Elvin has been such a delight to work with. From the moment I contacted him on Yelp, to the moment he installed our beautiful kitchen countertops he has been nothing but kind, polite and professional. He asked all the right questions, and told us all the options we could have to make our dream kitchen come to life, and really delivered. We had an issue with a small manufacturing defect on the quartz countertop, which we could only see after the installation and polishing the countertop. Elvin contacted the company on our behalf to get this sorted out. Working with him was very smooth, and easy (nothing of these nightmare contracting jobs I have heard about). Really glad we decided to work with him and I would work with him again!

We hired Elvin to replace our kitchen counters, in the context of a large scale remodel. He also fabricated 2 bathroom vanities, using the remnants from the quartzite. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a stone fabricator. Elvin was so easy to work with, was extremely professional, and does high quality work - he is a true craftsman! He cares deeply that the end product looks beautiful, and that you are happy with the final result. He was always very responsive on email, vcml and text and communicated clearly throughout the whole process. Our project was somewhat complex, and he skillfully helped us navigate a good layout that would work for the veins in the quartzite. He also fabricated a shelf that we installed above our cooktop, at no extra charge. The bathroom vanities and kitchen counters look amazing - Thank you so much Elvin!

I don’t typically write reviews but Elvin and team from SurfaceTopia completely exceeded my expectations! Elvin was very communicative over email and phone when I initially reached out. He was transparent on pricing and availability. His quote was competitive, and more importantly, I felt it was a really great value given the high quality. He spent several hours with my contractor to measure the kitchen before creating the template. He sought my input and also offered his expert opinion. You can tell he has years of experience based on his recommendations, always sharing the why behind them - I felt really confident that we’d avoid any “gotchas” when installing our quartzite countertops. My contractor also really enjoyed working with him - he was super collaborative with him and I felt like they truly worked as a team to ensure all details were considered. His attention to detail is unmatched! On the day of install, he was on time and made the experience seamless! The quality of the cutting and install was really impressive. Of the people I reached out to for a quote, Elvin was the most timely and helpful in his response, similar to what another reviewer said. I knew that was a good sign (with the comparable pricing), so we chose him. I'm glad we did as all went smoothly from there. In addition to his customer service, his final work was excellent. He made me feel at ease as he talked through the layout options and let me see how stone would be cut. We used the same stone for the counter and backsplash. He also used a piece of the stone for a half bath vanity. The end result looks beautiful. We're very satisfied. And, we'd highly recommend Elvin!

I recently had the experience working with Elvin on two fireplaces. I can say that Elvin was absolutely a pleasure to work with. From the beginning he made us feel extremely confident in our plan and even that we could stretch to a design we didn't think was possible. He also told us when we had to make choices that would preserve the long term quality of the work, such as when we had to cut pieces or not to prevent cracks. He goes above and beyond showing you 3D renderings using your actual piece of stone so you know exactly what you will get. He was also very gracious with his time, discussing with us how to orient our stone in the different pieces to ensure continuity of movement and avoiding imperfections. The final products are the showstoppers of our house. I've had friends say they want to redo their fireplace after seeing ours. If you are considering working with Surfacetopia, know that it is a really good idea and you will end up with exactly what you want and have a very smooth process as well.

I cannot recommend Elvin enough. We used his services to install new countertops in our kitchen, bringing up the same stone for the backsplash as well. He was one of 3 quotes we received for the project, and they were all in a very similar ballpark, but off the bat I was impressed with his timely and thorough responses to my questions. I chose to book him based on his online reviews, fair price, and great communication. From start to finish I felt like we made the right choice. He was so flexible in working with us - making our timelines work as we started the project but then had to pause longer than anticipated before install. He was open to making suggestions, but also listening to how I wanted the end product to turn out. I loved that we got proofs of what the finished countertop would look like, so we could confirm that the veining was just right between the slabs and the counter/backsplash. Finally, on day of install everything was completed on time, and it looks amazing. He really cares about the quality of his work, and you can tell. And he's just a nice guy. This was one of the most painless reno projects I have ever done, and that's saying a lot since most are relatively to very painful. Don't hesitate to book him.

I had such a wonderful time working with Elvin from our first email, to the actual work, and then the follow up as well. Elvin is kind, experienced, responsive, and very professional. At the first visit he came out to template the countertops, and brought so many samples for me to choose from (and gave me helpful guidance in terms of what material/style would be best for my needs). He also recommended that I actually go to the slab warehouse to see my actual piece before purchasing to make sure I actually liked it. I'm so grateful for his advice because when I saw the piece I had selected (based on the sample), I changed my mind. I was able to find a better slab to match the look I was going for. Before cutting the slab, Elvin sent me mock-ups of the entire countertop template to show me exactly where the veining would be and how he would match up the different slabs. At the install, Elvin and his team were so polite and professional and made sure to keep checking in with me throughout (e.g., placement of holes for soap dispenser). After completion, Elvin went over proper care techniques. Also, with the remaining slab he offered to 1) store them for me, and 2) make vanity countertops for my bathroom if I wanted too. He is so wonderful to work with and I am so happy with how the kitchen turned out.

Elvin is a master craftsman when it comes to fabrication and installation. One of the easiest people to work with during our kitchen renovation. He has a relaxed and easy going attitude, but professional mannerism and attentiveness to detail made the whole experience easy. He was also quick and responsive and was super helpful even before I received and signed a contract with him. Even with questions I had during off hours, he was quick to text back. He found us a great deal on a beautiful countertop for our new kitchen, and was able to install it the following week. Elvin is a master of his craft and did an amazing job on our kitchen countertops and waterfall! My fiancé and I purchased cabinets/counters from Home Depot and so they assigned us their choice of a countertop vendor to do the job. When we decided to change to a stone that was not on Home Depot's display there was a huge up-charge which prompted us to start searching for a new company to work with. Most vendors told us we needed 3 slabs to get the job done but Elvin was confident he could get it done in 2. However, because of the length of our peninsula and that our slab choice did not come "book matched", we were concerned how the waterfall seam would look. We asked Elvin to use 3 slabs to hopefully get our desired outcome but he was honest and advised us that another slab would be a waste of money. What he said started to make sense so we went with it and now all I can say is thank goodness we found Elvin and listened to him! The fiancé loves how everything turned out :)

This was a great experience getting a slab fabricated and installed in a fireplace surround, and a few extras. Elvin really knows what he is doing. I have dealt with the countertop installers used by big box type home improvement stores, and they were leagues beneath the service and quality provided by SurfaceTopia. I picked out a slab of Vermont Black granite and Elvin walked me though the pros and cons of color enhancer treatments vs. mineral oil vs. nothing. He came out to template and then returned for the install, on schedule. Highly recommend. Unquestionably, I would use him again.

There were some complicated cut-outs, but the work was extremely precise and clean. Between taking measurements and installing the quartz, the turnaround was very quick. Elvin even answered questions via email as I was attempting the cabinet installation myself. Our counters turned out wonderfully and we will certainly return to Elvin and Surfacetopia for future needs such as our bathroom vanity.

Elvin provide me a quote and timeline in a timely fashion. The price was not necessarily the least expensive, but was within our budget. He and his assistant came to my home right on time, made a template of the vanity and took the materials I provided. The following day, they came to do the installation. They laid out tarps to keep our hardwoods clean. Installed the top and sink all in a very short time. They were very professional and tidy. We couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome.

I got off to a bit of a rocky start with this business because the person I initially spoke to on the phone did not tell me that they only did countertop repair for their customers who had purchased countertops from them. Then there was a mix up with my phone number. They were trying to return texts to me but somehow were sending to someone else's number. I thought they were not responding and they thought I was not responding. However, once I called again and we got the mix up sorted out, they were very responsive. Elvin made an appointment to come out and repair the two chips on my quartz countertop. He did a very good job considering the material he had to work on. I am very satisfied with the work he did. Elvin is one of the best contractors I have worked with and I'm grateful that he helped me out on my project which was fabrication and installation of a kitchen backsplash, sill for an over the sink kitchen window, and sides of a kitchen peninsula. I had the kitchen countertops, which included the top of the kitchen peninsula, installed by a different contractor but wasn't overly impressed with their work. However, since I already had a working relationship with the original contractor, I was at first inclined to use him. Unfortunately, the slab I bought to complement the kitchen countertops required that either the long side ( ~ 9 ft) or the short side ( ~ 3 ft) of the kitchen peninsula would have to be made from 2 pieces of the slab and therefore required a seam running down it where the 2 pieces were joined together. Because the long side had a foot overhang for back of the counter seating whereas if the seam was on the short side it would be out in the open, I wanted to put the seam running underneath the foot long countertop overhang running down the middle of the long side of the peninsula. When I met with the original contractor to explain this, he didn't seem to understand the limitations under which we were working. He kept insisting that the long side should be cut as one whole piece. Afterwards, when I asked for his estimate, he told me that there wasn't enough material to work with and therefore didn't give me a bid. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I proceeded to get multiple bids on the project and in the process was able to meet Elvin, the owner of SurfaceTopia. He was punctual and a good listener as I explained the project to him. Further, he immediately understood the limitations under which we were working with the slab. He even performed a random act of kindness by helping me disconnect a bathroom faucet which I had been struggling with before he arrived. He made a very good impression, giving me the sense that he would be easy to work with and provide a high level of service. I was glad when his estimate for the work was very reasonable as he had been my top choice, before considering price, and my instincts were right when it came to his finished work. Elvin provides great service at a fair price. When Elvin came to make the templates for the project, we ran into another complication. Given the configuration of the kitchen peninsula, the slab along the short side could only join with the slab along the long side if the slab along the short side was offset from the short side of the peninsula by an inch or two. I had planned for this and wanted to use a cabinet filler strip which had come with the kitchen cabinets to fill the gap. I had spoken with the general contractor who was handling the whole house and he had initially agreed to cut the filler strip to the size we needed. However, he changed his mind and I told Elvin the bad news. Elvin was upfront with me and said that he did not have the tools required to make a finished cut along the wood cabinet filler strip. However, he had a better idea. He could extend the slab covering the short side of the kitchen peninsula to fill the gap. Genius! Further, what great customer service it showed for Elvin to adjust the work involved without charging me more after we had already agreed on a price. Elvin is a true craftsman with a good eye for design. Within a few days, I was able to meet with Elvin at his fabrication shop to plan the layout for the final cuts. I was originally thinking of using a certain part of the slab for the kitchen backsplash but Elvin pointed out that the veins on the slab at that point would not be a good match with the existing countertop. He recommended that we use a part of the slab that was more plain for the kitchen backsplash and then we could use a more decorative part of the slab for the kitchen window sill. I was reluctant at first because I had paid good money for the slab and wanted to show it off but Elvin made a good point. I went with his recommendation and am glad I did. Elvin makes sure the job is done right. The day of the install, Elvin and his crew arrived on time and efficiently went about their work. I was pleased when I saw the finished product and was glad I'd followed Elvin's advice on the kitchen backsplash. That's not to say that everything was perfect. Later that evening when I went back to the jobsite, I did notice a small part at the end of the kitchen backsplash had not been caulked. I called Elvin early the next morning to tell him. He quickly apologized and said that he remembered what I was talking about. He explained that he had run out of caulk and had meant to get more from his truck but then got distracted and forgot. True to his great service, he came over right away and fixed the issue. If you value top quality customer service and excellent work at a fair price then talk to Elvin! I will keep him in mind for future projects!

Elvin takes great pride in his craft and his business. His attention to detail, attentiveness, and super friendly nature made it so easy to work with him. I just wrapped a project where he installed quartzite slabs in my kitchen. I will definitely work with him on future projects and highly recommend him. In the initial templating appointment, Elvin asked what I was envisioning, carefully listened, and ideated along with me on layout and small details like how navigate the cabinet line and farmhouse sink. He took careful measurements and created a custom template to ensure a perfect fit with my old walls where not a straight edge is to be found. Elvin invited me down to his shop after emailing the layouts to see it in person and checking out samples of the hand-honed finish (originals slabs were polished). He was patient while I debated back and forth on the layout and gave thoughtful feedback on what he thought would look best. The shop was clean and organized and he even took time to show me around the machinery and talk about his technique. On install day he and a crew member arrived on time and carefully navigated the stone up stairs and several turns without damaging any walls. He kept me up to speed on progress throughout the day and carefully cleaned up the stone and dust around the kitchen. The fit and finish of his work was flawless. Elvin then surprised me with 2 cheeseboards he cut from the beautiful remnants of the sink cutout! What a bonus! I could tell he was personally proud of the work. And that's the kind of person you want collaborating with you on your hard-earned dream kitchen! Thank you, Elvin!! Can't wait to entertain friends in this beautiful kitchen!

Elvin did great work with the fabrication of the countertops. We're super happy with the way the countertops looks! I enjoyed working with Elvin, and his customer service is top notch! He's very prompt with his replies and he's flexible with his schedule. I've had to delay templating a few times due to delays with a garden window delivery, and he accommodated those changes. I also greatly appreciated that he made sure to control granite dust by using a vacuum while he's cutting faucet holes in the granite (from my experience, not all contractors care about dust control). Elvin and his crew were super nice and they took great care of the countertops and surroundings (cabinets/windows/appliances) even when they had to maneuver a large slab into my garden window. I'll definitely call Elvin for future projects and would recommend him to others! Thanks Elvin!

I was on a tight timeline to finish our home renovation for a newly purchased house, and I also was seeking someone who could deliver both countertop installation and tiling for the backsplash and the fireplace surround. I sent a request to many fabricators and tilers on Yelp, spoke to a few, and ended up going with Elvin based on a combination of competitive pricing, highly experienced, ability to move quickly on the project, and prior reviews. Elvin and his team delivered BEYOND our expectations: 1) leading up to the project, Elvin worked closely with me on the design, giving good advice on practical considerations (like counter depth) and style (like running the backsplash from the cabinets) as well as materials selection, 2) they worked overtime to get the job done, and 3) they did beautiful, careful work. The big modification was to go with a beautiful slab of quartzite for the fireplace instead of porcelain tile. Elvin had completed some high-end projects so he had really good remnants available at a great price. This even included a mitered return so this looks like a thick slab surrounding the fireplace. There were fine cuts in the material to avoid splitting from the heat. Really high-end quality in the end, this will be a major feature when entering the home. I will work with Elvin and SurfaceTopia in the future for sure.
