Capitol Granite was wonderful to deal with on some repair and re-sealing my granite countertops. From initial contact with Ben to actual service with Zach was great! Thank you.

Capitol Granite installed new countertops in my kitchen - just in time for Christmas. Never have I had such wonderful customer service - both at their shop and in my home - and what they installed for me is beyond perfection! I have the most beautiful kitchen in Virginia because of them. I cannot say enough about how wonderful I think they are and will use them for all my granite or marble installations. Superior service! Everyone who has seen my newly remodeled kitchen cannot believe how beautiful and large it looks. The new countertops are awesome!

We loved working with Capitol Granite! Beth helped us select the perfect countertops for our kitchen and even emailed us from her vacation to help guide us through the process. Capitol did a wonderful job creating and installing our countertops. The craftsmanship is exceptional. I highly recommend Capitol and would use them again.

I had the honor of working with Kelly R. at Capitol Granite. She made the entire process easy and fun! In my attempt to DIY my bathroom, I ended up needing a top that wasn’t a standard size. Kelly guided me efficiently through the process and kept in touch throughout. The vanity top was finished much sooner than the 2-3 weeks quoted and came out beautifully. I highly recommended Capitol Granite and, of course, Mrs. Kelly Rodriguez!

What a Great experience with Ben and Capitol Granite. We had built our house 25 years ago and just this year added a set of base cabinets and wall cabinets for a pantry due to renovations. Met with Ben to see if they could match up the new countertop for the pantry base cabinets. Well the new countertop was an exact match to our 25 year old Corian countertops. We can’t be more pleased with the product and service. We highly recommend them for your countertop needs. First photo is of original countertops second is the exact match with the new. We are pleased beyond words.

We worked with Capitol Granite for our Kitchen and upstairs Baths a few years ago, and we went with them again for our downstairs bath vanity top. Ben was great helping with selection and providing a quote in a timely manner, and coordinating with getting a template and scheduling.

We had new Granite countertops installed in our kitchen and we could not be more happy. We used Capitol Granite on the recommendation of a local builder who used them in the past and they did not disappoint. Everyone was friendly and the work was done on time. Very professional and courteous folks. We highly recommend them!

I have been a happy customer of Capital Granite for more than a decade. Their attention to details and expertise has been the best I have experienced in the industry. As a cabinet maker an estimator of commercial millwork I have seen my fair share of countertops and Capital Granite has always provided the best quality at the right price and the work has always been fabricated and installed on time.

Capitol Granite has the best customer service! Kelly always communicated with me and followed up after each step. She made great product recommendations, and when I found a sink online for cheaper, Kelly met the online price.my counter tops look beautiful and you cannot see the seems without close inspection - they are great quality. The installation was quick and smooth, they cleaned up afterwards. Absolutely will use this company again! THANK YOU, KELLY!!!

From start to finish working with Capitol Granite was an amazing experience. We walked in without an appointment, browsed, and the team answered any questions we had. The turn around time for our project was extremely fast and Kelly was by our side every step of the way. She was not only communicative and knowledgeable but made us feel like family. We worked with many contractors throughout our renovation; the ease, precision, and overall care of Capital Granite is truly unmatched. We couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend this company to anyone who asks!

Wow, wow, wow! Such a positive experience from the time we walked in the door. Answered all our questions with such professionalism and made us feel taken care of. Spent a lot of time with us trying to find a match for a piece of quartz we already had on existing cabinets. We couldn’t be more happy with our choice and the quality of workmanship. Walked in on a Monday afternoon late and had product in hand on Friday afternoon. Would recommend Capitol Granite to anyone. And I should mention the cost was half that in comparison to quotes at Lowes and Home Depot. Thank you so much for helping complete our project!

I love how the quarts countertop came out. I wanted a soft look to go with my white cabinets and walnut island. The Ben and Brian were very patient as I looked for a piece that did not have veins. I settled on Clouds. It is hard to see in the photos, but there are soft patches of color floating throughout. They also were willing to work within my timeline.

They have a broad selection of granite & quartz to choose from. The finished product is top quality at a reasonable price. We have new counters in our kitchen & 3 bathrooms that are beautiful. We were also able to select sinks & faucets. Personnel were very knowledgeable and friendly. The actual installation is done by Patriot Renovations, and they did an outstanding job.

It was wonderful working with Capitol Granite. Their prices were truly $3000 (yes, $3000!) less than their competitor for the quartz countertop and finish that I wanted. I purchased a vanity top from a remnant through Home Depot, and I was sent here. Since my daughter had purchased her kitchen countertops here, I knew they were good. I really can't say enough good things about them. The price on the vanity top was $100 less than their competitors, even through Home Depot. But their service could not have been better. They helped me pick out my stone, made double sure we had given them the right measurements, and even carried it to our station wagon. The top is beautiful, and very substantial. Next time, I will go straight to them. Excellent service, and an excellent product!

The granite is beautiful but....the first slab was cut wrong which pushed our kitchen project back an additional week. The second slab was also cut so that an extra seam was necessary. So they had to cut a new piece which took another week. The caulking was sloppy and had to be redone. Overall not the best experience.

The overall experience was ok, the installers were late and never called so I had to call and follow up only to find out they were about an hour behind. They were very efficient with the install, they made sure to work clean and took good care of my house while there. After they left I noticed there was what looked like a chip in the quartz top and it appeared someone attempted to fill the spot in, I attempted to reach out to my sales rep and get this addressed and finally after a week they sent someone out to look at it and that person just did a better job filling in the spot when I expected to have the top replaced or price reduced since I paid top dollar for quartz. Since the person came out nobody from the office has even attempted to contact me to see if I'm happy with the result so I guess I'm just stuck with the top. I would recommend if you have tops done make sure to look them over very closely before you sign off anything.

Wasn't real impressed. They have you pay for 100% of the work prior to doing anything and have you sign a waiver releasing them of the impending damage they will do to your tile and walls during the demolition part. I had faith in them that they would not create any issues, but they did. So, after they tear your walls up, and you request someone to repair their damage, they will give you names of people that, apparently, have no intentions of responding or calling you back. We eventually found and paid for someone that we hired to repair the damage.

We hired Capital Granite to do our Quartz countertops. They were great at first. Then came installation day. The installers were great. But when we checked their work there was a seam. A seam we were not told about. When I inquired about the seam they said I needed to talk to the sales people. I then contacted the sales person and was not satisfied with their answer. The drawing was then sent to us, mind you after the work was done. Then I spoke with the general manager and he said my walls were not square. Again after the work was done. His last words to me were anyways. Thats it anyways. This is a disgrace for the company anyways. who the hell leaves a situation with anyways. please be careful and get all details before the work is done.

I just got my counter tops installed a few months ago. It was quite a process... Pros: Decent Price Cons: I was sent multiple invoices from them that had mistakes, I had to do my own math and calculate the correct costs, phone calls would not be returned for days If you want a decent price you can use them, if you want the whole process to take 6 months with tons of road bumps for 40 sq/ft then I think you should use them as well.

While the countertop itself is nice, the install was done very carelessly. I assumed there will be some marking of the wall surrounding the area they were placing the new countertop, but I have gouges on walls that are not even associated with the countertop. I sent pictures to the company and the response I got was that they are not liable for any damage and as a concession they would give me a cutting board made from the same material as the countertop. Again, the countertop itself is beautiful but just be aware that any damage they do is up to the client to repair.

Our kitchen sink fell out from underneath the counter one evening while we were soaking some dishes. The water got everywhere and even under our refrigerator. I have owned other homes with under mount sinks before, for much longer and this is the first time I've had this happen. I checked underneath the sink and could tell this was a quick and careless job. There were only five clips securing the sink along with a piece of wood drilled into the back of the flimsy piece of the counter. I'm fortunate it didn't rip a piece of the cabinet off with the sink. Further, they only used a bead of caulk to finish the hold. They should've used a two part epoxy compound. A full sink of water is between 25 - 55lbs. Our sink was only 1/3 full... In addition to their lack of attention to detail, I'd like to highlight their poor customer service. I submitted a service request on a Monday, was contacted Friday, just to be told it would be another seven days before they could get someone out to do a 45 min job. I told the associate that we have already been without a kitchen sink a whole week. Our family prepares food there, cleans dishes there, washes hands there. Furthermore we've been eating out every evening due to not having a kitchen sink. I said, you don't realize how important a kitchen sink is until you go without it. Without skipping a beat, he simply responded, "that's the best I can do."

DO NOT USE THEM!!! I went with Capitol Granite because of their stellar reviews. Boy, was I wrong. They damaged 3 walls during installation. When I asked at the time I was told I would be given a discount to offset the cost of repairs. The installation technician also told me that my account was paid up. The quartz piece is crap. It is shedding a dusty sandy material and feels like nails on a chalkboard. I was hoping it would just go away with time, but it isn't. Its really a horrible sensation and dust is getting all over my clean clothes constantly, even though I clean the countertop daily. And - to top it all off - they're now calling to say I owe them more money! As I said - I was told at installation that my account was paid up. Actually, I was told I would be getting money back to help pay for repairs. And now they expect me to pay more for a really crummy product. Save yourself the headache - shop elsewhere!!

In October 2016 we did a kitchen remodel including base cabinets, wall cabinets pantry, island with base cabinets, granite counter-tops, granite island country-top, double sink and faucet. 30 year sealant for granite. Installation was slower than expected and there were a number of issues requiring adjustment, replacement, and repairs. One of the granite counter-tops was too wide and had to be field cut- the cut edge is rough finish with chips and edge radius does not match. Not sure that the tech applied the sealant. Crown molding was (2) sections and were poorly matched. Capitol rep (Brian) advised they would take care of. Repair was as bad or worse than original. Capitol tech said he would use single length- then later Capitol says that particular molding was not available in that length (10-1/2' ????) but tech could glue two sections in shop and joints would match and it would look like one piece. Not true- when tech came to fix he had two pieces and, once again, misapplied and with gap. Brian at Capitol offers fix to split the molding and insert two accents ( and they would only charge us $ 600). Thanks but no thanks, it was faulty installation by Capitol and they should make the proper correction. Big problem I have is that Capitol does not or will not reply to emails and phone calls- clearly they do not want to correct their problems. We are really disappointed!

As for the actual work done on our granite countertops and kitchen backsplash. I think they did a great job. But if I take into account what I requested was not actually done, the instructions provided to us prior to signing off on the estimate were provided incorrectly and that administratively this was by far the worst business transaction I have ever experienced as a customer and business professional. In my book, you are definitely better off finding someone else to do your countertops and backsplash. The list of things that went awry: 1. It was not told to us that we had to buy matching caulk for the backsplash, we were only instructed to buy grout. No specifics provided on grout so we had to go back out to buy caulk and exchange for sanded grout, mind you, we provided pics of the natural stone we bought 2. Extreme lack of communication, the backsplash installers asked if we bought sealer but the admin side of the company said it was included in our cost fortunately that was resolved 3. The work on our countertop and backsplash was proposed for 4 days. Everything ended up taking 7-8 days span of 3 months, thank god I work from home 4. It was never discussed with us the cost of tearing off our existing countertops it ended up being determined on site. I was quoted $140 but the company later claimed it was $329, no written documentation was ever provided on the disposal. So in essence it was my word against theirs... conveniently enough the person handling the case "Helen" was no longer there 5. I was pretty much called a liar not directly when I indicated that they never sealed our backsplash... the installer told my husband that they would call us back to come back and seal after their "big" kitchen job, no call until they were searching for payment. Mind you almost 2 months later when the job started in July. Anyway that's when the following happened 5. I requested high gloss sealer for the backsplash and had it in email confirmation, once during the early stages of the job and another time the day before they finally sent the installer back to seal (mind you this took probably 3 weeks for them to send someone after they contacted me 2 months later to get billed) technically natural stone can use high gloss even though the installer pretty much claimed that you can't get much gloss when dealing w/ natural stone, of course you can't, if you use plain sealer. I went with it as I was tired of it all. 6. The whole job took almost three months to complete as it started the first week of July, technically not complete because I didn't get high gloss in my mind 7. Followed up with them indicating the high gloss issue, did not hear back even though I called and left a message. They called back and pretty much wanted to bill me never answering my original concerns which I emailed to Helen, come to find out she is no longer with the company in the midst of this, so of course I'm totally unmotivated to pay my second half based on everything 8. Anyway emailed back and forth w/Kelly (nice but I'm sure she wasn't a fan of me) customer experience specialist supervisor since I do travel a bit for work and in meetings all day, I provided her the list of issues & she also claimed they sealed the backsplash and sent someone out again to reseal because of my complaint. Common knowledge when I googled that you should seal prior and after grouting with natural stone, so again I was made to sound like I was lying that the installer said they would come back to seal. The same installer came back & apologized that he didn't call us back to seal 9. Best part of all of this is how they handled their accounting, apparently they were supposed to charge the full 3% convenience fee on the subtotal if you use credit card during the first transaction. They only charged me for the first half and originally said that was it, but later backtracked and said it should have been on the subtotal. I refused to pay the fee on the second half because of what I documented them saying so that was excused for the second payment. I started going back to the invoices I had a copy of as I questioned how my total increased so drastically, since I didn't have the final amount with the tear off fee for the countertops. That was where the extra cost was coming from so I argued about that. Finally they agreed to let me pay $140 instead of the $329. Then as I was reviewing the invoices I noticed they only charged a 3.18% on the subtotal for sales tax not 5.3%. I brought this to their attention and they didn't seem to care, so I was like ok :) Then for all my trouble they originally wanted to discount $300 but I said we need to double that based on the fact that I would need to take care of the high gloss sealer. They agreed. Yes, I got a discount but the time I spent just getting them to be reasonable due to my troubles was ridiculous. I concluded this chapter today ~4 months after the job started. Check your invoice!

We had capitol install our new kitchen table tops through lowes, and they delayed our kitchen remodel by 2 months, holding everyone up. The general contractors said they are pos and terrible to work with and told us some other horror stories of them screwing up jobs. Please if you see lowes contracting them in your kitchen remodel, cancel or find someone else, not having a kitchen with dishwasher and sink for 2 months is terrible, especially when you're paying top dollar for a kitchen remodel. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Probably one of the worst companies I have every dealt with. I had two countertops installed in a bathroom in May 2015. The countertops were pitted, not shiny and it just terrible condition. They sent a guy out to fix them but all he did was use a razor blade to try to scrape off the residue, which made even bigger pits. The second guy spent about an hour, they looked much better. However, after about two weeks, they turned green. Mandy in the Williamsburg office is not friendly or helpful. I sent pictures, to date they have not followed up. Terrible customer service and products

We used capitol granite through Lowe's and it was a disaster! ! They came the first time and broke the countertop at the point of the sink area and tried to hide it. As I came in from work I noticed them trying to mend it. They told me the cabinets were not level and it broke. Although there own template man said they were level, I agreed to have a contractor come out and level them at my expense. Capitol came out again with the new countertops and once again broke them and once again tried to hide the breaks by putting in the sink, which is never to be installed before 24 after tops are in. I called capitol and they said my sink lip was too narrow and that's why they broke the second time. Thank goodness I bought them through Lowe's or I would have been stuck with horrible tops and terrible craftsmanship. I called 5 star and they came out and said cabinets and sink were perfect. 5 star just finished my countertops and they look spectacular. I wouldn't let capitol put tops in my dog house. Update 12/18/14: We just received word from Lowe's that Capitol Granite has refused to work with us any further. Apparently, once they learned that we reported their questionable business tactics to the BBB (the first time in our lives either my wife or I have ever filed a BBB report), they refused to perform our granite fabrication or installation. Fortunately, Lowe's was able to expeditiously find an alternate fabricator/installer who will use our selected slabs to complete the contracted work. Original post: Capitol Granite subcontracts for Lowe's of Charlottesville and is, at this time, their only granite subcontractor. As such, we have no other option for granite fabrication and installation which is quite unfortunate. Thus far, our experience with Capitol Granite has been atrocious. In brief, our major grievances are (1) their front desk employee in particular has had a horrible attitude and acts as if inconvenienced by merely interacting with customers both on the phone and in person (2) we were incorrectly told we could only select from partial slabs or remnants rather than a full slab (3) we were first told we could select an alternate product more to our liking, but when the slab layout was sent to us the incorrect slab was used (4) Capitol employees denied making this switch and were adamant the slab we selected was used, until we reached the manager who confirmed the wrong slab was used as verified by the lot/product numbers in her computer - she could not explain to us why this occurred. At this time, we have not received the partial slabs we selected despite having made a 160-mile roundtrip to select our specific slabs. More details: #2 - They informed us that because Lowe's calculates granite prices by square feet, we are not entitled to a full slab of granite and would have to accept remnants and/or partial slabs - in phone conversation with a Lowe's manager they vehemently denied this and were shocked to hear that we were told this by Capitol. #3 - After we drove 80 miles one-way to select our Sensa Tanami granite (Lowe's name for Giallo Ornamental granite treated with Sensa's "senguard") we were disappointed to see that the lot for the Lowe's product differed drastically from the store sample. More specifically, the Sensa Tanami at Capitol appeared much more brown and was nearly indistiguishable from a less expensive (per Lowe's pricing) Santa Cecilia also on the lot. Because we were dissatisfied, the Capitol employee working the storage yard was kind enough to educate us that Sensa Tanami is just Giallo Ornamental with the Senguard applied - as such, he called Lowe's and received authorization to use a Giallo Ornamental slab to our liking and Capitol would apply the Senguard themselves. This process then became exceedingly complicated when the front desk staff informed the storage lot employee and ourselves that slab (and 2 others we liked as "backup") were all already claimed despite not being marked as such. This caught the storage employee quite by surprise, and increased our skepticism of the front desk employee's forthrightness. The front desk employee then went on to explain #2 above, which seems at this point to be an outright lie. We then settled upon 2 partial slabs with sufficient square footage and awaited the Slab Layout so that we could schedule installation. #4 - A few days later, we were sent the slab layout by email. Upon reviewing the images, it was blatantly obvious to us that the wrong slab had been used for the layout. More specifically, the Sensa Tanami lot that we declined at the time of our in-person visit was used without our authorization, rather than the product we selected in person. The front desk employee was adamant that the layout was the product we had selected, even though it was clearly not. We asked to speak with a manager who ultimately admitted that the product used for layout was NOT the one we had selected, and that it was NOT consistent with the lot/product numbers entered into their computer. The numbers in the computer matched the partial slabs we had selected, but she had no explanation as to why they were not the ones used. Our core issue with Capitol and why we would not recommend them to anyone is that their actions to this point in time have amounted to lying on more than one occasion during this process. They have made what we perceive to be duplicitous attempts to switch our selection with an inferior product in the hopes that we did not catch this switch and would approve the inferior product so they could get it off of their lot and out of their inventory. Hopefully Lowe's of Charlottesville can find another reputable granite supplier in the area, as anyone interested in buying granite through them will have to go through Capitol Granite for the time being.

I purchased countertops through Home Depot from Capital Granite. I chose the most popular granite color for a rental unit that I own. It was a small kitchen that only required one medium size piece of granite and one small piece. They had a sufficient lead time of 6 weeks and I had an install date set one week before tenant was to move in. Three days before install date I called because I had not heard from them and they informed me that they did not have my granite in stock and did not know when they could get it. I had to scramble to cancel order and impose on another granite company to meet my deadline. The other company came through for me, charged less with no upcharge for under-mount sink, and was so much more professional. Complete lack of communication and overpriced.
