I was promised over and over that they would deliver counter top material for a kitchen remodel on a certain date. I've remodeled three kitchens in 12 years and know how timing is everything. I asked the sales people about a delivery date so many times that I was embarrassed to ask 'just one more time. They said there was NO WAY anything could go wrong and that I need not worry. So when I got a note from my contractor that they hadn't delivered on the delivery date.... They delivered about ten days late, which meant I lived without a functioning kitchen for four weeks. One message from them was about how they were going to "expedite the process" (!) and another asked if I had read the sales paperwork about possible delays in shipping (!!). I'm still waiting to see a copy of that document. Take your business elsewhere.

2 guys in a truck with this company’s logo on it were cat-calling a woman on the street in San Francisco. Based on this experience alone, I wouldn’t want these guys around my house/ family.

I was so impressed by this company’s professionalism that it elevated my mood for the entire day. I benefitted from their knowledge, teamwork, problem solving skills, cooperation and attentiveness. They polished an old Corbusier marble table that had many water stains, resulting in a shine befitting a new table. What was most impressive was their dedication to achieve the best possible result. There was an unforeseen issue that Dan resolved the same morning with the help of two technicians. More companies should adopt this work ethic!

There is nothing more fun than wandering through acres of stone slabs on steel racks hunting for the perfect look. And when you find what you seek for your project (ours was a kitchen renovation) you know that’s the one you’ve got to have. The kitchen counters for our project were originally specified for quartz. But Fox Marble gave us an option for using classic Italian marble (at comparable cost but without staining or etching concerns). The product they used to treat the marble is a non-visible and safe coating called Formula 131 by Tenax. During the few months the new counters have been in use, and through a few dinner parties, our new counters look amazing, and the coating has delivered as advertised. Thanks, Fox Marble!

Gerardo was my technician. He did a fantastic job fixing my granite countertop. It was cracking badly behind the kitchen sink and I was certain we were going to have to replace the entire countertop. But now you can't even tell it was breaking apart unless you turn your head sideways and squint at the exact spot where nobody else will ever know that it cracked. Professional, prompt, and extremely knowledgable and skilled! I've included a "before" shot and an "after" shot. But zoomed in like that, it is a little hard to tell how great it looks! We are thrilled.

After we hired a guy to polish our quartz countertops he ruined the and I was so upset, I look for company that can restore them and found Fox Marble but I want to talk about the person who did the job. Eduardo, he is so knowledgeable, respectful and did a great Job, I told him that every time I walk into my kitchen I feel upset seeing my island and he told me no to worry he well do his best to bring me happiness again and he did 👏. he is great he will explain you every step, also the other guy wet my floor and left a lot of dust which I thought was normal, so I was prepared to clean after Eduardo finished but I was surprised how clean he worked, he used disposable shoe cover, no floors were wet and no dust, you can see the before and after pictures. I recommend Fox Marble and highly recommend Eduardo.

I just had Fox Marble refinish my Quartzite countertops and Edwardo their master craftsman did an incredible job! They look better than they did when we first got them. People normally don't think about the lifespan of their countertops and the quality of the products used during installation. Sadly, initially another company used cheap water based sealer on them. Five years later, they were badly stained with water marks and many dull spots. Fox Marble has a patented anti etch blue light process that is incredible. I couldn't afford it, but I got the oil based sealer and the man hours of sanding, grinding, and polishing Quartzite. This is one of the hardest stones and it wasn't easy. Edwardo was a joy to work with. I am so impressed with his work. They are very lucky to have him in their employ. All together my countertops were a little over $1,000. I am thrilled! If you can afford that gel blue light sealer- do it! If you are lucky enough to get Edwardo you are blessed.

Despite doing one's consumer homework, sometimes the experience is nowhere near what others claimed it to be. Not so with Fox marble. We discovered substantial cracks in two marble pedestals over 30 years old. Dan Lopez answered the call and came over within the week. The proposal followed by nightfall. Natalie as the interface was responsive and complete. Arturo arrived on time and diligently worked virtually all day doing the restoration in an outside area he set up as his workshop. The result was beyond my expectation. A very heavy glass tabletop sits on the pedestals and Arturo had two other employees come over to set the top even though they were not the one's who dismantled it. This is an example of a company that has customer service as a priority and makes no excuses.

Gerardo was on time, professional, and very skilled. We had some heinous cracking happening in the granite countertop behind the faucet of our kitchen sink. Seriously, at least four different pieces were crumbling away that we could hold in our hands. He fixed it beautifully and resealed the entire countertop. It looks fabulous. And here I thought we were going to have to replace the entire countertop. Couldn't be happier.

I had Fox Marble refinish my Quartzite countertops. They are only 5 years old and I was shocked to discover the original installers used a water based sealer. The countertops were dull ,rough, and spotty with water marks. Fox Marble is one of the only Bay Area companies that offer refinishing services. They have a patented blue light sealing process that is similar to gel nails and is impervious to etching. I was impressed with the technique. They also offered an oil based sealer for a fraction of the cost. I opted for that. My countertops were refinished using about 12 different sanding pads, many polishing techniques, and absolute craftsmanship. Edwardo, their master craftsman is incredible. He is prompt, polite, honest, and a real artist. They are so lucky to have him. He worked on my countertops for two days and they look better than they did when they were first installed. All together my countertop refinishing cost a little over $1,000. I am thrilled. I definitely recommend this company and if you can afford that fancy sealing process - do it. Worth every penny. Thanks Edwardo!

Fox Marble is the best! We have a beautiful neolith counter in our kitchen that we purchased from Fox Marble. I dropped a huge, very heavy planter on the edge of the counter inside the sink, and shattered the edge into countless pieces. We thought there was no way it could be fixed. But Gerardo from Fox Marble is a miracle worker. The repair is barely visible and he was able to match the color of our counter. We still cannot believe he was able to do it -- a really beautiful repair job. Highly recommended!

I've read through all the reviews and I'm puzzled by the negative reviews. It's hard to believe we're talking about the same company, because we're absolutely thrilled with our recent Neolith ultrasoft installation! Bernardo did an AWESOME job with our installation, and was a true pleasure and joy to have in our home. We've already requested him for our kitchen counter Neolith installation that we're planning to do later this year. Also, Bill Gamble and the rest of the FM team made the process very easy and effortless for us from the fast turnaround of our initial fabrication quote, through measurement, then computerized layout options, and finally installation. Everyone on the FM team was incredibly patient, kind, and professional every step of the way. I'm very OCD and have very high standards, yet FM managed to exceed my very high expectations! That doesn't happen very often, lol. Our Neolith installation experience was truly fantastic. It was very obvious to us that the FM team takes great pride in their work and we highly recommend them!

We could not be more pleased with Fox Marble. Janice worked with us to overlay the design templates of our waterfall island and side counters on the veining of the Neolith Carrara Estatuario slabs to maximize the beauty of the stone for our kitchen. She knew exactly where to select heavy veining and where to go light. Janice was so thoughtful and had charcuterie boards cut for us from the remnants of our slabs, such an elegant and ultra designer touch! THREE YEARS LATER - Adam came out to deep clean and teach us how to maintain our counters. He spent over an hour working on our counters and huge island, and gave us supplies so we could do this ourselves in the future. It was a complimentary free visit and we'll definitely return to Fox Marble for all future needs - happy customer!

This company does quality work! They were all very customer oriented and professional. We had a lot of granite and slate flooring that needed cleaning and resealing so we contacted them and other contractors for estimates. We chose Fox Marble because of Dan's professionalism and quick response with a written proposal that was detailed and clear. He made several suggestions that we were glad he made. Mike did the work and was highly professional, courteous, and thorough. We are thrilled with the difference in the look of our granite and floors. I'm attaching before and after photos of our outdoor slate floors so you can see for yourself. I'm perplexed by the one star reviews as my experience was the opposite but it may have been due to personnel who are no longer there.

Great service team. I had etched my Superwhite marble kitchen countertop quite badly. Thought it might never come off. Got a very reasonable estimate from Dan who came over to take a look. Within two weeks, Rene came over and sanded, polished, and sealed in 3 hours. Perfect job. The etch is gone. Thanks everyone for a professional job!

Full-throated five-star review for Fox Marble's restoration work! I have beautiful marble countertops in my kitchen that I did not choose but would never replace. Anyone who loves to cook knows that white marble and ANYTHING don't mix! My counters were etched and guests in the kitchen made me a nervous wreck. Recently, and finally, California got a marble anti-etch product called More Anti-Etch that Fox Marble has the exclusive rights to employ here in the Bay Area. I tried reading about anti-etch products and all reviewers complained about a "glass top look" or a "plastic look" with anti-etch products. So when I called Fox, I asked for them to deliver a sample of marble with this More treatment so that I could see it, and test it, myself. I put lemons, olive oil, and red wine on the sample and left it for 24 hours. All wiped away and NO etching, no trace that anything had ever been there. I hired Fox to do this service and in walks Joel, the kindest, happiest, most thorough person I have had the pleasure of meeting. He likes his job, cares about his work, and is an enthusiast for not only this product but also for the Fox team. All in all, a 100% recommendation from me for the More Anti-Etch treatment, Fox's customer service, and for Joel's work ethic and workmanship! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

We have endured a messy, dispiriting construction project with dishonest, incompetent GCs and subs and very few bright spots. But, I am here to tell you that Fox Marble is a supernova in the endless darkness! From top to bottom, the staff at Fox are stellar. The sales rep - Bill - was patient and informative. He even sent a sweet handwritten note when all was said-and-done. Janice, our designer, is deeply experienced and masterfully diced and sliced our quartzite slab to perfection. Her suggestions were spot-on and creative. She even carved out a piece of leftover that we will make into a small working table/desk. Oh, and she, too, like Bill is patient and caring. Fernando came to create the template for the stone and was a pure pleasure with which to work. He, too, is vastly experienced and Sergio installed the quartzite masterfully. Finally, there is Nick who was incredibly flexible to our ever-changing needs. So, you can mess around with rookies and ne'er do wells, or you can save yourself time and grief by heading straight for the stars at Fox Marble. They are that good!

We wanted a natural stone top for a vanity and a matching cabinet. The pieces were too small to take out of a full slab, so we thought we would go to Fox and have it made out of a piece of scrap. What fun! So many exotic things to choose from. We thought we would do marble, but Bill suggested a really lovely chunk of jade-like costa esmerelda quartzite, which is more durable and beautiful for our application. He was very patient to help us choose the piece. He was also very patient to look over the plans we made, so that everything was clear, just as if it were a huge and expensive job. The work was done in just a few days after that, and the execution was flawless and exactly to our plan. All of this custom work and attention was actually cheaper than other quotes, due to being made from scrap. When we took delivery, the production crew put the pieces in our Prius very carefully, and even wrapped them in the drop cloths we brought along. Nothing was ever rushed. Everything was clear, respectful, and precise. The result is stunning. We would definitely go to them again. In fact, we are thinking of having a couple of cocktail table-tops made there.

We moved into a completely renovated home a year and a half ago after moving from DC. As seems to be the standard in SF, the kitchen countertops were done in Carrera marble. From the beginning, it seemed to be a poor choice as its surface always felt "dusty" even as I was wiping it down, and it was stained by everything that dropped on it, including water condensation. . .ugly grey "ghosts" were popping up all over the place. I'm guessing it was never properly sealed after it was installed. I called Fox Marble after an unsatisfactory response from another company. From my first contact with Fox, I was impressed. They came out within days to assess the situation and give me estimates for two possible remedies. The estimates seemed most fair so I contracted for the work to be done. The first opening (holiday time) was in early January, 6 weeks away. They stayed in touch, requested a small deposit, showed up exactly on time on the day expected. The two workmen set about protecting the surrounding area from any pixie dust from smoothing the surface. They were very focused and conscientious in what they were doing and they cleaned up everything before leaving that day. They also had prepared the nicked edges around the sink so it would look like new again! The second day, Juan and Eduardo arrived to put the sealant on and finish the job. They were amazing. Our counters look fabulous now, no residual stains, and satiny smooth. Water drops and even coffee drops clean up without any reminder they were ever there. FYI, I chose the cheaper finishing (the other is a "life-time guarantee" and much more expensive; the lesser should last a long time, too, just not "totally impermeable"). I would highly recommend this company if you want quality work done in a timely fashion. If I ever need marble help again, I will not hesitate to pick up the phone and call Fox Marble. The people were GREAT!!!

This is the first countertop sub I've worked with so far so It's hard to give 5 stars with a small frame of reference. However, they did a great job in all facets so I'm happy to. They worked with us on modifying our design to use some beautiful remaining scrap pieces of onyx. When Angel came out to make the template he caught an issue with two notches in the sink that the designers had missed and worked with us on adjusting the cut of the stone to accommodate the selected sink. When the stone came it fit the sink perfectly. His communication was great and catching that issue with the sink was huge for us. Our sales rep Peter provided well informed consultation on working around our cabinet install. The installers did a great job of making sure everything was perfectly level, hiding the joints as much as possible with well mixed color matched epoxy, and caulking the connections to the walls very accurately.

In a remodel that has been anything but easy, Jennifer and Janice at Fox Marble have made the kitchen counter tops the one item that has been a breeze. Jennifer, in sales, was wonderful to deal with from the moment we walked onto the lot to the scheduling. She made it easy. Janice was terrific in matching the different slabs of the same material to look as if it all came from the same piece of stone. You had to look closely to see that it wasn't book matched. When I sat down to work on it with her, it was 90% there already. She tweaked it in 30 minutes and we were done. Together they made the experience a pleasure and effortless.

I had a great experience with Fox marble start to finish! When we had company visit, they splashed something on our Carrera marble bathroom counter tops & it left awful etching. After reading multiple places online that it couldn't be repaired or was very difficult to do so, I crossed my fingers & hoped Fox Marble could fix it. Julio came out to do my estimate. He was very professional & a really nice guy. He assured me they could repair the etch marks by refinishing the entire counter top...he said it would look like glass afterwards & it does. I was lucky, Julio was actually the person who came to do my job. I think he is the best. Not only is he extremely nice, he is an expert. He could tell I was nervous & told me several times "don't worry".... Based on my experience, I am confused by other reviews. I would definitely say, if you have a marble or tile need, then you should give them a call for an estimate. Talk to them & see for yourself.

Live in Marin. I tried to separate a frozen chicken leg pack from Cosco on our granite counter. It always breaks the chicken but this time, to my dismay the chicken didn't budge and a corner of the counter hit the floor. OMG, this is going to cost like $7K. I called the guys at Fox and they scheduled someone to check it out. I agreed to try a repair and two weeks later, someone obviously very skilled in the art of ubatuba surgery managed to glue it back together and hide the seams. I got left with a bill for $400 instead of needing a major kitchen redo. I'm quite grateful.

THIS IS A CLASS BUSINESS. We were replacing counter tops, picked out the stone, reviewed the layout, looked at the stone again before it was cut and thought all was fine. We then received a call from Jeremiah Smith. He had looked again and thought there were too many imperfections and that we would not be happy with the installation. He said that had two other pieces that looked the same, but without the imperfections. Naturally we chose the new stone. For me this was OVER THE TOP CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is the way all businesses should treat customers but don't.

We wanted a new, updated fireplace surround and hearth and visited several marble and granite purveyors and we were a bit put off since the people selling us the stone were not involved with the fabrication and installation of whatever we would buy. Fox Marble and Granite sells, fabricated and installs your chosen stone. Their system was seamless; you find the stone you like from their great selection, they help you with design and detailed measurement and follow thru to installation. After installation they cleaned up the room and departed, leaving us with a new fireplace that is more beautiful the we even imagined.

Fox Marble renovated my guest bath with slab marble. They even cut my floor tiles from slab so everything would match. The measurements were done digitally and everything came out absolutely perfect! I feel like I am in a 5 star hotel every single day! THANK YOU Fox Marble! P.S. I was so happy with the first bathroom, I had them back to do the countertops in my upstairs bath. Perfection again!!

So the service I received from Fox was great. We had our marble counters in our kitchen resurfaced and sealed by them and there was a issue with the product on the first round. When i called after a couple of days of drying time to make sure I followed directions and all it was explained that this happens once in a while and they would take care of it.And they did in a timely manner and everyone I worked with was great. Thanks, and just a note If you actually use your kitchen don't go with marble, came with the house, I miss my granite just works better in a kitchen.

We were looking for a new countertop and stopped by Fox several times. We had a tight schedule and limited budget. Fox completely stepped up and made both a very reasonable bid and promised to meet our schedule. They were fantastic, especially Jeremiah, who responded to every inquiry almost immediately and was always pleasant to deal with. Fox is the quality shop in town - they've got the best stones and the service to match. Highly recommended.

Fox Marble & Granite is a fantastic company. We have done several projects with them and all have turned out great. Matt and his crew were a joy to work with. They have a huge selection of stone and they did a wonderful job of helping us select the stone that was just right for our projects. They showed us their vast array of machinery (they can do anything), how they were going to cut the stone, shape it and seam it so as to hide the seams. We would gladly work with them again and have recommended them to our friends.

I called these guys with a weird request. I didn't need tile or a countertop. I'm a sculptor, not a homeowner. I was looking for a marble sphere to kick off a project and was at a loss as to where to find one. I spoke with Jeremiah who was super helpful and polite but explained how machining a sphere was a very difficult and expensive process. He asked for my email address though in case he thought of someone that could help. 20 minutes later he wrote and asked, "Did you try Ebay?" DOH! I hadn't even considered it. Now this guy didn't have to brainstorm a solution for me let alone email me his idea. He could've just gone about his business of dealing with _paying_ customers. Instead he helped out a hapless artist. When I finish this sculpture and it makes me rich and famous, I will surely remember his kind deed. Thanks for going above and beyond Jeremiah! I hope this review helps send lotsa business your way.

OK this is my 3rd project using these guys... I'm running out of bathrooms! I love working with this company because their final product is just STUNNING! I went to a yoga retreat up North (I think in Sonoma or Mendicino) and saw this Verde borgonia (http://www.fox-marble.com/verdeborgonia.asp) in the main house and fell in love. Is it possible to fall in love with marble? I had to have it. So when I remodeled my kitchen, one of my 1st calls was to Fox. Charley said it was a premium stone and cost more than average. It was worth every penny! Plus every thing from start to finish was impeccable and professional. The seams are perfect. Janice helped me pick the actual slab from the warehouse / show room and she did a FANTASTIC job! I think she has 3D vission in her brain. All the slabs blend /merge perfectly and she added an extra stab to form a perfect match. This process is called templating and she spent extra time figuring out the best slabs that would fit together so it would look like one piece.

Fox did the countertops for our kitchen remodel eight years ago, and we were so happy with their work that we had them do another kitchen in our new home in December. We then had them come back in July and install a stone fireplace mantel. The sales staff was a little slow returning phone calls, but the quality of the work far outweighs the minor inconvenience of waiting a few extra days for a phone call. Fernando, our template man, was excellent and even offered a few design ideas that we felt made the completed project turn out even nicer. The installers, headed up by Jose, were timely, proficient professionals with the skills necessary to satisfy a perfectionist. Highly recommended!

Superb product, excellent service. Yes, they're closed on the weekends. Many businesses are. Yes, it takes 2 weeks to get a templating appointment, but they tell you that at your first visit/phone call. And when you're doing a kitchen remodel that takes several weeks, you just have to plan ahead. Very nice people, from those in the office, to those who show you the stone, to the templater, and the installers...all very professional and really good at what they do. Yes, this place is expensive, but the mitered edges that come standard are flawless and beautiful. We love our new countertops.

A friend of ours went through Fox Marble & Granite for her kitchen remodel 7 years ago and it looks as good today as it did when it was first completed. Before we started to remodel our kitchen we knew exactly who we wanted to go with without a doubt. The customer service is stellar and the product and installation is exceptional. We will go through Fox for any marble or granite needs in our future without a doubt.

I have been working with Bill Gamble for 10 years...as long as I have been specifying stone countertops with Gilmans Kitchens in San Francisco. As a Kitchen Designer sending clients to Fox I really appreciate the service Bill, the employees and crew offer my clients. I am very impressed with Fox Marble & Granite...Thank you and Happy Holidays! Dyan Floyd, CKD

These guys are wonderful. Yes, you have to plan ahead because they need a couple of weeks to come out, measure, cut etc. Yes, they aren't cheap. Yes, the neighborhood is scary. However; the marble counter top in my bathroom more beautiful than I could imagine. I went out to the yard and they took the template and placed it on the slab that I had picked out. I got to move the template around until i found the exact layout that I wanted.

We hired them to polish our old granite counters and fill the grout. Estimated 2-3 business days. They were the only company we could find that would do this work. Dan Lopez and Michael the polisher went the extra mile and we are happy with the result.
