I had the opportunity to use Merl’s services and was glad I did. Service was excellent and quick, the people polite and friendly, and the cost much more reasonable than I expected. Their work is impeccable. I work in a home improvement store and am aware of quality. This company operates in quality.

Hired Merls in 2020 to install granite countertops. The day of install arrived and they brought the wrong sink. So I had to wait several hours for them to get the correct sink and come back to install my counters. Everything seemed mostly OK at the time. The next day I noticed that one of the screws they ran was splitting through the face of my cabinets. So I had to have them come out immediately and fix it. Then within days the counter started to discolor. I was told it was normal, probably a vein, etc. Then the seam split by about week 2-3. They admitted they had not properly prepared the seam to bond well. They ground it down to make it bond better, but now I had a huge ugly visible seam, and the counter was discoloring more, except places I kept permanently covered with cutting boards. They were perfect. Merls had told me to wash the counters with extremely diluted Dawn dish soap. So I used 2-3 drops per quart of water. Eventually the discoloration got so bad, I spent over 90 hours stripping it and resealing it with a professional quality product. And it discolored again. The vendor for the stripping and sealing product said I had been misled and that Dawn should never be used to clean the counters. Eventually a vendor rep for the granite slab came out and confirmed something was wrong with the slab and it shouldn't discolor within weeks. There was a lot of effort on the part of the granite vendor to blame it on me, because I cook and probably it was heavy grease build up or something. I was cleaning as instructed. After much back and forth, I got a little over half my money back. They did offer to replace it instead of money back, but I felt I had not been dealt with honestly, nor did they do a quality install, so we just went with the partial refund. I lived with it for 4 years until now. In that time the seam on the opposite side split, and I just put up with it. I've just had my counters replaced by Upstate Granite Solutions a few weeks ago and the experience was so different, a higher level of professionalism, better install process, better sealant on the counters, etc. There is absolutely no discoloration in the counters as yet and I don't expect there to be. The sealant UGS uses has a 40 year warranty. Also they were able to cut all the countertops with NO seams. The counters from Merls were not worth the hassle and heartache. If a granite countertop is something that is a once in a lifetime purchase for you, I suggest you go elsewhere. I have hesitated in writing this review for 4 years, but now having a radically different experience at UGS, I realize it is necessary to speak up. 2 stars instead of 1, since we were issued a partial refund.

We did most of our kitchen remodel ourselves, but knew we wanted the pros to handle the countertop installation. The crew from Merl's was absolutely first class. They went over options with us and made sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it. Friendly, professional, and efficient, Couldn't ask for anything more! We would 100% recommend them to anyone needing new countertops.

We were subcontracted through Lowe’s. We purchased a sink and Countertops. We were told during the first initial measurement that we would have to hire a plumber to hook up the plumbing for the sink which was not a problem. The day came to get the countertops installed, and they laid the sink down but did not clamp the sink or mount it to the countertops. That was an additional surprise fee from the plumber. After the two men that installed the countertops left, I quickly realized under the sink there was A small water puddle and a lot of sawdust. I’m finding saw dust under every single cabinet. Therefore, I have to clean re clean All of my dishes, rather than them, telling me to remove everything in the cabinets, which I would’ve been more happy to do. Apparently along the way, a piece of my backsplash got chipped above my sink too. We were told from Merls that apparently that happens sometimes. Countertops look great but won’t be using this business again.

Merl's did a great job on the counter top design and installation. We asked for some minor modifications to complete our kitchen as we desired. I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality counter tops..

Imagine my disappointment when I was told that Murrells was very good and for over two weeks I’ve been waiting for them to give me a call back after I sent all the information they requested and have yet to receive any contact from them whatsoever

These people are super helpful. They didn't mind taking a lot of time with me being picky and indecisive. They even helped look up different sink types for the counter top I wanted. Thank you all for being so patient and helpful. Go here instead of Lowe's or home Depot.

Merl's is the place to go for cabinets and countertops. We were completely satisfied from beginning to end. Gary Gingrich and his crews are amazing. They were easy to communicate with and very prompt to reply to calls or texts. The countertop crew (Mike & Robbie) had to bring heavy quartz countertops up steps, not just once, but twice. Some of the strongest guys I know! I highly recommend Merl's!!

I drove 1.5 hours each way to get to their showroom and it was worth every second!! I had talked to other countertop installers and there was no comparison!! The service I got from each person I dealt with at Merl’s was outstanding! Everyone was helpful, responsive, professional and did exactly what they promised - which is rare these days! And most important the finished product looks awesome! Thank you to everyone at Merl’s! Will definitely recommend you to anyone needing countertops!

Just had my new Corian sink & countertop installed. The two men who did the installation were professional, neat, and quick, here hardly an hour. I am so pleased & satisfied with their work.

We had new countertops installed today and we are very happy with the results. The installers were very friendly, and we can’t say enough good things about their workmanship. The young woman we met in the office, Valerie, was very nice, and Lamar kept in communication with us about installation and answered our questions. We would highly recommend this company!

The showroom was beautiful! The people were so friendly and knowledgeable! We'll be coming here for anything we need in the future! We live in Easley so that says a lot in my opinion!
