I had a horrible experience with contractors (read my other post), but the best part of my entire renovation was each time I worked with Rainbow Stone. When I wanted to design my kitchen, all I had to do was bring in the measurements. I sat with the fantastic sales people and they worked it all out with me and had a 3D design and cost within an hour. All extras and minor details were included. Later, when my contractor tried to screw me out of more money to do the counter tops, I went back to Rainbow Stone. They did an amazing job. Their installation team were true artists. We went with natural stone and they showed us the slabs and layer out exactly how all the veins would line up. They gave options and made sure we were happy before they did anything. They did amazing. I highly recommend Rainbow Stone. The service, options, quality, and price is the best in SoCal.

I recommend Rainbow Stone in Chula Vista for reasonably priced counter tops. May did a great job putting together the estimate for our kitchen counter tops based on photos and dimensions I brought to the store. Arnulfo took care of the demolition and Juan installed the counters. Everything went as planned and the counters look great!

Rainbow Stone is one of the most professional and easy companies I have used. We visited the Main Street store which has a huge selection of slabs and fair pricing for sinks. I shopped around and had absolute sticker shock when I received countertop quotes from Home Depot and Lowes. A friend recommended Rainbow Stone and I'm happy to have found this place. The selection is great and the prices are more reasonable. I can't speak on the quality until I've had more use on the countertops I had installed but so far they are beautiful and seem well made. Ernie (I think his actual name was Arnulfo but he said to call him Ernie after I butchered the pronunciation) and his crew did the installation and they did a fantastic job on the quality of the work. He bookmatched the edges of my island and the joints on the countertops were minimal because he chose the cuts in areas where it minimized contrast. There were some scheduling issues but overall the quality of the work was worth the wait.

The manager, Yanyan, was very helpful and made the whole process easy and very quick. The pricing was very good. Arnulfo and son did the installation and kept their work very professional. Demolition was quick and work was very clean. You can tell they really cared about their work and even made some suggestions on how the tile could be used. I absolutely loved the amount of stone selections they had in their warehouse. It's also very convenient that they provide you with a price list for all slabs on display. We worked with Yanyan from start to finish. We hit a small snag with the installer but Yanyan was able to get it all sorted out quickly. We'd definitely return for any future projects - great selection, prices, and easy to work with. All coordination/payment was handled via phone and email. Everything turned out great and we love our new countertops!

Adriana was amazing to work with. She was very helpful, knowledgeable and prompt. She stuck with me through all my changes and was super patient. Arnulfo and sons was the team that actually did the demo and installation of my counters. OMG! They were just as wonderful to work with. They were a tad late... BUT they finished in one day! They were very neat and clean. They left no damages and even fixed a misunderstanding on the plans. I'm sure he he was wasn't thrilled about it since they were packing up to leave. He made sure I was MORE than happy and in Love with my new countertops and sink.

I went into their Chula Vista store/warehouse and was not pressured by any sales person. We browsed through all the stones to meet our needs for our bathroom counters. Once we had a stone picked out, we went back into the office, gave my dimensions, got an estimate, and proceeded with moving forward. We opted for a full demo and installation of quartz countertops and sinks only. I am pleased with the service provided from start to finish including the price and timeframe.

We remodeled our kitchen and needed countertops. We shopped at many places in San Diego but always came back to rainbow because of the selection AND better prices. We chose the bianco antico granite and we could not be happier. We bought the 3 slabs, picked out the ones we wanted, scheduled a day for the installers to measure and they installed the next day after the measurements; a day early!! If we ever need countertops for a future project we will definitely be back!

I need a couple of slabs to complete my project. The previous homeowners purchased their existing countertops here, so I'm obliged to do the same if I want the countertops to match. I went in and found the customer service to be no worse than what you'd expect at any other trade store. I have no experience with their warehouse or returns department, but I don't anticipate any problems.

The best prices. If you need a countertop for your kitchen or bath, its tough to beat their price. The quartz countertops come with the edge already attached. So you don't have to choose what kind to use or have to pay extra for it. I spent a lot of time looking at the different colors and thinking it through. So that there would be little room for mistakes. The installers did a great job. But I had studied the plans and cuts and seams beforehand; to minimize any questions. I would tell you to be prepared for the whole job before you say yes. As you should know about any irregularities with your room and how these quartz counters do not fit like your old tile did. This material is harder than granite. Which is a plus for you, but with their low prices, cutting a new piece will bring about some tension between you and the installers and sales people. Their selection is big, but not like some others. Though it is nice to pick out your own piece right there. Not having to order it and then wait a week for it to come in. Its right there on the warehouse floor. They do not provide product samples. So, you'll have to take a sample of your own kitchen color to their place for matching color.

I was referred here by my dad who used Rainbow for his kitchen. This place by far had the best prices and selection I found. That is why I gave it 2 stars. However, that was the only good part about this place. Once I paid and scheduled things went down hill fast! The whole installation they said would take about 3 hours the installers were going to come at 9 so I took 1/2 the day off. they didn't show up till after 1. Once he finally did show up they tried to tell me the 3 slabs I bought wasn't enough to do my project, a 10x10' kitchen! Once the project finally started the installer said he could only work for a couple of hours because he had to pick up a family member. He left at 5 pm and said he would be back the next morning. At noon he still hadn't arrived so I again called the manager David. He showed little or no concern about my time and their commitment to the customer. At about 3:30 he showed, but could only work till 6 pm because he had a party! I couldn't believe the audacity of these people. The three hour job was now going into day three. They showed up on Sunday to cut the slab for the outdoor sink and ended up cutting wrong, even after I told them several times not to center it and drew them a picture! I had bought butcher block for one end. When I called the manager he said there was nothing he could do about the mistake since it was cut. He would not replace the slab to make it correct! Now I'm stuck trying to figure how to fix THEIR Mistakes!! The manager David showed the absolute WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! THE INSTALLERS ARE HORRIBLE!!

Inquired about having an inch trimmed off a 36" lip of custom cabinet laminate cabinetry from a beautiful 1999 remodel to fit a new fridge size. "You should call a handyman. We don't do that kind of thing. Liability." So Basically, if it's not a big job they're not willing to help someone out from the Chula vista community? Not asking for a service for free. Asking for a simple professional alterations to a cabinet. Lame. Someday I'll want a new kitchen cabinet for one of my 6 properties that need modernizing. Not only were we told our granite would be installed within a couple of days it nearly took 3 weeks all because the installers didn't communicate with the staff. now when the installers came into my home to install the granite they assume that I did not understand Spanish little dI'd they know that I understand Spanish, and they were downright disrespectful and disrespecting me in my own home. We were looking to replace our kitchen cabinets and countertop and went to this place because of a recommendation claiming good service. But we were disappointed and misled by the information given by the store manager during our multiple visits before we placing an order. We asked how long would the cabinets arrive after we placed an order and was told two weeks. We inquired about demolition/installation costs for cabinets and countertop and possible installation time. The price for the project seemed reasonable and before placing the order we were required to have measurements done by their contractor with a non-refundable fee. We scheduled for measurements and the contractor did not show up on scheduled time. I called back to find out what happened and was informed that manager forgot to contact contractor for the appointment, thus we had to reschedule. The following day, the manager contacted us to apologize for the mishap and proceeded to tell us that installation time would be delayed due to again, miscommunication between manager and contractor. We had to reconfigure other projects going on in our home to accommodate the new installation of these cabinets/counter top. Before making an initial payment, which required costs of material and labor, without a contract. We learned from manager that all the materials needed for our project were not all available and substitutions on cabinet size would have to be made to satisfy the space and other items in the order were out of stock for a minimum of six months. The manager suggested that we could change the order for those out to stock items. The options available were not appealing to us because it would change the way we had envisioned our project to go. We noticed there were too many negatives in this process before install that led us to not place an order and wonder what would have happened if we had gone forward with this project. Although the price for the project was attractive, we felt that we wouId have spent more money with unforeseen problems during the project and that this company would not be responsible for since there was no job contract. I did request for a partial refund of initial measurement in good faith but was immediately denied.

It has been over 3 months since we ordered our cabinets with really poor communication and updates for one specific part/cabinet that is still missing to complete our kitchen. We were told 3 weeks from time of purchase, then another month after that, then when no further communication happened and multiple times coming to the store to get clarification, we followed up again just to get status. We were told another date. Initially the service was great, it was speedy but if you're following up for missing items and there is no accountability by staff/managers, we absolutely regret coming here. Especially since the staff member forgot to order a piece not just once but multiple times. How are we as consumers to know what to order for our kitchen? This is YOUR job and not ours to figure out. If a customer requests management follow up, it should not take this long and more importantly, someone above the store manager should be dealing with these issues because obviously, the staff are just passing the buck to others to not deal with it. You're in the profession of customer service and sales. You already took our money with no way to mitigate or resolve things. One piece of our cabinet is still missing today and our last update was supposed to be on September 24th. It is almost 3 weeks from that date and no response again. We've e-mailed and called. Called again today and they said, the manager was off (again). I understand we are in COVID times and supply chains are delayed, but please and absolutely do not overpromise. We have been more than patient and. just need them to communicate appropriately & effectively especially when a response is solicited. This is unacceptable.

Purchased material, tried picking up a week ago and they were closed, as they should be considered our current pandemic with COVID-19. My problem is that assured my countertop installer, who went to the store b4 they shut down, that they would re open in a week. I relayed that info to my client who is expecting their tops to be installed today. They're still closed! They should have at the very least have a loader at the store for those clients who have already purchased their material. This can easily be achieved while maintaining social distancing!

I am not a complainer, and this is my first Yelp review. Although we are happy with how the project turned out (the stone looks beautiful), the scheduling, service and installation were challenging from beginning to end. The ladies in the showroom were very nice and helpful, however the manager, David was not. The original price I was quoted from another salesperson (in writing) was increased once he took over the transaction. His recommendation of seams on the diagonal were not good, a mistake that the installation foreman luckily corrected. The bar top required bracing, but I was told that the installers would not do that, which was surprising. I purchased the braces myself and ended up having to install them myself after the installers refused to do it. The worst part was when the electrical on an entire wall was accidentally knocked out during the installation of the backsplash. This, in itself was not such a big deal, anything can be fixed, but David's response was "we don't do electrical," and "how do I know you are telling me the truth?" I explained the situation to him and he did not believe me, even after I told him everything was new and working when the installation crew was working there all day... they were using the lights and outlets during the installation! He refused to accept any responsibility and was very rude and unprofessional over the phone, including not following up or returning my calls, essentially ignoring the problem. Fortunately, the installation foreman was a great guy and had a friend who was an electrician who volunteered to come out and troubleshoot and repair the problem... which was quick and simple (some wires were accidentally pulled loose during installation). He came out that evening and fixed the problem for us... no thanks to Rainbow Stone management! If it wasn't for this favor, I would have had to call an electrician and pay for the repair, and be without electricity in my kitchen for who knows how long. Lastly, there was quite a bit of glue left on the finished surface of the stone after the crew had left, which I had to remove myself with a razor blade. This should have been a routine part of the installation and part of the clean-up. It wasn't. In general, the clean-up was really bad. The countertops do look great... but the service was bad, and communications with the office manager were horrible. He does not understand the meaning of customer service and was really offensive. Beware!

I selected and fully paid for two pieces of prefabricated quartz along with the accompanying two pieces of 6" backsplash. I watched as the employee placed stickers with my name on the quartz pieces I selected. When my contractor went to pick up the material, Rainbow loaded his truck. Thankfully, my contractor was heads up and noticed the backsplash had not been loaded. When he asked about the two missing backsplash pieces, he was told the pieces were out of stock. Again, these were pieces that had already been bought and paid for, and literally had my name on them. I drove over to personally speak with staff. I was offered a $20.00 discount for the missing pieces, and I could take the slabs I had paid for, or I could get a refund. I was nearing the end of my project and just wanted my kitchen to be finished, so I took a look at in stock items. I was offered the "opportunity" to purchase different quartz slabs for over $400 more. When asked if I would get any discount to make things right, I was told "No". Are you kidding me? You just screwed me by somehow giving away the product I bought and paid for, and and now want me to pay you even more money? I took a full refund and purchased at another store, forcing me to wait another two weeks for my product to arrive. The customer care and service here is awful. Take your business elsewhere.

They charge a re-stocking fee if you ever try to return anything and they're far more expensive than other places. Don't go there, shop around.

I hate dealing with the guys in the office. Not the best customer service. Not to mention the language barrier. The guys in the warehouse seem to always be on break and take forever to load.

Horrible service - would give a ZERO if it was possible. After working with Rainbow Stone for nearly a month planning our kitchen and bathroom remodel, which included providing our address downtown the very first day and driving all the way to Chula Vista to provide my credit card for the deposit (which they charged over $2500 and have not yet refunded), they told us 2 days before our scheduled installation that they will not do the job because we live Downtown. This is after they had done two other kitchen and bathroom remodels for us in Downtown (yep, we were loyal customers) in the last year. If they no longer take jobs in Downtown, you'd think they would look at the address the day you gave it to them to see if it was in their serviceable area, so as not to waste their own time or our's. Nope, he waited until 2 days before our installation to call and tell us he was not doing the job...then he says if we pay $200 extra dollars he may be able to convince his installers to go Downtown. Feeling like we were being raked over the coals, we negotiated down to $150 extra (which we still felt was wrong but needed the job done). We arranged parking for the installers in our assigned spaces in the parking garage, met the installers there and showed them where they could cut the stone, and even spoke with a parking cop in front of them to verify that they were allowed to park in an off-street dirt parking area to cut the stone since they were not wanting to do it where we suggested (she told them yes, that they would not be ticketed). They refused to do the job and left. Now we have wasted a month, and have to start from square one. The rest of our remodel is complete and this was to be the final step. Will NEVER use Rainbow Stone again, nor will we ever recommend them (we had referred them in the past). Unexcusable.

David is the manager at this location and has not been able to help with any of the issues that have come up with his install team. We originally purchased a farm sink and 4 full slabs from this location and we were told they would install everything in one day. Wow sounds great..... Well just as I though it didn't happen that way. We ended up canceling the sink order from them and purchased a larger one from another location due to Rainbow stone only had one selection of a farm sink, no fault of theirs. Either way we would still want everything installed right? Install day: Installation team arrived 2.5 hours later then scheduled. Then say they can't install the farm sink. After calling and talking to the sales person and the manager David they now say they don't install sinks. What? You told me that you would install everything the day I purchased all the products from you? No we don't install sinks. She has it written on a piece of paper here that she told you we would not install the sink David says. I told him I could write something on a piece of paper right now that says she told me they would install it if that would make him feel better. After a huge debate with David he said he will try to find someone to install it but I would have to pay for the installation. Ok no problem, originally it was going to be free install of sink but I am sure the markup hid the install fee of the sink. Well David didn't find anyone and I ended up installing it later that night. The installers did a good job on what they could install without the sink there although they told my wife they would come the next morning and finish it if the sink was installed. The next morning my wife calls the installer to confirm again they are coming that morning and to let them know that we did in fact have the sink installed and we are ready for them. We were told then by the installers that they were coming later that morning. It is now 3:30 pm the second day and no installers are to be seen. Now the sales lady at Rainbow Stone say the installers wouldn't be back to finish until the 3rd day. My tile guys are trying to finish the floors and are waiting for the countertop people to come and finish so they can finish the tile. So my tile guy has to wait to finish the floor another day. Costing me more time, money and headaches. Well Rainbow Chula Vista I will now be telling everyone I know to not do business with you and what a non0organized company you are and how your sub-contractors push your jobs to the side.
