This week, the COCO team has made significant strides. We are steadily advancing towards creating a high-quality and user-friendly rating system for those looking to find the best countertop installation contractors. Each area of our work—from design and functionality improvements on the new site to social media engagement—contributed to this productive week.
Get comfortable and enjoy our weekly update. Let’s get started!
This week, our development team made substantial progress by completing the API for the listing page. The new API includes all necessary filters—by states, cities, material types, and room usage. We also added convenient sorting options, allowing users to quickly find companies by ratings, reviews, and other key factors.
During the process, we came up with an original way to implement this feature, improving both security and performance while making the code more streamlined and reliable. I’m proud that we were able to merge usability and high efficiency into one solution!
Our designer completed the layouts for listing pages and contractor profiles, but during the work, the frontend developer noticed some missing elements, such as "states" for various blocks. The designer quickly made the necessary adjustments, and now our frontend developer has a complete set of components to build appealing pages.
Work on the homepage design is also in full swing. The homepage should not only provide convenient navigation but also convey our project’s value immediately, showing users how we make the selection process safe and simple. We’re making it intuitive and informative so that users instantly understand that here, they’ll find verified contractors and up-to-date information on countertops.
Our updates are progressing steadily, and each step brings us closer to the announcement of the best companies in just two weeks!
This week, our SEO specialist Vlad updated our semantic core—a set of search queries and frequently asked questions that people use when looking for countertop companies. This refined set of queries will allow us to make the listing page content more relevant and useful to users.
Vlad also published several new articles on countertop installation costs in various cities: Dallas, New York, Boston, Chicago and others. Read more articles about city pricing in our blog on the website.
This week, analyst Ann collected and organized pricing data for 11 cities, with 10 of them already sent to the copywriter for new articles. However, one city was sent back for further review because it’s essential for us to ensure that all companies included in our ranking provide accurate and up-to-date information.
This careful review helps maintain high-quality information and trust in our ratings. Yes, some may think we spend too much time on rechecks, but it’s better to verify thoroughly than to publish unconfirmed data that could damage our platform’s reputation.
Every detail, from calls to emails, is important for creating an accurate rating. At COCO, we prioritize data quality so that every user can trust our ratings and rely on them for decision-making.
Our SMM specialist Vikki shares some great news! The new social media design, which I mentioned earlier, has been successfully implemented and has completely transformed our accounts. They now look stylish and professional, drawing attention to our brand.
Vikki’s workload has increased—along with regular Pinterest posts, we now also publish posts and Reels on Instagram. Part of our content is now based on articles written by our copywriter Alice, allowing us to share helpful information while maintaining a cohesive style. Now, Reels and posts appear not only on Pinterest but also on Instagram and Facebook, expanding our reach.
We’ve already had a small but meaningful win! Recently, we posted a Reel featuring one of our contractors, and they not only liked it but also reshared it. This is the first such case, confirming that our new social media approach is effective. Support from contractors motivates us to keep building our strategy!
This week, our copywriting team made great progress, writing eight articles for various cities and preparing a post on Substack titled “How to Expose a Bad Countertop Company. Why We Use the Mystery Shopper Method at COCO.” This method allows us not only to gather data but also to analyze service quality in greater depth. The article helps our users understand why this approach matters.
Unfortunately, the issue with publishing on Medium is still unresolved, but we have a new large task ahead—preparing content for the FAQ section, rating system description, and listing page on our new site. This work is scheduled over three weeks to accommodate all feedback from our SEO specialist, creating the best possible content for our users!
Another week has shown how well the COCO team works together! Thanks to coordinated efforts and determination, we are not only moving forward but also strengthening our reputation and earning user trust. We’ll keep improving and pushing our project forward, making it more than just a service, but a reliable tool for selecting contractors with confidence. Your comments and support inspire us to succeed!
