We had a great experience with Lloyd at Colonial Granite. He really knows his stuff and is honest and will tell it to you straight. Unlike some of the other places in Richmond that we visited. We found the perfect slab there and everyone was responsive and good to work with throughout the process. Glad they were part of our kitchen remodel!

After a bad experience with another company, a friend recommended Colonial Granite. I will be forever grateful that they did. Every person I worked with was knowledgeable, helpful and kind. And, when the original stone I selected was not available, Lloyd jumped into action. Looking at options with Lloyd was great - he knew the right places to go and had specific options in mind. We accomplished more in 90 minutes than I did in two sessions with another company. In addition, he cut the stone and had it installed in less than one week. His on-site team was great. Every once in awhile you find someone who goes above and beyond - this is Lloyd and his team. If you are looking for someone who knows their stuff and will go above and beyond for you, go to Colonial Granite.

I used Colonial Granite for an apartment renovation and the entire process was effortless. I worked with Lloyd, to select a slab for fabrication. He quickly came and measured and the countertop was put in in less than 1 week. It looks terrific. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend Colonial Granite for commercial or residential projects.

I had the pleasure of working with Lloyd to fabricate and install a bathroom vanity countertop and sink for my home. At his shop I was able to not only explore material selections and talk to him about my project, but I also learned from his wealth of knowledge of the stone industry and our shared interest in helping others out. The process from material selection and design to installation was seamless; Lloyd was accessible, communicative, and precise with his work. I'm very pleased with the craftsmanship performed and I'm glad to have supported a local business that does amazing work and supports great local organizations. I highly recommend using colonial granite and quartz if you are thinking about buying new countertops. I want to say that honesty is the best virtue when it comes to running a business. Lloyd had priced some remnant pieces for my outdoor bar that I had built. He sent detailed pictures and I made the trip to check them out in person. I was going to be transporting the countertop myself and had picked out one to purchase. I had already paid the money and thought it was a done deal. Lloyd found a crack that wasn't visible to me and told me he couldn't sell it to me because it would probably crack. He honored his price and sold me from a slab that was even better than the one I had originally purchased. I could have easily bought the remnant piece that was cracked and because I was transporting myself if something happened it would have been impossible to know when or how it happened. I appreciate that he went to this length to make sure I was getting a quality piece of stone. Don't hesitate to buy from them. Top notch over there!

I would give them 10 stars if I could! I would highly recommend Colonial Granite, I wouldn't use anyone else. We had a complex kitchen project, involving a full height backsplash in an old house. Not only did Colonial Granite have the best price and selections of slabs around, they also had the most skill of any granite company we've used in any of our projects. Lloyd and his team are fantastic, we can't thank them enough for their great work. When I was speaking with one of the employees looking at slabs, he said that some of them are like works of art, and he's absolutely correct -- they know stone like no one else. I highly recommend Lloyd and his team, you won't go wrong!

Lloyd and his team handled my small project perfectly. Needing a custom counter for my half bath, i reached out to them with my own measurements and an idea. Lloyd worked with my crazy hospital schedule to get this done. By phone or email, he was fast to respond. Picking out a piece of quartz was simple and quick, yet i never felt rushed as he showed me every piece and was patient with me. He even came out to measure himself and picked up my sink for the Final Cut. Turn around time was speedy. The craftsmanship of the final product was beautiful. The saying “you might as well do it, rather than pay someone to mess it up” never applied to this team. I would recommend Colonial Granite & Quartz Countertops to anyone in the area and would use them again.

I contracted Colonial Granite to do my Kitchen countertop after going through several Granite companies. I was impressed with how professional and smooth the process was but was more impressed with how efficient, professional and excellent the final work was. We normally dont do reviews but my wife and i decided to do this review because of the headache we went through before finally settling on Colonial Granite. There were several choices available and they offered a secondary site if we prefer even more choices. The installation crew were on-time, the finish work excellent and the cost was amongst the least we had out of about 8 offers. I will definitely recommend that you try them out if you need a counter top

Colonial Granite provides great value for their service, and performed exemplary through the entire process of installing new granite countertops in my kitchen. Lloyd helped my wife and I identify a beautiful slab of granite and was very responsive to any questions that we had prior to install. His team did a great job removing our old laminate countertops and installing the new centerpiece to our renovated kitchen. While this is certainly a no-frills business and with an unassuming location - I highly recommend going to Colonial Granite if you're considering replacing your countertops.

Contact Jessica received quotes, called numerous times , never heard back from them. Left several messages. No response and really disappointed to see this type of customer service they provided. I only gave them two stars because once I left a message on the phone concerning no one ever calling me back, I did get a call back but after that NO Response NO callback.

In 12/2015, Colonial Granite was asked to replace existing countertops in 2 bathrooms. At the beginning of the job, the workers removed the countertops. The plumbing that attached the sink to the wall was still slightly attached. Apparently, a ring had gotten caught. Rather than calling the homeowner, who was sitting downstairs, the workers yanked the countertops off and caused over $4,000 in damage including water damage, destroying the ceiling, and destroying a 4 month old couch. The owner DENIES any obligation to pay for any damage because the contract states that they do not complete plumbing work. That point is understood, but why wouldn't the worker check to ensure that the plumbing was completely unattached before causing the damage discussed. Why did I miss an entire day of work to be at home if the worker didn't need my assistance, since they don't do plumbing. Had the worker looked, he would have seen that the small piece was still attached. Contract or not, this is a customer service issue. As a business owner myself, if I had done this to a client, I would have been overly apologetic and paid the $1000 deductible as Lloyd promised. He verbally agreed to pay it and it has been over a year and 3 months since the incident. Still nothing. Yesterday we finally heard from our Insurance Company that Lloyd had filed the claim with his company. His company found that they are not liable for damages.
