They had a few different sinks to pick from. They did an amazing professional job for hundreds less than all the other places we priced.

We just had our kitchen countertops replaced with Vicostone Cayman Brown. They are beautiful! We were very pleased with our consultation with Patrick, the price was great, and the fabrication was done in a timely manner. The installers were very professional, and I couldn't believe how quick they took apart the old counters and installed the new quartz. There were a couple of minor issues, and Patrick was very quick to get them resolved. I would recommend this company, and this quartz product.

BUYER BEWARE! My neighbor wanted new bathroom and half bathroom countertops. She told me she would try a local business, Marble & Granite Works on Van Dyke. She went the first day alone for information. That same day ,Patrick the salesperson, came out and measured. He was specifically told it must be two piece countertop in main bathroom so toilet can be worked on. The second day, she asked me to come along for opinion and support. Once again, emphasis on 2 piece countertop. We picked the countertop and sinks for both bathrooms. She went the third day for a minor change in order. Not one o those days was a formal bill of sale printed up. The following week, the installation team of THE OWNER and helper showed up. First thing out of THE OWNER was why is the countertop not out?!? Disgruntled, THE OWNER and helper removed countertops and plumbing. As they did that, my neighbor inquired about them replacing the faucets. THE OWNER rudely replied that WE DON'T DO PLUMBING, PAINTING OR CAULKING...EVERYONE KNOWS THAT! How many of us reading this knew that? This put my neighbor in tears and she called me over. The arrogant OWNER gave me the same song but I returned his arrogance and voiced my disbelief. While they continued, I called Patrick and reported this incident. "Well, he's a little rough around the edges til you know him"! I DONT CARE! I remained while THE OWNER and helper finished. My neighbor is ready to pay and THE OWNER states "CASH ONLY". In my book, red flag goes up. She pays him and off they go. The following day, I attempt to move the second portion of countertop to work on toilet. THE OWNER CAULKED IN THE SECOND HALF!!! Call Patrick and he immediately comes over. We showed him the crappy job and the caulked shelve. He went and got his tools and removed caulk and pulled countertop off and cleaned and put back. There was NOTHING he could say but goodbye. As he left, I told him again to e mail the final bill. As of this writing, no email!!

I've been looking forward to for years to put in a unique wall of shelfing in my bedroom to show off some nice gemstones and glassware. I rearranged my entire room and bought new furniture so i could do it, went on vacation to buy some expensive pieces for it, and called them up explaining what I was looking for. Apparently what I want isn't worth their time and would be too much work. (at least that is what the lady told me) It is always good to hear from a company, "No that project is too small and not worth it to us, esp since we are 'so busy". I'm glad to know that my money isn't good enough.

I had a horrible experience with the same company! Stacy wouldn't return my calls and my countertop was installed chipped and cracked. They said it was a "fishers crack" my local store came out and said "No that it not, that is damaged!" The store needs to start from the front office and clean house, they are not returning calls nor do they have good products that they are selling. Who would install a cracked yet chipped countertop? This company would!

My husband and I had a horrible experience with this granite company. We had purchased 3 counter tops (bar counter, sink counter & buffet counter) through a home improvement store that contracted MGW for the counters. Upon consultation, Marble and Granite Works (MGW) informed us that the buffet counter, being the largest at 9ft long, had to be cut into 2 pieces and seamed back together as it would not fit through our basement stairwell. Concerned as to what the seam would look like and where it would be, MGW reassured us that they would seam the 2 pieces exactly where the split them - making the seam blend as best it could. We OK'd the template layout and patiently waited our 21 days to have the counters installed.
After install, we noticed that the 2 pieces that were seamed together didn't match. Both the granite pattern and color was extremely noticeable and different. I immediately called MGW to complain and to find a solution to this mistake. Fortunately, they took pictures of our layout and pictures after the install and admitted to their mistake. Apparently, they bull nosed the wrong side of the counter - it was backward. They kindly offered us $200. Keep in mind, we paid $4,000! Their next offer was to pop the seam, bull nose the other side, glue it back together and install a granite back splash to cover the bull nose side against the wall. I couldn't believe they would offer to rig our $4000 counter top - whatever happened to QUALITY? I knew at that moment, this was not going to be an easy fix. Not only did we have our contractors on hold as they couldn't move forward with an unfinished counter, it took us almost 2 WEEKS to give us a settlement. During that time, they were extremely defensive, argumentative, and continued to insult us by accusing us of only being out for the "money". Near the end, it got so bad that our home improvement store, in which we purchased the counters through, had to make up the difference that MGW would not pay as they knew MGW was being unreasonable.
I'm warning you, please do not use this company for your granite or marble counter tops. They have no concept of quality, cost or customer service and I would hate for another customer to go through this.

According to our information and industry practice, Marble & Granite Works Inc., like most participants in the ranking, provides a workmanship warranty valid for 1 year from the date of countertop installation. This period is usually specified in the contract. We do not rule out that the company may have extended warranty terms (2 years or more), however, during our research, we did not receive confirmed data from the contractor regarding the duration and scope of its warranty.
The contractor’s warranty covers defects in fabrication and installation, such as uneven or separating seams, leveling and fastening issues, detachment or sagging of an undermount sink, flaws in edge finishing and cutouts, premature failure of seam materials, and cutouts that do not match the approved design. Warranty coverage does not include damage from use (thermal shock/burn marks from hot cookware, chips or cracks caused by impacts), stains and acid etching (for marble), wear due to insufficient maintenance or lack of sealing, natural characteristics of stone (veins, micro-pores, variations in shade/pattern within tolerances), shifts caused by base deformation, or any modifications performed by third parties.
The material warranty is provided by the manufacturer or the official stone supplier. Engineered quartz brands often offer a limited “lifetime” warranty for residential properties (subject to registration and compliance with care guidelines). For sintered surfaces, typical warranty periods range from 10 to 25 years. Natural stone usually does not come with a factory warranty — its quality of fabrication and installation is covered by the contractor’s warranty. The term and scope of the warranty depend on the project and materials — contact Marble & Granite Works Inc. in any convenient way on this page to get the current terms.
