We would normally solicit 3 quotes for a major project but starting with South Star Granite in North Charleston, and dealing with Tom, we eschewed any further quotes. Tom was professional, personable and responsive to our desires. Once we decided on our quartz slab, the process for templating, demolition and installation was timely, painless and frankly, perfect. The post install cleanup meticulous. With new countertops and a fresh coat of paint, our 1980’s kitchen has been transformed. It’s now bright and updated. Thanks Tom for a great experience. South Star Granite is highly recommended without reservation.

GO ELSEWHERE TO BUY YOUR QUARTZ. South Star does not stand behind their product. My 3 year old counters look absolutely terrible. I am OCD about keeping them clean and using the proper cleaners, cutting boards and nothing hot on them. The finish looks like it’s coming off. I was told “sorry about your luck”.

The office manager, Tom was WONDERFUL. Very informative, professional and personable. Loved my experience walking the remnant yard. Superb customer service! I would give them 10 stars if I could! We looked at multiple businesses for our countertops and decided to use South Star Granite not only because of their huge selection, but for their outstanding customer service! They were so easy to work with throughout the entire process, but I have been most impressed with their customer service afterwards. We have had a couple of issues (at no fault of theirs) and each time, they come right out, on time every time, and take care of the issue 1-2-3! The entire staff is super friendly and professional! From the beginning of working with South Star Granite, we could tell we were in good hands. The reviews encouraged us to give them a try, and we’re glad we did! Tom and his team are clearly very experienced and professional. We found a beautiful slab of quartz while looking around their store, and Tom was able to find a matching remnant left over while we were there, saving us hundreds of dollars. We are in love with how beautiful it is! The crew that came out to do the measurements and the other crew that did the countertop installation were clearly professionals. They made sure to explain what they were doing and made us feel involved and comfortable with decisions being made. They were polite, friendly, and clearly very knowledgeable & experienced. I was impressed by this company. Quality product, Competitive Price, Timely communication, and smooth delivery/installation. From the sales people in their showroom, to the contractor who came to install, everybody was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Their prices are perfect for all budgets. No hidden fees, no ‘gotcha.’ Would trust them again with my business should I need another project done. (The photos are missing my backsplash which I am installing myself so ignore my ugly walls.)

Excellent Customer Service and Flawless installation! My wife was researching countertop installation places for prices and the type of stone to use. She was driving by SourthStar on her way to an appointment with another vendor when she spotted SouthStar. We are so glad she did! The whole experience with SouthStar was perfect. Kaitlynn was very pleasant, knowledgeable, no pressure, and responded to all of our questions. She also told us about the pros and cons of the various types of stone slabs. Tom, who is on the production side has YEARS of knowledge and expertise. He answered all of my technical questions. The person who came out to take the measurements and do the template (Pinta) was very pleasant, measured very accurately since the countertops went in perfectly, and was also happy to answer my questions. The installation crew was very careful not to damage cabinets, walls, etc. They did a fantastic job. The job could not have gone any more perfect. In addition to superior Customer Service, materials, and installation, SouthStar is also unique in how they do their quotes. They provide a quote for EVERYTHING including installation. In visiting numerous countertop shops my wife discovered that many of the OTHER countertop vendors sell only the countertop, and if you want a quote, you have to notify your installation people. Who has “installation people”???? We did not. In these places, your installation people contact the countertop vendor, who gives the installation people the quote, who gives it to you. Who wants to do this? We wanted to visit a showroom, see the prices, tell them what we wanted, and get a quote. We wanted a one-stop-shop! SouthStar is a one-stop-shop. With SouthStar my wife communicated what we were looking for and provided our rough measurements and Kaitlynn showed her what was available in our price range for the ENTIRE JOB (material and installation)! And my wife received the quote within the hour, subject to the exact measurements that Pinta took when he came to our home. We would use SouthStar again hands down, and would not even go to any other places. And best of all, SouthStar gave us the best quote as compared to several other vendors.

Gorgeous and unique options of natural stone. Of course my husband picked the most expensive slab in the whole place, but boy what a statement its going to make in our new kitchen as the huge kitchen island. In comparison, the price for this rare quartzite was very reasonable. So if your looking for something unique, go check out South Star Granite in N. Charleston.

My Sales Rep. Steven who was very courteous, patient and kind help me with my sink and faucet combo selection and my granite selection with their fabricator. Very good experience with South Star Granite. From the first time I walked in, until the time the install was done, it only took about a month, and half of that was us deciding on which counter to go with. Very friendly office staff and professional installers. I only had about 35 sft, but they were in and out in 2 hours. Would definitely recommend to friends.

South Star Granite is truly as good as it gets. I walked in needing a rush job -- selection, measuring, cutting and installation that week! I went to a number of marble importers and fabricators and when I told them my timeline, they just laughed! The idea was not even worth considering. That is when I walked into South Star. The show room stood out for its curation. When I told them my timeline, they didn't laugh. They got to work. When I picked my Carrera Marble, I was stunned at how affordable it was compared to the competition. Remarkably, they are one of the few vertically integrated operations with the marble/granite and the fabrication under the same roof. This saves money and time. The result. Beautiful marble, installed with stellar craftsmanship that also happened to be surprisingly affordable. And, it was installed in time. It transformed our kitchen in time for our housewarming. I think they are the only shop in Charleston that could have met our timeline. I know they are the only one who could do it this well at this price. Truly a delightful experience.

Terrible install job many imperfection unfortunately. Herlane is very nice and professional; the granite selection is plentiful, beautiful and priced right. The installation however was the worst. First, the fireplace surround was cracked and poorly repaired with filler; thank god my husband noticed it. In addition the seams where poorly cut and filled. The owner was nice enough to come out and have it repaired. Unfortunately he sent the same installer who did a terrible job. We have lots of chips and imperfection which is unfortunate. The silcone on the backsplash /counter is missing. It is really too bad. Needless to say they need a different installer that takes more pride in his work. Worst granite install we ever had and the beautiful granite suffered with many imperfections.
