Dan Dunson, manager of Mill Creek, Norman, OK made our Karastan carpet purchase and installation a seamless pleasure from the store visit, to selecting a new Karastan product to measuring our 17-year-old Karastan carpeted areas. Arnold, the lead installer and his team were also a pleasure. They offered friendly smiles and were careful in removing and replacing furniture in exacts spots. All three were professional installers who vacuumed the newly carpeted rooms and thoroughly cleaned, the prepping area, our garage. Dan and his team were exceptional.Thank you!

The second after our carpet was installed, the customer service vanished entirely. I want to be thorough in this review to properly convey our experience accurately.
Install day: one of the contractors was literally chain-smoking the entire time he was here. He was smoking within two feet of my front door and then immediately opening it, and worst of all WHILE HE HANDLED OUR NEW CARPET. He literally had a cigarette between his fingers while holding it! Then he left an empty cigarette carton for me to dispose of, QT drinks, random trash, etc. They had one person with them that they were clearly teaching who spoke little to no English, and then just left him to finish up a significant portion of the job by himself. He at least was very kind and very respectful, and I’m glad he’s the one who ended up coming back to fix an issue yesterday.
Every time I spoke with our salesman (Mike) before the install, he was eager to help and answer questions and came off as a “nice guy.” They were supposed to take our old carpet that I pulled up myself but didn’t, and we had a VERY rough seam that needed to be fixed. I waited close to a week before I emailed Mike and he said that he would have them come back out to fix the seam and get the old carpet. I also asked if it was normal that there were massive amounts of carpet fibers everywhere (handfuls right after they left and still clogged my vacuum even last night) and he said he would reach out to the manufacturer. He did not get back to me regarding that. The next day, I emailed him asking for a timeframe for when they’d be coming back. He said he thought they already had and that he’d look into it. I asked him to please have someone call me to ensure someone is home and available. I work from home, but I am just as unavailable as someone working in an office most days. This was last Friday. He said “absolutely will” (he was short with me from here on out), then around 45 minutes later there were two contractors (one being the same as before, smoking a cigarette) ringing my doorbell. I was in a meeting, my dog was going crazy, then Mike called. I said I couldn’t talk because I was in meeting and that I was unavailable for the next hour, he responded sarcastically “so *pause*, you don’t want them to fix the seam?” He made it very awkward.
After our conversation, I checked my cameras and heard one of the contractors start cursing after Mike informed them I wasn’t available. They left without taking the old carpet, but even if they had tried, they wouldn’t have been able to because they arrived in a small van. I emailed Mike again, asking if we could schedule a specific time on Monday when I could be available around 2:00 PM during my lunch break. I also reiterated the need for a call before they arrived and pointed out that their van wasn’t big enough to haul away the carpet. Mike’s response? “Yeah, Monday should work. Sorry, I’m with people lol,” which struck me as unprofessional for a business email.
Despite my request, the contractors showed up at 12:00 PM yesterday without any notice from Mike. My office door is right next to the bad seam, so I couldn't work while they used their equipment. To top it all off, the contractors weren’t informed that they were supposed to take the old carpet, and again, they arrived in small vans (two this time). They were very confused, so I used Google Translate to communicate with them about it. They were great (the man that was left alone the first day, and a new younger man I hadn’t met yet). They somehow managed to pack both vans to the brim to fit the carpet, and I still haven't heard a word from Mike.
Overall, this experience has been incredibly frustrating. It’s disappointing to see how quickly a company’s attitude changes after they close the sale. We recently bought a larger home and have big plans, but after this experience, we won’t be returning customers.
