Bart saved my kitchen. I was waiting for HD's fabricator to install ours however they increased the price 3 days before installation after waiting for 3 weeks. I went with Granite Design of Midwest and my quartz countertop was installed within a week. The responsiveness and high quality of work are beyond my expectations. Highly recommend!

Granite Design of Midwest is an amazing place! The customer service is above and beyond. We have worked with Bart and Agnes twice now. They always have time to answer your questions, no matter how small. Agnes allowed me to come to the shop and choose the layout for my quartz in my kitchen. We were able to plan the seams, the direction of the veining, everything! They stand by their work and produce a perfect product. I am happy to return and continue to send my friends.

I normally do not post reviews but I felt it was necessary to express my complete satisfaction with Granite Design of Midwest. The entire process was so easy Bart and Agnus were so extremely helpful and responsive. After dealing with a nightmare situation prior to finding Granite Design it was refreshing to have a seamless process with Granite Design. Even the showroom they recommended I visit to see up close the sample designs was beautiful and so everyone so professional. The entire process moved fairly quickly, the gentleman who did the measurements was professional and helpful, the installers were quick and great. I highly recommend Granite Design of Midwest if you're looking for excellent service at a extremely reasonable cost.

I found Granite Design of Midwest after scouring reviews - Yelp, Google, BBB, etc. This place is a real gem! Great prices, excellent communication, and superb service! You won't find a fancy showroom, but GDM only recommends solid products and the install is top notch. Agnes was also great at providing direction with pattern choice and layout. Big fan of this place. Thank you, Bart!

Great team of countertop installers to work with! I had reached out to multiple companies and was honestly overwhelmed with the process and worried about the removal and installation of our new countertops. Bart made it easy ...he came out ASAP for measurements and got us on the calendar within 1-2 weeks. We sourced our stone from MSI and they took care of all of that. Responsive, on time and we love the way they turned out.

After talking to 6-7 Granite/Quartz shops through Yelp (based on # of reviews and 4.5 star ratings), I narrowed my pick to this company. After many correspondences with Bart (owner) and visiting his store location on California, I was extremely confident in choosing his company. He was pretty direct, open and gave me a very decent pricing for the project. Which consisted of 1 Kitchen and 4 vanities for a River North condo. What I really appreciate was that he re-used some left over remnants from another project..... which prevented me from buying an additional full slab!. I also enjoyed working with Agnes (office Manager), Steve (measurement guy), and Chris (installers). Steve was very precise with his measurements and would make a great Cardiac surgeon. I am very anal with things and they did a 100% perfect job removing the old granite, installing the new quartz, attaching new sinks, drilling faucet and outlet holes. I will use this company again and won't hesitate to give any referrals when I can. Thanks!

I used Granite design of Midwest for a recent multi family property renovation in the south of Avondale. I was renovating two units and wanted to install some new countertops. I was able to get quartz for a reasonable price, come to their show room to decide on samples, and get them templated quickly with a time that worked for my schedule. Bart and team were able to adjust to a few unexpected changes in the layout and had a very quick turnaround for production. The countertops look awesome! I will definitely be using them again on future projects.

Agnes and Bart are the best! My new quartz countertops are gorgeous. I got quotes from 4-5 other companies in the city and this was the best price with the product I wanted and a fast installation. I live in a highrise building downtown and the installers had no problem maneuvering in the small hallways and elevator. A kitchen renovation is expensive and you should be 100% happy with the results, which I'm glad to say I am! I can't wait to show my friends and fam.

I worked w/ the team at Granite Design for months (thank you COVID 19) to get my quartz counter top installed. I had many, many questions and Bart was always patient and responsive. It was very important to me that I had no seams and he made that happen for me. Install went smoothly. The guys carried the quartz up 4 flights which I know was not easy. They got it in my condo w/o any damage. I would highly recommend this team and I would use them again!!

Great customer service, very easy to work with. I had shopped around at a few places and GDM had the best price by far on the exact same quartz as the other places. Bart was quick to respond to everything and even called me to double-check what I wanted, the measurement guy (Stephen I think?) was so friendly and thorough to make sure I got the exact dimension changes I wanted, Agnes got the COI paperwork I needed for my condo building really quickly, and the installers were quick and tidy. We purchased a semi-recessed vessel sink and needed to find a suitable remnant to replace a damaged marble countertop. Bart showed us a selection of remnants and we chose the one he thought would best match our existing tile pattern. We brought the new sink to Granite Design at California & Chicago Aves. and they cut the countertop to accommodate the new sink. Bart's installers did a great job. They texted us when they were a few minutes away, which was very helpful. They removed the old sink and countertop and installed the new ones. Everything looks great. Can't say enough about how pleased we are with Bart and his team. And the price was right, too.

I was weary of buying granite from the wrong company because of the expense but I was VERY happy with how things worked out. First of all, Bart, Steve and the installers were very professional but also personable and down-to-earth which is very important to me. The countertop is absolutely beautiful and worth every penny. The part I liked the best was when I went out to MSI to pick out my granite! It was such a cool experience. I had to choose the more reasonably priced granite but I still loved seeing all the big beautiful slabs and literally choosing which one I wanted. I'm including a picture of my unfinished kitchen with the granite installed! Anyone can have beautiful granite, even small kitchens on a budget!

My husband and I looked hither and yon for a supplier of a quartz counter top whom could deliver both quality, reasonable price, but most importantly...expediency, due to my multiple disabilities and the need for speed! And we looked at a good number of suppliers. Potential Bargain Buyers Beware! Our suggestion: Beware suppliers who sell you by "good feel" sq. foot price (Quartz, Granite,) as opposed to a reasonable flat rate for stone, specification measurement, delivery and installation. Most importantly, watch out for those dealers who have a history of destroying your plumbing. Look at Yelp/Google/etc. You need a group whom can expertly install your stone and place your sink. Too much to go into....please... "Do Your Research Extensively Before Making Any Commitments! Seriously, it is soooooo important!" After making a clear and diligent Yelp/Google search based on high level customer reviews and above/beyond satisfaction... The owner, Bart, was so personable and professional, making quite well on his promise to streamline delivery and installation of our highly anticipated new counter top, after living 21 agonizing yrs. with an old Formica nightmare! These guys at Granite Design are about as good as it gets! Acutely accuracy defined, coupled with an extremely high spirited group of technicians who are as personable as they are professional! I think the repeated "HIGH FIVES" reviews and compliments about their workmanship only speaks for itself. We will truly use these guys for all of our future stone needs and wish lists! Kindest Regards- Robin and Rich G. Chicago,il 60656

I hired Granite Design of Midwest to install a new quartz countertop in my smallish kitchen. Bart, the owner, was very responsive to to my numerous emails throughout the process. I went in person and selected my color from many choices they had. I even found basically the same color in a cheaper brand as they are all basically made the same. I also got a quote from Home Depot and they were more money (they charge for being up flights of stairs, which GDW did NOT, plus HD would also charge more to avoid a seam). They were easy, good quality, and no-nonsense. It's always great to find a local, independently owned business to work with and their reviews say it all! I would definitely recommend!

When we remodeled a kitchen last year, we went with a granite countertop. Based on yelp reviews, we went with Granite Design of Midwest. They were also the cheapest by far of the companies we got a quote from. They gave us a list of granite suppliers that they work with and we went and chose a slab of granite that we liked and we told them what part of the slab we wanted them to use. We remodeled our entire kitchen, plus added new countertops to our half bath and master bath and I would 100% recommend these guys! I would use them again in a heartbeat. They were super easy to work with, and did awesome work. My countertops are gorgeous and my favorite part of my new kitchen. I originally was going to use Home Depot quartz countertops, but walked into a wholesaler with a lot more options and Granite Design was on the list of preferred fabricators. They very quickly gave us a quote that was super reasonable, with a better product than home depot (and a better price), and were incredibly reasonable on the bathroom jobs I wanted done as well.

I hired Granite Design of Midwest to install brand new quartz countertops in our kitchen and bathroom. Bart was extremely responsive to phone calls, text and emails and came out to measure our kitchen. I researched a number of granite fabricators and decided to work with Bart and his team because of the great communication and competitive price. If you are in the market for new counter tops, start with visiting their office on California Ave and look at the various stones they carry. My wife and I wished we knew about Granite Design sooner before we drove 45 minutes outside of the city to visit MSI (stone seller) in Elk Grove Village because not only did Granite Design have MSI quartz in stock they had tons of other options from other companies. On the day of installation, Tom and three other men arrived to complete the installation. We opted to do a back splash with the quartz as well in the kitchen and so the crew came back the next day to install that piece. In the kitchen we opted for MSI's Stellar White and in the bathroom we chose the MSI Carrara Marmi. Overall we were pleased with the experience and would recommend Granite Design.

Granite Design's prices can't be beat. Their all-in estimate was more than $1,000 less than several of their competitors out in the suburbs. I'm thrilled to have found Granite Design and would recommend them to anyone in the area who's in the market for new countertops.

I will highly recommend this company and will use them again in the near future. The owners is extremely responsive. I communicated with him via email. He responds nearly immediately. First, he gave me the best quote. Second, not knowing granite people need a little bit more time to measure, schedule and manufacture. I requested a very short turn around. Bart was extremely accommodating. May granite countertops in the kitchen and two bathrooms where installed within a week. Awesome. Third, I had some challenges along the way. I left too little space for a counter overhang on one side of the sink next to refrigerator. That would mean the granite strip on the right side of the sink, would be too narrow and too fragile. Bart came up with a very creative solution (slightly position sink off center, which is not even noticeable, and install granite edge with overhang in to the sink, as opposed to flush). Problem solved! My other problem was the uneven floor seem where my granite waterfall was to be installed. essentially, my kitchen floor ended up being 1/4 of an inch higher than my living room floor. Bart and his guys measured and cut the bottom of the waterfall on site. it looks perfect. Once they left, I realized that they forgot to seal one side of a backsplash to the countertop in the bathroom. My contractor called them and they promptly came back. Fourth, Bart was very consultative. He asked what type of connection edge I want on my waterfall... I had no clue. He explain that I can put the waterfall right under the counter top, or I can cut countertop and waterfall leg side on angle and connect them that way. he said it was more work for him but it would look much nicer. I chose that option and cannot agree more. it looks very nice compared to the "under" option. and he did not charge me more for this cut. Overall, his guys were quick, professional and friendly. They did a high quality job, and I will hire them again in a heart beat.

Agnes is the gem of Granite Design. We're rehabbing a bathroom and needed a specific counter top that was way overpriced by one of their competitors. Agnes found just the right piece at a very reasonable price. We then needed some pieces of the same material for a niche in the shower and she responded immediately. When we found ourselves in a time crunch with our contractor, Agnes squeezed us in between some other fabrication jobs so he could install the vanity top within the project time frame. Great customer attention. We will recommend them to contractors and friends alike.

The customer service, quality & pricing of product, and installation crew were all stellar. I have remodeled many homes and condos over the years as well as assisting my real estate clients with remodels. Dealing with contractors and people in the trades can be less than a picnic at times, but not in this case. Agnes, Bart, and their crew were professional and very responsive to both phone calls and emails. If your looking for stone countertops, this is the place to go.

We love our granite counters and have Granite Design to thank. They were very prompt on answering my multiple emails and wonderful in directing us where to view the slabs. They came out to measure for installation and made some suggestions on things to consider changing. These changes were adapted and just perfect. Their prices were very competitive but their workmanship was beyond our anticipations. Very clean in their work and efficient. I highly recommend them. You will be so glad if you choose Granite Designs of the Midwest. We were!!

My brother uses Granite Design of Midwest for all his projects so I knew that they were going to be the best value. Even so, we shopped around ourselves and found out for ourselves that they were the best price. I communicated with them via email and they always responded quickly. My contractor failed to finish everything before Bart came out to measure but Bart was really understanding and accommodating. He was quick and diligent in his measuring and the installation went smoothly. One corner was slightly discolored but they sent out a guy to lighten it without charge. Because my contractor had failed to finished everything before the measurement, we were left with a half inch gap due to an unforeseen panel. Even though it wasn't Granite Design of Midwest's fault for the gap, Jack (the guy who came out) went out of his way to help us cover it with a backsplash piece. He even came back a 2nd time because the first piece was lighter than the countertop piece. After working with a lot of contractors who frustrate me it's really a giant relief that Bart and Granite Design of Midwest is so reliable and even go ABOVE AND BEYOND. They're treating your kitchen like they would want to treat their own kitchen. It was a wonderful experience working with them and I would recommend them to anyone.

Does Granite Design of Midwest offer cutouts for sinks, cooktops, or other elements?
Yes, like most professional contractors in the market, Granite Design of Midwest performs cutouts and countertop preparation for various components — both standard and modern. According to our findings, these services are typically included in the overall project estimate.
The standard scope usually covers cutouts for sinks (undermount, drop-in, or farmhouse) and holes for faucets or other plumbing fixtures. Additional cutouts — such as for cooktops, hidden or pop-up outlets, built-in wireless chargers, or other accessories — are discussed individually at the project planning and estimating stage.
It’s important to note that while the cutouts and countertop preparation are usually performed by the company, the installation of electrical and plumbing fixtures (such as faucets, outlets, or appliances) may not be included in their scope of work and could require licensed professionals. We recommend clarifying this point when placing your order.
To avoid misunderstandings, ask for a detailed estimate with a breakdown of all services: cutout pricing, installation, and any add-on options. This will ensure project transparency and help you clearly understand what you're paying for.
What guarantees does Granite Design of Midwest provide for its work?
According to our information and industry practice, Granite Design of Midwest, like most participants in the ranking, provides a workmanship warranty valid for 1 year from the date of countertop installation. This period is usually specified in the contract. We do not rule out that the company may have extended warranty terms (2 years or more), however, during our research, we did not receive confirmed data from the contractor regarding the duration and scope of its warranty.
The contractor’s warranty covers defects in fabrication and installation, such as uneven or separating seams, leveling and fastening issues, detachment or sagging of an undermount sink, flaws in edge finishing and cutouts, premature failure of seam materials, and cutouts that do not match the approved design. Warranty coverage does not include damage from use (thermal shock/burn marks from hot cookware, chips or cracks caused by impacts), stains and acid etching (for marble), wear due to insufficient maintenance or lack of sealing, natural characteristics of stone (veins, micro-pores, variations in shade/pattern within tolerances), shifts caused by base deformation, or any modifications performed by third parties.
The material warranty is provided by the manufacturer or the official stone supplier. Engineered quartz brands often offer a limited “lifetime” warranty for residential properties (subject to registration and compliance with care guidelines). For sintered surfaces, typical warranty periods range from 10 to 25 years. Natural stone usually does not come with a factory warranty — its quality of fabrication and installation is covered by the contractor’s warranty.
The term and scope of the warranty depend on the project and materials — contact Granite Design of Midwest in any convenient way on this page to get the current terms.
