Very seldom do things go perfectly. During my kitchen and bath remodeling everything seemed to be going smoothly when we hit a bump in the road. It was a very short-lived bump because the people at the Granite Store heard my concerns and quickly and efficiently solved the problem. Thank you everyone for the excellent customer service. Sydney and the team at The Granite Store did a phenomenal job on helping us pick out what granite counter tops we wanted, as well as which sink / faucet would match perfectly with it. I have no idea how many projects these guys have done for me over the last 15 years... 65, 70 maybe. Working with stone is not an exact science and occasionally problems occur. The Granite Store installers and management have never once failed me. They even drove 5 hours to do a vacation home in N. Ga. for me once. I'm a customer for life. Mike Britt Construction 4 years after I submitted this review, I'm still a lifetime client.... and they've cut well over 100 pieces for me. Sydney, Cathy and Gary never let me down.

The Granite Store Design Center came recommended by a friend when we decided to build a pool house with full kitchen amenities. From the moment we walked into the beautiful showroom and were greeted by Sydney Weatherford, our experience was positive. Sydney helped us choose appropriate colors and style stone for our 14 foot island and kitchen counters (Fantasy Brown quartzite) as well as helping us choose the perfect granite for our bathrooms vanities and shower bench. She was patient, knowledgeable, and totally professional, answering every question, offering suggestions, and helping us problem solve…. no matter how many times we visited or called (which was often!). Oh, and she returned EVERY phone call we made PROMPTLY! During one visit, when Sydney was tied up, we had an opportunity to meet with Gary, who helped us choose bathroom sinks. He listened to our needs and offered perfect suggestions that were within our budget. When neither Sydney nor Gary were available, Cathy filled in with the same friendliness, promptness, and helpfulness. As customers, we appreciated their team work! I feel badly I can’t remember everyone’s names who worked on this project because they each deserve recognition for their efforts to make us happy, satisfied customers. The man who came to measure the space was prompt, extremely competent, and gave us solid advice. When the installers came to work, they showed up on time, stayed late, and did a beautiful job matching up the veins in the different pieces that were joined together. Unfortunately, we found a defect in the island (ripples in one area that cause an uneven area near one seam). When we discussed this with Sydney, she immediately sent a crew out to look at it. To make a long story short, the countertop needed to go back to the shop to see if it could be remedied, and, through the entire sequence of events, EVERY person that was involved did everything in their power to make the issue right, offering several options, including choosing new slabs if we wanted to. I am happy to report, the crews worked tirelessly to give us the counters we originally wanted with major improvements. In addition, they offered us a discount after all was said and done. If you are looking for an extensive selection of granite, quartzite, marble, and quartz products (and more!), GREAT service, and reasonable prices, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!

Buyer Beware Scheme going on with the (Store Management) at the Granite Store 1620 South Irby Street, Florence, SC My sister, brother-n-law and I visited the Granite Store and picked out a very nice Granite in May 2021. Our selected Granite was picked out and we went ahead then to picked out the backsplash from another store for a complete color scheme for our home. The bathrooms were installed okay; not the best installations grading the install as a B – C at best; two months later and when it was time to install the granite in our kitchen; no one informed us they no longer had the same selected granite for our kitchen. Without a telephone call to me at all; even though she had my cell phone number; the Store Management took it upon themselves to pick a different granite for our kitchen installed which didn’t match what we had already picked out for the backsplash in our kitchen. They sell you what’s in the store showroom. When it comes down to your actual installation and you think everything is fine; they installed what they have as a substitute of an unknown selection for our kitchen installation and made the decision to select our granite without hesitation. Not being on site at the time of the installation; we learned later that day what had happened. We’re the customer who’s paying and was not given the opportunity of making a new selection of the granite for our home. Store Management made this selection based on their opinion as to what they had in stock and not that of the homeowner of what will be the closet selection, bearing our color scheme in our home. At the end and without letting me speak directly to the store owner; the Manager mentioned we had no other choice other than to pick a new granite for installation and pay again for what was their error when we never agreed on their granite selection. Every consumer should be aware of this horrible installation which has been a bad experience for us knowing they make decisions for their bottom line to get consumers to pay again when they make the decision for covering up their mistake. Their full interest is about making money and have very little interest of any efforts of providing customer services at all!

I do LOT of remodels. I will say categorically that this is a great place to shop and have your counters done! I used them for my own home's kitchen counters, replacing our old granite tile with new solid granite for a HUGE improvement. Great quality and workmanship. pleasant and helpful installers and staff, good prices!

The ladies at the granite store were very helpful and gave me some excellent advice. The granite that I chose was very pricey even though I chose a partial piece from their stock and didn’t have to order a whole piece. But you cannot deny that it turned out great!

i am Sheila Harrelson of South Carolina and purchased a home here in South Carolina and purchased new kitchen cabinets. Of course after the cabinets I needed a counter top! I will be quite honest with you. My husband and I went EVERYWHERE shopping and looking for the perfect slab. We even went to the beach to find that slab and a half that was needed! During the entire time of shopping everywhere I would keep checking at the Granite Store. Ms. Kathy and Sydney were by far the friendliest of ALL the places we went to. These two ladies are very knowledgeable about their products, about the industry, their professionalism says so much about this company and themselves as well. There was NOT anyone else in the same field that myself nor my husband felt better about or with. I would STRONGLY suggest to anyone looking for counter tops to go and shop with Ms. Kathy or Sydney at the Granite Store, you can not be in better hands than these two women! Go see them for any of your counter top needs, you will not be disappointed! Hands down…. They are the best~!!!!

I started looking at granite at the Lumberton outlet of the granite store the employees they were great. They advised me to check out Myrtle Beach store and the Florence store. I went to the Myrtle Beach outlet and the guy was great. We then drove to the Florence store. The older bleach blonde lady came out to talk to us. She advised us we cannot be walking around looking at granite without someone there because we might break a leg. I showed her the color granite that I was looking for and she disagreed with me about the color. This lady was very arrogant and not Pleasant to talk with. She asked if I had my cabinets installed yet. I told her no it would be 2 to 3 more weeks. She stated more like 2 to 3 months. She stated once I got my cabinets to come back and talk to them about the granite. I told her I had a diagram and I needed 85 ft.² she told me that they did not have the color I was looking for and I should go to cosmos in Charlotte or Raleigh and pick out my granite and then call them back. she was very arrogant non-caring and treated us badly. I called back to speak to the manager. Then a young lady got on the phone and I asked if she was the manager she said yes I ask her name and she stated Tiffany. I explained how the older lady treated us she said she was sorry and wanted us to come back and talk about the granite. I told her no thanks I was not interested in buying granite from that company with employees like that. Now I find out Tiffany was not even the manager I was lied to again! Buyers beware of the Florence store.

I am sure they have great products but the salesclerk (older woman) who was tending the store treated my husband like crap. He needed enough granite for a backsplash and instead of trying to help, she gestured towards 'ehat they had in stock' and then walked away. She didn't try to help him match the stone to what we already have. It was ridiculous. We just bought a hige hiuse that needs a lot more granite. I gues they don't like business if they treat their potential customers like garbage.

Unfortunately, my review cannot be a positive one. Our experience was quite an ordeal. My husband was a contractor in New York, worked for many people considered millionaires, and always had a great working relationship with vendors and customers, alike. He is retired now and only takes on work that he chooses and is never without clients, even repeat clients. He recently had a small job, by The Granite Stores standards, to complete. He placed the order, they were perfectly willing at that time (early July-ish) to take the money, and was given a delivery date of 9/2/20. He called just prior to confirm. When that date arrived, not granite. He was told it was on the truck, but the first job of the day was experiencing plumbing difficulties. He was then told it would be delivered in two days. That day came and went with him being told it was on the truck ready for delivery. He was subsequently told of two more delivery dates with two more excuses. Thursday, September 10, ten days after the first promised delivery, and with 4 very untrue statements by the woman in charge, I went to the store to inquire about the delivery only to discover that the granite was just being cut that day! Why the untrue excuses?? Why not just tell the customer it is delayed?? No, I was told they were doing us a favor by taking this small order and would never be taking any more small orders. I then told the woman in charge that this transaction was not a favor as the service had been agreed upon and a deposit was accepted by the store. In fact, I was initially informed that day that they had no record of our deposit and expected to get payment from me at that time. That was not going to happen, as they did not have correct records. After I left the store, my husband was called and, contrary to the original agreement, was told he had to pay $200 more. No itemized bill/receipt was ever supplied for this transaction, which in and of itself is not a good business practice. The Granite Store seems to have built quiet a business for themselves. I applaud their business success, but if they treat customers like this, big or small, I wonder how they must treat those workers?? We were met with nothing but rudeness by the woman in charge, and yes, my husband got a little heated on one phone call, because he truly hates being what he considers lied to, repeatedly. I found this experience to be one of untruths, rudeness, and condescension. The granite did arrive, the workers installed it, and that part of the experience gets a 5 Star rating. After four untrue statements by the woman in charge, 4 lost days of work by my husband having to push his customer schedules back, threats by the woman in charge to have people come back and rip out the work that had been done, the business itself gets a zero rating. We have since found another granite business that is happy to do business with small or large orders and is much more pleasant. If asked for recommendations by present/future clients, we will be steering future granite needs customers away from doing business with The Granite Store, but will ultimately leave that decision to the customer. We do not wish The Granite Store any ill will, only that they would treat ALL customers with kindness, respect, and honesty.

I would rank "The Granite Store" less than one star if possible. Poor quality materials. Incompetent installers. Customer service is nonexistent. Horrible experience from start to finish. Incorrect measurements by installers, attempts to sell items that were not required, refusal to fix issues created by their staff, no one in management available to discuss the issues. Approx $4000.00 for subpar work and materials. Strongly recommend looking elsewhere for countertops or any other service they offer.
