Best of all once I made a decision he was able to get in within a few days! His guys were awesome and quick. My husband and I have been renovating our home and updating it to our liking. He decided it was time to start on the kitchen at the end of 2017 so this is his review: I recently had a quartz countertop installed by Abel and I have nothing but compliments for him and his team's work. I reached out to him for a quote right before Christmas, he showed up on time, and the estimate was reasonable. I ordered the countertop through a supplier which he picked it up for fabrication. We scheduled a time for installation and they completed the work within two days. During the installation, his team found a leak on a drain line which had been slowly leaking for the past 8 years. I wasn't able to see it myself since it was in the corner pocket of the bottom cabinets and only visible with the countertop off. I was out of the house at the time, when I came back they had already fixed it (no added cost). Very happy with the end results!

Able and his team are wonderful workers, I think of them as artist in there field. They did my kitchen counters with garnet and did an amazing job. I have had Abel do work for me on 3 different projects. The first was a Carrera Marble breakfast bar, the second was a complete kitchen counter marble replacement, and the third was a new bathroom countertop with new sinks. Obviously I was happy with his work, otherwise I would have never had him come back to do additional jobs. Family owned business that is very honest and fair priced. We contracted Abel to install our white quartz countertops. He was very responsive and answered all my questions throughout the process. When he originally came by for the first estimate, he pointed out areas where it could he problematic, and gave his suggestions on how he addresses them. From the first meet, Abel was friendly, honest, and just easy to talk to. He wasn't all about the money but rather the quality of work that he can do for us. Abel never over promised, and gave it to us straight. When he went to pickup our quartz from the warehouse we purchased from, he informed us that the type and color we chose were the most difficult to hide the seam joints. What a guy! Instead of just getting the material, doing the work, and then having us deal with an unsightly seam, he kept us informed and provided us with information we needed to know. Based on this, we chose a slightly different shade/type, and Abel was able make a good seam joint. We also had a farmer's sink installed. As you know, this is a bit more difficult than a normal sink. Abel gave his feedback, what he thinks looks good, and what was best structurally. He delivered on all aspects! We definitely are recommending Custom Kitchen Counters ran by Abel to our friends and family! Thank You Abel, we love our new kitchen!!

I got a couple of quotes, from other yelp business (also close to 5 stars) and a big box store. The quote I received here for a prefab quartz countertop was better than the big box store and the other yelp business. We met first on Wednesday evening, where Abel brought about 30 different quartz options to chose from, all at the same price. Everything from various, whites, grays, and colors. At the big box store and the yelp competitor the same prefab quartz would have been more expensive due to the way they classify the quartz and he added the back-splash for free. He also had some super premium quartz selection available, but we found that the less expensive options of the 30 he had available worked for us. He originally promised a Tuesday install. However, on Sunday he contacted us asking if we would like to install on Monday. He showed up at 11am and left 5 hours later with the job done. Not sure how to evaluate the quality of the install, other than to say it all looks flush and plumb right now. I am having my main contractor look at the job in a couple of days and will update the review if necessary. The process itself was nice and smooth (5 days from order to install), the price was fair and the product was as expected.

I contacted Abel @ Custom Kitchen Counters, Inc. on a Saturday afternoon as we were remodeling a small kitchenette at my work and wanted a new quartz counter tops. He came out the following week to take measurements and provide an estimate. By far, he was very reasonably priced and his choices of quartz colors were very nice. We placed a deposit for the counter tops and I had advised him we were waiting for our cabinets to arrive and I would contact him when we were ready for the installation. Once our cabinets arrived and were installed, I contacted Abel and advised him we wanted to make some changes to the size of counter tops. He was extremely accommodating and he came out to Santa Monica from the San Fernando Valley to do it without any hesitation. We eventually scheduled our installation date and time and he called me day of to confirm he was coming and actually arrived earlier than stated. It took less than 2 hours for him to complete the installation and needless to say, we are very pleased with the result of his work. I would recommend Abel and Custom Kitchen Counters, Inc. to anyone who is needs new counter tops for their home or office. Abel is extremely professional, courteous and easy to work with. I registered for Yelp just to share my experience with you yelpers after a great experience with Custonm Kitchen Counters Inc. After getting quotes from four different contractors I chose Abel (Owner and Operator of Custom Kitchen Counters) after seeing his portfolio. He is indeed competitive with his pricing but that does not mean you sacrifice quality. He was quick to come by my house and take measurements and give me a quote. He and his brother installed the counter tops in one day. I changed my mind as to how I wanted my bar to appear and he was quick to come out to fix the issue even after the install was done for no fee. He WILL take care of you. This is a follow-up to my review of 3 weeks ago. As usually happens, once a contractor leaves, we found a few issues, nothing major, but annoying. I left a message for Abel, detailing the issues. He returned my call on a Sunday, unheard of for a contractor, and scheduled his crew to come back out to resolve all outstanding issues. This is after he was paid in full. All issues are now resolved. His followup, once the job was completed, says a lot, and says it well! Prior Review: Abel and his crew replaced all counters in my house with quartz. He and his crew were on time, cleaned up afterwards, and were very professional. He was honest in his dealings. His pricing was VERY competitive. I am very pleased with how everything turned out. I would highly recommend him.

I had my marble counter tops installed this week. Happily, I can say that they came out beautiful. The project was completed in two days; which included a tile back-splash. Yay, I'm a fan! The marble slab was fabricated and brought to the house already cut; so the counter top was installed in 1-day. Day 2 consisted of hooking up the cooktop, new sink, faucet and tile backsplash. I purchased the sink through Abel and it was very nice and solid. The good news is that they did what I had hired them to do; install a beautiful counter top. However, that does not mean I did not have some complaints. Unfortunately, I have three: 1) First, my filter water did not get hooked back up; nor was my dishwasher. I did not even know that the hoses to my dishwasher needed to be disconnected and for a day I thought my dishwasher was broken; since the electrical was working. For some reason, I had to get new parts to reconnect these two water sources; which ultimately took a week to repair; I'm busy. 2) Next, I asked for the garbage disposal to be installed on the left side of the sink. They guys nodded and said, "ok;" but later discovered that they did opposite what I had asked and installed it on the right side. I do not speak Spanish and they do not speak good English. 3) Lastly, and the most frustrating thing was that my water heater pilot somehow got disconnected and would not reignite. This could be totally coincidental; but happened the day of disconnecting the gas from the existing cooktop. We have been unable to repair this and have been forced to take cold showers for nearly a week. This sucks! Would I recommend them, I think "Yes" but it was a messy job and took lots of cleaning on my part afterwards. Please test all your water & gas appliances afterwards; otherwise it will be a rude awakening. They are countertop installers and not plumbers so I did not even bother asking them to come back to repair it.

After searching for a reliable quality tile company that would totally remodel our kitchen (after a small fire) and install new granite to our detailed specifications, I found Custom Kitchen Counters. I was referred to them by a large tile store. Abel Bonilla (the owner) came himself to measure and discuss scope of work. Not only was Custom Kitchen Counters very compatible in their cost, Abel and his crew were very easy and accommodating to work with. Don't waste your time. The guy (Abel) showed pictures that looked like maybe he does good work but he wasted my whole morning and changed the price on me by $250 right after I chose my color and was ready to pay. This was after spending 2 days of back and forth messaging to ask any and every question possible and waiting two days to have him come out and measure to see the exact costs involved. After I questioned him on why the price jumped at the last minute when I had not added any new items that I had not mentioned in the past he got rude and indignant and tried to say that something that I had already asked about twice and that he included in the price estimate in our text message thread was not mentioned by me. Uh. Yes it was. I showed him the text. It's right there in black and white. He just shrugged and held his new inflated price. WTF? As far as I'm concerned nobody needs this type of service. I'm glad that he's not doing the counters anyway. The next guy the stone company referred me to quoted me $300 less. Oh. Almost forgot the best part. This guy yes is licensed and insured, but he will work without actually using his insurance policy on your job so that he can quote you a lower price and get you to sign. Meaning if you don't ASK for insurance coverage - even if he has already told you that he has it - the job will not be insured! That's a really interesting business practice to tell someone that you're licensed and insured but then magically not insure the work they are coming to do for you. Some people don't care about that. Some do. If something goes wrong on an uninsured job, as he typically likes to work, YOU are paying for the problem/fixes/damage. Well worth it to ask yourself if that is a risk you would like to take for someone who at least to me did not properly represent himself. It's your choice, but I feel this very information is important for people to have.

Unfortunately for me - my experience with Abel was one of "Over promises, under delivery, a defective job, and poor communication". "Custom Kitchen Counters" by Abel - is an establishment that will promise you the world, will underquote the job, and do whatever it needs in order to lock down the bid. If you're relying on somebody that won't keep their word on the timeline, or will call you back, or won't give you countless excuses for weeks on in, along with a useless pile of excuses, then please be sure to note that this business is NOT for you. After the work that was done by Custom Kitchen Counters - I needed to go back, and hire ANOTHER "Kitchen & Counter" contractor to go in, and fix the job that Abel was originally hired for. Even the little things "the corners of the countertop", "the trim", and the part below the countertop, with the concrete that was applied was done with such poor workmanship - that it's unfortunate that I feel it's my obligation to share my experience with my peers. In the end - the job cost me an additional $4000-5000 to resolve (not including the money I wasted with Custom Kitchen Counters)... Very unfortunate, but even worst was the undue stress that was placed on us, as we dealt with a very difficult contractor. I hope to ensure all are aware to do their due diligence, and be weary to not always go with the contractor that underbids the job. Ask for references, maybe go see a couple homes of others that have had work done by this contractor, and don't just rely on Yelp - as we did on our initial interaction. Locations that sell the stone/material, are also a great place for providing a quality referral for this type of product. I am fully aware that there are bad apples in this industry, based on the experiences that I have had, I'm merely shedding light on one of them.
