I would recommend Sean and Del Rio Stone to anyone wanting a great product and great customer service. I wasn't looking for a fancy showroom. I was looking for someone I could trust and who would do a good job on my kitchen We initially were going to just do the kitchen counter tops, but we ended up doing our bathrooms and the back splash as well because we were so happy with our experience. Thank you for all the team.

As an interior designer, fabricators are the heart and soul of a successful project entering completion. From countertops in the kitchen or bathroom to fireplace surrounds and shower walls, stone makes the ultimate difference in a space.
Carol and the entire team at Del Rio have made my job so much easier by being such great partners for my clients. They take their time with measuring, templating, checking the products I've selected and are great with final install as well. Their pricing is competitive which is a huge plus too.
More than anything, the communication is phenomenal (which if you've worked with so many trades you know sometimes is rare!)
I also really have enjoyed working with Del Rio because they don't shy away from any type of stone. They've particularly done some gorgeous porcelain and quartzite installs for me! I can't wait to have another opportunity to work with them.

I felt compelled to write a review because Del Rio Stone is truly amazing! They went above and beyond for me. The work that they did was impeccable. I highly recommend them, and I plan to use their services again for my bathroom remodel.
I am an interior designer and I will be referring them to all of my clients moving forward.
Carol is a sweetheart and advocate for your vision. She's so down to earth and puts the customer's needs first. The team is extremely professional and kept me up-to-date on my kitchen installation.

We did our kitchen countertop and master bath vanity at Del Rio Stone San Carlos. They are a very responsive service provider who does fabrication and installation. They were beautifully done. My general contractor is a very picky guy. He speaks highly of the the work they did. They are polite, responsive, and very reasonable pricing. I recommend highly this shop for your stone fabrication and installation work.

I can be a very tough customer if everything does not go well with a project, but I can honestly say this was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. We had Del Rio install a marble fireplace surround that went up 17' on the wall, and it came out stunning! Everyone we interacted with in the company was friendly, professional and on their game. The gals in the office always responded immediately to any/every question or request. And the guys that did the installation arrived on time, and always cleaned up after they were done for the day. But most importantly they did an outstanding job on the installation, using precision laser tools and lots of raw strength to lift the heavy slabs up and on the wall. And to top it all off, they were by far the least expensive of 3 bids we received on the project. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for stone fabrication and installation.

Del Rio did a fantastic job installing countertops and tiles in my home. They were very quick too - they installed the kitchens, the 4.5 baths, the fireplace, laundry room and mud room - all in 3 weeks. The countertops were Dekton, which very few installers are certified to handle. Their pricing for both the Dekton countertops and for all installation was best in class. Highly recommend!

Undercounter porcelain sink was cracked (when someone dropped a 2 pound item into it ) and needed to be replaced. Repair was not an option. I was told by plumber & bathroom designer that The sink could not be replaced without damaging the granite. I had nothing to lose, so I Called Del Rio Stone since had worked with them before. Daniel came out next day with installer to look at job, to confirm it could be done without damage, and give an estimate. Both men were super professional. We scheduled the sink replacement for today and three guys showed up exactly on time one. They were nice, professional, cleaned up, and you could tell they knew exactly what they were doing. Not only did they replace the sink and hook it back up, but they also sealed all the granite in the bathroom. We would recommend Del Rio Stone in a heartbeat! Outstanding work & customer service.
Definitely 5 *.

Well, after 17 years it was time for my white-tile kitchen counter top to go, plus I needed more cupboard space down below! I came up with my own design on how to do this and the next logical step was to decide what kind of counter top I wanted.
After researching all the pluses/minuses of the various countertop materials, I settled on Granite. I must have visited 10-15 different warehouses to narrow down the different color and patterns of granite that suited my taste. On thing I learned was that you could see the same "slab" in one warehouse and that one can look so much better than the same type slab in all the other places. A person really has to drive around and compare. Low and behold, I found a few slabs that really pop-ed or "stood out" compared to the others.
I purchased my slabs from a place in Burlingame called TEZ marble which was a smaller warehouse than the others but the quality of their slabs seemed to standout more in terms of beauty compared to the other warehouses.
I then solicited about 5 fabricators to bid on the information they wanted, pics included, and I was surprised that some would look at my project and not even turn around a proposal to me. It was easy to narrow the fabricators down to 2 and I decided to go with Sean at Del Rio. I like the way they documented the details of the job and how things would get priced out. I found their bid to be competitively priced and they gave me a good feeling they would work with me on any un-foreseen issues.
There was also one thing which gave Del Rio a heavy bias in the selection process too. When I was looking at slabs in the east bay, a guy there asked me who my fabricator was going to be. When I told him either the one business or Del Rio, he shot back and said Del Rio had an awesome saw and that they were working on some of his material for him. I thought that was great feedback between two pros from within the industry. Why roll the dice with a different fabricator and take the risk their equipment may not be the best. So I selected Del Rio for the job.
So I arranged to have the slabs shipped to Del Rio down 101 in Menlo Park. Well, there was a problem with these slabs I learned later. The slabs I selected had a few very small cracks in them in critical places. I was so happy Sean at Del Rio caught this before they were taken off the delivery truck. He saved my butt by not signing for the delivery. To make a long story shorter, Sean accompanied me back to the warehouse to re-select a few more slabs to make sure things were right. I was happy Tez marble made things right.
One thing to note on this job is I was able to do 95% of all the preparation work. Del Rio sent one of their guys to explain what had to be done and he supplied all the whats and whys. Pepe was a very patient/mellow guy and took the time to explain why everything had to be the way it needed to be, and once I had a look at a few Youtube videos, I could not believe how quickly I was able to cleanly remove the white tile countertops with minimal mess and energy. One or two plumbing vids later and I was all ready for Pepe's inspection. He was happy with what he saw and immediately built the measurement templates.
Since I needed just over 1 slab to accomplish the work, it made sense to use the extra slab material and include a few waterfalls at the sides of the cabinets. A waterfall is when you continue the countertop with a 90 degree bend vertically which ends at the floor. This made my finished product change from looking very nice to AWESOME !
Pepe and the team were just great. I am very happy how things went.
In terms of price, by luck, I stumbled across a guy who was also having his kitchen done. He considered himself too old to be doing what I had done and did not want the hassle of doing his own prep work. I think his contractor really raked him over the coals. His job cost more than double of what I paid so it helps a lot if you can watch youtubes and do some of the things on your own.
Bottom line is I am very happy with the way things worked out and my countertops are just awesome. Great job Del Rio.

I very recently had my kitchen countertops and a smaller bar area redone. Sean was my project manager. He and his team were unquestionably professional and wonderful to have worked with. Sean and his team went above and beyond my expectations and requests; making sure every detail was addressed in the most efficient and aesthetically pleasing manner. I definitely recommend Del Rio Stone. They are also very competitive with very fair pricing. It was a wonderful experience with Del Rio Stone and to have Sean and his team work in my home. They got it all done in less than one week. My family and I could not be happier. Thank you!

I was introduced by a commercial stone fabricator to Del Rio as an option to get tiles fabricated for home owners. The tile piece I needed to fabricate was a very thin tile from Spain that was 5' wide and 10 ' long, for my new fireplace. I never thought I could get the job done properly because the tile was so fragile and large.
The estimator WeiDa came right away after receiving my call and gave me a very reasonable estimate. Carol who is an energetic, intelligent and knowledgeable young lady, arranged the fabrication the day after I signed the contract. Shortly afterwards, the installers brought the tiles and installed them. It was such a beautifully done master piece - like a piece of art. Everyone at the job site was all admiring their work- FANTASTIC.
I later added a tub deck job to my work order. There were two pieces that were not aligned with my wall tile line. When I told Carol, she arranged the installers to re-install them to my satisfaction at no charge.
When I saw they were so professional and good, I gave all of my bathroom countertop jobs to them. They produced wonderful vanity counter tops.
Del Rio Stone is a A++ stone fabricator whose staff are warm, patient and professional. Their work is absolutely great and the price is very reasonable.
I would strongly recommend Del Rio Stone to all of my friends and family members.
Thank you Del Rio Stone for all the beautiful work you have done for me.

Absolutely fantastic. They just completed a huge job for me, 5 bathrooms, kitchen, entry floor. The workers/artists worked hard, were neat and exceeded my expectations for workmanship. The seams in the kitchen counter slabs are nearly invisible.

If you want quality and personable tile and countertop shaping, look no further. I contracted Del Rio to retile my counter tops and floor in the kitchen and bathroom. Their craftsmanship was exceptional (although the daily pace of work was at times was slow). They were able to use every bit of the expensive tile and marble with almost no waste. If I have a complaint I would say that you must be prepared to project manage the construction yourself to be sure that work and materials arrive and complete on time. Great work!

Del Rio is doing our slab fabrication and slab (double vanity, tub surround, niche shelf) and our tile install. They came highly recommended by our designer, but so far, they've been uncoordinated and not very easy to work with. I just keep muttering to myself that it will all be worth it when it's done.
Part of the reason we went with them was that they could do the onyx fabrication and the tile install very professionally. They had a whole team out to measure and discuss everything. Did the layout and my designer and I were concerned whether everything was exactly right; Ernesto said he was fine trimming pieces on site to fit the tub deck. They came out and installed the vanity, but then said the deck pieces were too big because they had measured before the tile guy put the mortar stuff on the walls -- well, it was their guy measuring and their guy doing the tiling, so you'd think they could communicate that to the layout/stone fab guys.
When would they come back to do the deck, since they didn't want to trim on site? Answer: maybe tomorrow. It ended up being six days later, with no call for several days to let me know this and everything held up in the meantime. I checked in twice the morning of the install to see if they needed me for anything -- nope, almost done. I leave, and an hour later, my designer calls to see if I can go back for plumbing layout to drill the faucet holes. What? I just asked if they needed me and they said no!
Still waiting on the tile install, which I am hoping goes more smoothly than the stone work so far. I will say that the slab looks very nice. Will update when this is all done.

Avoid if possible. Templating was scheduled for June 11th but the person showed up several hours late. Production was supposed to be done within a couple weeks, but on June 19th I emailed to inquire about status...no reply, same the next day. Then after confirming photos by email there was radio silence so I asked again when would this be installed. Took a couple emails over the course of a week or so before a response came on June 27 saying it was scheduled to be installed July 10th. July 10th rolls around and I get an email that morning saying they're not coming, but will come on June 14th. Today is June 14th and no one is here. No call, no email. Left messages and cant get a call back. Really disappointing. I would avoid this company if you want someone who services customers well and delivers predictably.

Stay away from this place! They have never heard of the term "customer happiness".
January - Got first quote.
Mid September Got a refreshed quote, same price same job.
During October - tried to coordinate them to pickup the stone from the place I bought it from.
November - tried to call to push them picking up the stone and start working on it.
Emails and phones calls were never answered, only going to the office back door (front door was locked) finally had a chance to speak with somebody, I was promised I'd be taken care of and things would work smooth, just one thing he need to confirm my quote... after waiting for a few days with no calls from delRio, I called them to ask about the quote confirmation, they still didn't have a confirmation but they already picked my stone without any signed contract at the moment. After a few more calls with no response, only driving there I finally met Carol, the "manager" (what a joke) again a promise I'll be taken care of... and nothing for another day. After few more texts directly to Carol, I received a new quote that was very close to DOUBLE the number I have had received twice (same exact job, nothing has changed), but now they already had my stone... they have never apologized, or mentioned any mistake on their side, only tried to justify the price by telling me stories about how many people they need to do the job...
No chance I would fall for this cheap trick, I had to make sure they bring it back to the store I bought from, and had to look for a new fabricator. Today it got finally installed (January).
The project was a simple fireplace+tv stone with 2 cuts. They literally preferred not to try come to any agreement with me. They would rather screw someone's project, get a bad review and forever burn a bridge with a local customer over less than 1000$. (The delta was around 2k, I didn't mind to pay half, would've they just apologized for the mistake.)
I tried to reach out the the business owner, by phone call and text, explaining how his team is sinking his business. Never got a response.
FYI, their team works from Brazil, which leads to huge delays in communication, if you are lucky enough to get a response.
SAVE YOUR TIME, ENDLESS TRIPS AND MONEY!

Worst customer service I have ever had. Hired them for a barbecue granite top. They told me it would be a couple of weeks. They asked that I go see the slabs to confirm but sent me to San Mateo when the slabs were in San Jose. They then asked me to confirm through pictures, which I did and they said they would install in 2 weeks. Weeks went by, after several calls and emails went unanswered I finally reached someone and they told me I had to go see the slabs to confirm. No reason why they did not ask me before and the install date had passed. Three months later still no install. Then confirmed new install date but they had the template wrong. More delays. No returned calls. They finally came to install with a crew that continually used my trees and landscaping to urinate on even though there was a portable toilet there to use. Then they sent me a final invoice that was wrong. I emailed them three times to correct the invoice but they just kept on sending the wrong invoice and demanding to be paid. Horrendous customer communication and they just lie over and over again. Do not use this business you will regret it.

Del Rio is incredibly unorganized. I call to make an appointment. I was told someone would get right back to me. A week went by and nothing. I called again, explained what happened, new guy apologized and said he would figure out what happened and nothing. Waited a week and called again. Talked to yet another person because the other two were unavailable. She said she would send me a quote. Nothing.
I should have given up.
But I called again and finally got the project scheduled. I sent pictures a month ago so they would know the scope of the work.
They arrived today and can't do the job. So frustrating!

I have had the SAME thing happen to me as did Kimberly K. Del RIo came highly recommened by my contractor and now I just can't see why!
The man that came out for the measuring of my shower walls for stone was great! It is the lack of communication in that office! Karol is one of the owners and she is constantly saying, yes I will call you back and yes you are on the schedule for "whatever day", then that day comes and I have noone here. When I call the office I get a reply of, Karol isn't in ( it's 11am, and she hasn't made it to work yet) I see you were on the schedule, and we dont know what happened! I get no call back, no call from Karol, no NOTHING. I spoke to one Gal in April and she was the sweetest thing, but I was told she is on leave and woudnt be back till after August. As far as I know she still isn't back. This is the WORST experience so far with my construction. DEL RIO IS THE WORST!

Does Del Rio Stone offer cutouts for sinks, cooktops, or other elements?
Yes, like most professional contractors in the market, Del Rio Stone performs cutouts and countertop preparation for various components — both standard and modern. According to our findings, these services are typically included in the overall project estimate. The standard scope usually covers cutouts for sinks (undermount, drop-in, or farmhouse) and holes for faucets or other plumbing fixtures. Additional cutouts — such as for cooktops, hidden or pop-up outlets, built-in wireless chargers, or other accessories — are discussed individually at the project planning and estimating stage.
It’s important to note that while the cutouts and countertop preparation are usually performed by the company, the installation of electrical and plumbing fixtures (such as faucets, outlets, or appliances) may not be included in their scope of work and could require licensed professionals. We recommend clarifying this point when placing your order.
To avoid misunderstandings, ask for a detailed estimate with a breakdown of all services: cutout pricing, installation, and any add-on options. This will ensure project transparency and help you clearly understand what you're paying for.
What guarantees does Del Rio Stone provide for its work?
According to our information and industry practice, Del Rio Stone, like most participants in the ranking, provides a workmanship warranty valid for 1 year from the date of countertop installation. This period is usually specified in the contract. We do not rule out that the company may have extended warranty terms (2 years or more), however, during our research, we did not receive confirmed data from the contractor regarding the duration and scope of its warranty.
The contractor’s warranty covers defects in fabrication and installation, such as uneven or separating seams, leveling and fastening issues, detachment or sagging of an undermount sink, flaws in edge finishing and cutouts, premature failure of seam materials, and cutouts that do not match the approved design. Warranty coverage does not include damage from use (thermal shock/burn marks from hot cookware, chips or cracks caused by impacts), stains and acid etching (for marble), wear due to insufficient maintenance or lack of sealing, natural characteristics of stone (veins, micro-pores, variations in shade/pattern within tolerances), shifts caused by base deformation, or any modifications performed by third parties.
The material warranty is provided by the manufacturer or the official stone supplier. Engineered quartz brands often offer a limited “lifetime” warranty for residential properties (subject to registration and compliance with care guidelines). For sintered surfaces, typical warranty periods range from 10 to 25 years. Natural stone usually does not come with a factory warranty — its quality of fabrication and installation is covered by the contractor’s warranty. The term and scope of the warranty depend on the project and materials — contact Del Rio Stone in any convenient way on this page to get the current terms.
