We did a $15,000 countertop installation using California Countertop in 2006-7. On the next project home we again used them but had to split the projects up. They did the kitchen countertop in 2014. They recently bid a backsplash (out of the same material they had initially steered me toward for the countertop). When I asked some detailed questions, they retracted their bid when I exposed some possible inconsistencies. They have no loyalty to their customer base. The original installation was fraught with mistakes and shortcuts. Corian by DuPont can be seamed with an epoxy which melts the material and hides the seam. They chose NOT to do this behind the range, simply using contractors silicon to “stick” a scrap in that place. Also another local shop in Lakeside came in over a grand cheaper for the same backsplash!

One of the Best Countertop Fabricators in San Diego. From the installers and workers. Mike and Wayne's. To even the Lady designers and assistance. They're show room has a lot of products to offer. Sometimes you can get overwhelmed when looking for the right countertops. They make the experience from beginning to end extremely simple. I send my clients to California Countetops when I can! They are affordable with excellent craftsman ship. They are located In La Mesa right of the 8 Freeway. They service all of San Diego and carry the popular countertop brands! From Consantinos to Cambria! Thank you for always taking care of me and my clients California Countertops! Keep up the great work!

I'm very happy with the quality of products and services. I had Calif Countertop due my 8 units in City Heights over a couple of years. They finished doing our house. There were a few minor issues (plumbing, backsplash) that they resolved. The counter is beautiful. VERY HAPPY. Good job...

I had a small bathroom vanity that needed granite. I had a hard time finding someone who could help me but California Countertop had a remnant in the stone I wanted. They held it for me until I was ready for a measurement; measured on a Friday and installed it the next Tuesday and it looks beautiful! I will definitely use them for my next larger project.

A great experience from beginning to end for installation of our Dekton countertops from California Countertops. Jill and Karley at the showroom were great to work with - I must have called them a dozen times with questions and updates. Templating and measurements were done with careful precision. Demo of our old countertop and installation of the new Dekton was done very professionally. In particular, California Countertop was very helpful with a late onsite modification to the counter to accommodate an appliance fit and came back to to take care of a repair due to damage an appliance installer had caused. Finished product looks awesome. Highly recommend!

California Countertops did a great job on our bathroom quartz countertops. Jill was super helpful and walked me through every step, showed me samples so I could make choices and was there for all my questions. Best of all, they were organized and came as planned. Mike, who measured, and Steve and Vladimir who installed were professional and really nice. I give them all a 5 and highly recommend them.

I recently had a bathroom countertop/sink replaced. My sales consultant, Jill, was friendly, patient, and informative on design & materials -- she worked with my specific requests to get the product "just right", and it turned out beautifully. I'll use her and the company again this year for my master bath, and would highly recommend giving her a call to set up a consultation.

I had these guys do my kitchen many years ago (that it's no longer in their computer files (good thing I've got receipts) But that's the best part as I didn't even need them. Back up a few minutes to when I first arrived and was greeted with a smile and an honest "how may I help you"? I explained what I was there for and she introduced me to their shop lead tech "Jim" which was my name, wow. Explained I was looking for information on the silicon used they used between the counters and back splash as I knew it wasn't just any old product I could pick up a HD, Lowe's or Dixieline. Jim goes back in the shop and brings a tube out and of course i was right - special for sure and he said "here, it's yours l". Now that's exceptional customer service and i insisted on paying for it and even though it's more than "other brands" I didn't care. I paid for it and was happy to do so. I then asked if he had a couple of small pieces of just white Corian material (the cut offs, waste sections from sink cut outs and told him what I was going to do with it, he goes back in the shop with a piece exactly the size I was looking for and said "here you go" Somehow after leaving I got to thinking , that wasn't just laying around scrape - he probably just went back in the shop and cut a piece for me. I'm impressed and their showroom is so out of this world that I'm glad my wife wasn't with me - she'd probably think it's time to remodel the kitchen again!

We used California Countertops to replace our kitchen and bathroom counter tops with quartz. Michelle and their other employees were both friendly and helpful. Their installers did a great job installing the counter tops. Unfortunately, the plumber that they sent to install the new sinks did not do a good job, but California Countertops honored their work and covered the cost of repair work for the sinks. All in all, we were happy with the work and highly recommend California Countertops.

I recently embarked on a small kitchen remodel and selected California Countertop to assist me. Michelle was very patient and a great help in the design/material selection phase of the project. The materials arrived on schedule and the job started right on time. John and Junior removed the old tile countertops, sink/faucet and disposal and installed the new granite top, sink/faucet and disposal all in a day. (And were very neat in the process.) To my pleasure and surprise, Barry, the plumber came at 6pm to hook up the sink/faucet/disposal, completing that phase of the project (and making the kitchen again functional) a mere 12 HRs after the project started. A day later, Steve, the tile installer, started laying out the backsplash. Two days of careful cutting and adhering were followed by a third day grouting the glass tile. Then voila, it was done! And, I couldn't be happier with the results. The work was excellent. The care exhibited to protect my house and to clean up after each day was great. And, the end product looks terrific! All in a week.

I went to California Countertop looking for a manufactured quartz countertop for a backyard kitchen area. They have a great showroom and carry all lines. My job was small, so the designer recommended that I go to their nearby fabrication facility to look for remnants. I found a gorgeous piece of natural granite that was perfect for my job. They came out and confirmed the measurement and less than two weeks later the countertop was installed. Everybody I worked with at this company - the designer, slab yard guys, measurer, and installers - was fabulous, and the job is great. I highly recommend California Countertop and would use them again.

I had my cabinets measured Jan 2, and was told manufacturing of the Quartz countertop should take around 10 days. 10 days later they were ready to install, and we scheduled the installation for Jan 19. This took most of the day to complete, including plumbing work, but it was a very smooth process. After installation, I noticed that the countertop did not line up perfectly at the left and right side of the range. To the left, the overhang from the countertop was 1.25", and to the right it was 1.5". I gave California Countertop a call, and they agreed to come out and look at the issue. We had a long discussion, and we did agree that there's a slight difference between the measurements and the actual countertop width, but that this does not fully explain the difference in alignment. It was also apparent that the countertop could not be perfectly square because the cabinets themselves were slightly skewed. Nevertheless, the guy was very professional and completely focused on the end result rather than trying to find who to blame. He did offer to replace one of the countertop pieces to equalize the overhangs, which would be somewhat risky for the company, but also suggested a few ways to hide the differences. In the end I chose to not rework the countertop piece, but just do the minor cabinet adjustments he suggested. In summary, I had a very pleasant experience working with California Countertop, and would strongly recommend them.

I had my Corian kitchen countertops refinished after 25 years. There were minor scratches and a burn mark from a pot. From Sylvia who did the cost estimate, to Hugo who refinished the counters, to Robin in the accounting department--everyone at California Countertop was outstanding. Hugo did a fabulous job of removing the burn mark and a small chip on the edge of the counter. He cleaned up the whole kitchen afterwards and my countertops look brand new! I had the bath tub in my master bath removed, then went to California Countertops to select solid-surface material for the new walk-in shower walls and pan (floor), and the double-sink vanity. I also had them replace the shower walls in my second bath, which still had the tub. Christine was extremely helpful and patient with me as I tried to decide on what to select. Her recommendation of a Corian pattern was exactly what I wanted. The installation was perfect. I was totally amazed with the excellence of the workmanship. The second bath had a window in the shower area and the material went inside the window frame with absolute precision. I love my new bathrooms!

I was referred to this company by a friend who happens to be a remodeling contractor. He said that if you want quality fabrication and work to go to these guys. We went, and were so happy we had. Every step of the way was very helpful and professional. Not only were the counters exactly what we had hoped for, but the workmen showed up exactly as scheduled, they were spotlessly professional, and they cleaned up the entire area after demolition and installation. We are thoroughly satisfied with the work we received. Dan and Wayne, Thank you!

I recently hired California Countertop for a relatively small job. I needed some repair work on my Corian countertop and a small piece of stone for a custom-made cabinet we had built for our kitchen/dining room area. These guys were phenomenal. Treated me as though i were spending thousands of dollars. I picked out a remnant piece of stone on a Wednesday at 4pm. They were installing it at 2pm the next day! Their customer service was outstanding. and the workmanship flawless. The installers even came back the following morning because I had forgotten to ask them to drill a hole in the quartz to run AC cords. Can't say enough good things about this company.

We recently purchased a large amount of quartz countertop for a kitchen remodel from California Countertops. We were gun shy to get started following a bad experience with a contractor on our project. CA Countertops helped us look thru samples in the shop and allowed us to go over to the slab yard and look at the larger slabs. They pulled another option for us as well. Turns out we loved the other slab they had pulled rather than what we had picked and it was slightly less expensive. They were beyond patient with us, performed a very professional digital measurement of our kitchen and had the countertop perfectly installed within two weeks. The process couldn't have been more smooth and the final product is flawless.

Warning! Don't get your countertops here! You'll end up wanting to spend all day in your kitchen just drooling over the amazing results, nothing on your to-do list will get done. I recently had mine updated, and I have just 4 words...."bee-you-tee-ful"!! Brand new model homes have nuthin' on my gorgeous updated kitchen thanks to Calif. Countertops! Word has gotton around my condo enclave about the transformation, and after so many visitors, I am honestly thinking about charging neighbors to gawk (and weep) at my stunning quartz counters! The entire process took only 3 days from start to finish. They measured not once, but twice for absolute accuracy, and helped me choose a color that complimented my decor. The crew cleaned up after themselves, and made the seam between the pieces virtually disappear. My counters look like one continuous work of art from one end to the other. I loved the process and company experience so much so, that I decided to have my restroom countertop replaced from the same piece of quartz. 500% satisfied with my purchase.

My wife and I could not be happier with this company. We had all our Corian counter tops refinished and a conversion from a Garden window to a standard window left a gap that was fixed at the same time. The price was more than fair, especially after we saw how much work it was to complete this task. Todd was amazing and went above and beyond just refinishing to make us happy. Every time he found a little flaw or chip or saw some of the caulking missing or worn he would fix it. The repair on the window gap was exactly what we wanted and melded in seemlessly with the rest of the counter. If you have any kind of counter top problem or are looking for new, these are the guys to call.

I don't understand the negative comments about customer service. We went into the store twice and were helped by different people exactly as I expected to be served. Yes the decision is difficult, as they have just about every kind of countertop you can imagine, and some you've never heard of. And yes the store is a bit difficult to find at first, but not impossible. And yes the pricing may be a little higher than some others, but this company ONLY does countertops, and they do it with precision. I came in with a sketch of my kitchen design, and was able to get quotes on different materials and colors immediately. When their expert came out to measure, he used the latest is laser technology to make sure everything fit perfectly. It even measures bumps and dents in the wall so they can cut the countertop accordingly. Installation was fast, friendly, and very professional. And yes there were small cut-outs made at the factory which matched certain quirks in my kitchen. The installers answered every question I had and offered several good tips on cleaning and maintenance.

From: Randy Fromm EL Cajon, CA June 21, 2014 I am pleased to recommend California Countertops. They have just completed installation of new, Quartz countertops in our kitchen. The entire process, from start to finish, went without a hitch (despite the fact that we goofed up and initially ordered and took delivery of a sink that was too large). Our first contact was Sylvia, who unhurriedly took the time to review all of our options and help us make decisions. Thanks, Sylvia. They had displays of the myriad types of countertops that were available and samples of all the colors and designs that we could take home to see how it might look. They eventually took a deposit from us (again, no rush) and sent Mike out to measure our kitchen. It was Mike who informed us that the sink was too large. He returned a second time (once we had selected our replacement sink) and re-measured everything, just to be certain everything would fit properly. Thanks, Mike. And it did! When it came time for the installation, Joe and Jarrod arrived promptly at the appointed time and went right to work. They were extremely efficient and very competent. Everything fit perfectly. The sink fit perfectly (with just an inch or two to spare). The countertop seams matched up perfectly. They're practically invisible. The countertop is completely level. Just for fun, I poured a cup of water on the surface. It just sat there in a puddle, barely spreading out, held together by surface tension. When we needed the last-minute addition of a backsplash, they ran back to the shop and returned within hours with the custom-made pieces needed to complete the job. Job site cleanup was perfect as well. Not a speck of construction debris was left behind, inside or outside. Great work, guys! Thanks. I am completely satisfied with California Countertops as a company and, especially, the competent folks that did such a great job on our behalf. Randy Fromm

California Countertops! these guys are precision with a capital "P". I have a U shaped kitchen and have installed IKEA cabinets. I opted for the "organic white quartz" counter top. It started with a scale drawing and then Mike came over and did an accurate measurment of my counter tops. He said that we would have our counter top in 8 days, and they came here in 7. Two gentlemen, Joe and Jerrod installed the counter top in two hours. That was amazing and the two seams are so precise that they are barely noticable. These guy are truly professional and I would recomend this company to anyone wanting a first class job that they can be proud of

California Countertops did an excellent job on my kitchen counters. From start to installation everything was handled professionally. Robin in the showroom was friendly and very helpful. The removal of my countertops took place just two days after I made a decision about the counters (it was hard to decide because they carry so many styles). The installation took place in under two weeks, and I couldn't be happier with the result. I visited Home Depot, Lowes, Ikea (extremely unfriendly) and a company called Integrity who came and measured and then disappeared. I made the right decision in choosing California Countertops.

As a first time buyer I was not sure about the process of all the measuring and how the cabinets had to be prepared for the granite, but this company made it so easy. When measuring guy came by he explained everything, apparently my stove opening was too big so he measured how it supposed to be and advised how to fix the problem. Friendly staff and great selection of materials. We went with a quartz piece for a bathroom vanity and are very happy with fabrication-- beautifully polished and clean edges. CC was able to meet our tight scheduling needing a quick turnaround time. Just be sure to double check your required dimensions/measurements before ordering to avoid issues: Remember templates that come with your sink don't always match exactly and it's probably better to go with a smaller than bigger hole cutout. Also, if you're doing a three-hole lavatory faucet-- note if you want widespread or not.

We had them install a Quartz countertop for us. They were fantastic. We asked them to do their best to get things done very fast before our inlaws came into town, and amazingly they made it happen. They were very responsive to our needs. The installation itself was done with excellent quality. There were some issues along the way with one of the pieces being cut wrong and we were terrified, but they were very professional and had a new one to us the next day (which was a Sat). When things go smoothly with contractors, its great, but it is when things go wrong that you can see what kind of company they really are. Because there were a couple of issues along the way in our case, it allowed us to see the companies true colors, and they are clearly a very honest and professional company. I highly recommend putting your trust in a company like theirs!

Did an excellent job installing a new kitchen countertop. The project manager had such great skill and attention to detail, customizing the entire area beyond our expectations. His vast knowledge, experience and expertise enabled him to coordinate the other fixtures in such a way that the whole kitchen top--including stovetop, sink and garden window, and flash were all made of one piece! 4 stars because of communication. They did a great Jon with the project, but they have to work on calling back and giving updates.

The other day I noticed that my stainless steel sink had about a 1 centimeter gap from the granite. This is a kitchen that is about 5 years old and really should not be happening. (for the geeks or people who need more information, It was a double basin sink and was not supported at all in the center and the sink started 'sinking' leaving a gap in the granite- the silicone was useless) So I called handymen, plumbers, granite people...Many people were clueless on how to properly fix the problem ; one handyman declined the work because he had tried before and failed. I apparently needed to call a countertop fabricator and one recommended was California Countertop. The first time I called ,a guy answered and said that they would charge 150 to come out and look at the sink and they would fix it right then and there and they could come that afternoon... but he thought that it was an easy fix, that a handy man should be able to do the job. I needed to think about it more so I didn't agree to it at the time. I got a couple of other quotes from people willing to do the job and they were willing to do it for 150 as well, but they seemed to be band-aid fixes and had never seen such a problem with a sink before... So I thought if I was going to spend 150$ I might as will do it right. I called today at 11:30 and the lady that answered the phone asked a lot of questions, trying to understand what I needed, then I left a message to an employee there. An hour and a half later I get a phone call saying that someone could come out but it would be $150. I was prepared for that so I agreed. They came 30 minutes later, saw my sink, was familiar with the problem, went back to their truck to get supplies and began work immediately. An hour later the job was completed! It was so quick and easy and I feel really confident that this was fixed appropriately and that it wont happen again. So If anyone else has a similar problem as I did, look here! They will do good work and quick! I want to add that the 2 handymen that were willing to try and fix it, each had a different method to correct the problem than what was done with California countertop. While I am sure there would be more than one way to fix this, I think CC posed the least number of potential problems in the future.

This is the contractor that works with Costco for the San Diego area. If you go through Costco, you get better 10% pricing (in the form of a Costco card) and don't have to buy a full slab as a minimum. The downside is that you are limited in the colors and types of top that are contracted through Costco. We came in to the showroom and spent some time there. They even gave us multiple estimates for different grades of silestone and caesarstone tops. Once we mentioned Costco, they were less enthusiastic and after we left the guy who quoted us in the showroom ghosted and stopped responding to emails. I tried following up twice with no response. I could have followed up with Costco but after seeing how disorganized they were, we kinda decided to go in another direction.

Install was horrible IMO. I have had Corian installation before, and this was sub-par. So many details to point out, so my short review, is find others if it is Corian you are looking to install, as my review is just based on that. I kept getting from the field installer, "I've been doing this for 18 years..." which is red flag. as he was sloppy and quite frankly did shoddy work. So perhaps he is tired of doing what he is doing, or he never perfected his craft. My last Corian Counter, for my same house, same basic footprint of kitchen was so amazing, but the installer retired so not an option. I had to replace the counter due to new cabinet replacement the footprint size grew in each direction by 1/2" to 1" on the sides. I just wished I had done more interviewing for counter install vendors. Since I could not re-use my prior counter top, which was in great condition. More details: I provided all the sub-top support materials, as I was planning to re-use my prior counter, and was working with a "restoration" vendor". I had various lumber milled, at my cost, available on site. And despite having all this lumber of resources, the installer used a stack of lathe for shims in the two most critical support sections. Seriously 1" high, (he claims he needed 7/16"). I discovered this after install in my clean up after the install. And was like - what is this potato chip pile of support. Sorry unacceptable. Other install details, they were sloppy in cutting the lumber supports, using a jigsaw freehand holding over my lovely new cabinets. Not just More clean up for me, there was easy access to an outside area, less than 50' you could walk out front to stage as your cut zone. They chose to cut lumber support pieces, holding the lumber strip in one hand, and jigsaw in other. NOT very OSHA, let alone, consideration for the homeowner's home, who just installed NEW cabinets, and new flooring. I cringed for safety, as they were not wearing protective eyewear either. A reason why I use licensed people - to hope that they have worker's comp. I did not address this, but really should have asked that they cut lumber outside, albeit, 15/16" strips. My overall install review is, I tried to address the issue with the shoddy shim build up - and they really weren't going to remedy, so I had them add an addendum to the install warranty - Cause I know Corian can withstand the wear and tear, if installed right - but this install sucked. IMO. I still question the long term, hence why I asked them for a written install warranty. So find someone else. I probably know more now doing my same kitchen over in 12 years. Some people never have to remodel twice. But back when I first had it installed, I did not have an issue with the finish or the glue up. In response to their review the shim build up, I was told would cause more damage to my cabinets to fix. I also had them clean up their use of "Silicone and Caulking" which I learned they use caulking at the drywall edge for backsplash...I am not sure what brand or what they used for "Silicone, but their install was the slopiest of edging ever.... My prior counter top the seaming of the backsplash to the counter was practically invisible! Despite my asking for clean up on this follow up visit. It was as best I can expect from this team and this vendor. If this is their only install team, look elsewhere. Want more? Well I brought my sink and the template to the shop, as I had a change in sink from when they measured. Red Flag 2. Not only did the sink get "bashed around" at shop; day of install, while they may have done the cut out out, they were looking for the template, that I gave them, the factory template, that they said at the shop at time of drop off saying they download the file for the CNC machine...fair enough...but I not only gave them the sink to ensure proper install, they stated they would install the sink at the shop. Which they did not. Well let's just say, I am glad it was a 16 gauge sink to withstand the underside abuse. The damage was preventable. While some may argue it did not affect the sink function, it is a disappointment, as it was a NEW sink. It if is going to get dinged up - let me be the one who does that. The under side looks like a bad Amazon package delivery; the soundproofing sections are torn and mangled. The inner sink vessel also had scratches - that I hope after a year will be less noticeable and blend with natural Stainless Steel swirls. If I may sound picky, then hire away. But my review is based on that I hired people to do this install, and this was not a DIY, or cheap flip, This review is if you are paying full retail and premium $$ for service install...do your homework. If you don't care - then hire these guys. Not happy, obviously. My kitchen took over 5 months. The countertop from date of order to install a month, And everything was researched except the final vendor....so that's on me.

2/11/2021 Called two days in advance and asked salesman Mike to have a specific silestone "Serena" sample available for me to pickup in two days. Told him I had bought silestone and a sink from them previously. He was cordial and positive. On the day Mike was supposed to have the sample left with the receptionist, Tiffany, he forgot to get the sample; went out to his car to look in the trunk and he did not have the sample. I told him that was a waste of my time and left; he did not apologize or say anything. Really poor service. Later in the day, I filled out the Costco customer contact form for Cosentino countertops. 2/12 Tiffany called me this morning and left a voicemail sayings they are the local costco supplier; on the voicemail she said they could get me a cheaper price and didn't need to go through costco. So, I called Tiffany back, explained that Mike did not have the sample and I want a different salesperson; she said she saw the sample in Mike's hand and disagreed with me. I told her she was questioning my explanation; she said I was being extremely rude and said "We don't need your business" and hung up on me. In 2014 I bought 38 sq ft. of "Seleno" cosentino silestone and a double Meier 400b SS026 double bowl stainless steel sink from California Countertops for a total of $1,900 which included installation; the salesperson, Jim Webb, was outstanding; the installation crew were outstanding. Looks like things have changed at California Countertops since then. Also, since then, La Mesa has passed a sales tax increase and if you buy anything in La Mesa you pay 8.5% sales tax; the city of San Diego sales tax is 7.75%. It's a small sales tax increase, but why pay the extra tax for no added product.

We just completed our new kitchen and while all other aspects of the remodel was enjoyable, our experience with California Countertops was less than stellar. There seems to be a disconnect between their sales team and the field team who actually install the product. The scheduling process of removing the existing countertops with the arrival & installation of the new countertops was not handled properly which meant my family was without a working kitchen for over two weeks. Finally when "installation day" arrived, the field team (installers) had not been given the correct details necessary for the job and had to take matters into their own hands. It meant more work for them. Still, kudos to the field team as their work was well executed and the kitchen looks fantastic. Overall, we are happy with the end result but the service aspect was challenging.

I also had a lousy experience at this store. After wandering around the dusty and dirty showroom for a while (with no one offering to help us) I finally went and got someone from the back. I was trying to understand the pricing for the exact same color solid surface material between the different brands, since they seem to carry absolutely everything on the market. Price obviously is important to most consumers. I had estimated dimensions. The guy just says "well just tell me what brand you want and I will put it in the computer." He seemed to completely ignore my question on price--can't spend 5 minutes to figure out which of the brands will be the best value for me? The quote he printed was incredibly difficult to comprehend and contained no useful detail that could be compared to anyone else's bid. Anyway--not surprisingly--I spent my $6,000 with a different countertop fabricator. Good luck with your bizarre brass tacks style.

I visited California countertops on Friday, January 31 and met with Christina. Christina emailed me her quote on Saturday. I responded on Monday to ask if there was any way we could discuss the quote as my husband and I are retired and were working with a budget. Not only did she NOT respond to my email even to say no change in quote possible she didn't even have the courtesy to respond at all. Even if we could find the entire amount I would not deal with this company due to their lack of response.

We were interested in Corian and Quartz for our kitchen countertop. After making some choices in the showroom with Christine, she said she would email us the two quotes by lunch the next day. By 3pm, I popped in and she hadn't even started the quotes and asked me which one I was leaning towards. I said we liked both, so it might come down to price. She said corian would probably by cheaper, but she would get me the quotes in about an hour. At the end of the day, we got an email quote for Quartz only and it was over $5,000. This is compared to 2 other quotes for quartz that we got for about $3,500 from Lowes and Best Granite in Chula vista. We never did get the Corian quote from Christine, and we ended up going with Best Granite. She continually told us how busy they were, so I believe she was pricing us out.

Great selection of materials, but one of the Customer Service personnel was unable unable to answer my questions in regards to the pricing of the various stones and told me maybe I should go elsewhere. Also they dropped the ball when it came time to cut the piece. Left waiting for days only to find out they did not even have the material. If I had not called they would have not even know. Would I use them again? Probably not.
