We found Horizon Renovation through the referral sight Renovation Experts who sent several contractor out to provide estimates on our Bathroom Remodel. Kent from Horizon Renovation came out to view the job, he took the time to understand what I was looking for, rather than push his agenda. He came prepared with samples of not just work they had done, but with actual samples of materials not just pictures on a tablet. Then he took the time to go over every detail of the job, clearly outlining the details of what the job would encompass, and provided a written quote on the spot. We knew if this level of detail was any indication of the work they would do, then they were the right contractor for the job. The crew was very professional and minimally impacted our family. They arrived each day at the appointed time, or communicated in advance if there would be a change in their arrival the next day. They took care to protect the areas of the home they would pass through, and cleaned up after themselves each day. Kent would check in on the crew to ensure the job was being done as outlined and he immediately addressed any concerns that I had throughout the project. In the end we now have a bathroom that has the features and décor we wanted, completed on time, on budget, and we are very happy customers. We are pleased to recommend Horizon Renovation to others seeking an honest, hardworking, and competent general contractor. You can be certain we will be calling upon them again for our next project.

We had a very good experience with Kent Tsang and his team. Our project was tiling a bedroom floor, renovating a bathroom, and hanging a chandelier. The work included plumbing, electrical, floors and walls, and a lot of tiling. We preselected the materials. Kent worked with us to anticipate and address problems in the plan, though some decisions can't be finalized until after walls have been torn open, so Kent encourages flexibility. Some of his workers are not strong English speakers, but Kent monitored them closely (visiting the site most days). It helped that one of us is a native Chinese speaker. The biggest problem we encountered was a series of delays involving the glass subcontractor; we ultimately switched to an outside glass installer, and Kent supported us and incorporated the change. Prices were reasonable, and Kent clearly was clear about why he charged what he did, and prewarned us of any additional charges that arose as the work progressed. We were particularly pleased with the work of the tiler and the stonework subcontractor. The final result is beautiful! We will likely use Horizon Renovation again for future tiling and renovations.

We were impressed with their workmanships and professionalism while working to upgrade the look of our kitchen and bathroom. The team paid close attention to detail and accommodated us with our request without any issue. We are extremely satisfy and happy with our new kitchen and bathroom. Horizon Renovation remodeled our kitchen and got it done surprisingly quickly, and on budget. I have never worked with a contractor who worked as consistently on a project--one week they came 6 days! It really blew me away, as I've had contractors who would take entire weeks off. I was prepared to have the project take over a month, and they got it done in 3 weeks. Their work ethic is extremely impressive. They not only did the work we asked, they gave us some design suggestions that turned out to be very helpful. They were responsible, responsive, and did good work. The only thing they could have done better was dust mitigation; also, they do not automatically provide debris removal, but you can request it, or find your own hauling service (which I did). Overall they did a very good job for the price, and I would definitely recommend them.

They replaced the sink, cabinets and floor, smoothed/painted the walls, did some electrical work, took down a couple of walls, and put in a new countertop. Also of note was their work putting in the new countertop, which was exceptional. They not only did the work we asked, they gave us some design suggestions that turned out to be very helpful. Their attention to detail was better than expected. They were responsible, responsive, and did good work. The only thing they could have done better was dust mitigation, and there were a couple small details that could have been better (a couple of gaps under the cabinets; a couple of tiny screw holes through a panel--small stuff that really only I would notice). Also, they do not automatically provide debris removal, but you can request it, or find your own hauling service (which I did). Overall they did a great job for the price, and I would definitely recommend them.

We loved working with Horizon Renovation and would happily hire them again! Kent (owner) and Lianne (project manager) did an outstanding job managing our bathroom renovation. Their attention to detail, clear communications, creative troubleshooting, high quality craftsmanship, hard work, punctuality, efficiency, and pride in their work is exemplary. Their incredible team was on time every day and worked diligently until the project was done. Lianne was wonderful and made sure to check on the project regularly to ensure successful construction. They made sure to carefully seal off other rooms to protect from dust and also left the work area very tidy when the work was compete. We never imagined having such a positive experience! Our bathroom turned out beautifully and we so grateful to Horizon Renovation. We highly recommend them!

After consulting with quite a few home improvement companies, we have decided to move forward with removing our kitchen with Horizon Renovation. Everything was thoroughly explained to us from the get go. The team was excellent with their workmanship and we appreciate their professionalism during the entire project. We have been shopping around for a company to handle our major remodeling project. And it turned out to be difficult because companies' asking prices were not always reflecting their workmanship quality. I had a friend who paid twice as much as he should have but got a bathroom that had its tile cracked in a year. So we were extremely careful on quality. After a month's survey and research, we narrowed down our general contractor to Kent (Horizon Renovation). He showed a broad knowledge from framing to interior renovation during his first visit to our property and honestly described pros and cons for hiring a general contractor for a job of this scale (you will pay slightly higher, for an experienced general contract to coordinate and supervise the entire project for you). After reviewed some of his prior works, we have decided to hire Horizon Renovation for our whole house remodeling including kitchen remodeling, whole house electric wiring, sub-panel upgrading, bathroom remodeling and etc. With a large project like this, as expected, I had many fears regarding putting the fate of the project in the hands of one single contractor. But this ended up being my best decision. I am very pleased with the outcome and Kent's attention to detail and professionalism was obvious from day 1 and lasted till end of the project (he also offered a return visit to do some finally touch on parts we felt needed to be improved after a month). The best part, apart from Kent's execution efficiency and knowledge, is that Kent's team, Horizon Renovation, has specialists in each area covering framing, electricity, plumbing, tiles and painting. This allows Kent and his assistant (Liyan) to plan ahead to avoid project timeline's dependency on some independent contractors' schedule. (forget to mention, one advantage Horizon Renovation has was this capable assistant. Unlike other assistants who can only pick up phone calls and take your message, when Kent was busy with other projects, Liyan was capable of discussion almost anything, from scheduling to actual framing work with you.) After design lock, Kent offered us some 3D rendered graphics to make sure we were satisfied with this outcome (for free!). Then he laid out all check points of this project and possible diversions. We then discussed possible consequences and related responsibility. After project started, Kent gave me weekly updates and went through next week's work plan with me. When there were specific things needed, Kent was able to see it a head of time, inform me about it to avoid a rush decision. Since it was a big project, problems and surprises were inevitable. But Kent dealt with them smoothly. We found some rotten studs and water leakage. Kent pointed them out and fixed all those for us at no cost. He was even able to foreseen some potential dangers and re-enforce those for us. To conclude, Kent's execution was flawless. If there was even a small detail that was done wrong, he noticed it himself and made sure it will be fixed. What I respect most about this company is that they showed extremely care about what they do and workers were very polite and respectful to every member of my family. They listened to they suggestions, checked with me and acted accordingly. When the job was finished, I had an entirely new home with nicely finished smooth plastering and painting, shiny fixtures, and updated plumbing/electrical system. I think the best way to do a good job is to love it. And I see this in Horizon Renovation. Comparing to another renovation companies, I think planning and execution is its biggest advantage. I will write an update in a year regarding to long-term quality. (:

We hired Horizon Renovation to update our kitchen and bathroom, and I must say that we were very satisfied with the quality of work by Kent and his team. At the beginning Kent did a great job in helping us finalize what materials / colors / finish we want (for first timers like us, the process could be very intimidating and tedious). As the project went on, we got to learn more about Kent's team and were particularly impressed by their skills and "do it right" attitude. Kent and his team communicated with us very closely and adapted to our needs and whatever issues the best they could. By the end of the project, everything from floor tiles, to cabinets, to walls, and installation of hardware were completed to our satisfaction. Furthermore, we felt the price tag of the project was reasonable compared to the other contractors that we have considered. Overall, I would recommend Horizon Renovation to anyone for their attention-to-detail workmanship, flexibility and reasonable cost.

Horizon Renovation is a great company. I had a crack on my old granite countertop in my kitchen, so I need a replacement. I have checked many companies but I finally decided to hire Horizon Renovation with the replacemnet. Because they are knowledgeable. The manager gave me many great advices in design and selecting materials. The crew that came were professional and very careful. Everything went very smooth. Overall, they did a great job for my kitchen and it came out exactly as it was planned.

I went to Horizon renovation and Kent was wonderful to work with, he was fast to come do a kitchen design for me and listen to what I wanted and gave his own input, I ended up going with his ideas and I am extremely happy. I told him I don't cook often, but since I got my kitchen done, it has turned into my favorite room! Therefore, I've cooked every single day! I hired my own contractor, the cabinets do not come assembled, so I had the furniture company put them together. I think it's better to have your own contractor put it together as to his expectations, same if you hire horizon renovation, have them put it together to avoid mistakes. One of the things I wanted and liked was the slow closing doors and drawers, the hinge mechanism on the doors was damaged and doors were slamming closed, the company sent new hinges, I had to changed practically all the hinges. Other than that, I had no problems. Kent and Leanne helped me with choosing the backsplash and counter top and I LOVE IT. All in all, I would go back to Horizon renovation without a second thought! Here's what I think you should know: Kent is great at designing the kitchen, he has great ideas and a really good eye for combinations/design. They are competitive. They have a lot to choose from, cabinets, floors, counter tops, backsplash, etc, one stop shop, unless you want something you don't find there. Kent and Leanne have great custome service. Thank you Kent and Leanne for all your help, patients, and for making my home so beautiful with my beautiful kitchen!

Based on a few hours of discussion, Kent presented me a rough idea of a new kitchen and misled me into signing a contract. I signed the contract believing he would be willing to do further work on the design. The design was not updated correctly based on our further discussion, the invoice contained errors leading to overcharges by mistakes. I found other unacceptable errors in details and even the measurements. The design was never finished before I decided that I had to terminate the working relationship with Horizon. For a total of 3 hours on discussion on the design, Kent sent me an invoice for $9933, and sued me for breaching the contract. At the court, the judge ruled that we settled by my payment of $243. Kent's invoice was a complete joke. His entire accusation of me was not warranted, and reflected a horrible nature of this business.
