Bill McClusky was absolutely horrible to work with! I never do reviews but this experience was so bad I had to. Bill was recommended to us by great friends who had a great experience with him, however their project was huge and expensive. Our job was just an island top so quite the opposite. The first phone call was fine, he was pleasant asked me a few questions and told me to go to the shop and pick out what I wanted. I met Steve there and he walked me through and I picked out my top. (Steve was great!) After that I was told they would need to make a blueprint of sorts after the island was put in And that I should just keep in contact with him to book that when it was ready. Every time I called Bill, He acted put out and annoyed. I literally started every phone conversation with "Hey bill how are you?" And he would answer "busy!" EVERY time. By the time the island cabinets were put in and he was to come to make the blueprint he put me off over and over. When he finally came he told me the piece of stone we picked out was not big enough and I had to go pick out another. I had been told when I picked it out initially that it was more than big enough so I was irritated but went to pick out another piece. After I had found a piece that would work it took him over a month to install so I sat with a fully remodeled kitchen and no top on the island! The whole process in dealing with Bill was absurd. I did talk to him about it when he finally came to install and he acted like he could care less. He said I was the 1st unhappy customer he had ever had. He also went so far as to blame my friends who recommended him because he had told them he was a very busy man. I had tried to switch to dealing with Steve during this whole process, but Steve told me that he couldn't because Bill had made it clear I was his job. Outside of Bill I am happy with my island top and thought had it not been for him, this experience would have been fine, however If you are not spending a ton of money or are not a big enough project for Bill to grace you with his presence- I would highly recommend anyone else at the business to help you.

If you need professional work done at a great price Stix and Stones is it. Great guys with superior customer service had my new countertops in a few days early and they look better than I could of imagined. They are easy to work with, friendly and will accommodate anything you need. Their work looks fantastic and you can tell they take pride in what they do. I will be definitely recommending them to anyone who need kitchen countertops

This is the 3rd job S&S have done for me. A guest bathroom & 2 kitchens. The recent job, in the last week, is my kitchen & bar peninsula. Perfection. Excellent customer service. Fits like a glove. Seamed where needed beautifully. The Granite Guys who did the job were craftsmen & as an added bonus very personable. The owner, Steve, whom I had occasion to speak with knows his stuff & is honest & upfront. I highly recommend Stix & Stones with no reservations what so ever.

I'd give zero stars if I could. They arrived for install with 2 major mistakes in stone counter. This was after much time was taken by Joe to complete a template 2wks prior. My kitchen sink (cut incorrectly) was available at this time as requested by Stix and Stones. We are always home when subcontractors arrive to be available during the process. We've learned over our year of new construction it's best to be present while work is being done so everyone is on the same page with accuracy and you basically get the product you've paid for. It was obvious when Bill, the supervisor & Joe the template maker showed up there was an air of defensiveness. Not sure why it so quickly becomes them vs us? We requested stone not be cut inside due to potential mess it would cause (exposed HVAC spiral ducts just cleaned). Bill said this was their usual way of correcting issues and about that time Joe noticed another mistake. Well, in the end after much discussion & obvious irritation because "we're human and make mistakes" per Bill, the counter and my sink were taken back to shop to be corrected. When final install was complete, I found inside of my sink a sticky note (see attached photo) with directions for the areas requiring a redo. The third point stated ...have Joe do this because "this lady is not easy to work with". Fairly certain this wasn't supposed to be seen by me. To this day I'm not sure why expecting an accurate, well crafted job is seen as being "hard to work with". We were never rude or disrespectful. They made multiple mistakes and we simply expected they'd be fixed. Steve, the owner truly "had no thoughts" about this when the lack of customer service was discussed. Jason, who wrote the note stated "yeah, you were hard to work with". Zero apology from him. We ended up averting the installation of a giant mess only because we were present and able to ensure errors were corrected and not installed permanently. Steve states he only provides compensation when something has been installed incorrectly or flawed. Basically, the customer is stuck & accepts a discount due to having little option other than tearing out their sub standard craftsmanship & ripping up cabinets in the process. Interesting customer service philosophy. We ordered our material from ProSource and unfortunately, they backed up the poor customer service and bad behavior of Stix and Stones without hesitation. A sincere apology and simply taking responsibility for writing the offensive note would have gone a long way. Instead, I paid $$$ to manage my own project and received nothing but over inflated egos and an errant post it note demonstrating Stix and Stones only strives to do decent work when someone is "hard to work with". I'd hate to see what level of quality you get when you're considered "easy to work with". Yikes!!

holy cow - DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. so wow, what a joke this company is. you hire them, then you go pick out your stone at a totally different company, then they send someone to your house to measure your counterspace (which they did wrong) then YOU tear out your current counter top, then they send people out to install the granite you picked out here is the kicker - THEY BROKE MY SLAB by milling it too thin. When they picked up to place it , it broke - tumbling to the floor - MY BRAZILLIAN CHERRY WOOD FLOORS - damaging them badly, it slid down my oak cabinet, damaging it badly, and this was after it hit the top of the dishwasher damaging it also. so of course Stix and Stones does not want ownership of this problem and are trying to pass the buck to the sub-contractor THEY HIRED to install my granite that THEY MILLED TOO THIN. keep in mind, the ONE JOB STIX AND STONES HAD WAS MEASURING - IT WAS INACCURATE AND CUT SOOOOO WRONG, HAD TO BE SENT BACK.... the second job they had was milling it, WHICH THEY DID INACCURATELY ACCORDING TO OTHER CONTRACTORS, CUTTING IT TOO THIN AND NO REINFORCING IT... THE ONLY OTHER JOB STIX AND STONES HAS, IS TO SEND A BILL. Well they sent my bill and i refused to pay because i have thousands of dollars worth of damage. Stix and Stones (the contractor) tried to place blame on the sub-contractor (that stix and stones hired and which represented Stix and Stones) here were are many months later and I still have . so first the subcontractor tries to negotiate NOT fixing the cabinet since (eventually) we were going to paint them - (it was merely a thought my husband and I were tossing around but in no rush to accomplish. Secondly, Stix and Stones sent the subcontractor (who damaged our property) out to fix our Brazillian Cherry Floors - who sealed in a hole (pictured below) and also sealed in saw dust and dirt - into the finish and we will never be able to make it clean. Finally instead of replacing the cabinet door - to be made whole - he simply used 'wood filler', so some day if we do decide to paint, that particular spots' sheen will always be muttled and muted. uhg, wanna hear the worst part - the dishwasher STILL IS NOT FIXED. Now I did go ahead and pay them with the promise that they would come back out and finish their repairs - surprise surprise - never heard from them again and am contacting an attorney on this matter. this is my personal experience. you are welcome to come out and see this piss poor workmanship and job. do not give them your money - it will cost you more in the long run. (the pics below are after they FIXED the damage) so disappointing. the countertops by the way are so-so. not sealed, nothing special, just counters. - and the floors they damaged far exceeded the price of the counters. uhg, huge mistake going with this company
