Distinctive Kitchen and Bath has been a phenomenal partner of ours for several years now, they have helped us on close to 100 different projects. Jason Schlosser our rep is amazing and always gets us everything we need. His design work and creativity is a huge asset to our company, and our customers always have amazing experiences and feedback after visiting with Jason. We are very thankful to work with Jason and Distinctive on all of our remodeling projects. We would highly recommend and will continue working with them for years to come! -Sam Chase Owner/President Elite Restoration and Repair

Distinctive Kitchen traveled almost 2 hours to install a Hanstone quartz counter top in our new laundry room. Caleb & Kam were kind and very professional. They performed their work beautifully. Caleb explained to us how to keep the surface in great condition. We are very appreciative. We'll use Distinctive Kitchen again for any counter top needs.

Updated review: Issues have been resolved. Disappointed for many reasons! Went to Distinctive Kitchen for laminate countertops. As salesman was completing purchase for laminate, he quickly left to talk to his boss. He came back and told us, with the sale they have going on with quartz it would be the same price if not a few hundred dollars cheaper than if we went with the laminate we already picked out. We decided to go with quartz and went with least expensive quartz they offered; the total cost was a grand more than the laminate. Disappointment #1. Joey Vanhorn came out to complete the countertop template. During his visit, he informed us we would need to supply bracing on one of our walls for the quartz countertop. We installed 2 heavy duty brackets for this. Project manager, Christopher Brown, suggested 3 brackets so we installed another one. Upon install, we were told there needed to be additional bracing under the seam, which was on a different wall. We didn't have an additional bracket. We settled on the installation techs cutting a 2 x 4 and screwing it into our existing cabinet as a brace. Disappointment #2. Install took about 6 hours. The backsplash isn't square to the countertop, backsplash is leaning forward. There are so many issues with the silicone job as pictured. Disappointment #3. The countertop looks nice but now we're left to fix all of these issues.

Lots of chiefs, but no Indians. Our small kitchen has been under construction for a month waiting on them to finish the counter top and small backsplash project. They just confirmed they won’t come back with the rest of the backsplash for two more weeks, while also confirming they will receive the rest of our tile tomorrow. Terrible service!

Sheri S. And Victor J. were excellent installers. They were courteous, professional and friendly. They wanted to make sure things were done correctly and that I, as the customer, was happy. I love my new countertops.

Updated review- Janet from Distinctive (Manager of sales I believe) was prompt to reach out to me after reading my review and was extremely pleasant to work with. She expressed her apologies for all we had dealt with, offered us compensation for our troubles, and even more than that- a reasonable solution… beautiful countertops in a prompt timeframe. Our countertops were installed today and the crew showed up when they said they’d be there and did a wonderful job. We are so glad we were able to get our original choice of countertop and we can’t wait to move into our house. Thank you Janet for making this possible! I wish everyone from your sales team was as easy to work with as you were. 😊 To say this place was a nightmare to deal with is an understatement. I will never, and won’t ever recommend anyone I know to use this business. Our project started with this company on June 13th, 2024. We picked out our countertops through our cabinet company they work closely with. We were very excited, we loved the countertops we picked out. Flash forward to 3 weeks before the expected move-in date of our new home. Distinctive surfaces comes out to template for our countertops on a Tuesday. The following Monday they call and say the countertops we picked out in June (mind you, it’s early September now) are back ordered now and stuck on a ship somewhere. They advise me to come to their store and pick out a similar product they HAVE AVAILABLE. I drive myself over an hour there, agree to the change and they “get it ordered.” This was a Friday. The following Monday. Now another week delayed, they call again, saying this product (that was just available) is ALSO delayed. Could be two weeks, could be two months. They aren’t sure how long it will be. Again, this is the ONLY thing keeping us from moving into our house. So to speed process up we are backed into corner to either change to different company which will likely delay us more time, or choose ANOTHER different product. So we choose another product. Third countertop. This time, it’s a $2,500 up charge for us. Originally almost $3,500, they agreed to cover a percent of the up-charge. However, they told us they had it in-stock, in Cleveland (3 hours from us) and could get it ASAP and install it, so despite all the horrible gut feelings I had to get the hell out of this situation we pulled the plug to do it and be done with it. Flash forward a week and a half, they send us spec sheet for the cut, tell us an install date (another week out totaling for a month from template date), and we receive a call saying this said product is, GUESS WHAT, also stuck in a boat somewhere and they don’t know when they will get it?! How did it get on a boat from Cleveland to Columbus? Did they ever have it? Who knows. Regardless we are currently on our way to Creative Countertops in Englewood where they have 7 slabs of our original pick countertop available and will be installing in 2 weeks! So glad we left this disastrous company and all they stand for. Do yourself a favor and do not give them your business. This place is a joke.

First I'm the contractor chosen by the homeowners to work with this business and install the cabinets ordered. If I could give 0 stars I would as they have done nothing to compensate for this disaster that took about 5 weeks and multiple date changes to get replacements for damages while also over ordering materials and charging the customer. We are still waiting on a resolution after almost another month since the replacements were finally received. Which is the reason for this review. This is one of the worst experiences I've had in the 13 years I've been in business.

Rich Street just finished installing my new countertop. It looks amazing! I was worried about the seams but you can’t tell they are there. Him and his crew did a good job and cleaned up before they left. Thanks for a job well done!

They did a great job with delivery and installation. The countertop (quartz) had one seem and if I didn't know where it was, I would never find it. Very courteous and cleaned up at the end. They gave us a checklist of things to be ready for at installation when they came to measure. They made sure all the items were covered at installation. Kody & Ray were our installers.

I am remodeling my kitchen, and the contractor I hired subs cabinets and countertops through this company. I've gone several times to investigate options, and today picked out the cabinets and countertops that will be used in the final project. Courtney is our sales person, and she is awesome to work with. She is friendly and her experience makes her extremely valuable in this process. The selection is good and pricing is very reasonable.

Very professional. Used high tech gadgets to measure and the countertops were perfect. They mounted my sink that I had already purchased and it looks great. Very happy with the total install.

The team at Distinctive Surfaces was very welcoming and eager to help as we put the finishing touches on our renovations. We all celebrated together when the quartz countertops were installed (measured and fit perfectly) and we were able to commission the project. From picking out the right materials, to measuring and installing - the crew was a pleasure to work with. They were timely, responsive and provided great customer service - all critical components of a great service provider.

Everything was great except for their communication with me. They managed to answer one of my 8 calls; trying to get a hold of them is a hassle. Voice messages go ignored regardless of who you contact. I was trying to discuss with them about the demolition of my existing laminate countertops 5 days before the installation date, and they ignored that voice message too. If you care to know the process and like to have your answers within a day or two, Distinctive Surfaces may be very frustrating, as it was to me.

The first part of the countertop process was nice. Toni was super helpful and very kind in helloing us get our order in. After that , everything seemed to go downhill. This was a big expense/investment for us, both time and money! They also required money in FULL before installation. So we did..... We waited a few weeks for measurements/templating..which was interesting. The guy who came didn't seem too knowledge. We waited a few MORE weeks for the install. The day before, We disconnected our garbage disposal, drains, sink, supply lines, etc. and tore out our old countertops The new countertops were installed. The island piece was too short, the sink piece didn't have the proper edge on one end. Because we had to wait for new countertops to be fabricated and scheduled for install, we had to temporarily reinstall the garbage disposal, drains, sink, supply lines, etc.... We waited for installers to come back AGAIN and replace BOTH pieces. Again, had to remove our garbage disposal, drains, sink, supply lines, etc. the night before. Not to mention each time We had to completely clear out our daily used supplies that are kept in the sink base cabinet, and put them back in after the sink and plumbing went back in...as well as coffee pot, blender, etc. Installers came and replaced the sink piece...but the right side was TOO SHORT this time!! Seriously. No joke. They left it in and told us someone would contact us about scheduling them back out..for the third time. THIRD TIME! Once again....reinstalled the sink, garbage disposal, supply lines, drains and put everything back in the cabinet and on the countertops We waited for the sink countertop to be installed a THIRD time. The day before once again we had to remove.....disposal, sink, clear cabinet, counters....you get the idea. When the third installation was done, we were left with a large gap between the back right corner where the back edge meets the wall. The installer caulked it but it looks bad. This wasn't a problem on the other TWO PIECES. How odd. Of course, My husband got home from work and reinstalled sink, disposal, etc....sink clips, restock the cabinet and countertop...and still end up UNHAPPY with the result My husband works 60+ hours a week. We have three you kids at home. HE DID NOT FEEL LIKE DEALING WITH PLUMBING OVER AND OVER AGAIN WHEN RETURNING HOME FROM WORK. We have plenty of other work around the house that needs done in the short amount of time we have as a family in the evenings . At the rate you guys charge to unhook and reinstall the plumbing....If you paid my husband for all the extra times He did that, that would Cost MORE THAN THE COST OF THE COUNTERTOPS. On top of all that, having to rearrange our schedules to make the time frames available to accommodate installers. My parents were involved, babysitters, We've have large dogs that had to be kept out in 90 degree heat Each time installers were at our house. And for it to STILL be done entirely wrong . Ugh. IT TOOK ME WAY LONGER to fuss with all of this than its taken you to read this so I don't feel bad for writing so much. I would be more descriptive but I don't have time. I'm not asking for the countertop to be redone again. We can't deal with all that anymore. I'd rather have my money back. But people...you've been warned. Find another place to go

Our contractor recommended this supplier. For the life of me, I dont know why. It looks viable. The showroom is spacious and has more samples than any I've seen locally. Its staff was courteous at first, and we didn't have to wait long to see a salesperson. Distrinctive Surfaces stocks an impressive selection of first quality and remnant stone countertops. We chose granite remnants. The salesman said the store would hold onto our stone until our contractor was ready to install it but when that time came, we found they had sold our stone to someone else. Distinctive offered no excuse or reason for this. After all, our salesperson explained, we had chosen remnants. He had never asked for a cash deposit, which we would have been happy to supply. He also never said there was a limit on how long the store would hold our stone. Although this story should have ended there, it did not. They told us to come back in, and like fools, we did...to select new stone. This time I paid up front. We soon learned that the design specs they created and I paid for were partially wrong. We got that corrected and they told us we would receive a credit for their error. Over a a month later, we still waited for it. When our contractor requested the new material, it took weeks before we could get them out to measure our cabinet tops, and several more weeks before they came back to install them. I found out they also supply and install stone for big box stores, so that may explain why are thrir service is so bad. When installers finally did come out for the installation, they came six hours late, on a Friday night, and had a backsplash cut wrong. It could not be installed as delivered. Since our material was a remnant, they couldn't supply additional matching quartz to cut the backsplash the way we had requested. We had to settle for a less attractive option. On top of that, they were brutal with our new cabinets (from a competing supplier) and used hammers to remove protective shipping materials. This damaged the cabinets. They had to make an adjustment to compensate us for that damage. All things considered, I cannot recommend this business. At every stage of the process, they messed up. This is not the first time I've dealt with counter suppliers and I never ran into similar problems. If you're looking for poor follow-through, spotty customer service, patronizing salespeople that make you feel like a second-class customer for choosing remnant stock; if you're happy with long waits, poor execution, comoromise and excuses, Distinctive may be right up your alley. We finally got a check for their second error. Nice to be done with them. For my next remodel, I'll go elsewhere.

We visited this company during CV-19 to get a quote on some kitchen and bath remodeling. Everything went well until they informed us that they wanted 100% payment upfront. Even under normal economic conditions I would never front 100% but in this environment this company is not doing installs and can't tell you when or if they will schedule your project. All of the risk is shifted to the buyer - risk that this company might not survive CV-19, risk that this company will not schedule your project in a timely manner, risk that this company will not perform the work satisfactorily. If you give them 100% upfront you have no recourse, other than expensive legal action, if things go wrong. Beware.

Installation of countertops has been frustrating. Despite several communications where they said install would happen with sink/plumbing, they left with only the counters attached. They didn't reattach the dishwasher, only set the sink in, removed the old sink and took the drain/bracket for the garbage disposal so can't install the disposal or the faucet or dishwasher. Even though I could have done the plumbing, I tried to attach G.D., no universal brackets would fit. No way to reach them Friday evening, talk to office Saturday morning, told they can't do anything till Monday. Sure hope they can return the GD bracket.

Total incompetence. That is the best way to describe the process with this company. For starters, it took nearly 3 weeks for them to come out to our house to measure for the countertops from the date of purchase. When I requested either an early or late time frame, I was told that they would call me the day before to set up a two-hour window. Hello! Most people have jobs, and those jobs aren't exactly happy when you have to take off and can't tell them until the day before when you'll be gone! Rinse and repeat this frustration for the installation date/time... On the date of the installation, DS failed to set up a plumber to hook up our kitchen sink, despite us paying over $200 to Home Depot for the service and despite it being on the work order. They were unable to get any plumbers out to the house until today, so for over 24 hours we went without a functioning kitchen. Plus, I had to take off work a THIRD day. The plumber showed up today and was unable to hook up our drainage pipes to the sink. Why? DS failed to note where the drain was located on our previous sink (right in the center) and gave us one with the drains located towards the back and middle. So, our existing plumbing lines, which worked perfectly fine, are now 2+ inches out of position, and the entire sink essentially needs re-plumbed. On top of that, we are STILL without running water or a functioning kitchen, and tomorrow will be Day 4 of this process with no resolution in sight. Run away!
