This is the fourth time we have used Houston Carpet & Classic floors to replace flooring in our home. The first time was probably 15 years ago in our first home and they replaced all of our carpet and some of the ceramic tile and they did a wonderful job. When we bought our current home 9 years ago they replaced all of the carpet and again did a wonderful job. Then a couple of years ago we decided to put a hard surface in our study and they helped us pick out a beautiful vinyl that looks like wood. Then Hurricane Harvey came and we had a roof leak and had to replace all the flooring upstairs and flooring on the stairs. We liked the vinyl in our study so we decided to go with vinyl again. We choose a different vinyl that looks exactly like wood...it even has imperfections and knot holes like wood. You can't tell the difference. Houston Carpet & Classic Floors has always been professional and great to work with. Even the installers are courteous and professional. If we need floors again, guess where we will go??? Houston Carpet has taken care of our rental property in Pearland for 25 + years. Carpet replacement and cleaning, nath and shower tile replacement, and a complete carpet to laminate floor replacement. They backed up their work when needed.

I have used Houston Carpet and Classic Floors twice and both times I have been thoroughly pleased. The first time was several years ago when we replaced carpet with beautiful wood flooring in our living room. Angie was very helpful in helping me pick out exactly what I wanted. She let me bring home multiple samples to see how they looked with the lighting in my house. She was very patient and shared her expertise to help me find exactly what I was looking for. The floor was installed perfectly and I have been very satisfied.
More recently we decided to replace flooring in other rooms in the house. I didn't even think of going anywhere but Houston Carpet and Flooring. Angie was there again to help me pick out exactly what I wanted. Once again I brought home samples and picked what I liked. To my surprise, the installer was the same person who had installed the hardwood on my first floor several years ago. Again he did an excellent job through four rooms in my home. The project was started and finished in the amount of time planned and I couldn't be happier. Grant, Angie's husband, was here daily to check on everything and to make sure everything was to my liking.
I was so pleased that I ended up having Houston Carpet and Classic Floors paint the rooms and baseboards. It was so nice not to have to go searching for another contractor to paint! Now everything looks brand new, thanks to Grant and Angie. I would recommend them to all who want beautiful flooring, individualized service, and excellent workmanship. Jimmie R

We hired Houston Carpet and Classic Floors to do a remodel of our first floor and we are thrilled with the job they did for us.
They totally remodeled our master bath by removing our tub, shower, vanity and mirrors. They built a wall in shower with tile walls, and installed a new vanity. They also installed a barn door on the master bath.
They also removed all the flooring on our first floor and installed luxury vinyl flooring throughout.
While doing all this, we had some storm damage to our ceiling they repaired flawlessly.
I would highly recommend Houston Carpet and Classic Floors for flooring AND remodeling work.

We had laminate installed 9 years ago and had some bad experiences. First, they removed some tile and did nothing to prevent the dust from going all over the place. I had to bring it on several cleaning crews to deal with dust on everything.
Then, most of the threshhole transitions came loose and cracked. Finally, the laminate is blistering.

We had carpet installed in the bedrooms and LVP installed through out the rest of the house. Angie and Grant are amazing! They were so helpful in helping us choose the right flooring. They answered all of our questions. They were on time and did a great job! I can't say enough nice things about the service and quality. I am extremely satisfied and highly recommend them!

We have used Houston Carpet several times. They have installed tile and wood flooring. Also, removed columns in our dining room and patched ceiling. They are very professional, on-time and do a great job. Customer service is excellent.

This company made a promising first impression but the last impression is what matters most. And let me just say, it couldn’t have been worse. Initially, we hired them to replace hardwood floors with LVP. However, the new floors didn't align with the baseboards, leading to 3 options:
Replacing all baseboards
Adding 1/4 round and repainting them
Adding taller wood along with 1/4 round without needing paint. We have texts from the owner to prove this.
We chose option 3, but later, we were told the baseboards would still need repainting, which was a concerning inconsistency. Despite this, we gave them more work, including adding a shower pan, new sheetrock, and tiling two restrooms. However, none of these projects were completed as promised.
In the first restroom, a stand-up shower, they replaced the sheetrock, added the pan, and were supposed to tile it to the ceiling. At the last moment, the owner demanded an additional $175 to place the FINAL piece of tile at the very top, leaving the job unfinished. Workers stated they felt bad, but followed orders in fear of getting in trouble. Communication with the owner became impossible for six days.
In the second restroom, a tub shower, they replaced the sheetrock but left the edges incomplete. The owner claimed it wasn't their responsibility and demanded more money to finish it. He said we should have known “the edges were outside the shower” and thus not part of the job. (Despite installing new sheetrock, which should have included smoothing the edges.) Niche edges were also to be painted to match the tile, but this wasn't done. After numerous complaints, the owner agreed to complete the stand-up shower but refused to finish and smooth the edges of the tub shower, leaving it visibly incomplete. Again, another worker of his stated he felt bad, but followed orders and reluctantly left.
There’s more! The billing process was equally frustrating. The owner initially texted us a balance of $7,100 (we spent over 57k) with unclear details. When we requested a clear breakdown, his wife provided a handwritten one, showing a different balance of $6,967. When we questioned these discrepancies, the owner had nothing to say. In addition, prices for additional jobs (painting stairs and staining the front door) were different than provided via text. See below:
$4,700 to paint baseboards
$1,500 on staining front door
$975 on painting stairs
Since we chose not to do the baseboards, he increased the front door to $1,800 and the stairs to $1,500. That is a $825 difference, which the owner claimed he had verbally discussed, despite no such conversation taking place. He justified this increase due to assigning different crews instead of having one do it all, which was not our responsibility as clients. We were given a price and that’s what it should’ve been. Why do we suffer due to his poor management?
When we refused to pay the inflated amount, the owner THREATENED to put a lien on our house, despite no signed contract for those prices. When we told him we would pay because we are good people and wanted to be done with him, he YELLED at us, “YOU MUST HAVE A BORING LIFE!” and hung up when we mentioned leaving a bad review. To make matters worse, when we reached out to his wife, who had just sent us an invoice that same day, she acted as though she didn't know us, asking, “Who is this?”
This sums up how they do business, once they have your money, they don't care about you! If I could give this company negative stars, I would! The fact that the owner seemed so genuine at first is the scary part. He fools you then gets you with additional surprise costs and unfinished work. The additional costs need to be written down and signed, every time! Otherwise, he'll throw out whatever number he wants!
SUCH A DISHONEST & UNRELIABLE COMPANY!

Visited the store to have a measurement performed. The appointment day was set without a scheduled time.
Made a follow up visit to inquire of the time slot for the on site visit to my home. Spoke with The counter person and was informed the appointment time was for 2:30. The time of the visit was 1:30. I asked if they intended to call me to inform of the appointment time. I asked for the owner and she commented she is the owner and refused to provide her name. From the business card I am assuming her name is Angela. She became very belligerent a tore up the info sheet and said she canceled the appointment. Angela remarked she was calling the police. I ask why and refused to provide any explanation to her action. Angela has very poor customer service and do not recommend doing business with this company.
DO NOT RECOMMEND doing business with this person. Has no clue how to treat customers.

We had counter tops, backsplash, and a new sink installed just before Thanksgiving. Pricing was competitive and the project was completed quickly from estimate to completion. Will do business with again when it comes time for bathroom remodel.

Grant and Amy are out to get your money with crappy work.
I was threatened by Amy if I post on social media or they lose business because of my review they will sue me.
They do not want the public to know how horrible they are.
Please feel free to message me for pictures or more details.

Our experience was excellent. We can't believe how quickly the process was to replace a previously done horrible job by another company. The service was excellent, making us feel more like family than customers. The work crew was excellent, particularly the lead installer. Experience and expertise -- from owner to installers. The floors are beautiful!
