We had the kitchen in our condo completely redone, and a shower and a vanity/sink upgraded in our bathrooms. Working with Chris at A&P Custom Kitchens was great -- from planning the layout/design and the selection of tiles, cabinets, countertops. Chris and his team worked efficiently from demo to completion and we are delighted with the end result. We would definitely consider working with them again as needs arise in the future. They have worked on many, many kitchens and bathrooms in our condo towers and have very satisfied customers! We recommend them highly.

I had a great experience working with A&P after a leak in my kitchen. They offered several finishing options within my budget and put me in touch with other pros to select additional materials. Their knowledgeable staff also kept me in the loop every step of the way and helped me make some design decisions to maximize storage space. A++ would hire again.

Horrible customer service. I’ve been in the business for years and this is the first time I’ve ever felt disrespected. The front desk guy named Lu tells me explicitly to leave the store because he is “busy” with his work. Regardless of which individual walks in your store you should treat them with the utmost respect. Service should be your priority not yourself.

Steve and his crew at A&P made our new homes bathrooms better than they already were. They were incredibly responsive and paid great attention to detail. We made some special requests during the process all to which Steve graciously made sure happened. Would definitely recommend and use again in future homes.

I am horribly dissatisfied with the quality and customer service of A&P. It is impossible to get ahold of their staff on the phone. Multiple times they promised us service on a certain date and then didn't call or show. My husband took off of work more than once to be home when they came, and then they never did. There are large gaps and chips along the edges of the laminate counter tops they installed in our kitchen, which they refuse to fix, when we can manage to actually speak with someone over the phone. The service is absolutely unacceptable. I cannot explain how upset I am by the way they have treated us and the poor product they provided.

I wanted a high quality laminate for my kitchen counter tops and boy did I make the right decision when I chose A & P Custom Kitchens. The service was excellent as well as the finished product. I also purchased the sink and faucet from them with the same results. The prices were affordable and very reasonable ( I had searched the internet extensively and sought prices from other establishments). Thanks Steve, Tom and Mike (the best craftsman ever).

Trust me when I tell you; you WILL NOT find a more honest, transparent and kind group of people to work with. This is my second time using them and my friend’s second, Tom, Steve and their team are ACES! Professional, HONEST- seriously don’t make business owners like this anymore. Do not walk, RUN to here for your cabinet needs.

I’d rate AP Kitchens a B minus overall. They were familiar with my building's policies and collaborate well with the buiding team, but they seemed eager to move on and left a few things unfinished. In one instance, I had to rely on the building manager, who recommended them, to push them to complete the work.

A&P just completed our kitchen project January 2019 and did a wonderful job. They provided custom cabinets to fit a triangular corner that converted what once was wasted space into useable storage. The crew knows their craft and everyone was friendly and great to work with. We threw a couple of last minute curve balls at them and they collaborated with us to achieve what we wanted. Highly recommend them.

Great experience with A&P. The finished kitchen is exactly like I imagined. Sal and his guys were great. Super respectful and pleasant. Price was very fair for all they did...new cabinets, new countertop, new sink & faucet, new under sink piping, and dishwasher install. ONLY CON: they do not take credit cards. Luckily my project wasn't very large and had the cash available. But large kitchens may be an issue.

We used this company to renovate our master bath. Had a great experience with Chris and Joe. Bath turned out great. So great that we will now be doing the hall bath. Do yourself a favor if renovations are needed. Call Tom and enjoy the end result.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with A & P Custom Kitchens. In reading these other reviews there are some things that are just not true. They carry several brands of cabinetry in their showroom. Both Tom and Sal will attest that the Omega brand that they carry is their Cadillac model and they have those in the showroom. They are gorgeous but were not within my price range. We used Fabuwood Cabinetry and I am in love with my new kitchen. Sal, Dominic and Dennis were our contractors. They were courteous, prompt and extremely professional throughout the process. They offered suggestions as we progressed through the renovation which I was grateful for. I trusted them as Sal has been in the business for 29 years, so I felt like he knew what he was talking about. I felt their price was very fair. Tom told us what we needed to pick out and was easily reached for questions. My cabinets have no scratches, my under cabinet lighting is working fine. The granite people they use, Master Granite, had the granite measured and installed within 1 week, which is a very quick turn around time compared to others. We had an estimate for the same job through Lowes and they wanted double the price.

I really enjoyed my complete experience with A&P Custom Kitchens, as they have been fantastic to work with from beginning to end! I knew they were the ones that I wanted for my renovations, after being referred to by one of my condo neighbors who used them in the past. I'm quite surprised there aren't many reviews here for A&P, as I know a number of my area neighbors have been using them and are quite happy. Anyways.... Tom, the co-owner, has been super enjoyable to visit at their beautiful East Passyunk office. He listens to what's important to you, makes suggestions when appropriate, provides an organized roadmap of decisions, and gives you the flexibility and patience needed when figuring out what you want them to do. My work foreman Chris has been equally great throughout the actual renovation period. His work is done with care, he made it easy to communicate with me about what to expect and what my choices were for the smaller details, he took the initiative to suggest a couple furnishings that would better complete the vision I had for my place, and follows up with you to make sure that you are happy. I met the other co-owner, Sal, who seems like a great guy to work with also; I'm not sure if this could be called a 'family business' exactly, but they all work together like a great family and certainly are good, friendly people. I certainly did not have this experience with other contractors, even just with the proposal phase. A&P has been great to work with, and provides you quality products and workmanship, they put such care into their work, they provide that work at a reasonable price, and they really help you fulfill the vision you have for your home (or business). You should check them out!

Tom never returned a call. Makes promise and doesn't keep them. Took a long time to get started. Had to fight for counter top of my choice. Now that it's complete gave me hollow basement door that was off hinge in a month after 8 months I order. Solid door and paid for it to be installed. Never a return call from Tom The Kitchen cabinet doors are all not closing. And off centered. The installer said the doors are warped. And zTom should have no problem rep because they are under warranty. Spoke to Tom he was oblivious and said did the contractor order. The contractor is saying Tom has specs and should order. No one is responding to my calls. I don't know if ordered or not The customer service is horrible. I would not recommend them. I loved my kitchen but their follow up after job is completed is herendous and unbelievable and unprofessional

Piss poor customer service! BEWARE!! I ordered kitchen cabinets from this place as a 1st time homeowner I didn't know what to expect and they took full advantage of that. A printout to model my kitchen was never supplied. I went with an idea of where everything was located and he hand drew his version so of course there was going to be lots of mistakes. My receipt was not itemized for a total. Just 1 large sum so when we needed to exchange one cabinet for another and adjust filler sizes AFTER delivery it was a hassle. I was using the receipt to make sure I had gotten all of the right sizes and items and literally my receipt is NOT the order he sent. he made adjustments without updating me or my receipt...God forbid I need to use my warranty and I have no record of what was actually purchased. After finally getting all of the right sized cabinets and filler installed we realized he had given us the wrong sized spic rack insert it was way too big AND we hadn't been received our handles/hardware. He had given me the correct spice rack with no money back...if one was way bigger and cost more how could it be an even exchange? I had to literally drive almost an hour to the store to be told about my hardware because he would not take my calls or return them. And get this, 2 months later we still don't have our hardware he never told us they were on backorder, never updated us and if i did not drive over i would not know. Our hardware was $280 (we had a separate receipt for that because we had ordered it after we purchased the kitchen cabinets but on the same day). I called today to demand my money back for the hardware and apparently they came in but no one called, no one emailed, no one did anything yet again. This Tom guy shows no concern for his customers, I literally spent damn near $15,000 with this guy to be treated so poorly and rude. And even in this instance he did not take my call some women took a message and my number again...it's not like he is even going to call back so i'll have to waste 2-3 hrs of my time driving there to get answers yet again! He really seemed cool in the beginning but once he got paid we were discarded. NEVER AGAIN. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

If I could give zero stars I would. Very unreliable. I wasted two months going through the motions of planning with them, including 2 visits to their "showroom", which is just a small storefront in South Philly, and two visits to the tile store to nail down the specs, I was told that Chris would call and come out the following week to finalize measurements. No call, no show. I followed up after 10 days and was told again that he would be out the following week. No call, no show. I never heard from them again and was not about to pursue them at that point. At least two of my neighbors later told me they had similar experiences. If you have a simple, high $$ job with no unique requests ( I wanted a hard-wired cosmetic mirror and 30" vanities) you may luck out but you won't know until you've wasted valuable time. Check out the other negative reviews online.

I recently purchase a small "New Custom Kitchen Cabinets". I was very clear with Tom about the material I wanted as I saw in 1 of his floor kitchens. This was plywood. Also I ask for a swivel lazy suzan wood kidney shape for my lower corner cabinet. Also for my top cabinet I ask for glass door and glass shelves (they never came), I do also specify I needed the front and back of the doors to have the same finish (higly glossy) as I have seen before. (They are 2 diferent finishes). Then I show him the kind of shelves I wanted for my 3 drawer cabinet and I ask for the sponge holder in the sink cabinet (not there) and he seemed to be listening to my request. He said not to worry as he will be taking care off all my requests and also said MDF was way better then plywood. Finally 4 week later the truck came. When they bring the cabinetes inside I couldn't believed the way they came. It was cover by plastic, instead of being pack in boxes. I saw 2 huge man struggle a bit bringing down the pieces. And I ask what was happening they told me they were very heavy. Couple of days later I contact couple of ppl to come and give an estimate to install the cabinetes and I was in horror when 4 different guys with between 15 and 32 years experience in installing cabinets told me that this cabinets are really bad quality. They explain in detail that the material wasn't neither MDF or Plywood, but the cheapest particle board u can find, with a 8×4 sheet price between $13 and $18. Material that I completely detest, yes the one that has a huge chips of wood glued together. And will get bad in no time. They also told me that installing this type take more time (extremely heavy) and was not good as they tend not to hold well as they crack and expand around the screws. I start panicking. Then when they took the wrapping my corner cabinet did not had the wood lazy susan kidney shelving, but the cheapest metal shelving, and I know that they get rusted And is a hassle to clean. The drawers are Not what I ask for. Plus the cost of installation wasn't cheap. I am furious. Bk I feel like a fool bk I was fooled with the product. I paid a lot of money 4 it. I decided to go directly and Tom and told him and show him pics and videos of the cheap hardware that was used on my pantry and rest of the cabinets that by the way has a horrible sound when I pulled and closed the drawers. He told me that they were better then the ones I choose. I said I wanted the other ones he just did not listen. I also told him about the material he again told me it was the best and that those cabinets will last me at least 40 years. So I left. I called yesterday after the other 2 guys gave me the same bad news. Plus they told me this kind are the cheapest cheapest I could get and that hopefully I did not paid more then $2000, but I paid close to $5000 grand. I told him again and he just said: those ppl do not Nothing. They just trying to sell you their cabinets I was nice with you, installed those cabinets and that is it. I explain that they not are sales ppl. They only are only installers. I feel that I had been Ripped off. I am So DISGUSTED and DISAPPOINTED. I need a kitchen to last me for many many years, not something that will give me problems within a couple years of being installed. This is Definitely NOT Customer Customization. They cut corners, they ask for a lot of money for a product that is less then worth it. I do Not know what to do now.

This is for their lamination department (A&P Lamination). We replaced our kitchen counter top last June. Less than a year, a foot long crack line shows up in the counter top (we had our old one for 10+ years and no crack at all). Called them and talked to the counter top person, said they will come over the next week to take a look. Never did. Called back and left a message asking for an update, two weeks in and still no response. Very unprofessional and the quality of their product sucks.

THE WORST, Tom and Sal make promises all over the place, and in over a painful 4 month process never once called us back on any issue. Maybe because we only purchased cabinets from them and did not use their installation they were less than interested in making good on their word. We bought the Omega brand, and opted for a painted surface. The paint is incredibly thin and does not appear to be baked on as it is supposed to be. If you LOOK at it too hard it scratches off. Material came in damaged and they did make a visit to inspect, and Omega did promise to replace the damaged pieces. However, getting that done was nearly impossible. 5 phone calls to Tom and Tom's Omega direct rep got me zero returned calls, one amazing tirade from Tom that ended with him screaming "F You" to me before hanging up on me, and a six week wait for new, painted and severely damaged pieces. Of course neither A &P nor Omega ever returned any more calls and we were stuck to make due with what we had. This cost us extra for our carpenter to make multiple, unnecessary visits due to missed schedules and extra work cutting out and around the damaged pieces. The boys at A & P love to tell you that they've been in this business for 40 years and know what they're doing, and don't worry, everything will be great. Of course it will, for them! They get your deposit and know exactly when and how to ignore you just enough to keep you at arms reach until you're fully paid, then they disappear. Omega offers an amazing warrantee, but just try to get them to honor it. They are owned by Master Brands and my next letter is going to them to let them know about my experience. There are tons of kitchen and bath retail stores in and around Philly. Get referrals, use YELP or any other source to find a retail store that really wants to help you with your space. There are loads of quality cabinet brands. There is No need to use any product by Omega or Wolf (the A&P home made products, produced by A&P Laminates over in Grays Ferry.

TERRIBLE !!! They promised to do my smaller job as soon as they finished some larger projects. They never called me with status updates. Every once in a while I would call to check in and was always told: "ok, in about 3 weeks or so". After a year of this, I eventually, I told them to forget about it and give me my cabinet doors back. Maybe if I called them every other week for the year it would have happened but I didn't want to be a pest and did understand a 3 day job needs to be scheduled around larger projects. Nonetheless, this was a terrible experience.

The worst contractor! Beware! Do not use them -- the quality is inferior! ..... they abandoned the job site and won't finish your job!!! -- then sue you for the balance of money they do not deserve! Their business acumen should be illegal! Your cabinets will peel, crack and fall apart - not to mention - not match!!! The hinges broke. The under cabinet lights died the first week! The glass fell out! They are crooks! Go to ikea -- they will give you a better product and great installation.
