This rating is just for stone selection and service. Large variety of pieces to see what you would like. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I'll do another review after installation.

We recently purchased a home and had Straight Line replace our kitchen countertops with quartz countertops. Austin and his team were great to work with, and the final result was excellent. They were responsive to questions during the planning and install stages, and were quick to resolve an adjustment request we made during the install. The countertops look great, the edging quality was excellent, and it was a great experience overall. Would definitely recommend them and will be using them again if we decided to have any bathroom counters redone.

Straight Line Imports was exceptional with my kitchen countertop fabrication and installation. It began with Sharon in the office who is a delight! She was easy to talk with and her information from the contract to installation made me very comfortable. Rocky came out and measured everything and creating a template with paper and wood. We discussed extending a countertop to create a bar and how it would be supported. He gave me options for the edges and why a full bullnose might not be my best choice. He was right! He took the new sink with him to ensure it would fit exactly. Victor and Miguel from Toltec Remodeling (best contractor ever!) already had the plywood in and leveled. Rocky and Austin brought in the new countertops and installation went smoothly. The sink was perfect and they drilled the faucet hole onsite. I could not be happier with this. Everyone has commented that the look and quality of the quartz is stunning! I agree! Oh, they also sent me a thank you note. Who does that? If you are looking to update your counters, This is the company to use!

Amazing team to work with! From the initial contact with office staff, design assistance with the fabricators all the way through to the delivery team. Very helpful in recommending radius and edge detail for marble vanity top, shower sill and thresholds. Worked with me to get the best veining in the right spots. Even worked with the stone distributor to replace the slab due to some scratches that were noted prior to cutting. Very grateful that they took the extra time to do this once they realized it would impact the quality of the finished product. Would strongly recommend them and definitely will use them on future remodel jobs.

For my just completed kitchen remodel, once I chose my slab, the material had to be fabricated, and for that job, I worked with Straight Line Imports (www.straightlinecountertops.com) in Martinez. One of the great things they did was recommend against using the slab I had picked out because they thought it was in danger of breaking while they processed it because of some small cracks. So, I had it exchanged by the store where I bought it, for one of the same material that seemed more ready for the job. Straight Line took two weeks to prepare the stone for installation, then one day, six people, including the owner, arrived at my house to put it all in place. Three of the pieces weren't too tough to maneuver, but the fourth was ten feet long and weighed about 500 pounds and, as they said, was as fragile as glass. The way they installed it was an amazing team effort, and yes, a bit nerve wracking to watch. Now that it's in, I couldn't be any happier. The stone was exactly what I wanted, and it was fabricated and installed perfectly. Thanks Straight Line!

Beautiful work on our stone countertop. They also saw that our contractor placed our sink too far back and discussed this with me before starting fabrication. I truly appreciate it because I would have not been able to reach the faucet easily due to it being placed too far back. Thank you.

Thank you, Straight Line, another job perfectly done! That makes 1 kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a bar counter. Oh, and my kitchen table made with a quartz remnant from the bathroom quartz! Perfect service and attention to detail from initial contact to measuring, fabrication and installation. These jobs are over the course of about 6 years---same staff---Rocky, Austin, Martin and more. I appreciate your willingness to work with me, the customer. i,e. the tabletop, using remnants, etc. Thanks to All!

Lawrence is great! He makes you feel like you are his only customer... very responsive, personable, and professional. Austin knows his stuff, and measured the kitchen countertops to be straight even when our original base cabinets were a little off. And Rocky made the demo and installation of both the new kitchen and bath countertops with new sinks a breeze! Since this was not our first kitchen redo, my husband knew to temporarily reinstall the old sink and range top so we could use the kitchen (with plywood countertops) while we waited for the quartz to be fabricated. We were pleasantly surprised when the countertops were ready so quickly! We subcontracted a plumber to install the faucets and garbage disposal, so I won't review his work here...

Lawrence and the team at Straight Line were fantastic to work with throughout the entirety of my project (3 countertops, spanning several months). From getting an initial quote, revising my project several times over email (with mockups), sourcing my granite, and ultimately cutting and installing cabinets & sink, the team was a pleasure to work with. Straight Line did everything they could to accommodate my timelines and the finished products look great! More than anything I want to call out that the work was high quality, the pricing fair, and I felt that Straight Line was super trustworthy throughout. Highly recommend!

They did a fantastic job of cutting the porcelain tiles for our fireplace project. We gave them an extra tile in case of any breakages, but it wasn't needed. They cut mitered corners and bullnose edges. Perfect!

100% loved working with Vince and his team of professionals. I appreciated that they took the time to educate me on what stones would work best for my project given I did an outdoor area- I loved that they surprised me and got it ready ahead of time - I couldn't be happier nor could I ask for a better team of people to work with. Professional, honest, trust worthy, beyond fair in pricing. I heard over and over that they will work until the client is 100% satisfied. I honestly couldn't ask for a better experience.

We needed them to fabricate a piece of granite that I had left over from a previous job f and I wanted to use it for my vanity. There customer service was helpful and very knowledgeable for my project, you also can't bet the price they quoted me and in about a week I had an amazing vanity top. I definitely recommend them.

Update- an incredibly professional and helpful gentleman reached out upon reading my review. I decided to give them a second chance because of this. I described what I was looking for and came in to look at what they had in stock. He tagged a few different stones for us to look at and got a quote back to us in a timely fashion. We proceeded with the stone and install...and they did not disappoint, they did an INCREDIBLE job! I couldn't be happier with the stone, quality of work, timeliness and follow up. I will be using them again to update our bath and kitchen counters. Thank you Straight Line Imports!

Straight Line Imports, has a large remnants selection, and very reasonable prices. (They do slabs too) They are very friendly and take care of business from product selection to manufacturing and then installation. There work quality is excellent. And prices reasonable. I had search in San Leandro, Concord and Sacramento for the right piece for a bathroom counter-top. I did not want to pay for an entire slab for a 24" by 60" top. It is especially hard to find a good remnant pieces. I happened to find Straight Line Imports. I am so glad I did. They just are a friendly professional group to deal with.

We have worked with Straight Line twice for two bathroom remodels and have been very satisfied. My husband made the templates and did the install, but got the material through Straight Line. They did the cuts, bullnose, polishing and back splashes. Everything was perfect! I love the attention to detail and how the backsplash design was a perfect match to the counter top. Everyone was great, friendly and helpful - both in the office and the craftsman. We didn't use any install services, so can't speak to that, but we have been really happy. We have another bathroom to go, so will be back!

We learned of Straight Line Imports through our contractor, who suggested we look for some countertop remnants here to save costs. On our first visit, selection was a little low, so we decided to come back the next two consecutive weekends. Selection varies each week as new remnants are received, or someone cancels an order and making their selection available. We purchased two pieces, as we were remodeling two bathrooms. We picked out a nice piece that would complement the rooms nicely. The process to choose a piece and have it installed was easy. Bonnie, the owner, takes the stress out of this extra step for the buyer in the middle of making the renovations. There was a small issue that came up during the process, and Bonnie was quick to remedy the situation much to our satisfaction. She strives hard to make the overall process seamless for the customer and makes sure you are happy with the end result. I would definitely recommend Straight Line to anyone who wants to find quality granite or quartz counter tops. Varieties vary, so it is advised to make several trips. Bonnie and Straight Line was a pleasure to work with during this process!

we contacted Bonnie at Straight Line and sent her a sketch of what we were doing for our master bath. the bid was fair and the turn around time was fast. BUT we had a problem. our granite supplier would not deliver to Martinez from Sacramento. not to worry sez Bonnie, we'll go pick it up. the fee was reasonable and when they got it in the shop they were worried they could not match up the lines because we did not purchase a whole slab and there wasn't much room to work with. the granite was so busy we really weren't concerned and we were going to have four seams. But Bonnie and her crew were not to be deterred. amazingly they did match the pattern at the seams. Bonnie and her crew were a pleasure to work with. on the phone and in person. Straight Line imports will always be my go too fabricator. and they cam in ahead of schedule. and the bathroom is beautiful. WELL DONE Bonnie!

Exceptional customer service, start to finish! I recently remodeled my bathroom and needed a piece of marble for a side splash cut to size. The didn't sell me the marble (got it online and it was wrong) but bent over backwards to make it fit for me. When I went in to pick it up the team helped explain how to install it, and even gave me an tube of the stuff I needed at no cost. I called at least 4 places before finally being recommended to Straight Line and my experience couldn't have been better. Bonnie took the time to listen to my issue and brainstorm possible solutions, which they executed flawlessly for a great price. Oh, and it only took them a day to get it done. Highly recommend these guys and I'll definitely use them for my next project.

I have contracted with Straight Line Imports three separate time over the past year - Granite for the kitchen and bathroom, tile backsplash and now a natural stone floor for our entryway.. That must say something about the quality of their work - you don't go back a second and third time if you aren't completely satisfied.. Steve Neal, the top banana of the organization, is hands on and great to work with. He was extremely helpful in the planning stages of the job offering numerous valuable suggestions. The entire staff, from Bonnie, his secretary, to the installers, reflect Steve's dedication to perfection. They are not only friendly but their work quality is top-notch too . Looking back, I recall that I had previously selected another contractor to do my initial granite work. While doing further research I came upon "Straight Line". I was so impressed with their willingness to help, even tho I wasn't a customer, that I switched to them and never looked back. I would recommend "Straight Line" to all of my friends without reservation......

First and foremost the work itself was excellent and our new kitchen countertops look terrific. They did the demo & install and it was all great. Sharon in the office was terrific, too. Very responsive. What was less than terrific was the sample review process. We picked a surface based on a smallish sample. When the slabs were delivered we were instructed to come to Martinez to review and determine the layout. The slabs bore only a vague resemblance to the sample: a single faint line of white in the sample had morphed into a network of strong white lines in a parallel tiger-stripe pattern (on dark gray stone) that looked as though they'd been drawn on in an elementary school art class. We declined to move forward, and were told we could go to the warehouse in Hayward to see other slabs. That's what we did. All fine. Then we were informed of a restocking fee of nearly $600 for the returned slabs that was on us because it "wasn't Straight Line's fault." OK, but had we known we'd be liable for a $600 hit we'd have gone straight to Hayward in the first place to pick the slabs. Nobody told us about any of this until it was too late. I asked if we could split the cost with Straight Line and they said "sorry, no." So that's two stars off in my book.

Beware, Under New Ownership. Make sure you ask a lot of questions regarding details of what is included in the new inflated price! I worked with this company a few years back on my last house when Bonnie owned it and had a great experience. So when I bought my new house and wanted to replace the countertops they were the first I thought of. When I went to them and mentioned I had worked with them before, on my last house back in 2015, not one person mentioned that they were under new ownership. I signed my contract, and paid my deposit for the material. During a casual conversation with one of the girls that work in the office, I found out they are under new ownership. Might I add, all the girls in the office have been very nice. She mentioned Austin and some of the other long standing guys are still there so I thought, ok no big deal. The day of demo comes, I arrive home and find out that I now have no sink, dishwasher or stove top for a possible 2 weeks. This was not the situation with our last job nor was it ever mentioned to me when we signed our contract that I would have all 3 of these essentials out of commission. The contract only mentions having a plumber come in the day after install for plumbing but didn't mention anything about the sink being completely gone or my stove top and dishwasher. The demo guys also couldn't get the water to turn off under the sink so we had to pay $300 to have this fixed and went 2 days without water. Again not an issue last time since they had done the plumbing work previously. Extra $300 expense we were not expecting and frustration of not having our water on. Especially when we didn't realize we were not going to have a sink all together. They also mention the price includes plywood prep for the counters on demo day. They ended up only replacing part of the plywood and it was clear that it had needed to be replaced since part of it was unstable on our bar. Had to complain to have them fix this on install day. Onto the stovetop not being in use? Why? When we asked they just said we don't recommend it. Don't recommend it or you just didn't want to take the time to put it back in? When I asked my contractor, he said he didn't see any reason not to install it back in. Come install day, which I will mention got pushed up so I was happy about that. I come home to find that we cant put our outlet covers back on since they didn't cut the holes the right size on all of them. How does this even happen when outlets are all the same size? And some of them were correct and some were not. Sloppy work if you ask me! And still no stove top. The guy said things need to settle first. Ok this I understand, but shouldn't you have mentioned that prior once again? And scheduled this out so the right guy was available. Now I have to wait another 5 days to use it when the one guy that knows how to do this is back in. When trying to call the office while they were still open, no answer. Now called the next morning when they open, no answer. Once we get someone back to the house to cut the holes correctly, my husband asked him about the stove top. His answer with an attitude, I don't know that's not my job. You need to call the office, and leaves. Left without a stovetop for another 5days, we end up asking our contractor to put it back in. Yet ANOTHER unexpected cost! I requested to have the owner call me about my complaints and to schedule to stove top install and never heard from him now 6 days after install. I have found this experience very unprofessional and sloppy. They need to tighten up their process and set proper expectations. In a customer service business, setting expectations is everything. I walk away with a feeling of frustration and sloppy outcome at a price I paid much more than my last project. I feel almost cheated. In the end, my counters look nice but I would recommend going somewhere else to save yourself the extra cost, below par outcome and frustration. I have requested to speak to the owner since demo date so I can express my frustrations and still no call or voicemail.

I used Straight Line earlier in 2012 to do a laundry room granite install and it was fine. However, when contacting them again in November, 2012 and going to their "open house", to inquire about a new job, they didn't get back to me in a timely manner. Finding out, after a few weeks, that they couldn't find my match of granite. They never called me back either. Customer service??

No integrity, very poor service! Not the place to shop if you want respect or decent customer service. In the past, we have purchased remnant pieces of stone from here because of the excellent pricing and installation services. However, this summer, we had a very different and disappointing experience. We selected a large piece of marble for an outdoor dining space (full to partial sun) in coordination with the sales staff. Especially since it was for outside, we consulted with them on how the marble should be supported by the table base. It was determined our table base was too small, so we followed their instruction and purchased a flat piece of steel to support the new marble. The morning of the installation, the foreman determined that the table base+steel piece would not fully support the marble top sufficiently. We made immediate arrangements for further reinforcing and started dealing directly with the owner of SLI. From "Hello," he was dismissive. At one point, he told us that if we "don't want the marble," he has "a place for it in [his] garden." Later, we heard him ask the foreman, "Why are we catering to these people?" Pretty disappointing. Over the course of the next couple of hours and with many texts back and forth to determine strength and design of the reinforced table base, SLI determined that they could safely install the marble. During the installation, the table top slipped just minutely and the foreman said quietly to one of the guys, "You just let that fall." Fast forward about a week, and the marble table top has started to crack noticeably on the side where it slipped minutely. SLI sent out a team to evaluate how and why and what to do. The team blamed everything from the marble being "full of fissures" to "the heat from the sun." The final determination on-site was, "This [piece of marble] should have never been installed here," (after countless prior discussions with all levels of management) BUT, here's where it gets nutty: the foreman and employees felt fine expressing that regret to us, but once the owner was on the phone with them, they sang a different tune. Suddenly, it was our fault and there was nothing SLI could, would or should do to address the problems. Meanwhile, our marble table top is cracking all over and we're out nearly $1,000 (they demanded cash btw) for the purchase and installation. Will be taking our business somewhere else next time!

I'D KEEP LOOKING IF I WERE YOU Straight Line was the highest bid, did good work, but took 7 WEEKS TO INSTALL. Thought that by going with the highest bidder, we'd get what we would pay for... The granite shower wall cut out was too small to fit the height of a standard shampoo bottle--REALLY!!! YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD KNOW THE APPROPRIATE SIZE TO ACCOMODATE SHAMPOO BOTTLES. Thank goodness for Amazon!---Was able to order 8 oz shampoo bottles, and with a funnel, I can transfer shampoo into the Amazon bottles. Our ONE small bathroom took 4 sections to install---ONE SECTION WAS INSTALLED EVERY 2 WEEKS!!---Had to put my plumber, contractor, shower door fabricator, and mirror fabricator on hold for 6 extra weeks!!!.----Four sections should take 4 days for installation with most other granite fabricators. Rather than calling us out to Martinez ONE day to approve the template of each section of granite, they called us out 3 separate times to approve the cuts. My work schedule is booked 6 months out, my husband is VP at a software company, and just zipping out asap at their request was no simple task. The final product looks great, but the inflated price, and the constant "thanks for your patience" from Bonnie does not deserve a positive referral. $8300 for labor---Straight Line thinks they're better than they are.
