The team at Universal Marble and Granite is exceptional to work with, and the product is superior. We are remodeling our kitchen and everything about working with this team went well- from going onsite to pick out the stone, to the delivery (using a crane to get the slab into the house!) and installation. Absolute perfection and professionalism. These guys are total pros and know exactly what they are doing. Highly recommend.

First of all, I am particular and difficult to please. That being said, I’ve had the very best experience with Universal Marble&Granite. They stand heads and shoulders above any company I’ve dealt with in 40 years. They have done stone countertops in our master bath and kitchen: professional, friendly, attention to detail and the best prices. Greg is knowledgeable and helpful. His installers are artists: my boldly patterned stones were perfectly matched at all seams. They even moved some furniture on their way out. I wish I could rate them higher than 5 stars and strongly recommend Universal to anyone who appreciates great work at a great price!

Had a great experience working with Greg and his team. The man who made the template for the kitchen island patiently helped me with deciding how to change the shape slightly. The installers were efficient and did a perfect job. Greg coordinated with the plumber and everything went smoothly. Love my quartz countertops with veins that match up beautifully. I will certainly use Universal again for future projects . Highly recommend!

We've moved 3 times in Charleston and have done 3 kitchen/countertop renovations and Universal Marble has been easily the best experience we've had with a vendor yet. Universal was recommended to me by the contractor who was remodeling our cabinets. It was a pleasure to work with the Universal team. Greg was knowledgeable and accommodating. He made the selection process easy, sending us home with a sample on our first visit. Greg also referred us to other contractors that we needed to modify our kitchen, and helped us line up the right dates for templating and installation. Our new counters fit better than the previous ones, and we love the new look. After installation, Greg was still responsive to any questions we have. We would definitely use Universal again.

This is the second job that I have had Greg and team complete for me. This time they transformed my dated kitchen into something that is fresh, light and bright. It is more enjoyable to be in the space now and complements the fireplace surround that they installed last fall. The matching of the veins on the waterfall edge and the turned overhang really shows the time that the team took to create a quality install. I am thrilled with the new kitchen and the countertops complete the transformation.

Fantastic! My countertops are beautiful and the service has been amazing- even compared to pre-covid service Greg and his team were great. Very responsive and quick they showed up and did everything within a week including dealing with MY mismeasurement of the space- they were able to get me a second slab of granite and cut and install them within the week. I really have no complaints- fantastic quality and customer service and pricing was about the same as other quotes I got in the area (who waited weeks to even return my calls) so I feel that for the quality the pricing was also great!

Greg and the team at Universal did not disappoint! I was having a very difficult time with other stores setting up appointments and getting quotes almost like they didn’t want my business. I was recommended to Greg and gave him a call, they had me come to the store first thing the next day. They have a large selection but I very quickly found the perfect stone (first thing I saw) with help from Kay. Pricing was very fair along and they exceeded expectations with installation. It was installed within the week with lots of communication from Greg as the process moved forward. I could not be happier with my countertops and the friendly assistance I received from Universal!

Very nice people working here and also a great selection of countertops to choose from! I visited the location and selected multiple countertop designs that I liked. I was told that they were busy working a big countertop project but that I would be contacted within a week or two to discuss next steps (quote, etc.). After not hearing back from them, I called them about 2 weeks later - this time I was told that I should expect to hear back from them within a week. Well, that was about 5 weeks ago, and I haven't heard back from them yet :-) Of course, I decided to reach out to other installers for my job. I can't comment on the quality of their work as I did not get to that point. I can only say that it seems that they can get pretty busy with jobs at times, and you may have some trouble communicating with them as a result. But again, they do seem to be very nice people!

Greg and Kay did an amazing job working with us and our contractor to identify what we liked and what we were trying to do with our kitchen. It just so happened he was working on getting a new design of quartz in stock called Calacatta Arizona, he showed us some pictures and we thought it would be perfect. Since he didn't have it in stock yet he arranged for us to look at some in person with his friend at another business. Once we gave the final green light, they got it installed less than a week later, it looks even better than what we could have hoped for! They even got it done with our two crazy doggos barking at them from the next room!

Where to start, I am a DIYer and I was remodeling my bathroom and was working with another granite shop that kept stringing me along by not delivering a bench seat for my shower. After waiting more than 5 weeks we gave up and contacted Greg and Kay and explained my situation. We picked out a piece and Greg had it cut and done in 2 days. Wow talk about great customer service!!!!! When it came time to get a vanity top we of course went back to Greg and he cut and installed a beautiful two sink piece which we love. There are many stone yards and fabricators, deciding on one was not easy task. Universal was recommended to us by a friend and after some exhaustive research we felt comfortable that they would provide a good product at a fair price. And, we were not disappointed, working with Greg and Kay was a pleasure. We had some "hiccups" but they made every effort to work through them. Our beautiful Quartzite leathered counters were installed yesterday. The fabrication was excellent, a barely noticeable seam. The entire team worked with a determination to deliver a great product. My husband and I highly recommend Universal.

The worst experience ever! Don't fall for the 5 star rating. Everything went great until they installed the countertops.The place where the 2 pieces of quartz meet : one side was higher than the other and not smooth. It felt rough and uneven to the fingertips. We talked to the owner Gregg about this. He sent the same guys who installed it, back out a couple days later. They couldn't fix it, so we talked to Gregg again, again ,again , again and again. He provided every excuse in the book, truck in shop, tool sent back to repair shop ( that's a good one since there is no such tool) and his guys were supposed to stop by after another job. This went on for over 2 months. The only thing saved that Universal Marble from not getting paid was the cabinet guy broke the quartz- so he replaced and fixed the tops. Gregg never once stepped foot in our house to look at the problem himself ( for over a period of 4 months ). You can take a chance but remember a liar will always tell lies and try to steal from you.

Worst experience with customer service I have had in more than a dozen years. Our kitchen counter was not measured correctly, no fault of ours! End result, no backsplash, not enough granite to complete the project . We had to fix the whole kitchen and given a $100.00 credit. The mistake was theirs! We suffered with time and money. Move on, do not choose this company.
