Aurora, a fast-developing city in the Chicago metropolitan area, is attracting more residents eager to upgrade their homes. As infrastructure improves and the real estate market expands, more homeowners are choosing to renovate their kitchens, with countertop replacements being one of the most effective and popular ways to increase property value.
If you and your family are thinking about upgrading your kitchen countertops, you've probably already encountered the fact that you can't find direct prices for countertop fabrication and installation on contractor websites, and the sketchy information most often just confuses you. Our analytics team has also encountered this fact while gathering data on contractors. So in 2025, our team at First National Ranking of Stone Countertop Fabricators & Installers, decided to conduct our own research on pricing in Aurora.
Our goal was to create an honest ranking of companies and provide the most helpful resource for you and your family. We believe our work will help you find a reliable company to fabricate and install your dream countertops at an affordable price. Beyond that, we hope this article and our Aurora rating will save you time in choosing a contractor—so you can spend more of it doing what you love with your family!
Prior to our rating, customers (especially those who are dealing with stone countertops for the first time) had to search for a contractor on their own, spending a huge amount of time and energy: looking for contractors, calling them, waiting for them to arrive with measurements, and only then finding out the cost and comparing quotes from different contractors. This could take weeks and sometimes months.
We considered it as an outdated and ineffective way of quotation, because there are much more important things that we need to pay attention to such as work, family or hobbies. We wanted to find a way to save your time and create conditions when you do not need to spend hours comparing prices.
So the idea was born: let's play the role of a regular shopper ourselves and request estimates from contractors in Aurora that we've rated as "best" (in terms of quality and reviews). During the call, of course, we didn't tell them we were nationally ranked so that we could get honest prices, rather than prices that were skewed higher or lower to get high marks.

We introduced ourselves as regular customers in need of a new kitchen countertop.
- Contacted by phone all contractors who picked up the phone,
- Asked basic questions (just as you would ask them),
- Then sent the same email to all contractors requesting an estimate for our countertop with a clear description and photo of the project and even names and photos of materials:
- Square footage: 83.4 square feet,
- 4-inch backsplash,
- Material: Calacatta Idilio or Carrara Morro quartz,
- We take care of the removal of the old countertop and installation of the new plumbing.

We would like to point out right away! We gave each company equal conditions so that the final figures could be compared.

In our overall rating for Aurora, there are 10 contractors with a 4.0 rating or higher. These are the ones we called and asked for specific estimates. These 10 companies are not a random selection of companies: the companies in the table below and on our Aurora rating page are companies that have gone through our screening and selection stages and have proven themselves with quality, experience, and reputation.
- Someone responded quickly, giving full quotes;
- Someone did not manage to send a commercial proposal (due to workload or seasonal influx of orders), even so remains in a high position in our ranking..
Regardless, we've included everyone in the table so you understand exactly who is "in the game".
Below is our cost comparison table (for the entire 83.4 square foot project and per square foot). Keep in mind that these are prices at the time of research. Things may be slightly different at your inquiry (discounts, seasonal promotions, raw material price increases, etc.).

"-" means that the company did not provide its estimate to our mystery shopper. We do not know the reasons why we did not receive a quota from them, lack of prices is not a reason to remove a company from our rating, as by many other parameters these companies stand out in the market and can be called one of the best in Aurora.
Minimum and maximum
- Lowest price (of the ones we got): about $5200 (Marble Works).
- Highest: $8036 (Granite Corp).
- The difference is almost $2900, which is a really big number for the same material.
Comment: As is known many of these contractors purchase slabs from the same suppliers, but still the price differs. Presumably, it is not the price of the stone, but margins and the level of service.

Slab cost
We also examined open data from wholesale suppliers:
- Granite: $40 to $100 per square foot,
- Marble: $60 to $180 per square foot,
- Quartzite: $60 to $120 per square foot.
As you realize, these figures are prices only for the material itself (not including fabrication and installation). But assuming that most contractors buy granite, marble, quartzite, for countertops from the same suppliers as in the case of Quartz, it is reasonable to assume that the final price of your marble/granite/quartzite countertops from these contractors may have the same difference in the final price tag as the quartz countertops in our study.
Assuming the same volume (83.4 square feet) and average stone grades, the approximate range for the 10 companies surveyed is as follows:
- Granite: $3336 - $8340 (approximately)
- Marble: $5004 - $15012 (approximately)
- Quartzite: $5004 - $10008 (approximately)
Of course, if you choose rare or premium species, the price will go even higher.

The more "top" companies keep a high markup because they already have a "name" and a stream of customers willing to pay for a well-known brand.
In-house production, expensive machines for cutting, polishing and 3D scanning are all reflected in the prices.
Some companies order stone from far away (Italy, Brazil), which increases their costs.
Some bid on large volumes, keeping prices a little lower, while others prefer a few expensive projects per month.
We advise you to make your choice not just based on price! We advise you to visit the page of all companies participating in our rating in Aurora(all links in the table are clickable) - there:
- Project reviews (before/after photos),
- Testimonials from real customers,
- Our estimates on additional parameters,

And most importantly the ability to get contractors to measure and estimate your project for free!
Tip from our analyst Ann: Choose 2 or 3 companies based on portfolio, mystery shopper evaluations and price. Then order an accurate estimate by leaving a request on the website, over the phone or through messenger. After your countertops are installed, be sure to return to our website and leave a review for the contractor you choose. Your feedback will help other residents make the right choice!
Our main goal in conducting research on countertops prices in Aurora is to provide you with the best prices on countertops in Aurora.
We realize that cost is one of the deciding factors when choosing a contractor. That is why we undertook to systematize the numbers and show you how the price is formed in Aurora. We can confirm all the data with correspondence and letters we have sent. But remember: if you make a similar request, you may get slightly different figures (due to discounts, season or your specifics).
Our team plans to similarly research granite, marble and quartzite prices in the future (in more detail and in greater detail) to further understand why, for the same starting material (within the same type of stone), the cost can vary many times over from one contractor to another. We hope this will make your journey to a beautiful and functional kitchen faster and easier.
