We searched for almost three years trying to find a good contractor to do our downstairs floor. We had started off wanting a kitchen renovation, but our house was falling apart, and we decided we wanted to do all of it. The other quotes we got were absurd, and just when we thought we should just give up and go back to the basic kitchen design, a friend told us about Home Masters. We asked for multiple referrals and they all gave rave reviews. They stuck with the numbers they gave us during their initial quote (except for the areas we added on), and it was lower than any other quote we had received. We were weary at first because it felt like it was too good to be true, but Mamoon gave us a new vision for the space that we hadn't even thought of...and we loved it. Moe came in as the project manager, and their team created a whole new beautiful space with impeccable attention to detail, taking down multiple walls, redoing every room on the downstairs floor (including the bathroom) and creating a luxurious look with a full vaulted ceiling. We went from resenting the house we purchased 10 years ago to now loving our house. We're so grateful for the work they've done and will absolutely hire them again when we're ready to do our upstairs bathrooms!

I recently had my kitchen remodeled by Home masters and was very satisfied with the job done. The whole team was professional and honest from Jason who designed the project to my exact vision and provided me with options and suggestions that aligned with my preferences to the project manager Nader. Nader exceeded my expectations with his attention to detail, ability to finish the project on time, and his keen eye for fixing any issues that arose during the process. Their presence and inspection were also greatly appreciated. Communication was extensive with me throughout the process and the project was accomplished within timeline and budget. The project manager also closely supervised the construction team to ensure that the work was done to my satisfaction, and addressed any concerns or issues that arose along the way. Overall, I highly recommend Home Masters and their talented team who truly went above and beyond to make sure my kitchen was perfect.

They did a whole kitchen and living room remodel of my home. They work pretty fast. I worked with Mamoon and team. He gave me his suggestions during design. They addressed all the problems that I brought to their attention and Amir was my project manager and was easy to speak to. I recently had a window crack after 1 year and they came out to replace it under warranty. I recommend this company.

Update: They came out and looked at the issues that I had and was able to correct them on site. The one issue that they were not able to fix, the part was ordered and delivered right to us. Please do your research thoroughly when looking for any type of renovation. I had them remodel my kitchen and everything looks great from the outside but many mistakes on the inside. They left an outlet hanging in one of the cabinets, did not screw down the pull out trash can track, and I had to ask them to correct a mistake after they put in the new cabinets. The cabinets began chipping about six months after completion. We were quoted to have an waterfall island but it did not happen and the price was not changed. This company seems to try to make as much profit as they can by cutting corners on the quality of the materials they use. If I could go back in time, I would NOT use them to remodel my kitchen.

We feel this contractor sold us a service & product that they could not deliver then tried to make changes we did not agree to. Cabinets were not provided according to the approved & contracted design. The cabinets/doors above the Pantry & Oven were to be the same height as requested & shown in the 3D elevations created by HomeMasters. I specifically requested a larger pantry, but they tried to force me to accept the smaller one that the project manager ordered BEFORE taking final measurements of the entire kitchen. There were multiple cabinets in the wrong size. We paid for the larger units that didn’t fit, only to have them say “we need to reduce the size” and there was no difference in price. I refused & told them to figure it out. On the 2nd day of install, the installer pointed out the doors & cabinet space above the pantry were never going to be symmetric as we were expecting. He said he would have to make modifications to the oven cabinet. After some research and calls, I was able to confirm that the warranty would be voided if any mods were made. The installer left after partially assembling a number of cabinets, leaving a number of opened & unopened boxes in & around our home. Some of the boxes had other customers names on them and others were clearly old. I contacted the owner, Mark, the project manager and the designer/Rep, Will, to invite them all over for a meeting and walkthrough thinking we could get things back on track. They refused. Will encouraged me to let them finish the kitchen because “you will love it. It’s the best solution.” After multiple emails and calls, Mark stated the only way to achieve the kitchen in the design shown to us that we had been paying for, would be through custom cabinets.  He initially estimate an additional $25K-$35K that we had to pay, and then revised that to $50K additional.  He later said that custom was not an option, but then offered to have a custom pantry built that would not be an exact match to the rest of the cabinets.  It was never disclosed to us that these particular cabinets would not be symmetrical or the sizes that we approved and paid for. When I asked why we were shown a design with cabinets in a size & configuration that was not possible, I was told it was design software issue & that no one else has ever questioned or had an issue with the cabinets not aligning in the 15 years they’ve been in business. We were told by Home Masters to have the wood floors installed first. We later had to pay to have our flooring specialist come out to remove wood flooring from under the cabinets to avoid voiding the warranty by having cabinets and appliances sitting on top. These are just the cliff notes, not including how dismissive and disrespectful the guys treated me as a woman or Mark trying to force us to pay for cabinets that were measured incorrectly and accept the kitchen they wanted is to have, NOT what we wanted. Having Mark point to the cancellation and restocking fees in the contract, but not acknowledging the language is worded such that the client does not have an opportunity to inspect the cabinets and refuse them within the timeframe stipulated to avoid a restocking fee. After months of back and forth, I finally had to report them to the CSLB. This has been the absolute worst experience with a contractor and I regret the day I came into contact with them. I would not recommend them to anyone.

UPDATE: The gas company came out and inspected the job that HMI did. As we suspected, the gas company found, in their words, a "huge gas leak" inside our wall. Whomever installed the gas line for our range had improperly attached the gas line and an elbow joint - they had not applied sealant - and gas had been leaking from the spot for the last few months. We have been breathing this in the whole time. What if our house had caught fire or blown up from this gas leak? I am furious at the shoddy workmanship and plan to contact the contractors licensing board, better business bureau, and anyone else that will listen. We have been extremely unhappy with the service, both during and after out kitchen remodel. We have been lied to, dismissed, and outright ignored by this company. We paid them in cash, on time, every time that they asked only to be treated poorly in return. Here is a list of ways that Home Masters International (HMI) has acted in poor faith: • They did not pay the plumbers they subcontracted with, resulting in the plumbers putting a lien on OUR house. We paid HMI in cash, but HMI did not pay the plumbers. It took months to get the lien off our house. • Told us we needed to finalize cabinet choice a month before install. Then 3 days before install, told us cabinets were on backorder for 3 months, and had to pick alternatives. Why did we have to pick so far in advance if they were only ordering it 3 days before? • Told us range was in stock AND ordered, then one day before install told us on backorder for over one month • Sold us a drawer organizer that ultimately did not meet our needs (~$500). Lied about drawer organizer being able to be returned. Sam said no, I called company myself and they said yes • Told us we needed 50-60 sq feet extra floor before job started, then 300+ needed during job and couldn’t get our original flooring people to do due to timeframe (they would have charged less). This resulted in a larger cost for the job we had not planned on. • The new cabinets have less space than previous when we asked for the same or more – for instance, the pantry we asked for the same (36”) and got 30”, tried to tell us it was the same but we had past measurements and pictures • Leak from the ceiling over the weekend with no response. They knew this would happen from the line that was cut but didn’t tell us and didn’t tell us about emergency phone number until after • Plumbing and sink problems o Garbage disposal not correctly installed, resulting in massive leak in cabinet o Blocked line in ice dispenser, had to call two additional handymen to figure it out o Dishwasher still coming detached o Reverse osmosis leaked (I fixed myself) • Seemed upset we used our own painter (she charged $2000, they wanted $3500) • Sold us on the work by saying they have a website that they use that showed the daily schedule of the work. They managed to bill us multiple times through the website but not publish the schedule until we asked them to (halfway through the job) • And finally, we have been waiting months to fix a crack in the ceiling. Every time I ask for a date to fix it by, they either do not respond or say that will get back to us with a date, but then don’t. Our project manager Mo was mysteriously no longer working for the company after the job. Sam lied multiple times (see attached pictures) and Mark, the owner, lied as well. At this point, I do not even want them to fix the crack. I just hope nothing else goes wrong. We have the gas company coming out later this week to investigate a possible gas leak and improper installation of our range and if they have done so, there will be legal ramifications to follow.

I recently had a major renovation done by Home Masters. My project was a kitchen, main bedroom & bath and addition with new floors and paint through out and exterior. My project manager Moe, he kept me updated on progress and any issues that came up. As with any project, you're bound to have some bumps along the way, but the communication and their commitment to resolve any problems to my satisfaction was stellar. Everyone from Moe, Mamoon and the rest of the staff at the showroom made themselves available to help. My home is beautiful and well done. I would highly recommend Home Masters.
