I ordered a quartz countertop for
My newly remodeled kitchen from Ikea. Leon’s countertops is the only installer/contractor for Ikea Bloomington. If I could give them a more negative star I would. They came to my home 4 times to install countertops and backsplash, once was to inspect off center sink mounting
And 3x to PRACTICE installing my
countertops. I say this because they lacked the skills to install in one visit. Here begins my nightmare with LEON’S COUNTERTOPS.
10/11/21
installers arrived. Did not know how to install Ikea sink so I got 1/2 of my countertop. They broke my backsplash for the other wall behind sink. It took the office 5 days to order a new backsplash after trying to talk me into having 2 backsplash pieces glued together. When they told me it had been broken I said “reorder and call me when it’s ready.” Wasn’t done.
10/13/21
2 other installers arrived to mount other countertop without the backsplash. They did not center sink in the cabinet. Ran countertop into 2 newly dry walled and painted walls. Cut the faucet hole in my kitchen. This created a cloud of toxic quartz dust that my dogs and I had to breathe. Dust covered my clean kitchen and living area. While cleaning up the mess I noticed the off center sink installation.

Manuel Leon arrives to inspect off center sink to see if it can be fixed. I show him the 3 walls where on each visit the installers had run countertop into walls scraping drywall and paint. He said that could be expected when they do an installation. No apology given.

Stopped at Ikea. Left voicemail and email and had a meeting with Eva Davis in Ikea countertops. She was sympathetic and emailed Darcy at Leon’s Countertops.

3rd and final installation. 2 different installers. A total of 6 different installers have now entered my home for installation. Apparently using my kitchen as training. I asked the installers not to ruin my kitchen or the wall I had paid a contractor thousands of dollars to build. I said this twice. There as a FaceTime conversation with HUGO LEON. He assured me the sink could be centered. When my back is turned installers starts cutting into my newly installed wall that I asked him to not ruin. I became very angry so he gets his boss HUGO LEON on the phone again and he tells me I said they could cut into the wall. He refused to discuss that the sink not being centered was the last installers fault. I realized now that these installers spoke very little English. They covered the demolition up with the new backsplash. I did tell Mr. Leon that he would probably see me in court. I will post all photos below.
**No apologies from the Leon’s. They unapologetically used my kitchen as training for their untrained labor.
**That was 7 weeks to get a countertop from IKEA/LEON’S COUNTERTOPS my entire total kitchen remodel took 5 weeks. I was without a sink for almost 3 months.
Please to keep your sanity go to Menards or
Anywhere else for your countertop.

We have been looking for the perfect countertop for our basement wet bar for a while. We went to Leon’s and were immediately helped by Juan. They helped us find our dream countertop and answered every one of my many, many questions. This company is awesome, we are so, so, so thankful to Juan for their help, care and kindness throughout this process (which admittedly has been scary since this was our first time purchasing a countertop). Juan deserves all the praise and recognition for being so incredible!
I will add photos later, once we have the countertop installed!

Fabulous selection and service! You can walk through the warehouse and look at the actual slabs you will be getting. The staff are all very polite and personable.
We were quoted three different materials (from what we liked on the production floor) and were told we could go from a quote to final install in 2.5-3 weeks. Prices seemed reasonable.
I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Fast, best price, hardest workers. I am so impressed! They had our countertops installed within 11 minutes of arriving. Eduardo was extremely responsive when I first reached out on a Saturday afternoon. He gave me pricing immediately when I sent over our dimensions. He also found the exact pieces we wanted in remnant stock and was able to discount the slabs because of this. Their pricing was lower than the other 3 fabricators I talked to, plus they had the best response times and service. Just simply impressive. Highly recommend! *these photos are right after the counters were installed, prior to our kitchen remodel being finished.

Beware of Juan their estimator. He uses excuses like “it was approved” as his defense instead of taking responsibility for his mistakes. I too take responsibility for not properly reviewing but the callous statements of Juan was the straw.
When signing the approval documents make absolutely certain Juan actually did the job transferring your dimensions to final draft as Leon’s has a pay first sue later policy if Juan makes mistakes.
You have absolutely zero recourse to hold back funds if Juan makes a mistake or for that even if their installers make mistakes or damages. Please do your research as Google does not link third party reviews.
There are multiple other reviews outside of Google that example Leons IKEA/Home Depot attitude toward customer service. I am happy this small test job helped me guide a client not to use Leon’s for lack of trust in their accepting liability.
Their measly offer to make Juan’s mistake was far too low to compensate my loss of time if Leon intends to address this review and say they made an offer to make it right. Of course I declined to accept as Juan will still be available to continue this lack luster service I experience. Not only in making mistakes on paper but even in payment links he’ll write to you to make a quick books payment and not send the link. That was my first red flag I missed when I entered their office to tender payment and was told they could not receive payment in their office.
The client I brought to Leon’s even said he received an email where Juan required payment but did not include the link to do so. (Double red flag)
It is in observation Leon is understaffed in the sales department as Juan really appears over burdened with the tasks of his duties to serve. I and my client, their future client, both did not receive a way to make payment and had to make inquiries how to tender payment. That is a red flag and only cost me a Ben Franklin to make this review.
I fortunately have the capibilities to correct Juan’s (and admittedly my) mistake. For that I forgive myself for not reviewing documentation with particularity and for ever walking through their doors.
Trust I had in the beginning as the operation they have built is very impressive. Unlike my client who I brought to Juan. He did a deep study of other reviews out side of Google that I wish I had done. They may have plenty of 5 stars but the interestingly missing element is the sales department’s ability to take accountability.

Leon’s helped us with a small project. They had the specific color we needed in stock for the best price I had found, and every step in the process was smooth, communication easy. Rescheduling a few times (due to project delays with our other installers) was handled cheerfully. Cannot say enough about their friendliness and efficiency and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

We recently installed granite countertop for our 40sq feet kitchen. It turned out very well . The finishing touches are also very good.
After selecting the granite from their ware house , it is measured and installed in a week.

Leon’s did an amazing job throughout the whole process. Melissa was so patient and helpful end to end. She always made herself available, responded immediately, helped choose colors, made sure we knew every part of the process, called showrooms when they weren’t answering, everything. She made this whole process so easy. When it was time to measure and install everything was right on time, installed to perfection, and cleaned up. Anyone looking for new countertops should save the time and trouble and just call Melissa at Leon’s. In a remodel with constant challenges, this was the only easy thing.

This is the worst place ever. They have no idea what they are doing and when you question them about it they finger point and blame the customer. They installed ountertops for my friend and made one edge square and the other edge rounded. One counter top was supposed to be 66" x 15" and they made it 64"x 13.5"!! When my friend called the manager (Melissa) about the incompetent employee who came to measure and the fact that she paid for a larger counter top and ended up with a smaller one, Melissa's excuse was she was looking over his shoulder too much and made him nervous? Isn't it the home owners right to do this especially when the employee appears to be incompetent!! When they lost her countertops they told her she had to find them. My friend had to call Canada herself to find out where they were. When the under mount sink was supposed to be placed under the countertops, apparently this was confusing to them so they took it out and dropped it in after the counter top was installed. When she called about this issue Melissa the manager again pointed fingers at the customer. Melissa then stopped calling back all together. When my friend put in a complaint to Ikea, Melissa bad mouthed my friend telling Ikea she was bother some and called them 3 times a day..Yes she did because they did not return the phone calls. My friend is devastated. She had to get a second job to buy the countertops. Leon's treated her with disrespect and ignorance. Do not do business with this company. They don't care about home owners once the bill is paid. Their employees are incompetent and Melissa the manager needs to take classes in customer service. Please go on yelp and see very similar reviews. This seems to be an issue with small jobs that are not important to them..

Titus Contracting has used Leon's for a while as a counter top supplier. When we decided to remodel our personal basement, we picked out some really FUN tops. They were SO quick & responsive during the order/measure process. Then, the icing on the cake came upon installation! Such professional, respectful, efficient & courteous installers. I was even impressed they double checked a few things and went thru the plans of what they were going to do, before they started working. We would HIGHLY recommend Leon's!!
