I hired Stone city to complete a remodel of my kitchen. Specifically cabinets and countertops. While it started off as a pleasant interaction, it went downhill quickly. The general contractor that was hired for my project cut corners, which ultimately resulted in bad plumbing which caused a leak into my basement that stone city refused to take care of, dishwasher not being mounted correctly into the countertop and dings and scratches on my brand new cabinets that required touchup paint that just did not give that finished look and a cabinet that was put installed incorrectly. The GC also broke a baseboard and stone city refused to replace it. Babu does not oversee the work of his GC so you’re often having to send messages through WhatsApp and wait for him to contact you. The only time I could get adequate response from Stone city was when it was related to payment. I sent a letter to their office prior to the completion of my job trying to resolve these matters, and my letter was ignored, as well as multiple text messages outlining the issues I was experiencing. I would caution you on using stone city for any services outside of countertops . If you do, I encourage you to review BBB and ensure that Babu is there every day to oversee the work.

I bought a vanity for my bathroom remodel and promptly broke the backsplash and also needed a sidesplash. I went to Stone City and Sanjana was SUPER nice and helpful. She found a piece that matched my vanity's countertop and had a backsplash and sidesplash cut for me within a week (probably would have been sooner but it was over Thanksgiving). Great customer service, great product. Highly recommend.

I live in Denver and have thought about a kitchen update for many years. I'm very happy I found Stone City. From the initial visit in my home by Sanjana and Babu to take measurements for a free estimate, through the final project, the entire crew was great to work with and very professional. I had many questions throughout the process and they patiently answered all of them. Eddie was also professional and helpful in making the project run smoothly. I updated my counter tops and cabinets for less than expected and absolutely love my new quartz counters, new sink, drawers and cabinets! It's light, bright and modern and such a big change. And, it only took days not weeks which was a huge consideration for me.

Horrible experience- I asked that the countertops be snug with the stove, they measured incorrectly and there are huge gaps, there was a chip they fixed by gluing it back on, large grout line at sink that they claimed would be unnoticeable, and to top it off the plumber had to come back four times because everything was leaking and the base cabinet is ruined. They came back out, made promises to fix things a month ago and are now ignoring calls.

The stone itself is gorgeous. The quality of performance was atrocious. These seams are hideous. An amateur could accomplish these seams. Attempting to resolve this was excuse filled tripe. Then they harassed to get a final pay, even though the deposit was 75%, they insisted on payment and do not stand on the quality of their work whatsoever. Strongly recommend using a stone company that doesn't complete hacker service.

I found Stone City by driving by. Right of i225 and Mississippi. I'm glad I did! The place feels like home when you walk inside, and you're treated as a guest immediately. Their selection is magnification, their craftsmanship is quality, and the service is spectacular! I measured for 3 bathroom counter tops and Babu and his crew hit the dimensions. The stone is beautiful, I almost count not decide what stone to choose. The under mount sink fit great, and the install groves they cut into the stone put added confidence that my sinks will stay put when used correctly. I was impressed by the selection and pricing. The stone is really something else. I cannot wait to have Babu and his crew do my kitchen next! Thanks a lot Stone City!

It was nice to work with a small company vs big box store for countertops. I worked with Ali. Ali is what I wish every company would strive to have from a customer service standpoint. Not "salesy", informative, responsive, etc.

Overall, a very POSITIVE experience with Stone City. We were looking for new countertops, and Manuel did a great job of quoting and showing us options. They have a lot to choose from. We opted for granite, and are pleased with the stone and quality. Stone City was quick to get them installed (within two weeks). There was a little lag-time when they ran into an issue with how it would fit between the sink and window. It required an extra piece of granite to build a sill, and it took a while for them to get it installed after the initial installation. Small thing, but again, overall they were very professional and the installers were top-notch. I recommend Stone City. You'll be impressed.

Stone City is such a great company to work with! They were able to complete not just our counter renovation but were also able to remove a raised island and some extra walls we had. They also were able to do the backsplash. They made our entire kitchen remodel seamless and as stress free as can be at a very reasonable cost. Eddie and all of his crew were so friendly and truly went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the outcome of the project. Truly thankful we went with Stone City for our project.

This is my second time working with Sanjana at Stone City for a project. She helped with countertops, cabinets, kitchen sink and window blinds. Sanjana is knowledgeable, helpful, and understands kitchen design very well. She was flexible when I proposed a custom cabinet color, and the finished kitchen looks amazing. The window blinds fit nicely and give the home a beautifully finished look. Thank you Stone City!

Stone City did a remarkable job with my full Kitchen Remodel. The did the design for the cabinets and made very valuable suggestions to incorporate more storage in my kitchen. My kitchen looks more open now with more storage and layout They did the cabinets, countertops and all the demo and installation. From start to finish it was a very good experience and would strongly recommend Stone City for any Kitchen Remodel

After much planning on flooring options, we landed up at StoneCity. The CEO Mr Babu was well versed with optimal home improvement ideas and even provided a phasewise approach. The crew who installed premium wood flooring were skilled in high-end installation techniques. They were committed, punctual and professional. I'd recommend StoneCity to anyone.

I had a very pleasant experience! I was referred by a co-work who was getting her bathroom counters installed after having Stone City doing her Kitchen last year. The pricing was great, the selection was okay, but I was able to find something I liked to go with my kitchen. I got the estimate fast as well as the confirmed measurements and install. Manan was wonderful to work with and the installers were pleasant as well. Such a beautiful job at a great price! The countertops really warmed up the blah kitchen. I highly recommend using Stone City and if/when we redo our bathrooms I will contact them again.

I had a very challenging project where we were not replacing our cabinets and island. In fact, some of the cabinets were very un-level. The Stone City installers were very knowledgable, and were able to solve the problem. And that doesn't even touch the fact that they were able to provide a huge island with only 1 seam. Would definitely recommend these guys.

Today is happy granite day!! We had originally contracted our kitchen remodel with Home Depot and we were told at contract signing that granite goes in 2 days after cabinets. Reality struck and I asked my project manager if that was true and he laughed out loud and said it would be 3-4 weeks after the cabinets were set. Fired them when I made a call to STONE CITY and Kate told me she could have us templated the day after cabinets went in and 6 days later our kitchen would be done....SOLD!!!!! Guess what, today is day 6 and the same crew that did the template, returned with our granite and they were done and gone in less than 2 hours. Great crew, on time, attention to detail and knowledgable!!! There were no errors in the cuts, measurements or polishing, everything fit like an absolute glove!!!! They had taken my under mount sink to the shop with them after templating to ensure an exact fit, and it is that, exact!! I would recommend this company to everyone and anyone!! Price was competitive and they literally bent over backwards to make sure this was a flawless transaction. Olga and Kate were on top of everything throughout the process, and they were very accommodating and professional!!!

We worked with Jeri on the showroom to show us our options and then walked the lot behind their showroom to actually pick out our individual pieces of granite. Unlike other places that you can buy your countertops, Stone City does the one stop approach from picking out your granite, to their in-house custom fabrication to their custom installs. Jeri was great and made us a great price that could not be beat by four competitors. They came to do the template a few days later, ordered the special ordered sink for us and then scheduled the delivery/installation. On the install day, Alfredo and Oscar arrived on time and were very nice and courteous. They asked if they could use the drive way. It's a pet peeve of mine if contractors don't ask to park in the drive way. They were super efficient and worked very well together. They answered all questions, addressed the little concerns we had about how to seal it later, what if we have issues, etc, and took the extra time to ensure that the job was done to my wife's satisfaction (she pays closed attention to the details). They were simply great. I will recommend Stone City to anyone that is looking for installation of custom countertops.

I would not recommend Stone City Stone under any circumstance. The owner does not understand customer service, he's argumentative and just a really poor business person. They do not properly supervise crews actually doing the work. The sales side of this equation was good...however the actual experience dealing with the owner on issues was horrendous. I understand you've got a choice on where you spend your money....I would be cautious if you decide to utilize this company.

Our experience with stone city llc started out pretty good. MK was helpful and got everything scheduled, pricing completed, and our granite and sink selected. The second phase the template happened on time, but this was done by a contractor not a stone city employee. This is when this company started to fail. On the day the countertop were to be installed I was told they had slipped off the truck and broken and install would have to be pushed from Tuesday to Friday. On Friday the installers showed up an hour and a half after the install window 9 to 10 became 11:30. During install the installer confused the direction of the one small piece that would require a seam, and proceeded to cut it which made the pice not fit. The installer then called the owner who said the could have a new piece the next day. The owner never called I had to contact him. This is when he told me they have a new machine and it would be Monday for install. I received no call on Monday and it wasn't till I again had to call that they sent out the installer who only half finished the job, no chalk on the edges. The whole time he was installing the pice he explained the darker color would go away and match. It didn't and the owner is unwilling to correct the issue. He did give a 10% discount on the job due to his delay causing a delay in my project but the countertops are now a mismatched color disappointment. I would be cautious with this company as they use the term industry standard a lot to explain shortcomings in their work. See picture of the countertop matching issue

We were remodeling our master bath and wanted granite countertops and a small bench in the shower stall itself. After reading all the bad reviews we were more than gunshy to buy from Stone City. The pricing was much lower than other granite shops so we went ahead with the purchase. Larry was our contact and did a good job. There were extra fees for stone overlaps we hadn't anticipated in our own measurements but they were reasonable and justified. They're stone selection is rather limited though. Seems like we should have been more careful in selecting out remodeling contractor as they did a poor job and left a mess. I would recommend Stone City to anyone. I've downgraded Stone City to only 2 stars. Remodeled our kitchen and went in to Stone and Cabinet City for a quote. Couldn't get anyone to give me a quote. Our former salesman, Larry, took down my info but never followed up. I won't waste my time going back again.

Please stay away from this business. Once they get the check, they have least regard for customers. No wonder they have disastrous reviews on yelp. We recently purchased cabinets for our wet bar from Stone City. Both the owner, Babu, and his employee, Sanjana, came to our home to take measurements. We explicitly requested wall cabinets with glass, obviously for display purposes in the bar. Later, my wife and I met Sanjana at Stone City, where we again discussed having glass cabinets. Sanjana even mentioned that we would need to have the interior of the cabinets painted to match the exterior since we were opting for clear glass, and we agreed to it. However, they sent us FROSTED (Opaque) glass cabinets, which was clearly a mistake on Sanjana's part. When I sent a picture to them, they immediately became defensive and blatantly lied, claiming that we had ordered frosted glass for our bar cabinets. Either Babu was misled by his employee, or they both deliberately tried to cover up their mistake. Instead of accepting their mistake, they ignored my call and responded with long whatsapp messages defending themselves and falsely blaming us for the order. I did not negotiate even a single dollar off their quoted price, and my biggest mistake was trusting them and handing over the check for the full amount without even opening the cabinets palet that they have sent. Trust is valuable in this world, but unfortunately, there are businesses like stone city waiting to take wrongful advantage of it. The only silver lining in this experience is that I am grateful I did not order my countertop from them as well. Babu and Sanjana, You both know what you have done is not right. I will never do business with you again, nor will I recommend you to anyone.

I would not use this company again. After spending thousands of dollars with this outfit, we discovered that when they left, that had not re-connected the gas line to our cooktop. Instead, they just left a disconnected gas line (!!!), which is a safety issue, of course. The company spokesman said they had someone new who "forgot" to mention that they would not re-connect the line -- but they could find someone to do it for $150!! Never again.

Do not use this company! Terrible communication and shoddy work. Babu tried to cut corners multiple times in the project, does not return calls or keep you informed of timelines. He forgot to order hardware and then tried to blame the manufacturer and shipping times. He ordered the wrong lazy Susan door and told the installer to just hang it upside down. Constantly cutting corners trying to get it done and that didn't even save them time. Took 7 months to complete the project and floors are already coming up, cabinets are crooked and falling off the hinges.

Mr. Owner of Stone City.. Babu?? Is a horrible businessman. He came to our home & measured for a new vanity countertop.. had his installers install the yesterday & it was an inch short!! We went in to talk to him, he was not there, didn't return our call for concern. We went in today and he was ranting and verbally abusive saying it was our fault!!! Tape measures don't lie, we measured the old & the new and definitely not the same measurements! Wish I could post pictures. This man insane to do business this way!! I was so scared of his yelling, I had to retreat from the store. He would not listen to reason and said everyone around there didn't feel good? What's that have to do with it?!! Do your research people! Do not use this company!! He is a nightmare!

I had Stone city put quartz in my expensively and beautifully wallpapered laundry room. First, the installers didn't tape around the wallpaper so their glue got on the wallpaper and ruined it. Second the slab on one counter was supposed to be wider to cover the cabinet edge. I've tried for at least 5 months to get Stone City to fix these issues. Babu came out and looked. Said they'd fix. Nothing done, Then they sent someone out to see what needed to be done. Nothing done. I've called and called and tried everything to get them to fix. Stone city did my kitchen two years ago. It was well done. The laundry room - NOT. I would not recommend them now. Go elsewhere.

We were excited when we found Stone City and how we were treated in the showroom. We decide to pay their higher cost because of the showroom treatment. April 2021 The installers made a huge mess and damaged so much sheetrock in the kitchen I had to hire another contactor to fix the walls ($350.00). I expected a few bumps and knew there would be a little paint touchup. This install crew didn't cut the caulk line from the backsplash to the wall and just ripped the caulk out of the joint. By doing this they ripped the finished sheetrock down to the paper. I wrestled with SC for a month after the install they would send someone out who could re-texture the wall so they would leave. They sent another crew out a week later with a can of texture and they made it worst that before. Babu/Padma you should have more pride in your customer service. I would suggest to any future customers don't get sucked in by the showroom treatment go somewhere else to spend your $6K. I forgot to also mention the seam at the sink is already cracking out after two months.

MESSY, NO COMMUNICATION AND TOO MUCH EFFORT ON CUSTOMER'S PART. The service was terrible and the work is just ok, they don't pay attention to fine detail nor do they care. I hired this company to do a Kitchen Refresh. The process started in Feb/Mar 2021 and here we are almost half way thru May and things still aren't done. They would be done had they done things right the first time. Numerous times there had to be touch-ups and re-do's because install and other things were done WRONG the first time around. The lack of communication in all aspects of this project have been painful, there is none. The day they refreshed the cabinets, they were at our house from 8a-8p w/o any word of how long they'd be there, we didn't plan to not have kitchen to cook in b/c nobody told us they'd be there that late, we were told it'd take 2 days, not 1 long one. If you want to do all the communicating, scheduling and follow-up...then this is your place. Not only do the owners and hired contractors not communicate: about being late, not showing up or details of each stage, they also are messy. Most recently there was paint work that needed to be redone and they used our spare bathroom to rinse brushes or something; paint all over the floor, counter top, toilet and decor w/o effort to clean up as well as a clogged sink. Each time work has been done there is saw dust all over, including our car in the garage which was used to cut stuff. The lack of considering for peoples time and things is unreal. On top of all of that, we ordered extra hardware for our pantry door and they installed the wrong color. To this day, I am still waiting on a call back from Babu for more fixes including chips in our brand new quartz counter top! I will never use nor recommend this company again; I have begged that the numerous touch-ups get done so I can move on and not have to keep following up.

Really terrible experience. After four tries which included the wrong measurement, wrong cut, pieces that were different colors, and mismatched sink countertops they have left and the pieces remaining are chipped and they've left a hole in the wall.... The only thing I can do is to warn others to stay away!

We began out kitchen remodel two months ago and needed fabricator for our existing granite. Initially stone city said they would only fabricate their material but a few days later they said they would handle the task. After we delivered our slabs to them we were told that they would give us a discount on the shortage..... We knew we provided more than enough material, and after we called them out they pulled back on the attempted up-sell. They to make matters more aggravating, they cut their own slabs rather than what we provided. They stated "we wouldn't be charged any extra" Once the install was scheduled we asked if there was anything we needed to do to prepare. They said just have things out of the way. The cloud of granite dust overwhelmed our entire house. I would have been nice to know in advance the amount of dust would be generated. We would have tented off the kitchen. They damaged our newly taped, mudded, and painted wall., misaligned the under-mount sink, cut a chunk out of our new cabinet spacer, and left layers of dust behind. After verbal complaints to the sales rep, the owner called. He stated that damage is part of the job and he could not know if dust would be an issue for individual customers. I told him that they should let people know so they could prepare if they wanted to. He would even consider the suggestion! If you are looking for craftsmanship and people that will be responsible for mishaps, DO NOT HIRE STONE CITY!!!!

Horrible experience. They left the job unfinished and damaged our cabinets. Babu the owner called me a liar and refused to talk to me at all. Ended up hanging up on me. Sergio the installer did half the job. It was awful. It may be cheap but you'll be horrified at the job they do.

Mistakes!!! A few years ago I remodeled my kitchen and used Stone City. It went very well only because of Scott - my sales guy!!! He was awesome! I recently remodeled two bathrooms. Went back to them to buy the granite only and told them we only have two bathrooms so they will be done one after the other since we like to shower. So they knew they would be weeks apart. I also wanted square bisque sinks in my custom bathrooms. When the first slab was delivered it was a busy day with about 10 contractors in my house all at once because that's how it goes when you remodel. Not only did they send the guys with white sinks but they were round! I'm about a month into the remodel and thought should I call and have them re-do it and add another week or two onto the remodel or just let them install it. I let them install it and I called Larry and he said that they would do something for me. The next slab came weeks later when the vanity in the second bathroom was installed. Once again they sent me a white sink! OMG they did it again!!!!!! I was told initially that it would take about a week to get a bisque sink. The installer was very nice and he got on the phone to his boss and he told me to call the owner. The installer (who must be a 3rd party) showed up that afternoon with the bisque sink. So that's 3 mistakes!! This whole time I was told I would be compensated. A few days later a lady from the office called to get the final payment for the granite and make sure everything was ok. I said yes and that Larry said there would be compensation for all the mistakes. Larry and the owner started to throw all kinds of reasons for why they are not going to compensate me - if I knew that I would have told them weeks ago when they showed up with the wrong cut granite to return it and get me what I ordered square cut granite for square sinks. Anyways, long story short it was a nightmare dealing with Stone City who have no idea of what customer service means and think they can promise something and not follow through.

The purpose of this post is to post a complaint against Stone City located at 1620 S. Abilene Street, Unit G. Aurora, Colorado 80012. Stone City's Construction Division served as a General Contractor and managed a $20,000 total remodel of my master bathroom that was completed in February 2014. As part of this remodel, Stone City incorrectly installed a SteamSpa Steam Bath Generator. The specifications for this Steam Bath Generator as detailed in the User Guide required 8 Gauge Wire and a 30 Amp breaker. Unfortunately, Stone City incorrectly installed 10 Gauge Wire and a 40 AMP breaker. This brings me to my complaint. Recently, the Steam Bath Generator quit working. I had a licensed electrician come to fix the problem and was informed of the improper and incompetent installation conducted by Stone City. He informed me of several things: * The installation was not done according to specifications as explained above * They incorrectly installed a 40 AMP breaker because if they had used a 30 AMP breaker as prescribed in the User Guide, the breaker would have tripped and the Steamer would not have worked from the beginning. * The unit was not wired to code, represents and on-going fire hazard and would not pass inspection. Upon learning about this, I called Mr. Sridhar Babu Stone City's Owner, to see if he and I could discuss this situation and work towards a remedy. Honestly, given the fact that I've been living with a fire hazard for the better part of 5-years due to an incompetent installation, I thought he would be willing to work out a solution. Instead, he claimed that all he did was stonework, knew nothing about electricity, and that his warranty was only good for one-year. Unfortunately, given Mr. Babu's unwillingness to work with me, I am left to seek justice on my own. That said, I think it's important to bring this to your attention as I will no longer endorse Stone City as an upstanding business given their unwillingness to take care of customers when they have demonstrated incompetence regardless of how much time has passed.

3 months ago we decided to remodel our kitchen, since we are not even half a block away from stone City we decided to try them. After 2No show appointments we called and complain, they promised they are going to send someone. 2 days later a gentleman should up , after explaining everything to him he replied that he is not a cabinet installer and he is counter top installation person and he didn't know why would they send him since we don't have cabinets installed or ordered. After 15 minuets talking to him he promised that he is going to send someone to take the measurement for new cabinets. No one should up or called. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH TEAM!

Horrible customer service. Had issues with cabinets and countertops. The owner pushed blame on to me until I proved the issue was caused by his employee. He finally agreed to order replacement materials and said he would take care of it. After waiting weeks and never being called back I finally went and picked up materials and hired a finish carpenter to make their corrections. Do not use this company.

I purchased a bathroom vanity top which they fabricated incorrectly. They requested the exact dimensions of the cabinet and said they would add an overhang to all finished edges. They only added an overhang to 3 of 4 finished edges. Upon discovery of the issue, I attempted to contact the company on several different occasions only to be told that someone would call me back. After finally getting a hold of Larry, the sales person I had worked with, he would not discuss the issue and said I needed to speak with the owner of the company, Badu. Larry said he would have Badu, the owner contact me. Badu never contacted me. Bottom line if you have an issue with Stone City's work or products they will simply ignore you and not attempt to rectify the issue and just take your money. Fortunately, for me this was a small project, however I would hate to be in this situation with a much larger job like a kitchen.

I would stay away from this company at all cost (Stone City in Aurora Colorado). My husband and I bought some granite from Stone City. While doing install... they dropped the Granite slab down my front entry stairs, damaging brand new just installed stairs, walls, and tile flooring at the bottom entry way. The owner was BEYOND rude and condescending..... I wondering if that has anything to do with me being a women? They never fixed any of the damage. Cheap con artists.

Wow. Don't expect much in the way of customer service from these people. Missed deadlines, missed installation appointments, not completing a job as agreed, and not having the corrected piece ready when they say it will be. And all they can do is apologize, screw things up again, and argue with you. If they ever finish my piece, I'm done with this outfit.

Very disappointed in this company! We purposely waited for a month for a 20% off sale at Home Depot to buy countertops for our house. In the meantime, we decided to shop around a bit, and went to Stone City. Our sales rep was nice, but the quote came in much higher than the Home Depot sale price. I sent a copy of the Home Depot quote to Stone City, and asked if they would be willing to price match, because we would rather support a local business. Stone City agreed to price match, sent us a contract for the updated amount, and even scheduled the final measurements and installation. We signed and returned the contract, and paid a $3,070.16 deposit. Then, 2 days after the sale at Home Depot ended, Stone City called to say that they would no longer honor the contract! We were told that they had misjudged, and the job would actually require a larger slab, and there was no profit margin for them. We relied on their word (and the contract we signed!) and we missed out on the sale. We are now stuck paying an extra $1,000 for countertops. Home Depot quote for Pietra Quartz: $4,094.88 Stone City quote for Pietra Quartz: $5,077.78 *The promotional date was on the Home Depot quote that I forwarded the sales rep. I can only assume that they saw the promotional end date, and decided to pull the contract after the promotion ended. Never buy from this company!

Disappointed in service. There was an error in measuring. I took partial responsibility for the error because it was due to a sink I wanted installed. The sales person never informed me of the cost to fix the error which ended up being a few hundred dollars. I asked for an itemized bill. Never received a bill. Now they have sent me to collections. Very disappointing business practices that they would not send a written bill when requested because I never knew exactly what I was being billed for. I would never do that to a client of mine. Now I have to pay a bill I have no idea what it is for because I still do not have a written explanation.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE. The countertop they installed quickly cracked and when I had a specialist look at it for repair, it's because the stone is cheap and not what I paid for. Suspect a bait and switch situation !

I ordered some granite from MK a sales person with stone city. After it was installed they would not return the stone ruminants for some back splashes I wanted to cut. After about a dozen phone calls I was able to get them back. After paying my bill IN FULL they asked me for an additional $400.00 which was already paid. To add insult to injury I looked at the cabinet they cut out for the sink it was BADY DAMAGED by the installers with a saw. Good luck if you want to use these guy to install anything for you. HORRIBLE COMPANY!! Scratched up my brand new hardwood and refuses to own up to their installers mistake. The owner SRIDHAR BABU THUMMALAPENTA or " babu" as he calls himself is irrational, rude, and refuses to fix damage caused by his company. If you're looking for new countertops look elsewhere.

I had stumbled upon this business back in May when I was looking for hardwood flooring to install in the main level of my house. Scott and Christie went above and beyond helping me find flooring samples that might work with our color scheme, all while entertaining my 3 year old son. They even put me in touch with their flooring rep so he could address any of my concerns before making the final purchase. For that experience, I would give them 5 stars. After the wood was purchased and acclimating in my house, I found out from my installer that I needed to purchase a sound barrier to lay over the subfloor. I immediately contacted Christie, who gave me the specs of a good product, and decided to purchase it. An hour after purchasing this, I heard back from my installer, who found a similar product for half the price. When I called to cancel my order, I was told that I would be charged a 27% restocking fee (to the tune of $167) for the cancelled order. Not only did it seem ridiculous to be charged an expensive restocking fee on an item that had not yet left the warehouse, but this "policy" was never explained or in writing. For that, I can only give them 1 star. I really do try to buy from small, local companies, but this is a good example of why people buy from the big box stores...

Not that impressed went there took awhile to get someone to help us. After that moved pretty fast. Was told we would get numbers the next day. Week later no numbers. They call me to ask about the numbers told them I never got them. They sent them later that day, half ass quote thrown together. Not even including everything we wanted. They never followed up with us. So we took our business else where!

Our whole experience from beginning to end has been horrific! We have since heard so many other horror stories and I wish we would have done more research before using Stone City as our fabricator. The day our counters were to be installed Stone City dropped our marble island counter. A corner of our counter was chipped off and their first suggestion was to just round all of our island corners? We let them know that would not work for us. When they came back two days later with a shorter counter, no apology and no discount they installed the island and butler pantry marble counters. There was a small clamp mark on our island marble and we had asked if that was something that could be taken out. We know nothing about stone so we had no idea if the clamp mark could come out or not...they should know better. The installers told us that they could fix it and we had no reason to doubt them. They proceeded to buff out the clamp mark and they actually created a DIP in our counter. They buffed out an area approximately 35" x 12" and took away all of our honing in that area. This created a huge shiny area on our honed counters from the day the counters were installed and a dip where the clamp mark was. Please note that we had paid a full price upgrade for honed marble counters. We called Stone City to please send someone to fix the mess they made. It took many calls to even get anyone to talk to us. They sent their "master fabricator"...these are their words...to work on our counter. The man started to sand our marble counter with a circular sander and my husband quickly stopped him and asked him what he was doing. My husband asked him if he had the tools to re-create the honed surface and the man said no. My husband asked him to please leave. At this point Stone City had now added circular sander markers on our brand new marble island counter. We then proceeded to contact Stone City again and again over the next many months. We were NEVER contacted first and had to always contact them. We rarely had a returned call and no one was interested in getting our counter fixed. Despite many requests we only were able to talk to the owner one time. We then went out on our own and contacted a honing company to have them look at our counters and see what WE could do to fix the counters. PLEASE NOTE that at this time we thought WE would need to pay to have our counters fixed because Stone City was ignoring the mess they made and they acted like they just wanted us to go away. It took us SIX MONTHS to get Stone City to pay to have the island counter re-honed. Last Friday the honing company tried to fix the mess Stone City made. They had to re-hone the whole surface and it doesn't look at all like the counters we paid a lot for. The men did a wonderful job with what they could actually do but they always let us know they could never re-create the counters we paid for. Our counter was dropped and had to be re-sized. From the day our counters were installed we had a large surface that was shiny and buffed out the honing we had paid extra for and a significant dip where the clamp mark once was. We NEVER received an apology and were never told they would fix the problem. Not once. They would go months without calling us back and following up. We had to contact the honing company and arrange our counters to be fixed. It took 6 months to get our counters "fixed" and even now they are not what we paid for. There was no call from Stone City even after the honing was done to follow up. We spent a lot of money and had waited a long time to be able to upgrade our kitchen. It is so sad that we have never been able to enjoy what we paid for and that Stone City has so little respect for people's time and hard earned money. Everyone can make mistakes but to not acknowledge the mistake and to not do whatever you can to make things right in a timely manner is just horrible customer service. I would never go to Stone City again and I will be the biggest voice among people I know to tell them the same.
