2 days ago Used California Granite and would not recommend! The marble countertop was installed incorrectly and tried to fix it with an inch of caulk on the right side! Had to remove and reset countertop. The back splash looked like a chain saw cut it. They had to cut another piece. The back wall was so tore up, it took me over a day to spackle, sand, paint and add new caulk. They dropped their tools in my brand-new cabinets and gouged them up as well as the walls on either side to install the countertop. And they couldn't cut 3 circles in a line for the 8 inch center faucets. Won't be calling them when I renovate the kitchen.

I drove 150 miles from VA, so 300 mile round trip that took 6 hrs, to collect two pieces of soapstone that Armando had promised would be cut and ready for collection this morning. When I got there, was told Armando wasn’t in (!) today, and receptionist, who was only person there knew nothing about my order. She tried calling Armando but no answer. So I had to leave and drive 150 miles home, and only thing I achieved in driving 6 hrs round-trip was to burn $50 in gas. After expressing my frustration, Armando kindly offered to deliver the soapstone from NC to my home in VA free of charge. The supplied soapstone is extraordinary and I am very happy. Such a shame that this situation occurred, but Armando stepped up and resolved the issue.

California Granite just completed my countertops. I was a little skeptical because I found them through Fb instead of an actual reference and their prices beat all of my other estimates hands down. However, they came in and installed the new countertops with waterfalls and they look very nice and I’m loving my new deep sink! There were a couple of issues that needed to be fixed. They worked with me to resolve promptly, with one of the owners and supervisors coming out to ensure it was made right. I highly recommend!

I am very pleased with the installation of my new countertops that were installed recently. The whole transaction from the quote to the actual installation went smoothly and on time. I was extremely pleased with seam area, it is barely visible. As for the cost, I was able to get granite for less than an other company quoted me for Formica.

I was hesitant to post a poor review after our install in June 2024, but after they tried cashing a check that was supposed to be shredded back in June at the beginning of SEPTEMBER and then called us telling us it bounced I decided to warn others of this business. We love supporting small businesses but we had so many issues with our install and back and forth with trying to get it fixed. We had to have them come out 3 times before they actually buffed all the scratches and gouges that we repeatedly sent photo emails of. It wasn’t until my husband met them in person (this is a house Renovation we are not currently living in) did we get everything buffed and sanded correctly, along with the island actually cut correctly. This was also after putting blue painters tape alone every gouge and scratch the first time they came out to show all the issues. There was either scratches or gouges on every counter. Attention to detail and pride in their work is not there. The seam along the sink was terrible as well and quite an eye sore but I had to let it go as we were going in circles with repairs. So back to the check situation. I dropped off my first deposit and realized directly afterwards it was a check from the wrong account so I brought a back up check just in case. They had no issues cashing the first check and assured me the back up check would be shredded in June. After going back and forth with all the repairs, my husband gave them final payment in July. Fast forward to today, September 14, we get a call that the check they were supposed to shred has bounced and we would be responsible for the fee. They should never have run that check as we had already paid in full! Not to mention 2 months after final install!! Just beware of who you give business to. Unfortunately, we learned the hard way

Beware to ask questions about where they plan to put the breaks in your granite countertops. They came out and measured and did a template so we thought they had a good idea where the breaks would be. We ended up with terrible breaks right at our sink and stove that did not match at all and even changed direction. This was our first time putting granite into a home and we had no idea the questions we should’ve asked. We assumed they were the professionals and they’d hide the breaks the best location possible and with little notice. We were wrong. Also, the markings in the granite we were given were different than what was in the slab I picked out at the store. It seems as if we were given scraps from other slabs that were not ours. It all was very frustrating and unfortunately we are stuck with this mismatched puzzle piece. —Ask questions! Learn from our mistakes.

California Granite and Flooring recently upgraded my kitchen and half bath countertops and added a new backsplash in my kitchen. The team was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. Jessica measured my kitchen area, showed me available materials at the showroom, made recommendations, and provided a detailed estimate. The estimate was competitive when compared to the other companies that I considered. The work crew started on time, kept the area clean, and hauled away all debris. Jessica stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process and tirelessly answered many questions. After the installation, the crew even came back to seamlessly touch up a few scratches and imperfections on the countertops. From start to finish, I highly recommend considering this company if you are in the market for a new countertop or backsplash.

I didn't have the same issues other people have posted about. So either I got lucky, or I had a really good guy come and do my counters. They scheduled a time for the person to come measure and then one week later the granite was installed. It was done pretty fast. Did a great job. It was cheaper when you pay them in cash. Didn't have any issues with communication. They responded back to me via email during normal business hours. Don't be discouraged by the poor reviews.

We are looking to replace the counter top on our island. We had a guy come out to measure from California Granite and was told we would have an estimate by the end of that week. I never received any thing. Two weeks went by so I called just to make sure they had the correct email. I spoke to someone who took down my email and said she would send the estimate right over. Never got it. I just called again and was put on "hold" but no one ever came to the phone. I've decided to look elsewhere.

We walked in on a Saturday to discuss replacing our kitchen counters. There were several men in a back room who saw us walk in and got up and closed the office door without speaking to us. A few minutes later, a woman walked inside who was helping 2 other customers. She did not even acknowledge our existence. She could have at least said, "welcome. I'm helping these people but will be with you shortly". But, nope. Nothing. After another couple of minutes, we just walked out. Went to the store front, and requested an estimate on flooring and was going to follow up on countertops as the project progressed. The estimator came out and took measurements. I waited a couple of weeks and called for a status and didn't receive a follow up call. Went by there the next week and was promised that the rep would call me with an estimate. I still have not received a call, apology for no follow up contact nor anything. I went to another competitor, and have an estimate in hand and processed my order.

This place is a joke. Ordered a vanity top and sink. The gave me a date to pick them up. I show. The girl tells me they haven't even started to make my vanity top. Says it will be ready in a couple of hours. Tells me she will call me when it's are ready , she never calls by the end of the day. I show up the next day after trying to reach someone on the phone there, they never answer their phone. I get there, they say it's ready. They bring it out., no sink, no hole for the faucet! Wait 20 minutes for them to complete. This place is run by amateurs and are not very professional. Stay clear is my advice if you want quality and a good experience..

If you are looking for a company that promises a lot and doesn't deliver, this is the place. If you want to repeatedly be told when someone will be at your house at a certain time or on a certain day just to have nobody arrive or call, this is the place for you. If you want to leave messages that are never returned, this is the place for you. Yes, they will probably save you some money, but I truly believe that the stress it produces while the job is getting done isn't worth it. When my bathroom was remodeled, Armando (son of the owner) was always telling my wife and I when someone would be at our house, just to not arrive when we are told; sometimes completely different days. By the time we figured out what we were dealing with, we were too far along to start over with someone else. I never gave a review when the bathroom was finally finished because it looked to be a good job and Armando told us that they believed in the quality so much that if any mold ever appeared or a problem ever came up, they would come in and fix it at no charge. I will say that the sealing job was sub-par and I had to have it sealed again. It was apparent when the tiles changed color when wet, indicating the water seeping into the natural tile floor. Fast forward a little over 2 years and we started getting a lot of mold and I noticed that there were cracks in the grout along the floor and wall corners. I went into the store and was told they didn't do that kind of repair. I told them that Armando had told me otherwise, so they told me when he would be in. I returned and spoke to him. I was told that they would get the supplies top fix t by the next Wednesday. A week after that Wednesday, I stopped by to see when they were going to fix it. Armando said it would be that Friday. Since then, they didn't show up, didn't call, didn't return or acknowledge my texts directly to Armando's phone about what was going on. I finally asked if the failure to get back to me was an indication that I was on my own but they never returned that message either. Trust me, unless you like what I outlined, you should go elsewhere.

Although we did end up with a beautiful piece of granite, we would not recommend California Granite and would certainly not work with them again. Their overall communication was mediocre and the work was sloppy. When they installed the granite, we realized that the measurements were off in several places and it was cut too short next to the stove (see pic). They also cut one notch a bit too long, which would have left a 1cm gap between the wall and the granite. They initially offered us a $400 discount, but did end up recutting the piece when we asked. Our project was delayed for four days and the second piece was too long, so our stove didn't fit in the gap between the counters. They sent someone out the next day to cut it down, delaying the project even further, but the man who came by didn't have the tools to do the job so they needed to come back yet another time to actually shave the granite. When they cut the stone they didn't hang plastic or box themselves in, so now we have granite dust over everything in our kitchen, dining room, and living room. The entire inside of our brand new hood and vent is covered with dust and is impossible to clean completely. Our coffee table is covered with dust. All of the pots and pans that we'd taken out of our cabinets and were keeping in the living room during the remodel are covered with dust. The granite in the bar area is also not flush with the wall and left a big gap to caulk. There is one seam by our sink and it is okay, but I've seen much better seams. Our contractor has been very unimpressed by their work. They also have not been very apologetic for the mistakes, and when the men came to replace the improperly cut granite they made it seem like we were inconveniencing them. The employee we were working with did a poor job of telling us when the men would be coming, which meant I had to stay home all morning waiting to hear from them because I had no idea when they would show up. As I said above, we love the granite we eventually received. However, California Granite isn't the distributor, so I can't really give them credit for the slabs we ended up with. Their job is to template, cut, and install the granite, and to interact with customers. They have done poorly in all of these areas. We would absolutely not work with them again. Instead, we recommend going directly to the distributor, Francini Marble and Granite.

Met with MaryAnn in the showroom & picked out the granite I wanted. She came 4 days later to measure my kitchen, was 20 minutes late of the scheduled time, but I was able to overlook that because we bonded over our little dogs. She said she'd email me an estimate within the next couple days. 4 days later I called, spoke to MaryAnn, inquiring about the estimate. She told me since someone else measured my kitchen, they still had the numbers but would "text him and try to get my measurements" and would email me the estimate right away. What?? You came and measured my kitchen. It has now been 5 days and guess what, nothing! Very disappointed. So, I went down the street to their competitor, picked out granite and had an estimate to me by that night. It's all about customer service & how you treat people.

Repeatedly emphasized, both in the showroom as well as in our home when the template was being made, that we did not want a seam in our simple bartop (less than 10 ft long). Showed up to install with 2 pieces, which I refused. They ruined the only piece of granite we liked. To top it off, when making the template, they requested to take our sink (which we had just purchased) to insure the size of the opening was correct. When the sink was returned, it was dented and scratched. It looked like they had tossed it across the shop floor.

I would highly discourage anyone considering using California granite. Hindsight there are a number of great alternative granite companies one should consider including: Granite Transformations, Cary Granite, Natural Granite Marble, Stone City Kitchen Granite and many others. On customer service California granite is extremely poor with communication, details and follow-up. On business process they're extremely poor with quotes, invoices and accounting. Make sure you have everything in writing and keep that documentation. Quality is fair to poor. While they're extremely efficient at getting in and out and getting the job done, it is at the expense of quality workmanship. Installation is shoddy, requiring follow up reinforcement and caulking. This underscores the importance of customers with experiences posting the reviews online for others to be forewarned.
