We had countertops installed by this company. The installers scratched the new cabinet, but we didn’t notice the scratch after the installers left our home. We contacted Lowe’s (we did kitchen remodeling through them) and they forwarded request to United Marble and Granite. After a few weeks, I received a call from United Marble stating that they were NOT going to fix the scratch because we signed a paper agreeing that they were not responsible for any damages. It is very disappointing that this company doesn’t take responsibility when they damage your property. Don’t recommend them!!

Custom vanity top with sink Pros: Installation guys, they offer remnants, quality of materials
Cons: Product late, took multiple calls, voicemails, emails, and dropping by several times for status, follow-up questions, to pick-up piece, then later schedule install. Even after it was a few days late I called to make sure it would be ready. Arrived and they still needed to drill faucet hole. Had to wait about 30 mins. Over all customer service/responsiveness from sales was very, very, very bad.

We ordered a countertop to be installed in our bathroom. When they came to install it they damaged two walls in our brand new bathroom. When I contacted them they said "it happens". I requested that they compensate us so we could pay to have those areas repaired and they said they would not do that and that if they credited me money back they would come rip the counter out. I asked to speak to the owner who I was told wasn't there. I asked to leave a message for him and was told that he is busy and I would have to call back the next day, which I did. This time I was told that the owner wasn't at his desk but he would call me back which never happened. We were VERY disappointed in the service and lack of response to our concern. We still have not been contacted by them regarding this situation. We are very disappointed in how this "wasn't handled" by them. We learned our lesson.

The staff at United Marble and Granite company was very professional and knowledgeable about the product they sell. They explained everything to me from start to finish. The experience I had with them was quick and non stressing. The template and the install was on time and as they described. I love my new kitchen. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to have any Marble or Granite work done.

I love working with these people and company!! Every single one of them went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and to make sure that we were totally happy with our kitchen remodel. As with every project, things can go wrong. However, these people handled it professionally, quickly and just the way I wanted it to be handled. The end project is beautiful! Thank you, United Granite, Paul and Burak. I love my new kitchen!

Very great service! We use the kitchen every single minute so we needed a very good product and UMG definitely had the best granite for us. It’s been more than 2 years now and the granite still looks new. I am very happy I worked with this team getting a remodel done. They are very professional with their work and they make sure to put a smile on your face.

I would highly recommend United Marble & Granite! We used them for installing our granite countertops. They were very helpful and attentive when we went there. Scheduling and installation was on time, efficient and very easy. They did a great job with installation. Our cooktop sits on countertop perfectly. The price was significantly less than the others that we got quoted. They did a great job. We get compliment on our countertops all the time. I am so happy it turned out so well.

We have had a very positive experience with this company. My husband and I came in with our 2 small children to view some granite counter tops. They were helpful and quickly showed us a few options based on our cabinet colors. Eko, the sales coordinator, even sent us more options via email that were more in our price range and suggested a quartz material instead since it is more durable for our lifestyle. He even helped connect us with sellers they work with for an affordable sink and tile backsplash. The process has been quick and easy so far. My husband and I agree that it has been the the best costumer service we have received since we started our kitchen remodel.

Just recently bought granite for my kitchen from this place and customer service was excellent from the moment I walked in. Personable service and reasonable prices. And let me tell you I had been to 7 different granite stores prior to coming here and their prices was by far the cheapest and the selection to choose from was plentiful! Customized and Installed in less than 7 days! Only setback was I wish they had the cutting board offered as a bonus when I ordered so it could match but I was given a board of different color for free so no complaints. Thanks UM&G!

A total and complete scam!!! They bait and switched us on our selection and refused to make it correct saying they sold our granite to another customer and never notified us. Insted they just made our project out of another granite hoping to slip it by us. They refused to correct the problem or refund our deposit!! Barak, the manager is a blatant manipulator and liar, so stay clear of this comapny at all cost. I'll be filing with the BBB, Consumer Affairs and the Attorney General. This is an intentially fraudulant operation that in my estimation won't be around very long. NOTE: We gave them every opportunity to resolve the matter in a reasonable manner.

The experience was not acceptable. Given that I have started and run a few businesses, here are some suggestions.
I would start with a redo of the company culture and sense of pride. A top down review of work quality, internal efficiencies and attitude require attention. There are people in positions there that need to be coached up or replaced. I suspect that the overall operation is subpar, there are issues with mid management as well. Accountability, clear direction and a focus on quality outcomes are lacking.
I would be sure that measurements of projects are accurate the first time, but certainly after the 2nd visit. Nope not even then. Next, it would be nice if the incorrect cut based on inaccurate measurements weren't forced into the space anyway, putting gouges in the walls. Why does it take almost 1 month to revisit a job site after the initial measurements were wrong the 1st time. Why is it that a residential customer with no experience is the field found all the issues, instead of your employees. The customer service and response times were completely substandard. I have escalated to Lowes HQ for resolution. I hope they come to you all with lots of questions. I hope that your answers match the documentation already provided to them.

Just had a Cambria countertop installation on Friday...it went smoothly and looks great!
I obtained 4 estimates before deciding to go with UMG. Worked with Camila. I changed my mind on the pattern 4 times. UMG had no problem giving me samples to take home with me, no hard sell. They had the lowest price out of the 4 estimates (by $3 per square foot ). Once I chose the pattern, they were out to do the template within the week. Kept the appt, no issues, the template guy was great, gave suggestions and left his contact in case something changed. Installation was scheduled within about 10 days. Install crew, Mario and George, we're awesome! Worked quickly and didn't leave a mess.
I would recommend UMG to anyone (my mom and my brother-in-law have used them too with no issues! )

Would highly recommend United Marble and Granite. I like them so much I keep coming back! This is the 2nd time I've used them. I shopped around before selecting United Marble and Granite and when other contractors told me they couldn't do something the way I wanted it, United Marble and Granite could!! Excellent customer service, huge selection, great prices and the installation guys were awesome. Everyone I came into contact with went above and beyond and made sure that the entire process, from beginning to end, exceeded my expectations. Thanks United Marble and Granite!

I don't know if there has been a change in management since the poor reviews from 2014 on here, but my experience was totally opposite. My local cabinet showroom uses United Marble & Granite. I have 72 sq.ft. of countertop that I wanted replaced. When United Marble had my favorite granite go on sale in December, she called me to tell me my dream granite was within my budget. I went up there on one of the coldest days, during the holiday season, to look at the slabs in person. They were very professional and courteous. I had to wait for the customer rep who handles my showroom to finish with another customer, and while I was waiting (at most 5 minutes) at least 3 people came to make sure I knew she would be with me shortly. They showed me the slabs outside, which involved moving some remnants so I could see the whole slab, and showed me around their fabricaction spaces and explained the entire process to me from templating, to the layout effort and digital photos they would provide, to the computerized cutting and finally installation. I had many questions about the layout and seams and the edges and even about individual granite characteristics. They took the time to explain everything to me. When the man came to template my counters, he arrived at the expected time, and he again answered every question I had, and worked with my husband to explain what we needed to do before installation and even helped investigate what my husband would have to do to the counters/cabiners . My counters were made and ready on time, and installed 7 days later as promised. The workmen were very experienced and very professional, and took their time to do the job right. Every question I had, they answered, every concern I had they addressed.

This was included in an email I sent to them:
It's been 1.5 weeks and no reply or status update. I know we're all busy and you can't always reply right away (24 hours) but 1.5 weeks is a whole different story. Had I known my business would be such an inconvenience to you, I would have taken it elsewhere.
I got to these folks by ordering my countertops through Lowes in Elkridge. At every opportunity, they have had the worst customer service; as in complete lack of. They take forever to do anything: as in take action, follow-up, communicate and progress our project along. If they give you a window of 'oh that normally takes 7-10 days', assume the longest period of time and add a couple more days.
The only reason why I give this a 2-star rating is b/c the guy who came out to template was on time, professional and seemed to know what he is doing.
As for anyone back at the office/factory, I really wish I would NOT have gone through United Marble & Granite. Especially considering how much you pay for the product/service, the 'service' given has been so disappointing.
I'll update this review when my product comes in and gets installed... ... ... (definitely not getting my hopes up)

Yelp won't let me leave zero stars, so this will have to do.
Horrible customer service and unwilling to answer questions about the installation, design, timeline for work.
Nobody there seems to understand how to return a call, let alone answer the phones, and there is a serious lack of communication from them.
They wound up cutting our counters wrong and would not return calls. Adding insult to injury: they wouldn't even provide a final bill/invoice after charging us $200 more than the initial estimate.
Do yourself a favor, avoid them at all costs

Truly terrible customer service. I chose to give the benefit of the doubt given the existing bad reviews, considering my job was just a few small remnant pieces of granite. I met with them on a Monday and was promised the pieces by the weekend. Three weeks and several unreturned phone calls later, I finally had enough. I was lied to during the second week when I called for status, with them saying they had returned my calls. At the end of the third week I finally got a hold of their manager. He lied and said it had only been 1.5 weeks. When I told him what horrible customer service they had and they had lost a customer for life, he kept responding OK OK. Never took ownership of anything. Stay away from this place.

Absolute worst company . Buyer beware. I purchased granite countertops from Lowes and went through United Marble & Granite to select my slab and schedule the installation. They took an very long time to get the installation scheduled . Once the Granite that was installed I noticed that it was of a very low quality despite the price we paid for it and completely different in feel from the sample in Lowes. It has scratches all over it. I understand that not all granite is smooth but in less than a year it has already started to chip with normal maintenance. We contacted both Lowes and United Granite and they refuse to respond or return phone calls after months of trying to get this resolved. I believe they are just waiting until our warranty is up. I would suggest you go to any other company besides this one.

We had a granite counter top and composite granite sink installed several years ago. Unfortunately, the undermount sink came disconnected from the countertop (about 1/4 inch almost all the way around. I called to have them repair this on a Saturday. I called again on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday. Spoke to someone each time and was told someone would get back with me that same day. I sent pictures to help them see what happened. I understood that is was not under warrenty and that was fine. Thursday I called another company and within 10 minutes I had an estimate and an appointment.

worst company I've ever dealt with.. My husband and I have been trying to have this company come out and measure our kitchen for new countertops. They don't set an actual appointment and instead call you the night before and expect you to follow through on any given time they give you. After they set you up with a time they will call back and set a new time and if that doesn't work for you they say they will call you later. They are very inflexible and it makes it impossible to schedule an appointment with them. Run away from this company as fast as you can.

Our bathroom was scheduled to be finished in June. Thanks to United Marble and Granite, it is now September and our bathroom is finally finished. They had ONE SMALL job.
Working with them initially was pleasant. Alexis was patient with my indecisiveness in the warehouse (except, yanno, when you're spending 25k on a remodel, you want to take some time and make sure everything is what you want). I appreciated her patience.
Every time I came in, I had to fill out a new new customer form because they had lost the previous. (I filled out four forms)
We were advised to wait until the week of the contractor coming in before selecting our remnant in case they -accidentally broke it-. I wonder how often that sort of thing happens there. Our AES contractor needed to have everything in so that they could get the job done in time, and UMG took almost a month to get everything in, delaying them and I hope giving AES a good hard look at the customer service and other practices of United Marble and Granite. By the way, AES, follow this link for alternative companies: http://bit.ly/1wgn2V4
We selected a sink, Alexis circled it in the book, as well as filling out the form, and photocopied it for me. She ordered the wrong sink. Ordinarily, I'd say this is fine. People make mistakes! But when I called to discuss it, her response was a very defensive and snotty "well I did MY job" rather than owning up. At this point, I was pretty upset because I promised my contractors that I'd do MY JOB and get everything in on time.
UMG never worked with us to establish an initial installation date. Alexis left one on our answering machine while we were out of state.
The installers came in with the countertop and sink on a new day (woohoo! finally) And then discovered a hairline fracture in the new sink.
At this point, Alexis never returned a single phone call. I had to physically go IN to the store to speak with someone. She said she'd call us as soon as it'd come in, but we didn't hear about it until we walked into the store. She also said installation would happen THE DAY it came in. It happened 5 days later. (Holiday nonwithstanding, we were a small job and I definitely FELT that way -- they put us on the backburner)
Second countertop comes in after waiting for weeks because of a backorder. Woohoo! Finally. Except AGAIN they did not SCHEDULE AN INSTALLATION TIME with us, and decided to come in when we were both going to be out. After a long conversation with the office manager, they agree to come in a little earlier.
The guys arrive, come in, plug their gear in to discover! Second countertop is CUT WRONG and DOES NOT FIT THE SINK.
I guess the third time is the charm.
Customer service from Alexis was horrific.
They never offered any sort of remediation after all of this. I intend to walk in and have a discussion with the manager.
I don't know if I could speak for the rest of the company, but I would avoid this place.
You might also note that this place has a few Better Business issues worth looking into. I wish I had known that beforehand.
Go to another company. UMG is NOT worth the frustration.

United Marble and Granite manufactured and installed a granite kitchen countertop. Their representative who measured for the new countertop and checked the existing countertop for levelness was very professional. He completed the work and told us our existing countertops were level enough to install the granite. The installation crew installed two of three pieces and said the existing countertops were ¾ inches off which prevented them from installing the third piece. We had the countertops checked and discovered they had installed the first two pieces of granite out of level. They also overworked (sanded too deep) the first seam badly. United Marble and Granite was very apologetic and stated they would make things right. They sent the same crew to install the third piece; fortunately they did a better (not great) job on the second seam but did nothing to fix the first seam. Very displeased with the overall quality of the stone cuts, polishing and installation. I would not use them again.

Don't waste your time pricing remnants here. The sales person we met with was a bit short with us, and had difficulty answering basic questions about their selection and pricing scheme. They couldn't give us a quote that day because someone was in a meeting. When we got their quote, it was over $1300 for a Cambria Bellingham 61" x 25" wet bar countertop for pick-up (yes, material and fabrication only, no measuring or installation). For comparison, we received a quote of $500 for the same piece at Atlas Stone & Granite in Odenton. The only explanation she could give me on their price was "well, this is an expensive piece, that's what it costs." Perhaps they do great full service kitchen countertops, but save yourself a trip on their remnants.

Does United Marble & Granite Company offer cutouts for sinks, cooktops, or other elements?
Yes, like most professional contractors in the market, United Marble & Granite Company performs cutouts and countertop preparation for various components — both standard and modern. According to our findings, these services are typically included in the overall project estimate. The standard scope usually covers cutouts for sinks (undermount, drop-in, or farmhouse) and holes for faucets or other plumbing fixtures. Additional cutouts — such as for cooktops, hidden or pop-up outlets, built-in wireless chargers, or other accessories — are discussed individually at the project planning and estimating stage.
It’s important to note that while the cutouts and countertop preparation are usually performed by the company, the installation of electrical and plumbing fixtures (such as faucets, outlets, or appliances) may not be included in their scope of work and could require licensed professionals. We recommend clarifying this point when placing your order.
To avoid misunderstandings, ask for a detailed estimate with a breakdown of all services: cutout pricing, installation, and any add-on options. This will ensure project transparency and help you clearly understand what you're paying for.
What guarantees does United Marble & Granite Company provide for its work?
According to our information and industry practice, United Marble & Granite Company, like most participants in the ranking, provides a workmanship warranty valid for 1 year from the date of countertop installation. This period is usually specified in the contract. We do not rule out that the company may have extended warranty terms (2 years or more), however, during our research, we did not receive confirmed data from the contractor regarding the duration and scope of its warranty.
The contractor’s warranty covers defects in fabrication and installation, such as uneven or separating seams, leveling and fastening issues, detachment or sagging of an undermount sink, flaws in edge finishing and cutouts, premature failure of seam materials, and cutouts that do not match the approved design. Warranty coverage does not include damage from use (thermal shock/burn marks from hot cookware, chips or cracks caused by impacts), stains and acid etching (for marble), wear due to insufficient maintenance or lack of sealing, natural characteristics of stone (veins, micro-pores, variations in shade/pattern within tolerances), shifts caused by base deformation, or any modifications performed by third parties.
The material warranty is provided by the manufacturer or the official stone supplier. Engineered quartz brands often offer a limited “lifetime” warranty for residential properties (subject to registration and compliance with care guidelines). For sintered surfaces, typical warranty periods range from 10 to 25 years. Natural stone usually does not come with a factory warranty — its quality of fabrication and installation is covered by the contractor’s warranty. The term and scope of the warranty depend on the project and materials — contact United Marble & Granite Company in any convenient way on this page to get the current terms.
