Hello, friends! Another week has flown by, and it’s time to reflect on the fantastic progress made by the Countertop Contractors team. We’ve been fully committed to refining our website, ensuring it’s even more intuitive and convenient for our users. The team’s cohesion has been remarkable, with everyone working seamlessly together to deliver excellent results.
This week, the spotlight was on improving the site’s usability. On the frontend, we addressed bugs, optimized the interface, and introduced new features to enhance the user experience. Simultaneously, backend updates ensured robust performance and reliability, making the site faster and more dependable for our visitors.
Meanwhile, our social media channels are thriving. With a steady rise in followers, positive feedback, and collaborations with contractors, it’s clear that our efforts are resonating with our audience.
The dedication of every team member has been inspiring, with each person contributing their best. Stay tuned—there’s plenty more in store!
This week saw significant advancements across both the visible and hidden layers of our website.
On the frontend, we fixed an issue on the company page where the "Order" button wasn’t functioning correctly. Required fields in forms were clarified, typos were corrected, and an auto-complete feature was added for accurate address input. We also streamlined the layout of forms, ensuring they utilize the entire screen width. In total, we identified and resolved 23 minor issues, all of which improved the overall user experience.
Behind the scenes, the backend team worked diligently to refine functionality. The menu was cleaned up, with unnecessary links removed and helpful ones added. Badges were adjusted to appear only where relevant, and filter texts were rewritten for greater clarity. A new review block was also added to company pages, displaying the top four reviews when available.
A dynamic FAQ section was introduced, featuring answers to common questions about stone countertops and their maintenance. This adaptive feature was a challenging project, but the team delivered exceptional results. Headings were also updated to ensure logical prioritization of key information.
Additional backend improvements included standardizing phone number formats, resolving an issue affecting company sorting by foundation date, and introducing a variable to automatically display updated ratings. Bugs related to missing data and specific company rankings were also addressed, ensuring smoother site performance.
To enhance navigation, company card titles were made clickable, incomplete elements in the review block were hidden for better visuals, and footer content was aligned with the menu design for a cohesive look. A custom 404 error page was also created, along with fixes for 14 other subtle issues.
On the organizational side, two planning meetings were held, daily progress was closely monitored, and 41 tasks were assigned, most of which were completed within the week.
Our social media presence continues to strengthen, delivering positive results. This week, we gained a new collaboration on Instagram, received numerous thank-you messages for mentions, and saw steady growth in subscribers. These milestones underscore the success of our content strategy and increasing brand recognition.
Vikki, our social media specialist, forged connections with over 20 contractors this week. These weren’t casual interactions—they were professional negotiations aimed at building long-term relationships and establishing our brand’s credibility.
Additionally, we began work on a holiday-themed article with our copywriter, focusing on creative ways to decorate countertops for the New Year.
