Peter Kravchuk is the founder and CEO of New Day Construction, a Washington design-build remodeling company serving Bellevue, the Seattle Eastside, and communities throughout King and Snohomish counties.
Peter began his construction career in finish carpentry, learning the trade from his father before working as a subcontractor for an established general contractor in the Seattle area. He spent four years building his experience on high-end residential projects and now oversees residential projects from early planning through the final build. His work spans kitchen and bathroom remodeling, whole-home renovations, additions, ADUs, and ground-up residential construction.
Since launching New Day Construction in 2022, Peter has led more than 250 completed residential projects, including a multifamily duplex in Lake Stevens that he oversaw from raw lot development through turnkey delivery. His construction expertise has also been recognized outside New Day Construction. ABOUT ME
I got into construction through finish carpentry. My father was a finish carpenter, and I learned the trade working alongside him before going on to work as a subcontractor for an established general contractor in the Seattle area. I spent the next four years working on high-end residential projects, and I still look at projects through that finish carpenter's lens. When you spend enough time doing finish work, you learn pretty quickly that the part everyone sees at the end depends on everything that happened before it. If a wall is out of square, the cabinets tell you. If a rough-in is in the wrong place, the finish work tells you. If the trades aren't coordinated properly, eventually something doesn't line up. That taught me to pay attention to the whole project, not just my part of it.
In 2022, I started New Day Construction because I wanted to work directly with homeowners and stay involved from the first site visit through the final walkthrough. Since then, my work has grown from kitchens and bathrooms into larger interior remodels, home additions, ADUs, custom builds, and projects that start with a raw lot and go all the way through final delivery.
Early on, I described what I do pretty simply: “You bring us the plans and we can make them into a reality.” Today, I might walk into an existing kitchen and see much more than cabinets and countertops. I'm thinking about what is behind the walls, where the plumbing and electrical need to go, whether the layout makes sense, how the new work ties into the existing house, and what decisions need to be made now so they don't become expensive problems later.
One project that represents that progression is our multifamily duplex in Lake Stevens. I was involved from raw lot development through turnkey delivery, applying the same attention to detail I learned in finish carpentry across the entire build.
I still care about the same details I learned to pay attention to in finish carpentry. The difference today is that I get to apply that same attention to an entire project, from early planning through the finished build.
