My husband and I did a total renovation to our home this last year. Since the scope of our remodel was considerable, I spent enormous time and effort getting multiple bids for each component. We chose GB Rafael to make & install ALL our counters, which included the Kitchen, Powder Rm, 2nd bathroom & Master bathroom. Each member of GB Rafael's team was: Helpful, timely, a great value, great communication & professional from start to finish. We would hire them again in a heartbeat & recommend them to anyone who is considering new counters or anything that needed stone surfaces.

GBR is amazing! Highly recommend. We upgraded our kitchen on a budget and went to GBR because we were interested in Caesarstone, but it turned out that wasn't the right solution for us. After exploring other affordable options, we almost didn't do new countertops at all; but at the last minute we found an inexpensive orphan quartzite slab that we loved at another shop. It was cheap not only because it was an orphan but also because it had some issues, including a giant fissure on the back, a deep vein on one side, and chipping along one edge. On top of that, it was on the smallish side. We took this problem to GBR. They arranged for the slab to be delivered to their shop and took very careful measurements of our kitchen. Then they did a wonderful job of talking us through all the challenges that this choice of slab brought with it -- but best of all, they suggested solutions and alternatives to make it possible to use it in our kitchen. GBR knocked it out of the park on the cutting and installation. The counters and island look perfect! They were even able to enlarge the top of the island a little from the size of the old one. We could not be happier with the results. They were a delight to work with and we will definitely work with them again if we do additional work to the house.

These guys are THE BEST!!! I first connected with them after I fell in love with a piece of marble that I selected for the kitchen counters in my cabin in the redwoods. Erdvin took all the time I needed to understand the design and installation procedure, as he did through the entire process. He and Francisco did a great job of measuring my new kitchen. I stopped by the shop and he showed me my piece and explained the decisions that had been made about cutting it to perfectly suit my project. The installation came off very nicely and my new kitchen is SO beautiful! Everyone along the way was very professional. GB Rafael is a wonderful resource.

If you want a countertop installed on time (actually better than on time) and on budget this is the place to go. Small family operated business as it used to be. Very professional, quick and great results. It was a wet day when they came to install and they even brought floor coverings which they put down in socks! We didn't expect that. They had no problems with our IKEA cabinets, installed a sink brace I wanted and all of that took less than 3 hours. Yes, they do laser templates which results in a perfect fit. I couldn't find anything that's more than 1/8th off and we're talking seriously crooked walls here. Just to mention the spots where it's off are not the visible kind. Excellent job for a good price. I will recommend them to anyone who asks.

What a great experience, working with Granite by Rafael. All three of the brothers I worked with, Francisco, Mario and Giovanni, are very professional, careful, accommodating and pleasant men. They always paid attention to my requests, explained what they could do and what would be the best solution for my needs. They suggested I look through their remnants to see it they had a piece suitable for my small project, and with the help of the charming young woman who greeted me at their workplace, I found a beautiful piece of quartz. Using a remnant kept the price as low as I could get from a big box store, but instead of the out-of-town big box installer with scary reviews, I had this great team of fabricators and installers. And they had the countertop installed only 9 days after I first contacted them. I am a very satisfied customer.

One of the nicest companies to do business with. Ordered our granite for our coffee bar and it was ready in less than a week. Giovanni was so helpful and a real asset to this business. They make you feel like family. Their prices are fair and reasonable. Francisco returned all my emails quickly and was very accommodating. We will do business again.

We are really pleased with Granite by Raphael. I got estimates from about 6 local fabricators. I also contacted several of the big name fabricators on the "recommended " lists from the slab yards in town and most of them did not even return my calls. Only one of my quotes was less expensive (by very little) than Francisco ( yes, I was confused at first, but Francisco owns Granite by Raphael) and no other shop would even come close to how quickly Francisco and his guys turned our project around. Every other shop required 3-4 weeks after they came to create templates. Francisco told me it would be 7-10 days. And he ended up being able to do it more quickly. On top of that, we had a large enough slab (Carrara Marble) where we could cut a long run and return out of one piece. Other shops were not willing to do it in one piece because they were too concerned they might break it during delivery and install. Francisco had no concerns--he just knew he needed to take good care during delivery--and he did. Beyond his fair price, high quality work, and short turnaround time he has some great people working with him--and Francisco is a super nice guy to work with. I went in one day to discuss my project and spoke with Jovani for a while and he is both super knowledgeable and a really nice guy as well. All-in-all this was a very good experience and I will gladly work with them again if I have other projects.

I'm a General Contractor and these guys install all my countertops. They come to template and days later the install happens as if they built it in place I have never had a bad experience with them. No matter what kind of sink you have weather it's a farm sink or an undermount they can help you out. No matter what the material or what edge profile you choose weather it's granite, marble quartz or manufactured stone the quality is top notch. I really can't say enough about this company. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!

After visiting several local granite contractors & receiving estimates and timelines we were referred to Rafael. I was so happy to talk to someone who instantly made me feel like we met the person we were looking for. We were in the middle of a kitchen remodel and as most, did not look forward to templates being made after cabinet install to wait several weeks for counter tops. Rafael showed up the same day of cabinet install to make templates and fabricated and installed 6 days later! His price was very competitive and his work was superb. I met with Giovanni for layout and spoke with him even after install to discuss a matching granite window sill and he made the offer to take the time to drop what he was doing to come to the house while the tile was going in to measure and advise. You could spend more money and wait longer if you decide to use anyone else in town for a product that I could not believe would turn out any nicer than what we received. We highly recommend Rafael and his team!

Rafael did fantastic work, reasonable and a pleasure to work with. He met every timetable and even met me in San Francisco (while bidding another job) to discuss my project. My project included a giant island (5' x 10') counters and a full backsplash in granite. All mitered edges and no seems - the counters are spectacular and everyone that comes by is wowed! Rafael is both a perfectionist and artist. His qualities flow to his employees. Before selecting a granite fabricator and installer, we learned that a fabricator's granite saw greatly determined their capabilities. Out of curiosity, I researched saws online. Rafael showed me their programmable saw with tilting table. He said it cost about $60,000, which the online research confirmed. Rafael demands perfection and invested in a saw that could produce the best outcome. Rafael's employee, Giovanni consulted with us before cutting the granite. We described all of our preferences regarding the final outcome. Giovanni listened extremely well and produced exactly what we wanted. He delivered amazing results. The edging is absolutely perfect. His seams are a work of art. Either side of each of our two seams have patterns that flow together. The granite we choose has a substantial amount of grain or flow, which increased the challenge. I am remiss for not writing a review sooner. Rafael is a doll. He has great taste and while he is the owner - he is also the artist/installer. He understands the concept of a budget- You will get great work whether the job is big or small. He has an interesting showroom that gave me great ideas for when I do have more $$$$. Rafael is very talented and very professional. Don't let the location concern you as he is very close to the freeway. I love my wonderful counter and get tons if compliments. I can't wait until I can install more of his work.

I cannot say enough good about this shop or it's owner!! Rafael was so easy and accommodating to work with when I rebuilt my home after a fire. He did two bathrooms and my large kitchen with 4 different stones (granites and marbles). He also did the counter top in my guesthouse in a composite material (Zodiac). He helped me choose the types of stone and allowed me to be part of the layout of the various countertops. He also provided me with the sinks for the kitchen and guest house with a significant discount- they are really good quality stainless steel and came with all sorts of goodies (cutting boards and stainless colanders). I also purchased the pot filler faucet through him at a great price. He is an honest, responsible and skilled stone worker/ business owner who goes out of his way to make certain you are happy with the outcome of your project. Too few of those folks around these days. Check him out, get a quote- I bet you'll be happy! (PS he did the McDonald Mansion remodel as well... must be good RIGHT?)

Installed my granite fireplace surround crooked and did not cut the hearth to the length that I specified. One of the bottom pieces of the surround was also a bit too short, but I let both cases slide since they weren't off by very much (hearth was a couple inches shorter than I asked for and the surround piece was about a centimeter too short and caused a gap between it and the other pieces). Also left one side of the surround improperly treated so that it is a different color than the rest of the surround. He explained that they forgot to apply a granite ager and that he would come back to fix it. It took multiple phone calls before he came back again to apply the first coat and he said he'd come back again to apply the second coat. After another month of calling and getting no response, I gave up. Two stars since the surround looks great, if you don't look too closely. Otherwise, it would be one star. Customer service was terrible and I wouldn't trust them to do any precision work.
