Thank you, Southern Louisiana Granite (SLAG)! We reached out to SLAG for a project replacing (updating) the quartz countertop in our kitchen and adding in a new tile backsplash. We received proposals from a couple of other contractors. What eventually sold us on SLAG – besides the convenience and peace of mind of them being located very near our home, was the accessibility, interest, creativity, professionalism, and communication offered by our sales representative, Courtenay. As we worked with Courtenay to fine tune the project, she was always ready to offer additional suggestions and update our proposal and pricing with any changes - including when we realized we would have enough quartz left over to also replace the old countertop (and sink) in our guest bathroom. It was a bit more work with a contractor that didn’t also coordinate the plumbing, but making those arrangements ended up not being a problem. I was able to do all plumbing disconnects myself (water supply lines, drain pipes, dishwasher and garbage disposal connections), and we found an excellent plumbing company to do all plumbing reconnects. The countertops were installed the first day, and the tile backsplash was installed the second day. I have to be honest and say there were hiccups on that first day regarding the demolition and installation of the new countertops. As issues arose, however, SLAG owner Pamela Foster engaged herself in the process, took responsibility, and ensured everything was handled. Not once were our concerns minimized nor were we made to feel uncomfortable about raising them. I am not including the issues in this review because every project has some, SLAG was committed to addressing them, and none of them would keep us from using SLAG again in the future. I’ll admit it: I am a high maintenance customer… I ask lots of questions and I’m very particular with details and expectations. Until the very end, when our post-project punch list was complete, however, SLAG made sure we were satisfied with everything – and we were. Once everything was all complete, they kindly sent us a warm thank you card and a bottle of wine. Nice touch!

Had a fantastic experience buying a leathered granite countertop from SLAG on Magazine St. Courtenay guided me through the process with confidence and ease from the first time I walked into the shop through install day, which she supervised from beginning to end. Would recommend to anyone!

I recently had quartz counters installed and had a great experience. The quartz is beautiful, and they were very friendly and professional through the whole process. I could not be happier with the new counters and would definitely recommend them.

I'm not one to ever leave reviews but I feel as though I needed to leave this review! I had high expectations for this company by looking at the pictures they post on Facebook. As another customer stated us with caution. I had my countertops installed back in March of last year (hurricane IDA house redo). A few days after install (before we could even move in the house) my countertop had a huge stain through my seam line. I notified the company and they sent the same guy who installed to come "fix" it. All they did was make the seam rough feeling and still showed the stains. The seam was not supposed to be in the layout because of it being near my sink. The installer insisted I needed the seam for installation instead of removing cabinets that I offered to do (even though we were told to have all cabinets installed in place). So long story short he cut a seam on site and the edges are so rough. The seam is not sealed and keeps getting more and more stained. The counterops are a light gray with DARK gray stains through the entire seam. The opposite end was not cut straight and has a gap. I was told my seam would not even be that noticeable that they would have a seam there..the seam is very noticeable. They wanted to cut the stain out and make more gaping near my fridge side because of their mistake. I have left several messages, emails, Facebook messages no calls back. I'm truly upset as I feel I deserve to be when you paying for top of the line countertop like quartzite it should be done the correct way. All I want is my countertop to look nice like it should.

Upgraded my countertop & placed a new island with granite! Looks awesome! Had the nicest sales people to work with, Glenn Sr. & JoAnn. JoAnn has a “great eye” & walked me through every step. The installers did a great job & were kind & very courteous! Everyone I came in contact with eased all my concerns!! Remodeling is not an easy process but they certainly rose to my experience & made me special!! Thanks for making my kitchen “easy on the eyes!”

**edit**Would recommend with caution. Quoted one price then billed a higher price once installed saying once measured the size increased - but neither me nor my contractor were informed of price/ square footage increase. They have price per square foot PLUS labor price per square foot PLUS additional for cutouts - so be very careful - what was quoted as $49 square foot was actually $84 square foot installed - plus cut outs. Ended up being most expensive granite price out of the 3 bids because of the “increase”. I am very disappointed. The stone and workmanship was beautiful. Zero complaints about the installation and the men who came to my house were very nice and professional. **please note** After this review, I was contacted by the owner who was actually able to break down the pricing and sent it in writing. He also gave me a credit because they did not notify us of the increase after final measurements.

Some of the granite pieces were cut in various directions. It’s very obvious with the veining pattern of my granite. Another piece was cut 1/4 inch short so they pieced it with the granite veining going in 90 degree angles to the large piece. Horrible! Very poor craftsmanship. Additionally, I have several large scrapes on walls that required repair (by me) with spackling. One of my lower solid oak cabinets has a large scrape on it. This is not the quality work I was promised!
