The person who estimated our rather simple job made a pretty big error, but, I must say, the owners came through and made things right. The installers were awesome - polite, professional, and experienced. The finished product looks great! Just a side note: when you compare qoutes, note that Alaska Countertops doesn't do any plumbing. This came as a surprise to us (as it wasn't mentioned during estimation) and had an impact of which contractor we chose for the job (before learning about plumbing). My husband had to disconnect the old sink himself and we scrambled to find someone, on a very short notice, to reconnect the plumbing.

Great customer service from product selection to the final installation. Extremely pleased to work with such a helpful and knowledgeable designer. Countertops were very professionally and skillfully installed. Really enjoyed working with Alaska Countertops and would choose them again.

They messed up on the sink measurements. Email was sent to confirm the order but no attachment, just showed the price. We might have caught the mistake. First time ordering countertops so did not think anything of it. They asked why did we confirm the order after the email if the measurements where wrong. Tried to blame us. Realized it was their fault. When we went to pick up the new one they were very unpleasant to us. We were very light-hearted to them and realize that mistakes do happen. Undeserved attitude. Replacement was made quickly but that's expected when fixing a mistake.

Happy with our countertop , sink, and backsplash! turn around time was amazing they mentioned they were ahead and i had a new bathroom countertop in less than 2 weeks! Carl and Blake are good people! My only regret is not using them years ago! Not your cheapest stone place but you get what you paid for:) we love our cambria Warm Brittanica ! We plan to use them again if we replace the rest of the home. We are also using them to Complete our current side project !

Very professional staff and installation team. Superb turn around time and an excellent value for such high-quality products. On my last remodel project, they were the first contractor to complete their task, ahead of time. I will definitely be utilizing their services on my future projects.

I do not even know where to begin. The final result was good and as to be expected for the cost and time it took to complete our project. The entire experience was definitely NOT, as another customer posted earlier "a worry free experience". Far from it. There was AWFUL communication from the very beginning. 1st - We went in asking to ONLY be shown IN STOCK products as we were under a very tight deadline for our remodel; only to be told after we paid our deposit there was not enough product of the color we chose in stock. We would need to wait 6-8 weeks of shipping time (not to mention several weeks delay on actual install since they were backed up in their que) which significantly delayed our project. I could go on and on in detail about the lack of response to several of my calls or emails but to say that the lack of accountability this company REFUSED to take after we voiced our concerns is astounding! Does not surprise me now after reading other customers awful experiences and their responses on Google to those complaints. ZERO RESPONSIBILITY. Apparently as long as the final project turns out what you PAID for, that is what matters most. I was told in a response (after submitting a written complaint to the owner asking for ANY type of discount on final bill due to all of the delays, frustrations and lack of communication on their part) that it was pretty much MY FAULT and to be expected in this industry. I responded AGAIN in further detail ALL of my concerns and frustrations but assured them we would pay the invoice in FULL. Only to finally speak to the owner (out of town for 3 weeks) in which I was under the impression there would be some accountability taken and some type of offer to make it right. To my surprise; once again I was told excuses and it was re-iterated that his staff did everything right. But to TOP it off - he accused us of not paying our final bill in a timely manner! I could not believe what I was hearing. Project was finally completed 1/28/22. We received the final invoice on 2/1/22. Our accounting department mailed check out on 2/14/22 but apparently since we are in town they expected a payment quicker and he didn't understand why the account had not already been closed out before returning to town after being out on vacation for 3 weeks. Again we were NEVER told final payment would be due immediately. We will NEVER do business with this company ever again.

Carl and crew provide a wide variety of products and price points to fit any budget. Get a bit more personal touch at this locally owned business versus shopping the 'big box store'!

Amazing work stunningly beautiful! So thrilled with the final fabrication. My quartz countertop goes beautifully atop my vanity. The niche ledge and corner shelves are definitely not “standard. “ The craftsmanship in Alaska Countertops is evident. Was not expecting the artistry of the corner shelves. The color variation in my stone blends beautifully with my contractors tile work and flooring. So Appreciative for the input, patience, and friendliness of everyone. Looking forward to my next project! Thank you

after staging our counter splash. We decided took too thick to match the style of our trim in the kitchen, house. We put it in an atv, a plane, a pickup, and returned it to Ak countertops who graciously cut it in half on a busy day. I love these guys. Carl and his crew work hard. Not a lot of chit chat. If you mean business. They'll match your motivation.

We felt lost and overwhelmed when we decided we wanted to do some updating, but the minute we walked into Alaska Countertops they eased our minds and walked with us through the process and made it seamless! Loved our experienced with our designer and the owners. Everything from flooring to cabinets and everything in between! When we are ready to move on to other areas of our house, Alaska Countertops will be our first and only stop!

We ordered a cap for our bathtub and the folks there worked with my drawings, quickly did an estimate and completed the work in about three days. They really exceeded my expectations on the timeline and price. Now, I have to go apply caulk to their work, which looks great!

Everything started out well with the selection and ordering etc... When it came time to install my granite however it appeared as though the backsplash had been broken and then glued back together. There also appeared to be a crack directly in front of the kitchen sink as well as along the left side. I called to report this but was told by the owner that they are all fissures. I insisted and pushed back. She went out and then called me to say that the backsplash was not acceptable and she apologized and had the installers replace it.

I went to Alaska Countertops because I try to buy local when I can. What I initially thought would be a good experience turned ugly immediately following installation. The one pro, is that I am actually happy with the workmanship of the countertops, but the severe lack of communication by their staff (to me AND to each other) about installation procedures and communication about problems thereafter is NOT worth the headache. I tried several times to contact the owner but he was not there and the staff would not tell him I called so I could never get a call back in order to discuss my complaints directly with him. The staff just kept trying to placate me and even argued with me on several itemsthat were clearly their mistake. For example: 1.) The sales lady never explained to me that after the installers completely unhooked my sink and dishwasher, that it's not common practice to re-connect any of the plumbing. So when I came home after work at 5pm, I had to run to home depot (to buy 2 drains-which I wasn't told to anticipate buying before installation) and also the installers broke the tailpiece pipe going to the dish washer....so I had to go back to home depot to buy at 9pm. It wasn't expensive, but it would have been extremely helpful to know that 1. ) i need to buy drains before install 2.) hire a plumber for the day of install (i'm lucky my fiance knows how to do plumbing or else i would have been screwed). and 3) that the installers would have just fessed up and said they sheared off a pipe so I didn't have to run back to home depot. With all that said, I called them after the install to let them know they should be explaining these things to customers. The guy told me that the sales lady was new and didn't know. About 3 weeks later after the install, I called back because they never hauled away my sink which has been sitting in my driveway the whole time looking unsightly...and the lady answered. She said she had heard about my complaints and told me very rudely that it is known "industry wide" that they don't re-connect the plumbing. I told her that I am not "In the industry" SO I WOULDN'T" KNOW THAT. I was simply trying to help HER out by explaining my frustrations as a customer so it doesn't continue to happen to other customers. 2) The second issue is that no one ever asked me what was to be hauled away on the day of the install. I even left my number for the installers and specifically told them to PLEASE CALL ME if they have ANY questions. Nope, they never called, they just hauled away the one thing I wanted to keep (a wooden countertop) and left my old countertop and sink on the porch, which were the two things I didn't want to keep! So when I called the next day after the install, the lady told me I could pick up the wooden top at the store. After thinking about it, I felt that I shouldn't have to drive all the way across town to pick up something that she should have communicated about. So I called back and the guy answered. He said okay, just call him when I get the faucet off the sink and they would come pick everything up and bring back the wooden countertop. So I did call him and tell him that and it just sat there for 3 weeks. So I called back, the owner actually answered, and I started to tell him about everything (which he was completely unaware of)..and he said he wanted to look at my file and call me back. We have been playing phone tag and every time I call the staff say he's not there and I know he's not getting the messages because all they say, is "well I'll have this conversation with him" and the lady kept rudely interrupting me, and told me that she already "took the hit" for not communicating to me about what to haul away. So at this point, she tells me they threw away the wooden counter top and she doesn't know what resolution I want. I told her I was calling to have this conversation with the owner. And she says, "I will have this conversation with him". I better not hold my breathe for that one. SO PLEASE CONSIDER THIS BEFORE dealing with a company who does not COMMUNICATE with each other, or takes notes during phone calls or communicates with their customers what to expect during and after an install.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I should have realized when the worker called that morning and said he needed more light in the kitchen that this was not a good company. I asked him why he didn't have work lights - good grief - and told him I couldn't help him as the house was empty and there weren't any tools in the garage. The final product was awful...they left my home in a dust covered mess. The home was empty, on the market to sell and had been professionally cleaned. The entire downstairs - wood floors, kitchen cabinets, appliances, walls - were covered in dust from the sanding of the countertops. No clean up was done. Thank goodness my realtor stopped by the following day and discovered the mess, because an open house was scheduled. It took my realtor and contractor hours to get it all cleaned up. When I called to complain, the owner tried to claim that someone else must have come in after them and made the mess. Seriously? He then blamed me for having the house cleaned before they came in to do the counters, ridiculous defense for crappy service. What shape do they leave occupied homes in? I can't imagine having that dust all over furniture and drapes. In the end they knocked some money off of the bill, but that doesn't change my rating - there's no way I'd want them doing any work for me. Find a company with integrity and who takes pride in cleaning up after themselves.

First let me say I'm glad I DIDN'T get countertops here. I did, however, call them for a repair job. I was given an "estimate" and told if I wanted to proceed to call. I felt the estimate was reasonable so called. After two calls (with none being returned) I did receive a call from John (he said he was the owner). He said "there is no fix" contrary to what I was told and said the only fix was to replace. $1200.00 vs. $250.00 repair estimate I think not and then turned into a real a-hole on the phone. I do plan on getting other estimates but one thing is for certain. When I do need a replacement done, it will not be done by them and I will be telling everyone I can about this experience. Honor your estimates or don't have people giving estimates who shouldn't be and...get a grip on customer service!
