Highly recommend Brian and his team! I used G.M. Marble for my kitchen counter remodel and the team was super professional, kind and executed the project seamlessly from templating, stone selection all the way through to counter and backsplash installation. The team was quick to respond to any questions I had and had tremendous attention to detail when taking measurements and performing the installation. Super happy with how my kitchen turned out thanks to the team!

Highly recommend this company for any countertop job you have. The prices are very competitive for the quality of work that they do. The scheduler Cinthya, helped me out a lot when I ran into some time constraint issues with my personal and work schedule. There was no pressure from the owner Brian to do certain things-it was whatever I wanted to do. He gave great advice but also listened to what I needed and wanted. The two installers (Luis and Lee) I had were quick, quiet, very clean (put down catch-all paper tarps for their boots) no dust all over like I was expecting. Very professional company, they came and made templates first to be able to cut my countertops precisely and at their shop so no dust at my house before installing. I will recommend to anyone I know and use them on any future remodels.

I worked with Brian to spec out a potential countertop job and wanted to leave five stars for the depth of knowledge, patience, and great communication with the GM team. Unfortunately scheduling issues on my part prevented us from working together, but Brian would be on my short list of installers for the future. Clearly this is a family business with a tremendous passion and commitment to quality stone craft.

On the weekends, we learned that visitation is by appointment only. We didn't have an appointment, but Brian saw us anyway. Brian seems to be very passionate about what he does, and that's something we are looking for. We haven't chosen our countertop contactor yet, but they are definitely in the running. Update: Kitchen is not quite done. We're about 90% or more complete. G.M. Marble and Granite was chosen for the countertops and they did a beautiful job. THEY ARE GORGEOUS!!! They were reasonably priced and a dream to work with!!! Absolutely recommend them for your project!!!

I was looking for granite countertop installer for quite some time and spoke with several companies. The explanation Cinthya gave me on the project details was comprehensive and made me confident that everything will be done properly. The price they quoted was very competitive. Unfortunately, they are the specialized shop (countertops only) and I decided to go with another company , which cover other things like plumbing, flooring as well. But I''ll keep them in mind if I need some fabrication in the future

Very helpful team! Cynthia took the time to understand our need and showed us around to the different options. Looking forward to completing a project with them. FYI, directions are correct there, but the office door is a little hidden behind their slabs outside.

I cannot say enough about GM Marble and their staff. I had issues with a couple of contractors that I had to let go and was up against the wall when it came to the timing of getting my slabs from the vendor. I found GM on Yelp and decided to give Brian a call based on the reviews. He called me right back and his calm and assuring manner made me feel like I had finally found the right crew. That definitely showed when the first delivery of the slabs to their shop turned out to be slightly different shades. It was not something I noticed with my untrained eye, but both Cinthya and Josh there pointed it out and even went so far as to bring both slabs outside in the sun so I could see the difference. It was hugely disappointing but the vendor said they would send two more slabs as soon as possible. Sadly, those slabs did not match either! I believe it was GM's expertise and professionalism that save me from a big headache of having the two slightly different slabs installed right next to each other. In the end, the vendor sent six slabs to GM for them to pick out two exact matches and they found two bookmatched slabs that went together really beautifully. GM did an amazing job of seam matching a very bold veining pattern. Plus they did a great job of protecting the space during demo and clean up afterwards. I plan on using them again when it's time to do my bathroom countertops.

In the middle of a very large remodel, GM Marble was recommended by our Contractor. The scope included two indoor kitchens and one outdoor kitchen, a pantry, two bathrooms and a laundry room and incorporated 8 slabs of Granite and 2 slabs of Quartz. The GM Marble team handed all of the materials from various suppliers, created templates, and walked me through (advised, cautioned, recommended, celebrated - because they are experts, and I had never had new counters installed!!) the placement and seaming, and their team spent all the time needed with adjustments to ensure I was happy with the placement and final design for fabrication. Their delivery teams were on time, worked long days, very pleasant, and always ensured we were happy with the end products. The installation exceeded my expectations, and our home looks lovely. I would definitely recommend GM Marble to anyone embarking on home projects.

Brian and his team came highly recommended by my neighbor who'd just completed a major high-end to studs remodel in Lafayette (we were about to do the same). I've flipped a handful of homes and dabbled in development in the past - the key to a great project are the people / vendors / partners you leverage. Brian consistently went above and beyond - I initially purchased 3cm slabs due to the complexity of the install - only to find out that my cabinet makers hadn't planned for it. Brian made some calls / pulled some strings and was able to swap out 3 slabs w/ his vendor (this speaks volumes to how folks in the industry see this company) - His scheduler and installers were on point throughout the engagement. My understanding is that Brian is a second gen stone and countertop guy - his dad taught him the ropes and did an absolutely great job. The install team came back to polish the counters once construction died down and even filled a small chip in a custom sink I'd purchased from overseas. When I tried to pay for their time they politely declines (several times). Guys, THIS is what it's all about - leveraging others to take the stress out of a traditionally complicated, spendy, and time consuming process. Cannot recommend this business enough, THANK YOU!

This fireplace slab is our second project with Brian and GM. A few years back they cut and installed a countertop for a bathroom vanity. It was a built-in - it had to fit between two side walls - so had to be very accurate. It has been several years and still looks great. The fireplace slab (the walls are not yet painted and there are drywall patches from other work we are doing) is a whole different level of work. Our slab is about 10 feet tall - which is very hard to find at the height. It took 10 people to lift into place. If you are looking for a great fabricator, GM is your place. If you are doing a slab and want further information, read on... For us, we did a heavy amount of research on slabs - both via social media to get feedback on pros/cons and research into fabricators. The biggest issue with slabs is that they crack in time - mostly, if not installed correctly. We contacted GM as we had great experience with them on our first project, but we also contacted many, many more. We contacted fabricators in the bay area that stated they did granite, fireplace slabs. When we looked at their work, they often had one or two jobs with vertical slab work. We only found two that had multiple jobs - GM being one of the two. If you are doing Slab work and you ask the fabricator about how they secure the slab, how they cut the opening for the fireplace, and if they do seams you will get a better example of their experience level. GM has quite a number of vertical Slab jobs they have done, maybe 7 or 8 (more?) in their portfolio. That may not seem like a lot but most have 0 to 2 that we spoke with (we contacted maybe 12 fabricators). Brian has a lot of experience with these type jobs and it shows when he discusses options. Depending on the type of fireplace insert you choose (electric or gas) you may be okay with an opening with 90° corners, but if you have a heavy slab (we did), clay soil (we do - lots of movement), and a gas insert (we do, high heat... electric fireplaces typically are show only and do not output heat), then how you approach the slab matters. We have eased corners in our opening, a horizontal seam to offset the weight and hidden anchors to secure the slab to the wall (really wooden framework/cement board anchored to the wall, not the wall itself). They also glue it, but the anchors assist. We also have side pieces to our slab that wrap the sides of the underlaying frame. These are mitered at 45° to the front slab. In person, it looks like a 3" thick slab and not that we have mitered side pieces. So if you are looking to do a slab, make sure you talk to Brian as experience matters on this type of not inexpensive install.

Another phenomenal job by Brian and his team of installers. From start to finish he was there to walk us through the process step by step. I run a small handyman company (Robs Odd Jobs) but I know when to hire and sub out a project- even if it's at my own home! Brian's team were phenomenal. He hooked us up with some gorgeous and low maintenance quartz counters which are much higher quality than anything at granite expo (they use cheap Chinese quartz). His guys were always on time, protected the home, were polite and professional, and cleaned the house better than it was when they walked in. He worked within our budget. We shopped other places and the quartz alone was $8,000. He got us the counter tops, the demolition labor, dump fees, layout, material and installation ALL FOR LESS than what the material alone was going to cost us of the competitors. Highly Reccomend them to all our friends, family and clients of Robs Odd Jobs. We are a top rated 5 company and we only refer the very best! We hold all our sub contractors and referrals to the same high standard and we are proud to refer GM Marble and granite with the upmost confidence!

We have worked with Brian and his team at GM Marble & Granite on our recent kitchen remodel as well as our master bathroom, and have had exceptional experiences with every encounter. The team is friendly and knowledgeable, and committed to their customers having a great experience. For our kitchen, we selected slabs and purchased them, and the selection process was easy and straightforward, no high pressured sales tactics, just a team looking to ensure their customer gets what they want. And the countertops are perfect, just what we envisioned. For our bathroom, Brian suggested that we consider using remnant slabs on this smaller job, which was a huge savings for our budget, and the countertops turned out great! Installers were courteous and professional, the whole team is dedicated to excellence, and delivers a phenomenal product at an affordable price. I would recommend GM Marble & Granite for any job, big or small.

After a kitchen disaster, we were referred to and chose GM Marble to install our quartzite counter and backsplash. I was impressed with everyone at the company, from the owner Brian to the office manager Cinthya and all of their hardworking employees in between. The team that came out to do the installation were all extremely knowledgeable, communication was wonderful, and they stayed until the work was completed. We have an older home so the walls had some bows to them however you would never know it! After we chose our counter, GM staff spent a lot of time with me, working on the counter and backsplash templates to ensure that I got the exact look I wanted with the pieces I had chosen. I have to include that the company I purchased the counter slabs from also spoke quite highly of GM. I would highly recommend this company and definitely use them again. Their customer service is top notch, with a shout out to Brian and Cinthya for their professionalism and ensuring an 'above and beyond' experience!!

GM Marble installed our countertops and backsplash today. We chose them first based on the Yelp reviews, then because I felt really comfortable with the people here. I was impressed the entire way through! Their work is perfect! Even in my wildest dreams I couldn't imagine my old kitchen looking so fabulous!! Also, of great importance to me, communication was easy. Brian and his team fully deserve 5 plus stars! We are going to have them cut our leftover granite for a project my husband wants to do. I can't speak highly enough about Brian and the GM Marble team! I have used them twice now, for a bathroom & a kitchen remodel. For the bathroom I had a specific (and a little complicated) backsplash idea, and Brian worked with me to make it perfect! Brian knew we were expecting a baby, and he was so kind to get everything done before he arrived. When the team arrived to install, the crew was extremely pleasant, installed everything quickly and was so clean! Also, they have a great selection of slabs and remnants at their shop to choose from, and they are able to source a ton of other options if you are looking for something specific. I can't wait to use them again for more projects!

During a nonsensical dispute, my landlord told me last minute that I had to repair the minor chips on the Quartz counter top ( although I would argue they are considered minor wear and tear), I was so stressed and I didn't know where to start. I happened to call GM Marble first and boy did I have good luck. Brian, helped explain that they specialize in all types of countertops and calmed my worries by confirming they can easily fix the chips on the quartz countertop. He scheduled his top technician, Josh, to come to the house the next day and repair the chips. Josh was very knowledgeable and fast, he made the job look easy. Josh was in and out in 45 minutes. Brian was courteous and provided excellent customer service. I had the chips repaired just in time for me to turn in my keys and complete my final exit walk through with my landlord. Thank you GM Marble!! Lifesaver

Great service and great price. I think it took two weeks from the time of the quote to the installation. Highly recommend - especially in Napa where the local options are limited and much more expensive. Had a little hiccup during the install but they kept me informed and made the required changes quickly.

I needed a scrap piece of granite and didn't care what it looked like. Brian looked in several places to find a piece that was pretty close to the exact measurements I needed. He made me a deal I couldn't refuse and carried the piece to my car trunk. He was even concerned that I would have someone to help me carry it in since I am a small senior lady. What a sweetie! If I need something again I will certainly go back there. Thanks for everything!

We were very pleased with the selection of solid surfaces for kitchen and bathrooms at GM Marble. We purchased quartz material for our remodeled kitchen and bathroom. Even better, was the service we received from all... the sales people, the installers and fabricators. They were very reliable and very quick to fabricate and install. We plan to purchase from them additional quartz or granite for a fireplace that will get replaced in 2019.

After an exhaustive search for a marble vanity top (including trips to Hayward and San Leandro looking for prefabs) we were so fortunate to find GM Marble through a competitors recommendation. From our first conversations with Brian and Josh about fabricating our vanity top (with their assurances that a shipment of marble was expected and someone would call us) to the impeccable installation, we couldn't be more pleased. EVERYONE we had contact with was helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Their quality, prices and ethics can't be beat. GM has my business and recommendation for life! August 2018: GM Marble just completed another beautiful project for us. We will NEVER use any other company. Everyone on their staff is knowledgeable and does a stellar job...thank you GM Marble and Granite!!

I hired GM to fabricate a slab for my kitchen backsplash. After several iterations of design revisions, I finally got it squared away and the end product was a backsplash for behind the stove and a window seal. I was on a budget so I worked with remnants that they had so the only cost was fabrication & labor. All I can say is wow! Wow! WOW! Amazing craftsmanship. And Marzena knows what she is doing! If you haved never done a granite or marble installation, go to GM. They will help you along the way and your finished product will be a work of art.

I was super impressed with GM Marble!! After chasing my tail, I found them on Yelp and saw all the five star ratings. I met with Brian who showed me their great selection of marble and turned all my problems into solutions! We needed a half slab for a bathroom vanity. He let me choose the slab, the side I wanted and positioned the template. They added the sink and did a professional install two weeks later! I HIGHLY recommend them. Excellent products and customer service!

My husband and I hired GM Marble to do the marble in our kitchen November 2016. We purchased the marble from their inventory and had them fabricate and install. After the installation the kitchen looked beautiful. After a couple of weeks there were spots coming up through a section of the countertop that seemed to be spreading. Brian came out then his supervisor to review what was causing it- no answers but that it was something we were using to cause it. Greg (Brian's dad) came out to investigate and told us that it was something in the stone coming up through the stone and that it would mean replacement to get rid of it. Weeks have gone by and they all have ignored communicating any resolve. My husband sent an inquiry again yesterday to get this response from Brian today: Brian your Dad came out and looked at the marble and found a flaw in surface just need to know what is going on. I understand he was out of office. So haven't heard from you all so what are we doing? Brian The flaw is in the stone itself, I dont have the consecutive slabs that follow the one you picked out anymore, so im unable to show you in person. Grinding/polishing the stone is not a guaranteed fix either since its in the stone. Please call Gregory for additional info since he was the one who came out and saw it so I assume since it is a flaw in stone it needs replacement understand not bookend slabs but we need to figure something out I will call Gregory Brian No this is not a flaw that needs replacement, has nothing to do with the integrity of the stone and is not spreading. : It's a flaw that not supposed to be there So I believe that should be replaceable It's not like a crack it is not in the other bookend Brian: It can be replaced but not on our cost. Its in the stone itself, natural stone has variations are just in the stone we cant do anything about it So we signed off on the stone as you are made to do, but the stone even once it was installed did NOT have these markings. These began to accumulate once the stone was put in over a short period of time. GM Marble apparently inventories Marble that is questionable in quality and falls back on the fact they made you sign off on your stone of choice so that you are made to take what you get. Feels like a set up.

How long does it take G.M. Marble & Granite to prepare a quote for countertop fabrication and installation?
This content is coming soon..
Does G.M. Marble & Granite offer cutouts for sinks, cooktops, or other elements?
Yes, like most professional contractors in the market, G.M. Marble & Granite performs cutouts and countertop preparation for various components — both standard and modern. According to our findings, these services are typically included in the overall project estimate.
The standard scope usually covers cutouts for sinks (undermount, drop-in, or farmhouse) and holes for faucets or other plumbing fixtures. Additional cutouts — such as for cooktops, hidden or pop-up outlets, built-in wireless chargers, or other accessories — are discussed individually at the project planning and estimating stage.
It’s important to note that while the cutouts and countertop preparation are usually performed by the company, the installation of electrical and plumbing fixtures (such as faucets, outlets, or appliances) may not be included in their scope of work and could require licensed professionals. We recommend clarifying this point when placing your order.
To avoid misunderstandings, ask for a detailed estimate with a breakdown of all services: cutout pricing, installation, and any add-on options. This will ensure project transparency and help you clearly understand what you're paying for.
What guarantees does G.M. Marble & Granite provide for its work?
According to our information and industry practice, G.M. Marble & Granite, like most participants in the ranking, provides a workmanship warranty valid for 1 year from the date of countertop installation. This period is usually specified in the contract. We do not rule out that the company may have extended warranty terms (2 years or more), however, during our research, we did not receive confirmed data from the contractor regarding the duration and scope of its warranty.
The contractor’s warranty covers defects in fabrication and installation, such as uneven or separating seams, leveling and fastening issues, detachment or sagging of an undermount sink, flaws in edge finishing and cutouts, premature failure of seam materials, and cutouts that do not match the approved design. Warranty coverage does not include damage from use (thermal shock/burn marks from hot cookware, chips or cracks caused by impacts), stains and acid etching (for marble), wear due to insufficient maintenance or lack of sealing, natural characteristics of stone (veins, micro-pores, variations in shade/pattern within tolerances), shifts caused by base deformation, or any modifications performed by third parties.
The material warranty is provided by the manufacturer or the official stone supplier. Engineered quartz brands often offer a limited “lifetime” warranty for residential properties (subject to registration and compliance with care guidelines). For sintered surfaces, typical warranty periods range from 10 to 25 years. Natural stone usually does not come with a factory warranty — its quality of fabrication and installation is covered by the contractor’s warranty.
The term and scope of the warranty depend on the project and materials — contact G.M. Marble & Granite in any convenient way on this page to get the current terms.
