Black Marble and Granite did a wonderful job with the installation of our granite in our kitchen and two bathrooms. He also designed the granite surround and hearth for our fireplace, which looks amazing. In addition, he installed our kitchen back splash. Steve was so accommodating with my schedule mishaps (my fault and mistakes) and was so very laid back when we had to reschedule. Nothing phased him and he was always so very professional about it all.
We loved that he also took the time to explain things to us and to answer questions that we had (and we had many). He shared his expertise and guidance with us on DIY projects we're contemplating.
It was truly a pleasure to watch Steve and his son, Will, work together. The attention to detail was great and the finished product shows the pride they take in their work. Their work space was always organized and they always cleaned up at the end of the day...you almost didn't know they were there! On top of all that, Steve and Will are two of nicest people you'll ever meet.

Steve was great to work with and very reasonable. He did a beautiful job on my granite counter tops and the mosaic tile on the back splash. I refer Steve to anyone redoing their kitchen or bath and I will use him again.

Steve and his son did a great job installing several counter tops that were fabricated out of raw quartz slabs (by his fabricator partner, who I did not meet personally). His quote was not the lowest nor the highest...I thought it was reasonable for the project scope and he responded promptly and professionally to my questions via text and phone calls. There was a large L shaped area that had stove-top cut, a complex corner sink area, a desk area, and a waterfall on each end. There was also a 10 ft island top that had a 4 ft overhang for a seating area. During fabrication of the tricky corner sink area (not by Steve), one of the slabs developed a small crack. Another installer may have tried to cover it up but Steve was honest with me and promptly went back to the supplier to pick up a matching slab (at their own cost). Unfortunately this delayed our install a little, but I appreciated his integrity. They did a pretty good job of lining up the patterns where they could and the mitered edges look great! (Way better than those prefabbed profile edges that have the line across the middle!) My husband and I constructed the island support ourselves and we made some mistakes, but Steve was able to work with what we had and helped us get it all together. Working with white quartz is difficult and there is no way to get everything perfect, but I'm very happy with the end result...The counters are really stunning! Besides the workmanship and integrity, I would recommend Steve because he is a really personable guy (and his son is awesome too) and they were fun to work with. I am also very grateful that Steve and his son were on site when my husband incurred a table saw injury and they acted very quickly and calmly to help me get his hand stabilized and called 911. I couldn't have managed the situation very well without them and I felt comfortable leaving them alone in our house when I needed to go to the hospital. I highly recommend Black Marble and Granite...great work and great people!

Steve and his son Will were a great resource for our small but complicated countertop installation. Excellent communication, competitive pricing and flawless execution, left my wife and I the confidence not to have to worry about "Honey, do you think this is going to turn out as we had hoped". We've had plenty of "those" anxious moments along this 3 month remodel journey, but not with Steve & Black Marble Granite. I suppose the better testament is the fact that we've already re-hired Steve and Will for another countertop project that originally wasn't even planned during this remodel.

Steve and Will completed installation of the most beautiful counter tops in my kitchen. The moment I spoke to Steve I had a great sense of comfort during that first conversation and during the process. Steve & Will has been very professional, responsive and quite fair with the costs of the project. His costs are not low nor high, very reasonable if you are looking for great quality work. I cannot say more about how pleased I am with my decision to reach out to Black Marble and Granite. They are the perfect duo for the job!!!

Steve and William (Will) were great people to get help from, for our kitchen countertop job. After getting quotations from like 30+ contractors and suppliers in six months time, we decided to go with Black Marble & Granite (Steve). The reason being Steve's attitude, dealing, professionalism, commitment and of course rates that he quoted. My wife and I actually were to buy the quartz from one of the suppliers but then Steve suggested us a place to visit from where we ended up buying a better material for a reasonable price.
Steve and his son, Will, are surely professionals. They gave us great suggestions when we asked from them. Steve was always truthful and fair. Steve is the guy trying his best for perfection. The communication on text msgs with Steve was great.
Black Marble & Granite will always be my first recommendation for anyone with a Kitchen countertop job.
Keep that smile Steve, you look good!

We are so happy that we found Black Stone & Marble! After starting on a bumpy road with our first prospective contractor, Steve was a breath of fresh air and completed the work with efficiency, care, and quality. One of the things we value most when looking for services is communication and Steve was amazing in helping us understand the process, giving us options and advice, and ensuring that the job was completed perfectly. Steve and his son, William, took the time to do the work right, not just fast. We would happily work with them again and refer them to anyone looking for counter top installation! Thanks Steve and William!

Steve was recommended by my brother who hired him for his kitchen remodel. He did not disappoint me. He remodeled my 2003 kitchen which had tiled countertops and backsplash. He and his son installed granite countertops, glass tile backsplash, extended the kitchen island (installed 1/2 inch thick metal plates to make it supper strong) and new undermount sink. He did all the detailing and even checked the power outlets and fixed the faulty one.
His rate was very competitive, and quality of work was excellent. He was very professional throughout the project and did not show emotions during couple of delays which were due to some vendor mistakes. Both Steve and William were easy to talk and understand and trustworthy. I would highly recommend him for any project.

Steve is great at granite/marble! Cuts were perfect! Timeliness, and professional! Very fair pricing! He did what our co tractor was unwilling to do! He made a transition piece from wood flooring to tile, and it was smooth and level, so no transition piece to trip on! Love his work! (Also did all pieces for the new bathroom)!

My lucky stars were aligned when I found Steve and his amazing little company. I was doing a kitchen remodel in Bay Area, although I live in Sacramento. This presented some logistical issues but Steve took the time to make it happen, efficiently, quickly, and most important of all, beautifully. He was very cheerful with some of my dumb questions, giving me honest advice, which I needed! Look no further.

Steve was awesome! I was in a pinch and he took care of me. Initial call (on Sunday evening) to final installation was 48 hours which included finding me the same granite that I already purchased at a lower price. Plus my walls are extremely uneven and wonky which Steve and his son worked their magic to ensure the granite to fit perfectly. Highly recommend Black Marble! Would definitely reach out for future counterto

This was a painless operation. Steve Black introduced me to available materials. He measured my counters azillion times & made templates. Most of the basic cutting & finishing was done off site; sink, corners etc
He arrived Saturday at 7:30, tore out 40 year old tile & grout. His tarps & vacuuming keep most debris under control. Installation of sink, counters, splash & window sill were painless (for me). Installation was complete by 5:00pm. Great transformation. I'm thrilled

I have used Black Marble and Granite a total of 4 times since 2006 and if I could give him a 10/5 I would!
He installed granite kitchen counters and back splash for my mom's house. We had a small window to coordinate that install with the rest of the remodel schedule and Steve came through for us! I was so impressed with him and the result, I asked him to do two more projects for me. One of those projects, he put granite down on a pass through in the kitchen to create a breakfast/bar sitting area that I love.
The most recent project (March 2018) involved installing counters and an island in a large kitchen that had white square 5 inch tile was outdated! When I was having difficulty finding and deciding on the material, he took time out of his day to drive to Sacramento to help me pick out the counter top. I am beyond thrilled with the result and I feel I have a new kitchen!
Steve has over 30 years experience working on residential and larger commercial projects. He is conscientious, honest, skilled and a true professional that I will call upon again and again.

I first spoke to Steve, the owner, in early August and arranged for my countertop to be fabricated and installed by September 15th, as I was moving into the home on September 17th. Leading up to the 15th of Sep Steve's communication was spotty at best. He would respond initially but when I tried to confirm our install date he would stop responding. The 15th came and went and I was given several other install dates that also came and went with very little clear communication from Steve. He did explain that his saws were working at 1/2 capacity, which I understood. But his communication never seemed direct and honest to when my project might be completed. Eventually another person was brought into the transaction and my project seemed to be handed off to another business without any conversation or clarification. The other business man was equally flakey with regard to communication and commitment to time. My countertop was finally installed on November 5th, nearly 7 weeks after my original install date. Remember I moved into the house on September 17th, so I was also without a working kitchen sink or dishwasher, as this was my island countertop where my plumbing is. With regard to the quality of work, it looks like any other countertop, so I guess they were sufficient. However the faucet hole was cut and the plywood base was not cut far enough back to properly install the faucet. I promptly contacted whomever the other business man was and never received a response about them coming to fix it. He did eventually reach out for payment but never addressed the incomplete work. I had to have my plumber cut the plywood to allow the faucet to be installed. Long story long, Steve's prices were most competitive, his craftsmanship was sufficient, however his lack of clear and honest communication will prevent me from ever using his services or recommending him to anyone in the future.

Yes, like most professional contractors in the market, Black Marble and Granite performs cutouts and countertop preparation for various components — both standard and modern. According to our findings, these services are typically included in the overall project estimate. The standard scope usually covers cutouts for sinks (undermount, drop-in, or farmhouse) and holes for faucets or other plumbing fixtures. Additional cutouts — such as for cooktops, hidden or pop-up outlets, built-in wireless chargers, or other accessories — are discussed individually at the project planning and estimating stage.
It’s important to note that while the cutouts and countertop preparation are usually performed by the company, the installation of electrical and plumbing fixtures (such as faucets, outlets, or appliances) may not be included in their scope of work and could require licensed professionals. We recommend clarifying this point when placing your order.
To avoid misunderstandings, ask for a detailed estimate with a breakdown of all services: cutout pricing, installation, and any add-on options. This will ensure project transparency and help you clearly understand what you're paying for.
What guarantees does Black Marble and Granite provide for its work?
According to our information and industry practice, Black Marble and Granite, like most participants in the ranking, provides a workmanship warranty valid for 1 year from the date of countertop installation. This period is usually specified in the contract. We do not rule out that the company may have extended warranty terms (2 years or more), however, during our research, we did not receive confirmed data from the contractor regarding the duration and scope of its warranty.
The contractor’s warranty covers defects in fabrication and installation, such as uneven or separating seams, leveling and fastening issues, detachment or sagging of an undermount sink, flaws in edge finishing and cutouts, premature failure of seam materials, and cutouts that do not match the approved design. Warranty coverage does not include damage from use (thermal shock/burn marks from hot cookware, chips or cracks caused by impacts), stains and acid etching (for marble), wear due to insufficient maintenance or lack of sealing, natural characteristics of stone (veins, micro-pores, variations in shade/pattern within tolerances), shifts caused by base deformation, or any modifications performed by third parties.
The material warranty is provided by the manufacturer or the official stone supplier. Engineered quartz brands often offer a limited “lifetime” warranty for residential properties (subject to registration and compliance with care guidelines). For sintered surfaces, typical warranty periods range from 10 to 25 years. Natural stone usually does not come with a factory warranty — its quality of fabrication and installation is covered by the contractor’s warranty. The term and scope of the warranty depend on the project and materials — contact Black Marble and Granite in any convenient way on this page to get the current terms.
