Great selection, amazing products, nice people, fast turn around. I tried to get tile backsplash from other local vendors and their wait was 4-6 weeks. I got mine in less than 2 from SL Marble. The staff was really helpful and called me to follow up. I also love the perfect-ness of the counters they did. Like perfectly level - so important when I have lots of water on my counters from dishes, etc. Before and after pictures really show that you don't have to get new cabinets and spend tens of thousands of dollars to have a "new" kitchen, just get good counter and backsplash and say "done!" Also, they beat Home Depot on counter installation quote time. If I had gone with Home Depot, I'd literally still be waiting for my countertop!

Hate writing a bad review but this is absolutely justified. I asked the installer if they could confirm a suspected hairline fracture in my soapstone slab on the day of installation. There was one more seasoned installer and a brand new guy on my project. They worked past 5 pm and hated every minute of it. Did not want to be there and it showed in both their attitudes and ultimately in the installation. Sloppy seams and a HUGE crack in my island slab. The head installer told me I was seeing a vein not a crack. It’s soapstone he said. He gaslit me and told me I didn’t know what I was seeing but I watched them lay the slab down with my own two eyes and saw a lot of pressure being applied to one side. I knew something was wrong when I saw the hairline. 1 year later sure enough this hairline crack is now a major crack that could cut a finger wide open. I think you need to come fix it before someone gets hurt and you have a bigger problem on your hands.

Just got my countertops from San Luis marble installed in our outdoor kitchen and they look fantastic. Hugo and his team were great to work with through the entire entire project. It took a bit longer than initially expected due to some changes, but he and his team were patient and adaptive, and worked through all of the challenges. The end product turned out great. San Luis Marble is amazing! They installed a few counters in our hair salon and they're beautiful! The customer service was top notch. Their inventory is large and they do the whole project from start to finish. We picked out our material in their slab yard, then they came out and measured. Shortly after they were there to install! Seamless from start to finish! Thank you!!

Yesterday Hugo and Salvador installed our quartz bath countertop. They did an excellent job, and left site clean and tidy. Hugo called to give me timeline so I could meet him at project. Professional, friendly and a good listener. He had me approve exact locations for faucet handles before drilling holes. Highly recommend this team along with Thomas from San Luis Marble. We will definitely hire for future projects.

I am not a fan of using contractors for work done on my house. I would rather do everything myself. So when my husband suggested we look for a contractor for our partial kitchen remodel, I was skeptical and hesitant. After walking thru a few stone companies/showrooms in the Santa Maria area, we chose San Luis Marble. I was pleasantly surprised with the whole process of working with them. Not only did we love our sales person, we also got a phone number where a live customer service rep would answer questions we had. Based on my 5-star review, it's obvious I am happy with the whole process. In a world where customer service doesn't seem to be as important as it once was, it is wonderful to see a company who still believes in its value. Ask for Dare in the Santa Maria office/showroom. She is great. I also got to meet the President of the company so that was an added bonus as well.

Melissa and her lovely daughter gave us just the help we needed. They were warm and welcoming, and understood our dilemma and had the perfect solution that we could do ourselves. SLM has a great selection of affordable remnants to update smaller countertops in your home. I was able to find two that matched my kitchen quartz and love it! Mike and Nelson showed up on time, were very considerate about COVID issues, clean up, and timeliness. This is my second experience with SLM and both teams did incredible work. I was ready for a complete renovation of the original guest bathroom in my home. I stopped by San Luis Marble's SLO location to review countertop options. Since it was a small surface, they recommended a remnant piece they had that fit my desired look perfectly! I provided the sink to them (preferred what I found vs what they had in the shop), and they put it together perfectly & fully installed it at a great price! Their attention to detail was 110% professional. I even have enough of the remnant piece left to do another small bathroom soon. I love it!

We purchased our new quartz countertops through Costco, and they connected us with San Luis Marble. From the first visit, I was impressed, the sales person Christi was a JOY to work with, she was great! She did everything she could for us to make this the best experience, all the way from that first estimate to the very end. It did take a little time for the counters to be created and installed, but we expected that (thanks to Christi) and they did all installation work in one day. They cleaned up after themselves, they communicated well, they were even very nice to my dogs. If you're looking for new countertops, definitely go SL Marble!

I cannot say enough good things about SL Marble. From conception to installation, we were pleased. We purchased quartz counter tops from Home Depot for our new kitchen, knowing SL Marble would be the installers. While it took a bit of time for them to be cut and installed, it was worth the wait. A++..... I tend to be a picky person, and SLO Marble made our whole experience very nice. We started out with our kitchen counter, and they made the entire process go smoothly, and did exactly what we asked, and right on time from start to finish. We then had them pick up and use our left over piece to install in the guest bath, and they got that in so fast that we're now having the master counter done also. Trici is the sales lady we've been with for it all, she and Erica are both an asset to this company. They know what they're doing, and were very helpful and polite with us each and every time. The cuts were all done perfectly, and the install crew topped it off by being friendly, polite, and right on time! Communication with all involved has been excellent. We did compare their pricing with two others locally, SLO Marble is right in there price wise, except the customer service is FAR superior. It has been SO very nice to find a company who does what they say, and when they say. For us, they are the very best. Thanks again! John and James, Los Osos

I used San Luis Marble for my recent kitchen and bathroom remodel. I found both Erika and Kerry very helpful and a lot of fun to work with. I also like their inventory and from my frequent visits, I am aware that they continually add more product lines. Easily, hands down the best place for full service marble, granite, tile design and installation. Years ago, Josh worked on my old house with vintage tile and it looks absolutely perfect, great workmanship. Several friends and family have remodeled their kitchens with granite (their inventory and display is amazing) and everyone is extremely happy. At every step - from design through purchase to install the process ran smoothly. I was completely and absolutely satisfied with my results. We've been having a great experience with San Luis Marble. Been looking for a counter top for our kitchen remodel. We've been to other places where the customer service was so-so. I had a coworker recommend this place and gave it a shot. Their selection on site isn't the largest in the area, however, why they have is really nice. Also their slabs are thicker which can help with saving in manufacturing costs. Other bonus is they are a turnkey business. They have materials, design, build, and install. Other places are suppliers only. The last great selling point is their customer service. Anna and Marlaine have been wonderful. They're friendly and provide great service. I highly recommend this place.

They did a good job and we are happy with the final result. Good quality installation and product but they could be better at coordination. We ordered through Home Depot because buying direct was much more for the same product and installation. The hand-offs back and forth between Home Depot and San Luis Marble were confusing and caused several delays.

I was looking for new counter tops and other kitchen work and took home the counter top pamphlet from Costco. I called them and they told me they work with San Luis Marble. I went there and looked at the Cambria quartz and found the perfect one. I was given a quote by email a few days later and we agreed to proceed. Danielle helped with all the Costco paperwork and everything went very smoothly. They recommended a contractor, Travis Rushing, and I couldn't have been happier with him and his crew. The template process and counter installation went very well and it looks absolutely beautiful. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because I found three "dull" streaks on my shiny new counters. I emailed and quickly received a response. One of their workers came to the house and said there was nothing that could be done. I feel like it should have been caught during fabrication and am disappointed that my otherwise flawless counters have these dull spots.

Updated review.......I give them 4 stars now because I recently received a phone call and they just delivered my large remnant that I was do. New staff on hand that did some good customer service clean up.............. I give them 2 stars because of their office staff attitudes. Sales person was OK but after you put down the deposit things change. The staff, in person or over the phone, make it very clear customers annoy them. The last straw for me was trying to get them to give me my remnants/pieces of left over quartz. I paid them $8000 total for my kitchen project which included 2 slabs. I was VERY clear early on about wanting my remnants after things were installed, 3 e-mails and 1 phone call with know results. I gave up and just felt I would let the Yelp world know. The quality of the quartz from the vendor they got it from was good and their installers worked hard and did a good job but man oh man their front office staff is worse than the DMV on a Monday AM. There are plenty of other counter top companies out there so keep looking past this company.

Recently, SLM installed countertops and backsplashes for our completely remodeled kitchen. When the installer arrived to do the install, we were told that a couple of pieces didn't get loaded on the truck. One piece was a TEN FOOT section of backsplash. I would think that that would be hard to miss. The installers did a great job installing the PIECES THAT THEY HAD. It was another TWO WEEKS before SLM came back to finish the install. This delay caused our Contactor to delay the finishing work another ONE WEEK. As you can see by the attached photo, the finish of the exposed end on the countertop is NOT a finished edge.

Overall happy with them but just a little annoyed at their scheduling conflicts. We picked a remnant from their remnant yard (they had tons to pick from which was great!), and then they said it could be up to 4 weeks for install which seemed a little crazy. Luckily they came through and installed a little sooner. But the day of install we were scheduled from 8-12pm and when they called that day, the installer told us that he had another job also scheduled from 8-12 so would be here when he could. By 4pm he called to say that first job was running behind due to fitting issues so he'd have to reschedule us for the next day. We were pretty annoyed because our job was so small (just bathroom counters) but it caused a bunch of plans to have to have to get changed on our end and I waisted a whole day waiting around for them. They then told me they'd be here at 8am the next day and it would be about 1.5 hours for install. They came late at 8:30 and left at 11am, again, causing more delay for us as we are doing a whole house remodel where one thing depends on another thing being completed. Seems like they didn't plan their day out accordingly and should have started with the small job first to knock it out and then moved on to the bigger job, but instead we got pushed back. It was all worth it in the end for the price we paid for the remnant and the options they had there but I'm just huge on being punctual.

Absolutely great people work here, but the management must be terrible, because there were so many dropped balls and errors on our order that it has to be process problems. We ordered Cambria countertops. The sales person Melissa was great taking the order and taking my money. However, after asking for status of scheduling several times over two weeks and getting "Oh, our scheduler must be busy..." replies, I said I was going to come to the showroom to see what was going on. Then, within the hour, I got a call from the scheduler who said that was the first he'd heard of the order. From there, Thomas (the scheduler) was great and everything went smoothly with our kitchen and bathroom countertops. Couldn't be happier. The tile we ordered however was a processing disaster. Again, with Melissa, after I told her our choices, she didn't follow up or check lead times on the tiles. That led to a fire drill on getting the tiles because we had our tile guy scheduled already. Dare took over and worked tirelessly to get us the tile. But mistakes were made throughout. Initially, only half the tile was ordered. Then with the second order, it wasn't quite the same size. This meant a second delivery fee. Then we realized we were short some tiles and they were ordered but shipped a way that cost us double what it should have been. The management team doesn't empower the employees to refund customers when mistakes are made that were not the customer's fault, causing extra costs. We lost our window with our tile guy and it took us 6 months to get back on his schedule. Not fun. The end result is beautiful, but with headaches all along the way. I would definitely get tile elsewhere.

Erika was great in the sales room, which gave me the false impression that we would receive excellent service. As soon as we selected our slab and paid for it everything changed. They failed to meet their promised deadline of installation on our project, which caused our entire project to come to a halt for ten days. They were supposed to bring the extra slab (about 1/3 of it) with them when they came to install but claimed they "forgot." My husband drove an hour with the truck to pick it up approximately three weeks later. When he got there our PAID for slab that they "forgot" to deliver was back up for resale. To top things off despite the fact that several guys were working there, they were to busy to help him load it in our truck and told him to come back in an hour. He had to load it by himself. I won't recommend them and won't use them when we do our entire house remodel in about six months.

Flawed business model. The sales gal was nice and the showroom was clean, orderly and showcased a good variety of products. The issue we found with this company was their business model. We were looking for a new counter for our guest bathroom. The size meant that we could opt for the "scrap" pieces. Now folks, these pieces were sold to a previous customer and these are the extra pieces that the customer choose to walk away from instead of cutting it for a coffee table or other project. Our quote for a counter included having an employee come to our home to make a template, cutting the stone, installation and the price of a previously-sold stone. That price was almost $900!!!! Seriously?! Here is the part that we were dumbfounded by: As we walked back to the showroom we heard stone breaking. The sales woman told us that their supply of scrap stone was so large and space was limited, so they were BREAKING the pieces to throw them away!!!! Economics lesson people! If the price is too high then DEMAND will DECREASE! Then you'll go and destroy product?! It's baffling. Now, here is a better option: The people who buy full slabs for thousands of dollars are not the same customers who are looking for a small, scrap piece of stone. Your goal is to make profit and provide steady employment; we get that. The ideal way to sell the scrap pieces would be to cover your cost to have an employee visit our home twice (create template and installation), cutting the stone and a nominal amount for the stone (ie: $50-100, which is not much to ask since you already sold it once!). With this business model, you can create more business - and profits - by adding a new customer market and your employees will have more work which may allow you to add more jobs to our county. We hope that the right changes can be made. If these options existed we would return. Thank you for your time.

Be very careful when using San Luis Marble. We used them last fall. They are the contractor through Home Depot that we had to use. This company asks you to do most of the work, provide "before" pics and measurements, and demanding a lot of my time to meet their requirements. Kat who answers the phone was not helpful, refused to contact the owner Josh when our install was not done correctly due to poor installation (measuring is off) etc, etc. While we love the color of the quartz we picked, using this company made my purchase a nightmare. The first quartz was cracked, (not their fault), but had to be re-ordered. Mostly it their attitude, they care little about actually helping a customer and we had to pay Home Depot in advance for our order. We recommend going to an actual home remodel or countertop store. Do NOT use Home Depot or this company and save yourself a big headache. Spend a little extra and have someone you hire actually do the work!

these are not honest people ! the owner "josh" in his own words said he practices bait and switch . you can go to home depot and he will do your work for half as much as if you deal direct with his storefront . i'm sorry but i made a mistake when having them do my work . i don't like dishonest people and that's the label when you start adding "extras" to raise the price after you sign the the contract . there are others in town that do good work , check the tile store for references . and this is not coming from just one dissatisfied customer but after talking to others it seems to be the way they do business . if the owner tells you this is the way it is , believe him !

I'm still waiting for a call back from a manager. I know it's only been 2 days but we have a problem. The granite was not supported to the product specs or to the San Luis Marble fabricator's (their own guy) recommendation and our job it at a stand still until this get s fixed. The contractor showed us where the problems are and our job is at a stand still until we get a response from SLM. Upon calling in yesterday and explaining our concerns, I thought we would receive a call back. Nope, Nada. So I called again today and still nothing. You can tell a lot about a company in the way they respond when you say there is a problem. People warned me. I should have listened.

I cannot even give this company one star. Our marble table cracked down the middle within six months of installation - the table is only used as our dining table. Daniel not only ignored my numerous calls, but stated that they do not guarantee their product and there is nothing they will do to repair or replace the marble table. They sent over two gentlemen to check on the installation, and while they said the stone was installed correctly they also said that marble does not 'crack" as this had unless it had had a flaw. Horrible service, poor quality product - extremely expensive Look anywhere else for marble but do not consider San Luis Marble

My first impression of SLO Marble was good. I thought their remnant program was a fair price. I have a small bathroom countertop and signed off on the measurements. I am not in the business of designing or measuring and had to rely on their expertise. I thought it would be perfect. When the project was finished, it was obvious that the person that measured the counter did it wrong. When I mentioned it to the installer, he said "some people like bigger countertops." I told him" I was not one of those people and this looks bad." When I called the salesperson, I was told I signed off on the project, and the person that measured my cabinet no longer works there. The next day everything shut down due to COVID. I remember when I was in the retail shop talking to the salesperson, she mentioned a large new hotel in SLO was unhappy with their work ... but they "signed off on the project." I should have known at that moment they would not be responsible for their work. Am writing this review because not only would they not make good on their mistake, but now they DOUBLED the price. I said I would pay the same price I paid before, but they said "I signed off on the paperwork and it was a long time ago" I did call right after this happened but the next day everything shut down. I am a victim of timing and the shutdown. But again, they are using that excuse to NOT fix their error. It's a small project and I wish they would do the right thing, but there was NO response to my request. I even asked my request to go to management or the owner. Again, no response. People need to know to get a second opinion before you sign off on paperwork -that they should have right the first time. OR use another company that has a better reputation.

Does San Luis Marble offer cutouts for sinks, cooktops, or other elements?
Yes, like most professional contractors in the market, San Luis Marble performs cutouts and countertop preparation for various components — both standard and modern. According to our findings, these services are typically included in the overall project estimate.
The standard scope usually covers cutouts for sinks (undermount, drop-in, or farmhouse) and holes for faucets or other plumbing fixtures. Additional cutouts — such as for cooktops, hidden or pop-up outlets, built-in wireless chargers, or other accessories — are discussed individually at the project planning and estimating stage.
It’s important to note that while the cutouts and countertop preparation are usually performed by the company, the installation of electrical and plumbing fixtures (such as faucets, outlets, or appliances) may not be included in their scope of work and could require licensed professionals. We recommend clarifying this point when placing your order.
To avoid misunderstandings, ask for a detailed estimate with a breakdown of all services: cutout pricing, installation, and any add-on options. This will ensure project transparency and help you clearly understand what you're paying for.
What guarantees does San Luis Marble provide for its work?
According to our information and industry practice, San Luis Marble, like most participants in the ranking, provides a workmanship warranty valid for 1 year from the date of countertop installation. This period is usually specified in the contract. We do not rule out that the company may have extended warranty terms (2 years or more), however, during our research, we did not receive confirmed data from the contractor regarding the duration and scope of its warranty.
The contractor’s warranty covers defects in fabrication and installation, such as uneven or separating seams, leveling and fastening issues, detachment or sagging of an undermount sink, flaws in edge finishing and cutouts, premature failure of seam materials, and cutouts that do not match the approved design. Warranty coverage does not include damage from use (thermal shock/burn marks from hot cookware, chips or cracks caused by impacts), stains and acid etching (for marble), wear due to insufficient maintenance or lack of sealing, natural characteristics of stone (veins, micro-pores, variations in shade/pattern within tolerances), shifts caused by base deformation, or any modifications performed by third parties.
The material warranty is provided by the manufacturer or the official stone supplier. Engineered quartz brands often offer a limited “lifetime” warranty for residential properties (subject to registration and compliance with care guidelines). For sintered surfaces, typical warranty periods range from 10 to 25 years. Natural stone usually does not come with a factory warranty — its quality of fabrication and installation is covered by the contractor’s warranty.
The term and scope of the warranty depend on the project and materials — contact San Luis Marble in any convenient way on this page to get the current terms.
