About The Stone Magazine by National Rating Countertops Contractors
A journal born from data, built for the industry
The Stone Magazine is an independent trade journal about the U.S. stone industry, created by the team behind the national ranking CountertopsContractors.com. We bring together data, expertise, and real voices from across the industry — from quarry to installation.
How it started
Back in 2022, we launched CountertopsContractors.com — the first independent national ranking of stone countertop fabricators and installers in the U.S. Over the past three years, we’ve gone deep into the industry: collecting thousands of data points, conducting hundreds of interviews and field checks, and studying every step of the process — from raw stone extraction to final installation.
By 2025, one thing became clear: the U.S. stone industry lacked high-quality professional content. Most online materials were shallow SEO-driven articles, written by people with no practical knowledge. We decided to change that — and built a platform where only real professionals publish real insights.
That’s how The Stone Magazine was born — a journal where industry insiders tell it like it is.Our mission: giving voice to stone industry experts
The Stone Magazine isn’t just a media project — it’s a trust infrastructure.
We publish non-promotional, professional articles from verified industry contributors — and we support our authors at every stage. We believe expertise should be accessible, and real professionals should be heard.
Each article we publish is a step toward transparency, education, and higher standards — for contractors, suppliers, designers, and homeowners alike.
